As Kitajo whispers his observations, the kitsune begins to get an idea...

Turning to the calm face, he leans in close with his pistol in hand, waving it in front of the face as he whispers in a low, menacing voice.

"Hey bub, I don't know why you're looking so calm when there's an undead taint spreading through this forest, but I can tell that you ain't exactly able to put the hurt on the source of it. Now us, we got the ability to bring the hurt and then some. That guy over there, shoots lightning like he's a walking storm-cloud, and that one over there breaks trees like your's with this kicks - for practice! And me, I got a few caps I wanna pop into something. So here's how it's gonna work. You can show us you're helpful and tell us where the source of the blight is, and we can bring those hurty stuff to the blighter and try to end this, or you can piss us off by being unhelpful, in which case I can't guarantee we won't vent our frustrations on you. Shiv moves a little further back to give Rallas some cover fire with his bow as Rallas tries to escape the vines. If the foliage is granting the monster cover, he readies an action to shoot once it gets closer (either out of the foliage or once it attacks an ally).

Shiv walks over to the edge of the pit, ready to shoot one of the kobolds, but when he notices the dragon's chest heave just a little as it draws breath, he decides it would be best to finish it off once and for all - rather than risk one of the kobolds somehow administering healing to bringing it back to consciousness.

Shiv gives a low growl when the fey king suggests he was grovelling.

"Ain't too wise to mistake a pragmatic statement for grovelling, but if you don't like the friendly tone, maybe you'll get it if I put it more plainly. We're going to fight a dragon and his kobolds. These guys are on YOUR lands. Maybe we win, and your own people wonder why the heck their own king didn't do squat to protect them. Was a weakness or did he just not care. And you best hope you don't have detractors, as if kings and queens never have detractors. But hey that's your BEST case scenario. Worst case? We lose and the start attacking YOUR people, and if you thought things would be inconvenient if we won without you, you better believe it's gonna be a lot worst in the alternative - they're defnitely gonna see ya as a weak king."

"That make better sense to ya? 'Cos you better also believe that if any of those detractors are here in attendance, they just heard what I said and are taking notes. And right now, what your people are thinking right now is - is our king weak?"

Shiv speaks to the fey monarchs in Sylvan, hoping his fluency in their tongue will net him some brownie points. Or some brownies.

"Your majesties, kobolds attack your woods, and we are told a dragon is behind them as well. You know well that a single dragon is enough to bring substantial and lasting change to the land, devastating everything that comes near, and you cannot think that your own will remain untouched. Help us end this threat within your own lands, for all our sakes!"

"No sense wasting good gunpowder on these cretins," he thinks to himself.

"Kobolds, eh? Pesky vermin."

Shiv notes that backing Medda's play would be the best course of action to make inroads on the other elders.

"This Medda guy's got the right of it. Ya ain't just watching over a dying landscape. You're here 'cos there's something that needs defending against. Besides, if ya think life's gonna be better elsewhere, well always easy to think that, until you realise that here on Golarion there's monsters everywhere. Least here you know what you're fighting, and know that you're fighting against something worth fighting against."

Gonna use 2 actions to try to influence Medda twice. Hopefully this will get us the 2 successes.

Turning to Kragr, Shiv tries to appeal to his courage as a warrior.

"Look buddy, I know you just wanna look after your people, but there will always be one or two idiots who will misconstrue your good intentions as fear, and then they go tell some other idiots and pretty soon everyone starts wondering whether those idiot were right. Gonna be a heck of a downer for your warriors in battle if they have even the slightest doubt about their leader's courage."

Shiv sees that his allies are doing well and decides to save his tricks for a more difficult battle. He draws a bead on the badly-wounded necrocraft and lets loose an arrow, moving if necessary to get a clearer shot.

Shiv sees that the queen is still completely unconvinced and attempts to see if he can help the situation.

"You majesty, I can see that you are cautious, but as you say, the dragons are a threat to your own people. As queen, surely you care for the safety of your subjects? Moreover, we are not talking about just one more white dragon, but a whole new brood. Surely the the sudden introduction of so many of such devastating predators to your domain will disrupt the natural order of things here, as well as endanger your subjects?"

