i would never ask for this normally.

but as a reserve character for in case i die. i need the following.

an orcish scarred witch doctor whom doubles as party healer for a party of the following

my current character is a small framed chelexian fetchling gothloli (the fashion style not the age category) ninja who was raised by tian clans in a branch in cheliax

a Tian Fighter 4/Barbarian 3 who 2hands a Katana

a light armored Dwarven Fighter 7 who dual wields sawtooth sabres

a gnomish sorcerer 7

a drow rogue 7 whom shows up every other week, uses poisons and lots of spell like abilities

a nagaji waves oracle 7 whom serves a melee combatant with a longspear

an ulfen animal singer bard 7 whom casts, uses skills and buffs, but cannot fight with a cassian angel familiar

a halfling witch 7 whom uses a combination of hexes (especially slumber) and secondary weak blasting

the rules for designing said witchdoctor

7th level build
must meet the requirements to be a scarred witch doctor and use the archtype
standard wealth by level
25 point buy; there are no special rules on dump stats, dump ahoy
2 traits
no crafting feats (with the exception of consumables and stuff like bonded objects)
in lieu of the skill points from your class at 1st level (not counting intelligence, racial, or favored class) you get 1 rank in every one of your class skills (including from traits or feats gained at 1st level)
must have something to contribute to a pirate ship (would prefer profession, sailor)
must at least somewhat exploit his orcish strength bonus in case he ran out of spells. so an 18 STR (including racial) would be preferred

must have builds for levels 7-10. level cap is 15.

the array i was considering (not very typical, but hey)

Str 18 (14+4)

Dex 12

Con 18 (17+1) Favored Class goes to hit points

Int 12

Wis 10

Cha 5

Detachable Sleeve of Endless Daggers

Powerful Conjuration; CL1st Slot; None (although they are worn on the arms)

this long detachable sleeve can change it's appearance to match whatever garment is worn, when the sleeve is reached into (as a free action) allows one to draw a masterwork dagger that dissapears once used for a single melee or ranged attack. the sleeve may produce an endless supply of these daggers. and the daggers produced dissapear after one round if not used.

variant Detachable Sleeves of Endless daggers might pass magic weapon enhancements on the daggers they create. the price of the enhancements is added to the price of each individual sleeve that bears the property.

similar items may exist for variants such as a quiver of endless arrows, a magazine of endless bolts or bullets, a glove of endless javelins, a sling that produces infinite sling stones, or any ranged weapon ammunition really.

Crafting Requirements, Abundant Ammunition, Craft Wondrous Item, Craft Magic arms and Armor, the creator must have the quick draw feat

Market Price. 8,000 gold pieces (4,000 to craft). adding enhancements to the sleeve requires an additional cost equivalent to enhancing a magic weapon.

Martial Adept

tired of martials that don't get nice things? the martial adept gains nice things. not as nice as a wizard, but he has some nice spammable class abilities that seem more overpowered on paper than they are in person.

no longer do you have to choose between moving and full attacking, no longer do you have to suffer at the hands of flying ranged opponents. no longer does DR have to wear your down. hell, the right choice might even give you regeneration. this class is designed for people who want to play characters such as Kenpachi Zaraki to Lu-bu or Li-Mu-bai. it also works for characters like Hercules or Siegfried without too much effort.

it may sound a little overpowered at first, but the easy way to keep it in line is not to create an extra warrior's discipline feat. the abilities are powerful on their own and meant to be of restricted access. though there isn't level requirements, some of these powers can get a little overpowered.

it's true, my saturday group with Weekly William isn't the most tactically inclined. the DM uses all sorts of synergies that my fellow individualistic players don't see because they are so closed minded and refuse to buy the books. they are often stuck in a rut and refuse my offers to help. out of 10 players, 7 or more usually have a more martial focus and can't reach the damage numbers listed on these forums.

things i had to do.

i had to dumb myself down drastically to not outshine the group. this usually means delaying my progression by multiclassing and i still outshine the group's martials.

take support roles and enhance teammates, it's very rare i get to play a damage dealer and the groups definition of support tends to be fireballing sorcerer or healing cleric. if i cast haste, they don't realize that the extra attack made them that much better.

if i do somehow build a character around damage, i have to deliberately build in a defensive flaw elsewhere the group can poke fun at. usually daily resources.

the group seems adverse to anything but the most mindless of tactics, they rush headlong like leeroy jenkins and only survive due to DM coddling.

it takes the whole group of 10 players to do what a group of 6 players can do far more effectively

the group tracks kill count, wealth and all sorts of personal vanity achievements for bragging rights upon one another and engages in the path of slaughter for the motive of XP and Wealth.

individual members complain if their kill is stolen.

out of 10 players, we usually never have more than 1 or 2 dedicated casters.

not much is understood beyond Zurg Rushing. so tactics are rather mindless.

out of 1o players, we only have 3 optimizers (including myself) and our optimization strategies are often foiled by fiat.

"Amid a dull pounding in your temples, you awake and your eyes blearily snap open. Sprawled around you in a dank stone cell are nine other bedraggled sentients, all bound to the floor with chain, like yourself. Guards patrol in front of the bars every few minutes, their torches the only brief illumination you have.

You are trapped in this cell with your fellow prisoners like animals.

And you know, deep in the depths of your self, that this is not your true fate.

Go find it."

And then everyone starts talking?

Discussion

you may discuss any further details here and finalize your characters. the 10 of you are the chosen inmates. and yes, you will eventually get to recover your gear on the way out. though i still need to stat out boss opponents.

You wake up in a Chelexian Jail Cell with no equipment, you awaken bound and gagged.

Rules

26 point buy, no starting attributes above 16 after racial modifiers
you start 1st level with no equipment except a mundane set of clothing, the gag around your mouth and the shackles binding your hands and feet.
Any Race from Chapters 1-3 of the advanced race guide is allowed, but no customs.
Any paizo class or archtype is allowed as is Dreamscarred presses psionics unleashed. but it most be published on www.d20pfsrd.com
instead of the bonus attribute point every 4th level, you recieve a bonus buy point every level. this is already included into your 1st level point buy.
2 traits; plus a third and 4th trait developed by the DM. in some cases, a DM chosen feat might be given instead of the traits. this trait won't always be optimal and won't intionally be chosen as such.
DM has the right to veto specific builds on any grounds he chooses.

Humans get +2 to a second attribute of thier choosing, but cannot choose dual talent.

you must come up with a reason for why you are inside a chelexian jail cell.

How to speed up gameplay and reduce the 15 minute day

See how it doesn't suggest 4 encounters of party level?
See how it doesn't say the party barely scraped by?

it makes writing adventures much easier. makes the 15 minute day a lot less common, and makes PCs/Bosses feel special.

need help minmaxing a melee treesinger as a backup character for future use should i end up dead.

