"What about the people outside?" Sieglinde says worriedly as she rushes to check.

Sieglinde strides back to the pyramid. "I am no good at delicate work," she says, "but I would gladly destroy this tool of evil."

If nobody stops her or has a better idea, she'll try to break one of the bloodstones with her scimitar.

Sieglinde takes the fetchling's keys and goes back to the prisoners to unlock their restraints. Once free, she'll take them, the Blakros sisters, and the fellow from the experimental chamber with her as she tries to get them outside the building.

Sieglinde pants as she pulls out her wand and heals herself. "Did that thing have a key on him?" she asks as she stows the wand. "We need to free the prisoners."

Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

If such a key is not easily found, Sieglinde will march off to the chained prisoners, scimitar in hand. One way or another, they will be free - even if it means having to break every chain by hand!

Because of Siegline's Smite, her AC against the fetchling is currently 19, meaning the stunning fist attempt would miss. I'm sorry - I should update my stat bar with these things.

With her opponent in her face, Sieglinde drops her bow, steps to the side, and pulls out her scimitar. "We shall have vengeance!" she cries as she raises it above her head with both hands.

Scimitar, Smite evil, Flanking: 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 3 + 2 + 2 = 16

Sieglinde continues moving around the perimeter of the room to get a clear shot before firing another arrow. Stupid creature knocking away arrows, she thinks to herself. Might have to pull out the scimitar.

As her companions move into position, Sieglinde also moves - back towards the door. "Hava!" she bellows, "tell Sakimoth to step to the side after attacking!" as she draws her bow, ready to loose another light arrow when she does not have an ally between her and her opponent.

Sieglinde rushes into battle, moving swiftly around the entrance to give herself less cover later to deal with. "Not another soul falls to your evil today!" she cries as she looses an arrow at the shadowy figure before her.

Sieglinde moves, smites evil, and attacks (using one of the arrows with the light effect). I'll include the modifiers from Smite, but if the fetchling is not evil we'll have to remove them. Sorry!

Sieglinde holds her bow and nods, ready to smite those who would do such things to other souls. "In case there are more of those shadowy people inside," she says as she holds out a handful of arrows, "perhaps the same trick will work twice to bring their foul deeds to light."

Sieglinde is hoping someone will cast light on those arrows to nullify any fetchling miss chances from being in dim lighting.

Seeing Xavier conscious, Sieglinde turns back to the fight. "You shall not harm another soul!" she cries as she strides forward and draws her scimitar, raising it above her head in both hands. "We will take the vengeance your victims have been denied!"

With too many people between her and her target, Sieglinde grumbles, drops her bow, and turns around, pulling out her newly acquired wand as she does so. "Hold in there, little one," she says as she taps Xavier with it.

Hearing Xavier's cries of pain, Sieglinde springs into action!

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Moving carefully across the icy floor, she draws another arrow and send it flying at his attacker. "Over here!" she bellows.

Longbow, Point-blank shot: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 1 = 7
Piercing damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

What was the word on that shortbow? Specifically, what was its strength rating? Not that it matters right now apparently, but if it has a decent strength rating Sieglinde would prefer to use it since it would be more accurate than her longbow.

Sieglinde barely glances at the wand. "Do you think anyone would mind if I borrowed this?" she asks as she points at the well-made shortbow.

What is the Str rating on the composite shortbow?

Sieglinde grimaces as she steps fully into the doorway and draws another arrow.

Longbow, Cover: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 5 - 4 = 17

Seeing the slick floor, Sieglinde is quite content to stay where she is as she pulls out an arrow and sends it flying towards the creature.

Longbow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 Not sure about cover, but doesn't matter with that roll
Piercing damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4

Sieglinde drops her bow and moves as far away as she can.

Sieglinde focuses on the creature (using detect evil as a move action).

"Then we find the key. I swear, we will not forget you," Sieglinde says to Juxian before heading north (to the second door in this lower "wing").

Sieglinde studies them carefully, looking for any sign that they have been corrupted by this foul place.

Sieglinde uses detect evil on the prisoners. She's especially interested in the two with the glowing marks.

"Then we do so," Sieglinde says resolutely.

Ready to open door if need be.

Hah! Didn't even notice those doors! Let's start with the southern door first?

"Excellent," Sieglinde says as she marches back to the hallway to retrieve her bow. "Now this side." She stands ready to enter the northern (upper) doorway.

Sorry, not sure which way's north anymore.

Gripping her scimitar in both hands, Sieglinde raises it above her head as she cries out, "You shall not take another soul tonight!"

Scimitar: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Slashing damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Sieglinde will also attack the blue fetchling if it is still conscious - otherwise she will shift to the orange one.

"No hope for a clear shot now," Sieglinde grumbles as she leaves her bow behind and strides into the room. As she approaches the grey creatures, she draws her scimitar.

Remember that the prevailing conditions require a CL check for any spell with the “light” descriptor!

Sieglinde holds out an arrow. "Then make this glow," she says to the casters of the group. "I shoot them, or close to them, and no more darkness to hide in."