We already bagged ourselves a drake the other day, but if we're gonna be fighting true dragons, we could probably use an extra combatant."

Preferring to save his arrows, Shiv walks closer to Red (or Green, or Yellow, pick one that is still conscious if Red is down), drawing his club as he moves and hurls it at the kobold's head.

Steeling himself, he takes a deep breath and trudges into the darkness with the others, his hand glowing with positive energy as he reaches out to touch the skeleton.

Shiv darts around the edge of the darkness warily to get a clear line of fire on the skeleton. His clubs aren't the best for ranged combat, but they still fly better than most heavy objects and serve just fine for breaking bones that should no longer be moving...

Shiv runs up towards the last skeleton, and readies an action to peg his club at the skeleton if it gets within range.

Shiv grumbles about skeletons and their lack of pierceable organs as he puts away his bow and moves up, drawing his club along the way.

He is still grumbling to himself when, a few minutes later, a cry sounds out from the Kellid warriors and they join the fray.

"Huh. I guess they changed their minds after all. Alright! Let's get these... what the!? What was that? A drake? You mean like a dragon? Oh heck yeah, I know how to deal with those."

The kitsune's eyes begin to glow as he nocks an arrow to his bow and fires.

Shiv presses his point to Kragr.

"Mate, you guys aren't the only ones fighting horrors. We've got crusaders in Mendev fighting demons. And there's your brothers the Snowmask kellids, as well as the Ulfen, who keep the Irrisen witches at bay. Heck, even in cities you gotta deal with diseases and thieves and muggers. Wasn't too long ago that even our Grand Lodge in Absalom got attacked by aspis agents and extraplanar monsters. Our Master of Spells even got killed. You think any place is really safe?"

"Thing is, Golarion needs heroes. Ain't no place that's safe, 'cept the places that we fight to make safe. You go some place else, what happens? If the land is owned by other people, they see you as invaders and they fight you off, and they'd kinda have a point 'cos they'd be fighting for their home. Or else you find a place to settle only to find that there are monsters you don't know how to fight in a land you don't know how to fight in. You can choose to fight here 'cos it's your home, and your heritage is here, and you can make the Twinhorns a rallying point and a beacon of pride for the Kellids - we'll help you do that. Or you could just leave after we've come all this way to help you, 'cos that's cool."

Shiv leans back to take a peak outside the tent, then turns back to Kragr again.

"Look. There's a rift on this plane, we're fighting an army of undead. And I've got a bow and arrow. None of this makes any sense. But I'm going back out there 'cos I'm a warrior and there's an enemy needs fighting. But I can't fight and help you find your resolve at the same time. You wanna stay here or retreat, that's your call. But if you go out there, you show us, and you show your warriors, whether Twinhorn warriors are worth a damn."

Leaving Kragr to think about things, he picks up his bow, checks the arrows left in his quiver, and then gets ready to get back to fighting.

Interesting. The warrior is the diplomatic one? But first...

"Gnome! Shut UP! NOW!" Shiv snarls as he snaps his teeth in her face menacingly and chases her away from the kellid warrior.

"On the other hand, if you stand with us today, then after this is done, we can help you bring word to the other Kellid followings, and across Golarion as well. We've got pretty good networks, and this here's gonna make for a pretty epic chronicle anyway. The sacrifices of your people up to now will be known to everyone, and we can help inspire the other followings to join you in your fight every solstice. Heck, we'll even tell the Pharasmins and Sarenrites that there are undead popping up here every year so they get involved too. This will bring honour to your fallen, rally allies to your yearly battle and establish the Twinhorns as a leader amongst Kellid followings. That's something worth fighting for, ain't it?"

Shiv steps between Ayla and the Kellid warrior to cut her off before she makes the situation any worse.

"Don't mind the gnome. You know how they are. The best of them are still nutcases, and this one certainly ain't one of the best. Although, seems odd to me that a guy with the name 'Bloodhand' don't wanna fight. So what's the story?"