Rules;
25 point buy
2 traits
4th level
any erratas or faq rulings are bound to be ignored (meaning growth domain uses it's broken original version).
must have a reason to join the pirate crew for skull and shackles
1st level characters, in liu of the skill points gained from thier class (not counting intellegence or other sources such as favored class) gain a free rank in all non craft or profession based class skills at 1st level. with a bonus amount equal to thier intellegence modifier to distribute among cross class skills, craft or profession.
large size or larger pets are going to have all sorts of issues on board the man's promise.
profession (navigator) is a must have skill.
must have a viable combat option for when wildshape isn't available.

i created a silly new overpowered artifact, just for the Lulz.

Nokia Banhammer:

The Nokia Banhammer; Major Artifact

a slender shaft with some strange numerian device attached at one end, it is an unusually heavy magic hammer

This small sized hammer may only be wielded by a creature with the fey type. when wielding the hammer, it grants the following abilities;

a +6 enhancement bonus to Attack and Damage rolls as well as the keen and speed properties, which are factored into it's statistics

the ability to use the higher of thier natural base strength or a base strength of 22 for the purpose of determining attack and damage bonuses. this effective base strength is applied before applying strength enhancing bonuses from items, alchemy, rage, or whatever.

they are treated as having the power attack feat as long as they wield this hammer and have an effective base attack bonus equal to thier total hit dice.

a fey wielding this hammer feels the compulsive need to cause as much destruction as possible. every round, they must make a DC 25 will save or try to attack a creature, object or structure of thier choice. the calm emotions spell suppresses this drawback for one hour with a DC 25 concentration check.

all of your base speeds increase by 30 feet and you gain the pounce ability while you wield this hammer.

this hammer may be used to cast message at will, with no limit to word count.

this hammer chooses it's wielder. it's akwardness prevents it from being sold and there is but only 2. the Nokia Banhammer and it's Twin Brother, the Motorola Maul.

This hammer Deals 6d6 bludgeoning damage with a critical range of 15-20x4

the wielder benefits from a continuous freedom of movement effect when wielding this hammer and may use it to trace somatic components for the purpose of casting spells.

anybody who doesn't have the fey type cannot wield this hammer and gain it's benefits, not even gnomes. it's enchanted weight shows. for a fey, this small sized hammer is weightless, for anyone else, this hammer weighs 999,999,999,999,999 Kilotons.

My Guide

it's a little quick and dirty, and needs opinions before i update it.

weekly william's group. ill miss the first week and show up the second.

what i know of the party

My cousin is playing a human cleric (likely a do it all build or something)
dale is playing a dwarven fighter (likely sword and board)
kevin is playing a witch
seth is going to be on a temporary hiatus but will show up later in the campaign and likely play cheese
aaron is going to play a battle cleric or a 2WF build
javier will most likely play some kind of caster (don't know which yet)
i don't know what lyle will play but it will use obscure rules loopholes
matt (last i heard) is playing a gnomish rogue who wants to go wizard then arcane trickster, but he shows up every other week.

i have a few ideas i wish for votes on.

Kira Moonsong, Female Elf Rogue who will go wizard then arcane trickster, cover the rogue role. essentially an anal retentive neat freak elf who was raised by tengu foster parents in a human settlement. couldn't afford her academy lessons upfront, so she runs errands to pay for her lessons as a Go Fer.

Jadelocks, male Oread Martial Artist, an exile from minkai who bums off the cheaper parts of the shackles, smells like booze, hard as stone, and a wise jerk who comes off as an abrasive asshat. jadelocks is his nickname which derives from his jade hair, easier for people to remember than his real name.

Conflitta Ignatius, an impulsive, irrational chelexian fire elemental bloodline sorceress with anger issues and a daddy complex. her father is an earl and she is spoiled an confrontational. but quite a skilled linguist, and can be very persuasive. timing her fits of anger advantageously.

Nera Moonwhisper; Female Chelexian Magus. sent by her uncle to serve as a trade messenger, she got captured by pirates and forced to work.

Shuriken's Expanded Pathfinder Charts.

i expanded the wealth and XP charts to cover levels up to 30, and the point buy charts to accomodate ability scores ranging from 1-26. this newly expanded chart favors MAD classes, and follows paizo's premade formula. please ask your DM before using ability scores below 7 or above 18. even though that was the intention behind this chart. now monks won't suck if they can use this chart and get away with dumping thier charisma down to 1.

i am looking for a pathfinder PBP. i could adapt the concept to the PBP. but i would rather use an existing alias.

i would prefer to play a skill monkey or caster. and am willing to adapt my characters if neccessary. but at the same time, i am looking for a DM who can at least tolerate my unusual characters.

characters i have tried to audition and failed (yet am stuck with aliases for and cannot change thier names.)

female tian rogue (adaptable as ninja or martial artist without too much effort)
female aasimaar haunted life oracle of milani (willing to go human if aasimaar isn't accepted)
female fetchling bard (willing to go human if fetchling isn't accepted)
female tian ronin w/ roc mount (adaptable as tactician or magus if i must)
female tian brawler/brutal pugilist
female chelexian transmuter
male ulfen fighter (either tactician or lore warden)
male varisian beastmorph vivisectionist
female tian inquisitor of zon-kuthon (adaptable as other ascetic class too)
male chelexian chain wielding trip fighter (lore warden)
female tian cleric of shizuru (touhou shrine maiden flavor)

character i am trying to push

female elf rogue/admixture evoker/arcane trickster

i know, more than half of the PCS i proposed were oriental and only 3 are male.

for me it's

whatever ethnicity doesn't fit the setting (like an oriental PC in the middle of what otherwise amounts to europe)

Fauxlitas (especially of the cuter medium races, usually adapt thier class choice around thier personal stat and gear choices)

slaves, second class citizens, anything that gets people to give funny looks.

planetouched (Especially pretty ones like Aasimaar and Tiefling)

anything with a decent number of skill points.

i hear all this martial versus caster stuff and it makes me wretch.

how about we have a party composition contest?

every contestant will create a party of 5 characters according to the guidelines and explain how they deal with each of the listed scenarios. this isn't so much a competitive contest as much as seeing how the different party compositions work together.

Scenarios:

1; your group has to negotiate with the king of another country to stop a war as soon as possible. your home is on the verge of losing to the opposing nation and the treaty must be made in haste. you have to worry about an onslaught of hired assassins, monsters, and mercenaries of various sorts

2; your group gets captured, imprisoned and stripped of all thier equipment, and you have to escape the complex prison through a series of complex mazes back to civilization

3; your group gets hired to clear a tribe of (insert level appropriate humanoid here) so that your people can gain access to an important resource.

4; you are shopping in a metropolis that doesn't like your kin. you really need supplies but everyone is unfriendly or worse towards you. how do you get the supplies?

5. you are investigating a dungeon in the hopes of plundering treasure, the foes are level appropriate and mixed composition and the traps are nasty. you need that rare artifact as soon as possible to stop the evil lich king from destroying the world. how do you go about it?