Sieglinde will delay and give a spellcaster a chance to cast light on her arrow. Once it successfully is cast, she'll shoot at the orange opponent (rolls below). If nobody puts the spell on her arrow, she will shrug and shoot the orange opponent anyways. Even if it misses, it should land either in the crate or on the ground behind and provide some illumination.

Piercing damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8

"So which way?" Sieglinde asks. "Ice or more shadows?" She moves towards the north door, making her preference for the solid ice creature rather than potentially incorporeal shadows clear.

As the others heal up, Sieglinde looks down the hallway for any other signs of stronger evil. "The lady said the north hall, right?" she asks. "There's a door here going that way. Hurry!"

Still with the detect evil.

"See!?" Sieglinde roars as she moves through the door entrance and takes aim at the creature. Time to try out these new arrows, she thinks to herself.

Bludgeoning damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Sieglinde moves and shoots the skeleton with a blunt arrow.

"There is evil everywhere here," Sieglinde says slowly. "But there is more evil there," and she points to the dinosaur with her drawn bow.

Sieglinde is suspicious. Anyone that takes people from their families against their will must be evil, she thinks as she examines the entryway with a scowl.

If the party is willing to move slow enough, Sieglinde will have detect evil up as the party explores.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

"Then we go now," a tall Ulfen woman states from the doorway, a bow slung across her back and a wooden icon of a crossed sword and wing hung around her neck. "Lives depend on us."

"Gladly," says Sieglinde with a smile. "Shall we take you back to the Lodge with us now?"

Also not Liberty's Edge, so feel free to overrule this too.

Sieglinde gives Eminesa a hard stare. "The truth will be known," she says, "one way or another. The difference is if you try to hide from the truth, or if you face it and then make things better." A tear comes to her eye, as if she's had to practice what she's preaching before, but she ignores it. "Are you brave enough?" she challenges both Eminesa and Colson.

Sieglinde is not certain the danger has passed (and is somewhat disappointed she didn't get to smite anyone), and scans the area with detect evil before sheathing her scimitar and retrieving her bow.

"Do you know what evil it was?" she asks Grishan finally.

"Thank you!" Sieglinde says to the owl, perhaps a little louder than is really necessary. She takes the oil and spreads it on her scimitar, which seems to glow as she steps closer to the the spirit in the middle of the room.

Sieglinde uses her move action to receive the oil from Kaepora and her standard to apply it to her scimitar, then takes a 5 ft step closer to Cassiel.

"My weapon does nothing!" cries Sieglinde as she drops her bow and steps around this new spirit, pulling out her scimitar as she does so."Dahrani, do you have another of those oils?" She holds her weapon tightly in both hands and slashes at this new opponent - it at least looks solid!

Sieglinde drops her bow, takes a 5 ft step (drawing her scimitar as she does so), and whacks the spirit next to her. GM, this spirit can treat her AC as 2 lower because it is not the target of her smite.

Sieglinde roars back, "ENOUGH!" as she steps forward and notches her bow. "General of Vengeance, guide my hand that I might bring peace to this soul!" she cries, and her bow seems to shimmer somehow. Eyes ablaze with holy fire, Sieglinde takes aim at the evil ghost before her.

Siglinde takes a 5 ft step, uses Smite Evil on the ghost, and shoots it. Unfortunately, she's not the brightest candle in the box and doesn't realize that even with Smite, her non-magical arrows will do nothing to an incorporeal creature. Perhaps though this will count as "drawing a weapon" and so help shake her allies out of their stupor.

Also, would this use up the "first attack against an undead deals twice her paladin level in extra damage"? Or would that be "used" only when she actually does damage?

Sieglinde will move behind J and give her shoulder a squeeze. "This one is not like Grishan," she says. "It may mean you harm." Her other hand clutches her bow tightly.

Sieglinde studies the spirit in front of her. Is this one like Grishan, or an evil ghost? she wonders.

Sieglinde focuses on the spirit with detect evil.

Sieglinde agrees with Grishan. "Evil is still here," she says worriedly. "Do you know the way to the necropolis? Perhaps we can strike before it recovers."

I'm going to laugh (and probably cry) if the haunt is caused by J's friend Cassiel.

What amazingly average damage between the two of you!

Also, given that we had plenty of warning for this haunt, if anybody has an extra flask of holy water that want to have given to her, Sieglinde would be happy to throw it if/when her turn comes up.

Sieglinde takes the rear guard position, bow at the ready and eyes peeled for harmful presences.

If we're moving slowly enough, Sieglinde will have detect evil active to scan the area ahead of the group.

Sielglinde scowls, both in response to hearing the ghorans were created to be eaten and and the words on the page in front of her. ”These don’t even make sense,” she growls. ”Who are these people here anyways?”

"How you do resist the evil rain?" Sieglinde asks. "Besides our secrecy, is there any other way we can help protect you and your kin?"

None of those effects from the fruits/plants will benefit Sieglinde much, so she'll pass.

"And she's suffering in her head," adds Sieglinde.

Turning to the creature, Sieglinde speaks gently. "We are not here to harvest you, or your friends. We wish to examine the statue behind you, and to depart in peace. If we can assist you in any way, please tell us how. The water here is bad, and it has probably clouded your thoughts."
