In the Starfinder campaign, with a Commander on scene... Rudo sometimes waits for direction/intention (explicit or implicit) to follow. With the current scene, repairs and reconstruction seemed an Engineering thing. He was going t dress down the slackers on guard, but thought better of it until he understood the situation fully. AKA bit his tongue.

Rudo, at point, stops short of the truck. Lt Clausius, Security... but you can call me Rudo. This is our Commander, Legion-12... Head Science Officer, Dr. Yusil and Lead Engineer, Lt Krema Reginald-Zretaden. He waits as if to say, Who are you?
It doesn't take Rudo long to prep for planetfall. If there is no one more appropriate to pilot the shuttle, he comfortably takes the controls and readies the craft as he awaits the others. Manually, he goes through all manner of pre-flight checklist, even switching automated ones to operator mode... with the auto-routines merely as fail-safes. The trick is everything becoming routine without dulling one's awareness. He speaks mostly to himself and anyone who's taken a seat is welcome to listen in.
Captain only called for you four. If you want to add another security person you can, but a team might be overkill in a situation where you're only being sent as a precaution. Call me Han... Solo.

Rudo offers nothing more than formal welcomes and congratulations, his mind elsewhere... ilithids. His training was of of the body, and what he could do as a vanguard, he considered spiritual. This... this "mindwar" was new to him. When it was permissible, he excuses himself... and after conferring with and drafting Oren, immerses himself in mental training.