6. you have been given 1 year to clear out an unnamed land and start a colony. it takes 3 months to travel both ways by sea and is impossible by foot. there are no stores or trading outposts, no towns, but there are ruins and indigenous tribes to barter with. how do you go about it?

rules:

spoilers for party contructers
Party of 5 Characters, 1 Martial, 1 Arcane Caster, 1 Divine Caster, 1 Skill Monkey and 1 Hybrid.
Elite array
5th level
10,000 gold. no more than 3,000 of which can be spent on one item.
every character gets a free adventuring kit
no crafting discounts

Free Adventuring Kit:

1 mundane backpack
1 waterskin
enough food to cover the sustenance requirements of the adventure
1 dagger
1 free outfit worth 10 gold pieces or less with a free change of undergarments for those embarassing moments
1 50 foot coil of hempen rope
1 flint/steel
500 gold pieces worth of misc potions and scrolls

i have been hearing a lot of fighter hate. so i thought i would come up with a contest (i need judges) people will create builds and post how they deal with scenarios. assume you have as your 3 companions, 1 rogue, 1 cleric and 1 wizard. you can specify thier rough details for further clarification

Rules:

i would like to propose the following rules for the contest.
elite array
5th level
10,500 gp, no more than 3,000 of which may be spent on the same item
everyone is assumed to own the following free items. you may opt out og a given item for the purpose of encumbrance or whatever
1 mundane (not masterwork) backpack
1 waterskin
1 set of clothes worth less than 10 gold pieces
1 flint/steel
1 50 foot coil of hempen rope
1 weeks trail rations
40 units of mundane ammunition for thier primary ranged weapon (this will include thrown weapons too) this free ammo is not masterwork, nor is it magical or made of a special material
1 dagger
1 belt pouch
1 bedroll
1 spare change of undergarments (to deal with those embarassing fear effects)
a mundane sling
a mundane quarterstaff or club

Builds that need to be posted
Fighter
Paladin
Ranger
Cavalier
Barbarian
Samurai

Minimums
Must have a minimum of 18 Armor Class
Must have a minimum fort/will save of +3
assume you will face 3-5 encounters per day at a variable CR range averaging APL +1

Scenarios:

1; what do you do when you are stripped of your primary weapon?

2; how do you deal with DR?

3. you get hit by a nasty condition, how do you deal with it. explain once each for staggered, fatigued, sickened, shaken, dazed, entangled, grappled, prone, charmed, color spray

4. enemy flies and/or has more reach/range than you, how do you deal with it? explain once each for flying foes, ranged foes, flying melee foes with more reach than you and flyby attack, and flying ranged foes.

5. enemy holds major mcguffin npc hostage, what do you do?

6. enemy isn't your primary target type (wrong alignment or creature type to get your class granted bonuses) what do you do?

7. you are captured and stripped of your gear, what do you do?

i will take any judges willing to help. and any judges can come up with additional scenarios.

looking for 4-6 players to test D&D next with me when i get to download the stuff.

Weekly William is going to start skull and shackles in a matter of weeks. i need suggestions for a character to play.

here is the preplanned group makeup

Dale is going to play a dwarf fighter

Kevin is going to play a witch

Javier is going to play either a wizard or a druid

Aaron has mentioned playing a battle cleric

my cousin Ashley intends to play a healing cleric

Matt intends to play a gnomish rogue that becomes an arcane trickster

Seth is going to play either a martial of some kind or a bard

Lyle intends to try an oracle. though he doesn't know what kind of build

what do you reccomend with this group? an (adapted) nixie water elemental bloodline sorcerer, an aasimaar flames oracle, a human reach weapon fighter, or an archer fighter were ideas i had.

guidelines

1st level
20 point buy
2 traits
maximum starting gold for 1st level
material from any official paizo pathfinder book is allowed on a case by case basis as long as it can be aqcuired in physical print without the aid of a printer. with the exception that paladins, gunslingers and anything pertaining to the firearms rules are banned.
no evil alignments
0HD pc races (from the bestiary 1-3 or advanced race guide when it comes out) are allowed case by case with the exception of stuff like the damphyr and races from the underdark (such as drow and svirfneblin). if a particular fitting race doesn't have a character's section. weekly william will create a basic PC level version of the race at his whim.
as an example of one of his adaptions

Nixie
Fey
Darkvision 60 ft
Small
+2 Dex +2 Cha -2 Str
20 Ft base land Speed 30 Ft Swim Speed
Amphbious

i need a fitting sorcerer bloodline for a skull and shackles nixie sorcerer as well as a fitting spell selection.

i was debating on elemental (water), fey, stormborn, or a wildblood mutation of the above 3.

i need 2 first level spells and 5 cantrips. and a spell selection guide from levels 3-8.

which one?
Synthesist modeled loosely after the grim reaper with a magical girl flavor?
Barbarian inspired loosely by Masane Amaha from witchblade?
Martial Artist with a Temple sword who performs a 2handed flurry?
Aasimaar Life Oracle Loosely inspired by Flonne from Disgaea?
Bard inspired loosely By Ciel Phantomhive from Black Butler?
Tiefling Wizard inspired loosely by Koakuma from Touhou?
Psionicist from a previous Psionicists Psychic academy (another players PC)?
a Rogue (or ninja) who focuses on skills and unarmed combat?
Cleric or Inquisitor of Zon-Kuthon with a compulsive hatred for undead on the basis that they cannot feel suffering?
an beastmorph vivsectionist that praises lamashtu and venerates madness?

rules

25 point buy
4 traits

unless race is specified, assume human.

i am looking for a 1st level conversion of Koakuma with maybe a level by level process to serve as a guideline for later levels.

Lantern Lodge

Nekogami:

Ability Modifiers; +2 Strength, +2 Dexterity; a Nekogami is a strong agile warrior like her goddess ancestor

Type. Outsider (Native); Nekogami are the mostly human blooded descendants of a minor goddess.

Medium: Medium races have no bonuses or penalties due to their size. A Medium creature has a space
of 5 feet by 5 feet and a reach of 5 feet

Darkvision 60 ft: a nekogami can see in the dark up to 60 feet. This works like the dwarf ability of the same name

Fast Speed; a Nekogami has a base land speed of 40 feet.

Divine Will; a Nekogami, due to her Divine Nature Receives a +2 Racial bonus on will saving throws

Natural Armor; a Nekogami, due to her enhanced density receives a +1 natural armor bonus to her armor class

Languages: Common, 1 Regionally appropriate Human Language of Choice, Bonus Languages. A Nekogami may choose any language (Except secret languages such as druidic) as a bonus language

purchase:

Native Outsider 2 (includes darkvision)
flexible modifiers 2
natural armor +1 2
dual minded 1
fast speed 1
linguist array 2

basic things

upped the language array and traded the bonus feat for natural armor.

