We haven't forgotten about the glyph tag, it's simply gotten misplaced in the shuffle between sites. The following scenarios should be treated as though they have the glyph tag and we will update as soon as possible. Thank you!
Pathfinder Society Scenario #7-05: The Battle of the Thorns
Pathfinder Society Scenario #7-10: Shattered Blades
Pathfinder Society Scenario #7-22: The Handmaiden's Gaze
Shay: Hello Corn has discovered the boneless couch and how close he can be to me
Luis:boneless couch????
Shay: It's got no bones!
Alex: is your couch not boneless, luis
Luis: I GUESS
Very interesting beginnings and endings. This month.
I do believe that the reference to Deskari's fallen parent should be mother has his father is Pazuzu. And his scythe Riftcraver was also made from the corpse of his mother.
If I rolled high enough on my Recall Knowledge:Lore Demon Lords.
Can I get GM to check my roll please?
I think you're right. Unless someone killed Pazuzu and nobody noticed.
What about those of us who are under contract with House Thrune....? Is it possible that we might serve as double agents...or at least moderate the Society's response, given we don't want to burn too many bridges of our own?
Alright, let's turn this around. Let's talk about where we want to explore! I love exploring the setting of a game deeply, meeting NPCs, seeing cool places, immersing myself in a new culture and feeling a part of a new place.
I appreciate this post! Part of the trick of walking into a position in the middle of an event (like Year 4!) is that you’re sort of playing catch-up and just grabbing at loose threads, haha. I love seeing what people want to see and explore <3
On the note of 'adjust obvious typos or errors in a scenario' - the editing quality has gone down drastically in recent years. Please put more funding to editors and don't make GMs do the work that ought to be done in house. And when errors are found in scenarios after release, it's not like you're reprinting books - just update the PDFs.
As to formatting the text. Things that are listed in the bulleted sections (use alternate maps, fix typos) should not ALSO be listed in the header paragraph. Duplication leads to bloat and errors years down the road.
"Please keep any commentary respectful and on-topic" was the end portion of Alex's post. I'm going to be exceedingly honest here, the PFS community's insistence on insulting the abilities of our Editing team repeatedly is rude and disrespectful, and also I have yet to see proof that the editing quality has gone downhill. As someone who came from the Editing team to the OrgPlay team, I have seen not only the quality of our hardworking editors, but I have also seen the sheer quantity of corrections that they catch that people outside of Paizo would never think to even look for.
If you are someone who doesn't know how the sausage is made, updating our PDFs is not as easy as a simple edit and publish. If it were, updates would be made this way.
It's been brought to my attention that there's some disapproval over the development team not coming into this specific forum to provide clarifications where needed. As I can only speak for myself, I'd like to state that there unfortunately aren't enough hours in the workday that allow for the completion of my Organized Play tasks and for me to peruse this forum and provide answers.
I am aware that developers did this in the past, however since unionization we here at Paizo have pushed for better work/life balances and encouraging employees to be able to log off and step away.
We have enabled GMs to make calls at their tables where things are unclear, and we trust in y'all's abilities to speak with each other and come up with decisions for future tables while also giving advice to other GMs who may run into issues.
(As an aside: We are aware of the Foundry updates/PDF updates issue, we're working on it, but there's currently no answer to provide.)
Those last issues also apply to Hogwarts, so maybe it was a deliberate riff? I remember playing the Harry Potter video game adaptations, and all the professors were like, "Today we will be learning the Expelliarmus spell. Harry, please crawl through this small hole in the wall, go through the obstacle course full of giant swinging axe blades and rabid monsters, and retrieve the Expelliarmus spellbook. And then duel Malfoy when you're done." And then no one else has to do it and class is dismissed.
Absolutely not. None of the scenarios I develop will ever reference or riff off of that franchise.
I'm surpised we didn't get a welcome to our many new Poppet recruits. Well, if the resident Venture-Gossip won't step up, I will. Welcome, Poppet Pathfinders!
(Seriously, could we get an official anouncement that Poppets are 0 ACP now that isn't a livestream or a changelong on lorespire?)
So, I wrote this blog about a month ago, and we haven’t had an OP update blog since the official announcement was made at PaizoCon. From part of the Pathfinder Society team, I’m asking y’all to be just a little patient with us. It has been a week since the official announcement, I haven’t been in the office, so it’s just Josh and Alex holding down the fort. It’s coming, we promise!
I'd love to dive back in this season but wish there was a recap of some sorts of the developments since Year One Second Edition? The only thing I recall from Year One is the Mosquito Witch.
Either way, looking forward to the new season!
On the Pathfinder Society site, there's a section called "the Story so Far" which gives a brief recap of each season!
The sidebar on page 21 should read as:
To adjust for the PCs’ overall strength, use the following Challenge Point adjustments. These adjustments are not cumulative.
10–11 Challenge Points: Add one babau to the encounter.
12–13 Challenge Points: Add one nabasu to the encounter.
14–15 Challenge Points: Add one babau and one nabasu to the encounter.
16–18 Challenge Points (5+ players): Add two babaus and one nabasu to the encounter.
The sidebar on page 30 should read as:
To adjust for the PCs’ overall strength, use the following Challenge Point adjustments. These adjustments are not cumulative.
19–22 Challenge Points: Add one nabasu to the encounter.
23–27 Challenge Points: Add two nabasus to the encounter.
28–32 Challenge Points: Add one invidiak, one nabasu, and one kithangian to the encounter.
33+ Challenge Points (5+ players): Add two invidiaks and two kithangians to the encounter.
We're waiting for an updated PDF and will let y'all know once it's ready!
I am vaguely curious whether the new name is because "half-orc" was feared to be an infringement on WOTC or because the devs felt they just deserved their own name.
Picking a non-goofy tier 1-4 scenario is hard now. I get that they open the audience to kids and such but there are still people out there who crave the classic PFS experience.
The Island of the Vibrant Dead is levels three through six. :)
I see we're already set with 10 metaplot scenarios, but it feels a little much to me if we're getting under 20 total scenarios for the season.
One of the strengths of orgwnized play is its episodic nature and this high % of meta plot feels like its erroding away at that a bit.
That said, I love connections and the occasional 2 parter and all meta all the time isn't a deal breaker, Im just whatever the opposite of excited is.
Voicing support for this. The episodic nature is the prime attractor as an alternative for AP play. I struggle to get new players invested when I have to explain half an AP's worth of plot to get them to play a 4 hour session.
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate and acknowledge the work that goes into this, but it's a detractor to OP.
Just a gentle reminder that we haven't announced how many scenarios there will be this year, nor have we actually released any of the Unfettered Exploration metaplot scenarios.
Y'all's apprehension and concern is noted, however I'd like to politely ask that we refrain from making assumptions about the season before the season even begins. I've done a lot of work with the other members of the Organized Play team to ensure that the Year of Unfettered Exploration will have something for everyone.
But yeah, I should start playing SFS especially after i helped changed a very stupid rule in it lol
As a gentle reply to this, when we change rules we often spend a long time handling them and figuring out how best to correct something, though we always appreciate players bringing things to our attention. However, repeatedly referring PFS standards and rules that were previously listed as "stupid" does come across as unkind and perhaps gives the impression that you're unwilling to listen to those with differing thoughts or opinions.
Neat - a Shriek-infused plant pahtra (...plahntra?) evolutionist! The real question is: how do you pronounce Kyyduh? K-you-duh? Kai-duh? Kee-duh? Kyu-oo-duh? Something else?
I've been pronouncing it Kye-duh, but Kee-dah or Kee-duh may also be appropriate!
