Sabine's morale is high as she slings rope to help get the ship back into working order. The storm had been just what she needed, despite her close call. When Mikael puts his arm around her, she smiles like an fool for a moment, before scowling and shoving him further down the line. She drops her head and focuses on the rope, silently hoping that nobody saw her.

Sabine pulls away from Luke. "Thank you, but I do not fear death from the storm. If it is Gozreh's will that I return to them, then I accept it." She whips her head back and forth to clear her drenched hair from her face. "I don't believe today is that day."

Sabine takes the storm on directly, laughing and reveling in its fury. This was the ultimate manifestation of her faith and despite the driving rain and wind, she exulted in it. Racing around the deck to make repairs, she stops next to Luke to catch her breath. "Isn't it marvelous? Have you ever felt this close to the gods?" Dex Check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12

Sabine sank, the water pushing in from all sides. The more she thrashed about, trying to gain some purchase, the more disoriented she became. For all she knew, she had been swimming down. Her lungs burned for air and her limbs felt numb and cold, weak from the effort of swimming and fighting. The druid opened her mouth to cry out, but sucked in gulp of cold, briney water. The blood pounding behind her eyes, she gave into Gozreh's deep embrace. No. This was not how a predator died. This inky abyss belonged to her. Sabine would die with her enemy's blood on her teeth, not sinking into the abyss to never be seen again. Energy flooded her body, and suddenly, the water seemed not to pull her down, but buoy her up and away. Sabine knew what had happened. Gozreh, the Wind and the Waves, had saved her. She would not die today. Sabine breaks through the surface of the water and swims quickly to Archepex. "I can take him," she declares. Now that she's level 2, Sabine will activate her Totem Transformation and get a Swim speed of 30.

Sabine slaps desperately at the creature fighting Ausk. More than anything, she wishes she had brought her quarterstaff, although swimming with that would have been difficult. Sabine swims back up to the surface, gasping for air. The druid takes a moment to wipe the hair from her eyes and look around. Ausk and Xav were both under attack, but without her quarterstaff, she wouldn't be much help. The druid starts to swim towards Ausk, intending to heal his wounds.

Sabine nods and takes a moment to slip out of her hide armor. Extra weight would be a nuisance in the water. Splashing into sea, it takes a moment for the druid to get her bearings, but soon she takes off, paddling after Ausk. In the reef, Sabine easily spots the crabs, but can't seem to find them when she dives under. Popping back up, she shakes the wet hair from her face. "I can't find them down there," she gasps.

The night before... Sabine shakes her head. "No creature on land or in the water deserves to be sold. Still, I am glad that you made the most of it. A weaker person would have wilted." She looks up to see Mikael end the fight decisively and gestures to Ausk. "Follow me." Walking over to where Mikael and Xav were celebrating, she gives Mikael a wolfish grin. "I can heal that for you." Turning to Xav and Ausk (and Luke? I've lost a sense of where everybody is), I have something for you all." The new day... Sabine glances up at the half-orc. "What? You mean this floating death-trap filled with murderers and thieves?" The druid scoffs. "Yeah. It's my first time." She stays silent for a moment, tensing as Mikael makes a move to trip Crimson. "Thanks, though. What about you? Are you used to this?"

Sabine quirks an eyebrow at Xavdeyr. "You'll want to avoid doing that," she says wryly. Taking her hand and pressing it between both of hers, she mutters a quick prayer to Gozreh. The druid scowls at Archepex's attitude. "Aww, shape up, will ya? I know this is bad, but it could be worse. Fishguts could be frying you up for dinner. Moping won't solve your problems." Sabine lets out a slight smile as she notices Mikael climb on to the main deck, although she responds to Mikael's question without ceasing her scrubbing. "I've had worse. Nothing I haven't felt before." The druid had tied a loose linen shirt to expose her back. The lash wounds were gone, leaving faint red lines where angry welts had been the night before. She stands up to stretch and fixes Mikael with storm-grey eyes. "We have to be more careful. Next time we might get what Jake Magpie got."

"So where did you want to look?" How should we do this, Choon? Should we roll separately? Should one of us "Aid Another"? Sabine stiffens as Mikael embraces her. It was not something that happened often in her life, and the suddenness of the act left her stunned... and a little happy. She didn't have very many friends. She steps out of the hug and tries to push the conversation along. It wouldn't do to let Mikael see her soften up. "I found some things lying around and took them in to trade earlier today. I have the others' weapons as well." She stops and thinks for a moment. "Do you know anything about opening something that's locked?" I'll be joining Mikael in the skulking.

Sabine stands passively, listening to Ausk sing and trying to ignore the rage in her belly and pain across her back, when Mikael approaches. She returns the man's grin with a coy smile. "Aye, I have your 'girls.' And your armor. Shall we fetch them?" ... Below decks, assuming that Mikael consents, Sabine produces an old piece of sailcloth containing Mikael's arms and armor. She hands them over to the warrior and retrieves her driftwood staff. "I could use an ally, especially after today's events. Make no mistake. We have enemies." She fixes Mikael with an intense gaze. Sabine nods slowly to Mikael, anger in her eyes. Her back ached from the lash's touch, three angry red lines on the skin. She was thankful that she wasn't bleeding and that she hadn't fainted. When Mikael takes his place on the mast, Sabine glares at Mr. Scourge.

Sabine is incredulous. She had worked so hard to stay beneath notice, just to result in lashes for a fight she didn't start. Her fury comes bubbling out in a snarl. "Are you kidding me? They attacked us! For nothing!"

Thanks. :) Sabine thanks Grok and goes to stow her regained possessions in the spot she had hidden her gathered stuff. She'd like to get them back to her companions, but she had already spent enough time away from work. She had no desire to feel Mr. Scourge's displeasure.

"Do you have the possessions of the newest recruits here? I'd like to buy my things back." Despite the dismissal way the half-orc was treating her, Sabine kept her voice as cool as possible. She didn't need to mess with the quartermaster. "My clothing, a driftwood staff, shark's hide armor, a backpack with its contents, and a wooden aspect of Gozreh. If I can, I want to buy some of the others' gear as well."

Sabine accepts her role without a word, but she couldn't keep from smirking. Was there ever a more effective hunter than the shark? Catching rats was surely beneath her, but Sabine had no illusions that she would be effective.