Lantern Lodge

i never played a ninja before (but i have played a few rogues). i need minmaxing advice.

rules

25 point buy
4 traits
must be human (tian)
1st level
max starting gold for class
must have a good reason for existing in ustalav for the carrion crown
weapon finesse/dervish dance can not be combined with power attack
other expectations

passible trapfinder (doesn't neccessarily need trapfinding), decent combatant, decent scout, okay face, able to survive the first so many levels.

i was considering making her a tian female named Akane Saitou.

Lantern Lodge

in a matter of weeks (a little over a month or so). weekly william is going to start carrion crown. there is 9ish players (not counting the DM). and i haven't confirmed what all of them will be playing. but from what i gather, we might have the following

Dwarven S&B Fighter
(Human?) Healing Domain Cleric
a Potential Cleric or 2WF build
a possible (summoner?)
and a (maybe?) alchemist (not sure which spec)

3 or 4 still undecided people and myself.

what should i play and what should i go with?

Allowed Races
Core
Bestiary 1-3 (0hd planetouched only)

Allowed Classes/Feats/Traits
Core
APG
UM except words of power
UC with the exception of variant rules (like peicemeal armor) and anything pertaining to firearms or siege weapons (such as the gunslinger), (stuff like the eastern equipment chart is fine)
DSP Psionics unleashed
pathfinder companion pamphlets case by case
inner sea world guide

weekly william is very closed minded on his view of classes, and outright cannot stand reflavoring/reskinning. he also restricts access to race/gender/class combinations that he sees as completely against the racial standards (like dwarven barbarians or aasimaar rogues) or have gender specific combinations (like male witches or female druids or cavaliers) he would rather have it, that if you are playing a character that forces him to heavily suspend his disbelief, that you come up with a 1 page (minimum) backstory and answer a 5 page pamphlet of questions as to what makes this special snowflake tick. for his critique.

what should i play?

trapfinder?
arcane caster?
reach martial?
archer?
hybrid?

and if so, what would be a good route?

1st level with maximum starting gold for class
25 point buy, try to avoid attributes higher than 18 or more than one dump stat
4 traits

Lantern Lodge

i have some news you would be glad to hear.

the character i played for the last 8 months (and am still playing) is not tien and not a child. not even a fauxlita.

Description:

it's a Suli Battle Oracle of Gorum (Quadira Companion pre nerf version)

Still Female but here are some of the interesting notes the group has skimmed over and likely forgotten.

she is in her late 20's

5'6" (at least it's not 5'1")

150 pounds of raw amazonian muscle with 10 pack abs and a D cup.

keleshite (it was a DM imposed requirement to be a Suli)

battle scarred

actually wears heavy armor and bites both the speed penalty and the ACP (it's glamered full plate but still heavy armor)

doesn't wear japanese style clothing nor try and japanify an existing weapon. (full plate is glamered to look like heavy reddish brown desert robes reminiscent of arabian nights).

carries a greatsword. (would prefer polearm of some kind but greatsword is fine too due to the fact i can spam righteous might, freedom of movement and air walk)

actually doubles as a viable healer and viable radar in addition to a viable melee combatant. (even with dumped wisdom).

does this impress the people who once thought of me as creepy?

Lantern Lodge

i present the Nekogami. complete with lesser, intermediate, and greater tiers.

the lesser Nekogami, for those who thought that they were too good. not as crazy powerful.

Lesser Nekogami:

Lesser Nekogami:

+2 Strength, +2 Dexterity; Nekogami are Strong and Agile.

Type. Outsider (Native); Nekogami are the mostly human blooded descendants of a minor goddess.

Medium: Medium races have no bonuses or penalties due to their size. A Medium creature has a space
of 5 feet by 5 feet and a reach of 5 feet

Darkvision 60 ft: Members of this race can see in the dark up to 60 feet. This works like the dwarf ability of the same name

Fast Speed; a Nekogami has a base land speed of 40 feet.

Divine Will, a Nekogami, due to their Divine Nature Recieves a +2 Racial bonus on will saving throws

Nekogami Weapon Familiarity: Nekogami are proficient in the Katana and Wakiazashi

Slight Frame: a Nekogami takes no penalties for squeezing

Language: Common, Tien, Bonus Languages, Sylvan, Elven, Aklo, Vudra, Kelish, Giant, Abyssal

the standard Nekogami, for those who don't mind this race, it's a little more minmaxy with the points, and if used alongside a lesser nekogami, should be trait taxed.

Intermediate Nekogami:

Nekogami:

+2 Strength, +2 Dexterity, -2 Charisma. Nekogami are strong and agile, despite what their slight frames would hint. But they tend to have a cold, calculative personality that makes them seem a little distant and arrogant towards others

Human Adaptability; Nekogami receive a bonus feat at first level for which they meet the prerequisites. In addition, they count as a human for the purpose of racially specific prerequisites. Such as feats or traits that require one to be human

Nekogami Weapon Familiarity: Nekogami are proficient in the Katana and Wakiazashi

Slight Frame: a Nekogami takes no penalties for squeezing

Language: Common, Tien, Bonus Languages, Sylvan, Elven, Aklo, Vudra, Kelish, Giant, Abyssal

and now, the greater Nekogami for those who feel that these people should be in the level adjustment range

Greater Nekogami:

Greater Nekogami:

+2 Strength, +2 Dexterity, +2 Constitution, +4 wisdom -2 Charisma. Nekogami are strong and agile, despite what their slight frames would hint. But they tend to have a cold, calculative personality that makes them seem a little distant and arrogant towards others

Defensive Training; a Nekogami Recieves a +2 Dodge Bonus to Armor Class

Stalker; perception and stealth are always class skills for a greater Nekogami

Keen Senses; a Greater Nekogami Recieves a +2 racial bonus to perception checks

after a while of on and off travel escaping the cultists of Lamashtu, you find yourseleves back in Caliphas during an overcast day.

Lady Umbriere looks towards the party and seems to be trembling with excitement. may we visit Uncle Max?

the Area was crowded, most of the crowd was centered towards the market. random swindlers were cheering buy your lucky charms here!

the Discussion Thread For Guardians of the Moonwhisper Heir.

please discuss and work on your characters here.

for HP generation, i will let the party vote.

option 1
MAX HP per level period

option 2
Half HD +1 +other relevant bonuses per level (D6=4 D8=5 D10=6 D12=7 etc)

option 3
Roll HP twice per level and take the better result

in the dark lands of Ustalav, Baron Maximillian Moonwhisper's Niece had a cursed birth, and traveling cultists of Lamashtu seek to sacrifice the young girl to thier goddess and spread madness over Golarion.

i am looking for 4-6 players. well rounded characters are more likely to be picked than one trick ponies. but that doesn't mean you should gimp yourself as a master of none. i can handle a bit of specialization, but please don't go too overboard with it.

Character Creation Guidelines.:

Write a minimum of 3 paragraphs Explaining your Connection to the Eccentric Baron Maximillian Moonwhisper and why you decided to protect his frail, young, shadow tainted niece, Lady Umbriere Nera Nox Astrum Lunas Moonwhisper.

character creation is 25 point buy with an additional feat, no starting attribute above 18 after racial modifiers and none below 8 after racial modifiers without a good reason. Key Word is After.

traits will not be used.

every PC also gets a DM boon upon finishing thier submission.

Allowed Races Are Core Races, plus any of the reasonable races from the first 2 bestiaries. stuff along the lines of Aasimaar, Normal Drow, and Fetchlings are fine. Drow Nobles, Svirneblin, and similar races of greater power are not permitted

Characters will start off 5th level with a starting equipment budget of 12,000 gold pieces, no more than 3,000 of which maybe spent on an individual item. if you want a custom item, you must propose it to me and show me the formula for the cost. obvious cheating like the ring of continuous true striking is not allowed. items may come from the allowed books for classes and feats.

Allowed books for classes and Feats include the Core Rulebook, the Advanced Player's Guide, Ultimate Magic and Ultimate Combat. but you must link me each piece of material you use so i can read it. called shots will not be allowed, but you may utilize piecemeal armor and firearms if you wish.

there will be no XP, you will level when i say you level.

even though no classes are truly banned, there are some i would advise against.:

i would advise against using the gunslinger and other gun using variants because firearms are currently kind of rare and wondrous thing recently discovered and thus wouldn't be as readily available in treasure hordes.

i would also advise that martial classes focus on more than just combat and keep an additional backup weapon or 2 of a different type. skills will be needed as well and not dumping charisma too low can save your life due to the expected travel and bargaining.

i wouldn't reccomend using the summoner class or similar class that uses extra creatures. it just doesn't make combat fun, and as a somewhat inexperienced DM, i don't wish to read the rules on eidolons.

i would advise against evil characters, but if you can explain a good case for your evil character, i might consider it. but please, no trigger happy homocidal psychopaths.

other notes:

the opponents will mostly be humanoid in anatomy, and expect few truly monstrous races to be used.

i may come across as a little brutal. so as a gift to the party, i offer a numerian defibrillator with 5 charges per day and a solar powered battery. functions as a true ressurection spell but the charges recover each day at noon. due to it's wierd design and seal of Baron Moonwhisper, it cannot be sold.

Social Encounters will be fairly important as well. they won't be the primary focus, but they will offer thier own rewards based on how you accomplish them.

i know that naming a character is a difficult process, if i use names that sound Sueish, Cliche, or Unoriginal, it is because i didn't want to put up too much effort in naming

some NPCs will not be statted, Such as Her Excellency. her Excellency was too ill to complete her first bard level.

the auditions will last until Monday, December 12th, 2011.

this thread was inspired by a debate with Vodoomike

here are my questions

1; how important is an attribute bonus to you? try to answer for both one synergistic to your class, and one you don't care about

2; how many/how high of attribute bonuses would you desire before giving up a level?

3; if you had to give up only a single level and take on a +1 level adjustment to take the advanced creature template, would you, Why?

4; do you beleive attributes are the only thing that matters when optimizing? are they even the primary thing? what about when you reach the point where you have so many other bonuses to play with?

5; what does a lost class level mean to you?

6; do you really think i'm a powergamer? do you mean it as a compliment or insult?

the Nekogami, this time using the race creation guidelines from the playtest. it's not as minmaxed as you would expect a homebrew race to be. and these aren't your traditional Nekos. they are the descendants of the child goddess of Tigers. whom was a human monk that achieved godhood in her youth. but that doesn't mean they are designed to be the perfect monk. this race is intended to be of Tian Origin and can be used in your oriental campaigns with a little adaption of the fluff.

Racial Info:

Nekogami (10 Race points total, standard race)

Type. Outsider (Native) (2 race points) (Darkvision comes free with package)

Size; Medium (0 race points)

+2 Strength +2 Dexterity (2 race points) (See Flexible ability score trait)

Fast Speed (1 race point) 40 feet total base speed

Language (Xenophobic) (0 race points) Tien (racial language) Bonus Languages, Sylvan, Common, Elven, Aklo

Nekogami receive a bonus feat at first level for which they meet the prerequisites (4 race points)

Darkvision 60 feet (part of native outsider package)

Weapon Familiarity (1 race point) (Nekogami are proficient with the Katana and Wakizashi)

Golarion Fluff:

Nekogami are the Biologically diluted mortal Descendants of Lady Shuriken of House Nekogami of the Minkai Empire. They are Typically Slight of frame with dark hair, yellow tinted skin, toned wiry muscles, and hazel hued eyes. They typically take the life of a monk, ninja, or fighter. Most Nekogami tend to be Vigorous with the ferocity of a Tiger in combat. They usually tend to live in human dominated sections within the Minkai empire and a few exist elsewhere. Female Nekogami are typically smaller in bust and rump as an adaption to increase their mobility. And due to the fact that male Nekogami have a hard time growing facial hair. Some of them take pride in what facial hair they have, protecting it with the vigor a lion has for his main. They are strong and agile, unlike what their wiry frames would suggest. They appear almost human, with the exception of their major feline tendencies. It’s the women that do the hunting and act as the dominant sex. And the men tend to protect the children and take over when their partner is incapacitated. They think like a predator, seeing their victims as prey to assist in sustaining them, are as Vigorous as a tiger, and tend to have conservative tendencies derived from a combination of their heightened metabolism, practical lifestyle, desire to avoid unwanted attention, and preference for comfortable, loose fitting garb. A simple robe usually suffices for either gender.

New Deity:

New Minor Deity. Nekogami Shuriken L/N

Nekogami Shuriken is the Child Goddess of Tigers, the Hunt, and pleasure Derived through Trial. She is of Lawful Neutral Alignment and is a Subcontractor of the gods, Irori, Erastil, and Zon Kuthon. In life, she was a human monk whom had reached godhood in her youth and is a minor Goddess.

Shuriken Nekogami’s Favored Weapon is the unarmed strike. If a divine class offers proficiency in her favored weapon (such as cleric or inquisitor for example). They gain improved unarmed strike as a bonus feat. Her domains are Darkness, Animal (must choose a Tiger as an animal companion), Healing, and Liberation.

i already know this race uses a single 1 point advanced ability. but i am sure it can slide in this case. it's just a bit of extra speed that only applies on land.

i am looking for opinions, though just because i hear an opinion doesn't mean i will follow it.

Lantern Lodge

i am looking for a rise of the runelords (or other varisia related PBP) PBP on these boards to play my aasimaar oracle.

i can easily adapt her statistics once given the chance.

and yes, i am serious about making her Nualia's younger cousin.

3 people marked this as a favorite.

i have several Aliases that bring back bad memories. most of which i wish i could put in this box that i could hide from myself and those around me. these aliases tend to wrack at my very sanity.

please include an 'ignore this alias' box. so that i may ignore looking at various bothersome aliases.

i am looking for a pathfinder PBP to join

here are some halfway premade characters that may be easily adapted that i may contribute.

Kira Moonsong, a female elf crossblooded sorceress (air elemental/bronze dragon), spoiled minor noble whose powers kicked in early in life. her parents spoiled her as an attempt to calm her down. she is irrational, impulsive, immature and she lacks common sense. her family took precautions to reduce the effect of her 'static charge' which has no effect in game mechanics, it just unsettle's npcs.

Jack, a male chelexian meteor hammer fighter, a mercenary motivated by cold hard cash who tries his best to keep his enemies on the ground.

Luminiere Argence Solaras Dawnbringer II, female aasimaar oracle of life, think flonne, naive goodie 2 shoes with a love and kindness obscession. gives random irrelevant lectures when something bad happens. a noncombatant who prefers to heal because she refuses to willingly shed blood.

Umbriere Nera Nox Astrum Lunas Moonwhisper IV, female fetchling bard, focuses on messing with peoples minds like they are merely marionettes. serves as the face and noncombat skill monkey, useless in combat.

Nekogami Shuriken, female Tian Rogue, wears a black kimono and carries a spring loaded dagger (think assassin's creed). serves as a potential scout, trapfinder, face and eventually, a tertiary healer (UMD)

Kurogetsu Yamiko, Tian Inquisitor of Zon Kuthon, serves as a secondary fighter via spiked chain and divine buffs

Nekogami Kodachi, Tian flavored human greatsword fighter. uses a 'nodachi' to bisect her foes and is otherwise, an iconic greatsword fighter.

Ichigo Shinko, Tian Miko or Shrine Maiden, (Essentially a Concept Cleric). fights evil outsiders with a spiked Tetsubo (see morningstar) and has the destruction and restoration domains. restoration is a subdomain of healing

Or Sylphenia, female elven rogue going for wizard and arcane trickster, basically an exotic agent of (insert setting approriate government here) sent to keep the PCs under surveilance.

i still need to pick feats, traits, skills, and gear for all of them. but these are rough characters of which i will let the DM choose based on what he feels the party needs. they are all 20 point buy (except Nox) but i can adapt them accordingly.

here is my new take on the Nekogami inspired by a series of freeform characters of mine (toned down in comparison to them) who were descended from the god of all things feline. i tried to balance these guys against planetouched. specifically the Ifrit and the Suli

NEKOGAMI RACIAL TRAITS::

+2 Dexterity, +2 wisdom, Nekogami are nimble and tend to have keen senses.

Outsider (Native) (Yokai) a Nekogami is an outsider native to the material plane, they are not affected by spells that specifically target humanoids, whether they be harmful or beneficial. In addition, they have the Yokai subtype.

medium size, no bonuses or penalties due to size

Darkvision 60 feet, this works exactly like the dwarf/half orc ability by the same name

Observant; Nekogami receive +2 on Perception and Sense Motive checks, in addition, a Nekogami may make an additional active perception or sense motive check once per round as a swift action.

Mobile; Nekogami Receive a +2 on Acrobatics and Escape artist checks, in addition, a Nekogami's base land speed is 40 feet. which is faster than normal for her size category.

Nekogami Weapon familiarity; being an outsider, a Nekogami is proficient with all simple and martial weapons, additionally, they may choose a single exotic weapon appropriate to their home region and consider themselves proficient with that weapon. or In place of an exotic weapon, they can instead choose to have a pair of claw attacks that deal 1d6 points of slashing damage each as primary natural weapons

Eternal Youth; a Nekogami permanently stops aging upon adulthood. She has no age categories and cannot die from age, she is also immune to aging effects. Different Nekogami specimens may appear to be of different age categories, but this has no effect upon their statistics. for example, some could appear to be old wise men, or others could appear to be young prepubescent girls, this is purely cosmetic and has no impact upon their statistics.

Pass for Human; A Nekogami counts as a human when a specific racial prerequisite is required for anything in particular, whether it be feats, magic items, a racial prestige class or whatever. In addition, they gain no penalty on disguise checks made to pass themselves off as a human. this does not allow them to be affected by spells that affect humans nor does it serve as a backdoor to human racial abilities such as skilled or the bonus feat. A Nekogami may (upon character creation) choose whether or not to have the ears of a feline creature. These ears are concealable at will (as a free action) and provide no real mechanical bonus or penalty.

Automatic Languages: Common, Feline, 1 regional human language of their choice; Bonus languages; Any (including secret languages such as Druidic or Thieves Cant)

many people believe this race was initially intended to minmax a rogue.

nope. it's initial 3.5 version was technically built to be an effective shadow hand swordsage. it's original version had some very good (yet shoehorning) abilities for +1 ECL that i dropped (for pathfinder)

human's skilled racial ability
free weapon finesse
slight build (reverse powerful build)
free combat bonuses with a wakazashi
halfling save bonus
and scent

if you were willing to be a wakazashi wielding shadow hand swordsage. this used to be the perfect race for it.

something i'm sure that plenty of people want to see

a setting neutral hardcover completely devoted to PC races

here are some things i would like to see in there

reprinted stats for the 0Hd monsters in the bestiary many wish to use as PC races. maybe readapted for PC use. like kobolds, orcs, drow, and planetouched for example.

reprinted stats for variant races in the companions or adventure paths

whole new PC races (maybe including adaptions of fan made ones)

variant racial abilities, racial feats, race traits and favored class options for all of said races

ecology entry of said races

multiple different descriptions to accomodate different images one may have of the same race. maybe some want thier planetouched to look more human, while others want more outsider in them.

a deliberate failure to include stuff like the drow noble (which is too good for PC use).

and a set of guidelines for making new PC races

in Weekly William's Saturday game, my inquisitor died on may 21st and now, i have some shocking news about my new character who just got his first session beneath his belt. i had a stand in PC during the in between part.

my replacement character is:

He is Not Female

He is Not Japanese

and He is Not A Child nor does he resemble one in any way

other news

Weekly Williams Group dropped from 8 players to 6

The PCs we lost were

Yagami Iori, male human (tian) cleric of irori

and Grendel, male half elf (varisian) ranger

Remaining PCs (all ECL 9)

Thorkinson (Dale), Male Dwarven axe and sheild fighter, Highest AC in the party. functions due to DM handouts in the form of tailored equipment. the most geared PC in the whole party

Eva (Aaron), Female Dwarven axe and shield Duskblade, does the least damage of the primary combatants, completely forgets about channeling spells and drops a lot of rays, loves blade of blood

Dazrou (Kevin) male Human (varisian) sorcerer, loves to burn things, uses little else, blows through resources

Rama (Javier) male human (vudrani) psionicist, loves grease and summoning astral constructs, blows through resources

Mandrake (Seth) Female Illumian (i assume either chelexian or varisian) binder/focused transmuter (banned evocation, enchantment and necromancy)/ anima mage, provides all the utility and support to make the melee combatants nastier.

Sven (Me) Male Human (Ulfen) Greatsword Fighter, has a few 3.5 feats, heaviest hitter in the whole party, the newest PC, has 1 session under his belt. he is around 24 and both the tallest and heaviest person in the whole party at a height of 7 feet and a weight of 300 pounds. has the second best armor class in the whole party. his only stat below 10 is his charisma of 8.

if you wish to post your party makeup and any recent changes, go ahead.

Weekly william not only lets PCs play with 25 point buy, he allows every piece of 3.5 material you can prove a quick case for. and yes, he is crazy enough to allow the spell compendium.

other changes of note

the campaign was initially low on treasure, now we have loads of it, most of it is just not the big 6.

i am looking for a pathfinder PBP, well more like multiple

paizo adventure paths would be my preference

25 point buy is my preffered, but i am willing to settle for 20 or 2d6+6

looking for a lenient DM who allows my oddball concepts, even if they involve some 0HD bestiary race or 3rd party class.

1. a giant (x2), advanced, half celestial emperor penguin paladin of Iomedae. (bumped to medium size)

genre saavy and likes waffles, would serve as the party tank.

2. a tian descended aasimaar oracle flavored as a shrine maiden with hair and eyes colored strawberry red, who dressed in a strawberry red Miko's raiment and calls herself the strawberry child of death

3. a large sized anthropomorphic labrador retriever with a massive Axe and or Hammer and a strawberry addiction

4. noble catgirl vampire loli gothloli vampire sorceress

5. an ethnically confused ifrit fire sorceress with mixed genes from every human subrace who randomly changes her ethnicity at random moments triggered by her short temper.

6. a catgirl ronin whose younger sister keeps dissapearing at the most inconvenient moments.

7. a male catfolk swordsage innkeeper.

8. sickly living doll who dances the flamenca, has mariachi cohort, and lives on a diet of Tea, Pizza, and Gellato

it's just that, i am looking for 1001 glitches with todays players, whether socially, playstyle wise, or whatever. please join in if you wish

0001 references some MMO or other similar thing

0002 characters never bathe or take potty breaks. that's what predestigitation spells are for.

0003 rule of cool, players care more about the awesome factor than they do the rules

0004 loot goggles, expect players to kill and loot everything they see. regardless of the character's alignment nor motivations

0005. 'point and click' syndrome. players want everything to be a simple process of 'point and click'.

0006 lessened creativity. basically with the amazing simplicity of modern games, players are less innovative and thus require dumbed down encounters.

0007 never split the party under any circumstance, even to go to a different weaponsmith across the street. expect the same inn room to be shared by a huge entourage of player characters.

0008. own only 1 set of clothing or armor and wear it 24/7. even if it is plate.

i am looking for any of the following adventure path pbps on these boards

Carrion Crown, Legacy of Fire, Jade regent (when it comes out) or Kingmaker.

looking for a lenient mature DM who doesn't mind creepy pcs and allows for quite a few things.

looking for a group that has no enmity towards anime.

here is the OOC thread for my magical girl pbp.

since all settings may eventually be accomodated in the constant plane hopping.

it matters not where you come from, you just need a hook that sends you the constantly changing city of Lisgi. a city between planes that constantly changes in a fashion similar to the maelstrom.

this pbp will be the opposite of serious and you can ask any questions you feel like.

i expect there to be more roleplay than combat seeking, but most combats will be up against humanoid opponents anyway. and i will try my best to improvise though some things may need planning.

i, the wolfman am offering to run a homebrewed improvised planescapy magical girls campaign.

everything will be improvised, no maps, figures nor intense planning.

the following character creation goodies are given

everybody starts out 6th level with 50 point buy and 20,000 gold worth of starting equipment and a free bonded object. no stat is allowed to fall below 12 after racial modifiers. everybody gets 4 traits, no more than 2 of which may come from the same category.

the following 3.5 edition unearthed arcana variants are used

reserve points

class defense bonus

any sentient offical pathfinder race (including 0 hit die monsters from bestiary 1 and 2) is allowed except the drow noble, svirfneblin and similarly powerful races

your pc must be a young girl, by racial standards, no younger than '9' and no older than '14' (or racial equivalents)

your bonded object can be any item type you wish of which you can afford the crafting cost

item creation feats are otherwise banned as are save or die spells, save or suck is fine though

everybody gets to gestalt 1 full spellcasting class but thier other half must be either a noncaster or partial caster

prestige classes are banned

xp is non existent, you level when i think your deeds are sufficient to do so.

stacking multiple powers onto your bonded object has a 20% discount instead of a 50% markup.

any material used must have been published by paizo.

Many people mistake me for a Pedophile, but i am not, but here are my true fantasies and thier symbolisms. i confess the following info.

here are the true fantasies behind my characters.

Most of my 'child' pcs have had some kind of 'Outsider' or other kind of 'otherwordly being' in thier background. this resembles the extremely pure angelic being i seek to corrupt, who may not neccessarily be a child, as children are a modern measuring stick of purity, i use this measuring stick as a visual cue to the other players.

Most of them have features that most people would Deem as 'fetish fuel', the extremely pure 'angelic being' must have an appealing reason to make somebody desire to corrupt thier purity and caused the eventual fall from grace, whether it be a potential earned perk or an odd character quirk

children are also not quite emotionally stable, i like my angelic beings tender, whether or not they actually be children, and this is a sign of tenderness, it's also fun to RP the tears that come when they see something wrong

angelic beings are immortal, and never age after a certain point, a perpetually tender, sweet pure angelic being waiting for the process of corruption. perpetual childlike appearances are a visual cue through means of description

i like to RP the being's eventual fall from grace, slowly and steadily, this represents my fantasies of slowly corrupting the 'angelic being' to my whims

i like the character to survive long enough to reach thier fall from grace, this never happens because they die just before i feel like eventually completing the process of thier fall from grace

i like to describe and RP the sudden transformation that comes from the fall, as the now fully tainted angelic being has completed her metamorphosis

i like the chance to RP the newly transformed being with all the attached baggage i feel neccessary. for example, that once pure young angelic being is now a scion of envy who wishes to take what others have. and showcases her envy for the fighter's combat ability, the sorcerer's innate magical power or the druids feral conveniences, it's also fun to play the optionally attached split personality

sometimes, i get the wrong kind of thrill from this process, but it's not the fact that the PC is a child, it's the case of an 'angelic being' slowly falling from grace that provides the thrill. the PC being a 'child' is merely a visual cue to showcase the innocence, purity, and tenderness of the 'angelic being' being corrupted

in reality, i just happen to have fantasies about corrupting angelic beings (or thier equivalents) and all of my characters have had some kind of otherworldly ancestry. these fantasies have nothing to do with pedophelia.

this past Saturday, febuary 19th 2011. only half or our relatively poorly optimized group showed. 4 out of 8 players.

the four that showed were

a dwarven duskblade blood magus 5/2

my tian inquisitor 7 of Zon-Kuthon

a varisian sorcerer 7

and a venerable vudrani psionicist (nomad) 7

we were on a sidequest involving a cult of lamashtu (how cliche)

we get engaged with some of the cultists.

all the cultists were chaotic evil and either clerics or rogue/assassins.

my inquisitor attempts to approach engage head cultist. even with my movement, the cultist is out of my reach.

the darn npc (despite being chaotic evil) somehow gets to both take a move action and summon a satyr (chaotic good) in the same round.

without even a charisma check to influence it on the cultists part, the Satyr casts a g%$*##n fear spell on my inqusitor. forcing me to drop my hard earned yet impossible to replace spiked chain and flee in panic by GM interpretation of Fear Effect= Run Away. i didn't even get a save to stave off the effect once afflicted. the party used 80% of thier resources on what would have been a CR appropriate fight if my inquisitor wasn't subject to that fear spell. it was a near TPK because of one 4th level spell cast by a summoned creature.

i would like to suggest a nerf the the 4th level spell "Fear."

make it allow a new save every round (ala glitterdust and hideous laughter)

Fear is still a little too good for it's spell level.

please paizo, please nerf the darn spell.

if our fighter had been there to play main tank instead of my inquisitor. it would have been him who chucked his core rulebook at the DM's face.

save or die spells don't necessarily have to kill a character, just take them out of the fight. and being completely unable to fight due to a G+&~$~n low level spell is just a serious problem that made me chuck my core rulebook at the DM like an improvised thrown bludgeoning weapon. i at least got the book back.

please post an errata that finishes nerfing all of there save or die/save or suck spells you promised to nerf. don't leave this one low level spell that can effectively quadruple the amount of resources in a fight.

and post another errata that says that somebody casting summon monster cannot summon a creature with an aligment opposed to thier own in either Axis. similar to the one step behind rule for clerics.

PS; as much as i wish to place a whole bunch of profanities in my post. i beleive the boards will not allow me to and finding similar, more socially acceptable words is a problem for me.

trick #2

tick off monster resources as appropriate for the day

too often do we see monsters who appear too "fresh" and "fully stocked" to properly immerse.

wear and tear isn't something that only happens to the pcs.

if an encounter ticks off 20% of a pc's resources. a similar ruling could be made for monsters.

if pcs aren't always going to have all thier cards on the table, the monsters should suffer similar issues.

monsters can be fatigued, wounded, or use up spells just like pcs can.

i beleive that it is not fudging for a monster to have less resources for an encounter than they do for the day.

monsters can lose resources too.

ticking off hit points, spell slots, or other monster resources as apropriate or even making a monster fatigued or exhausted could help. and not all monsters are awake 24/7 either.

it is perfectly possible to ambush an NPC wizard when he is low on spells. it need not be only the PC's this happens to.

in your primary group (or any other that you join) what is your party made up of.

fluff is optional, the main things i am looking for are race, class, a rough description of build and tactics and key notes. you need not post a build if you do not know it, just what type of build that character is in an understanable term.

here is my saturday party with weekly william the slowly evolving grognard. (all pcs are 6th level) expect any 3.5. classes to be just like thier 3.5 counterparts but with a roughly pathfinderized skill list, any folded skills benefit from the whole skill (warlocks having acrobatics) and skills like concentration/binding/truenaming turned into level checks.

Female Human (Tian) Inquisitor of Zon Kuthon, Melee build, uses 3.5 version of spiked chain combined with outflank and gang up. was a swordsage before certain events required me to remake her. (a religious experience combined with DM plot Fiat and a certain location) the main damage dealer of the party and she is one of the only "Little Girls" to make the prince of Ustalav Soil Himself in fear without any active effort. she is the youngest party member at the age of 17. though she looks closer to 12 due to her slight build, soft features and taste for loose fitting black winter weight furisode kimonos that feature minor elements of Gothic Lolita, Kuro Lolita and Wa Lolita fashion. if i hadn't proposed remaking her as an inquisitor of Zon-Kuthon, DM would have Remade her as a Chaotic Evil NPC cleric of Lamashtu.

Female Dwarven Duskblade/blood magus, Goes for dwarven waraxe and heavy shield, has died multiple times and just had to multiclass blood magus. died on purpose just to become one, player knows that the combination has no synergy whatsoever and plays it anyway, even to the DM's dislike. daughter of the city guard captain

Female Illumian Binder/Focused Transmuter/Anima Mage, banned schools are evocation, necromancy, and enchantment, somehow able to cast 3rd level spells and bind 3rd level vestiges. at a character level of 6. trivializes encounters through save or massively be screweds (such as slow or web) the party leader by the player's sheer force of personality (character has some too) noble of high political influence

Venerable Male Human (Vudrani) Psionicist (Nomad) of Irori. uses a lot of astral constructs and battlefield control. will eventually pick up utility spells and minmaxed his intellegence (int 26 at level 6)

Male 1/2 Elf Switch Hitter Ranger/Rogue (roughly a 50/50 split). Due to DM misinterpretation of elven blood, this guy got free poficiency in the elven curveblade. frequently swaps between that and a longbow as needed. abandoned an arranged marriage and abandoned his own family

Male Dwarven Axe and Board Fighter. Dwarven Waraxe and Heavy Shield. Wears plate. overinvested in strength and constitution to the detriment of his other stats. his will saves are the second lowest, lowest going to the switch hitter. character is a former pimp and succeeded in pimping a goat.

Male Human (Varisian) Sorcerer (Aberrant), picks up a lot of damage dealing spells and rolls poorly every time. he is the one sorcerer who can fail to land a touch attack on the clumsiest of collossal dragons. relative of an influential merchant family, knows where to find good deals.

Male Human (Tian) Cleric of Irori. Serves as the party's moral conscience, has 50/50 chance of absence, forgets he can use his spells too and constantly creates blast runes that deal highly inneffective damage. he has yet to scribe scrolls. has the healing and rune domains. has positive numbers in every attribute and no true dump stat. loves his Hanbo too. he thanks me for helping him design his character at 1st level. grew up at the same monastery as the inquisitor and the psionicist. the inquisitor was the only one of the 3 to fall from grace.

and the temporary party guest

A male Human (Ethnicity unknown) Archery Ranger. he was a former member of the group before he had to move, he is back for a week or few before he has to move elsewhere again. he doesn't even realize that he can deadly aim for extra damage. he pretty much hits everything automatically and is effectively unhindered by cover due to his seeking composite longbow.
