AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Hi folks, there has been a parting of the chaos just long enough for me to poke my head up and try to touch base with my various games. The probate and estate stuff for this branch of the family seems...challenging at best. Between my new promotion and what might be weeks if not months of familial wrangling I need to be honest about what I can accomplish and how often.

I am going to go ahead and step away from this game. I appreciate the well wishes and its been great to play with folks but I have to trim in places and I want to make sure that this game can run at the right pace. Maybe in a more medium future time will be more available and I can re-assess but I think it best I lighten my load and mark myself as inactive. Thanks for the game, good luck.

Big death in my family. I will be back by the end of the week. Apologies.

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Satisfied that there was little in the way of immediate threat coming from the wizard's husk, Rolen grunts over his shoulder at Kirian, Sure, let's go.

The warrior moves to head to the caverns, pausing to see if the others follow...

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Rolen frowns, dour by nature and pessimistic at heart. Still wizards did stupid things all the time. Maybe this time he and his allies might get rewarded for someone else's mistakes.

While the others search the room, Rolen walks around the room occasionally looking out into the rest of the complex to be sure no one else is coming...

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Rolen spits, Necromancers. They are insane! To cll forth such life that is not life. Perhaps there is a treasure here or a secret to protect. Or maybe they kept the bones here like tools to be pulled from a cabinet when the time was right.

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Sorry folks, I'm hopefully on the other side of things with minimal swiss cheese, lol

Attack Blue!: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Dam: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

If that is enough to down the foe Rolen will advance forward to draw skeleton ire...

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Since I am so low in the order I am wondering if I can wait until after Habbi to go? There isn't technically a hold option in 5th listed is there? (I dont have my book right in front of me)

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Rolen pouts slightly, I wanted that armor.

The elf hefts hid shield in front of him and keeps his sword ready. Moving to lead on if the others are okay with it. I seem to be doing "okay" in the not getting hurt dept so I can take lead?

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Thanks, mostly its all muscle crap except my elbow and my left hand is all messed up. Hard to grip, etc. Probably some physical therapy in my future but I was able to get out on my own, more importantly I was able to get my 6yr old son out of the car, and we are alive, lol.

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

As soon as the bandit leader drops Rolen moves off to drag the other unconscious bandits all together so they can be bound and stripped of their weapons, armor and anything else of interest.

Rolen looks appraisingly at the scimitar and raises his eyebrows at the others to see if any of them have interest in the weapon.

As an fyi I got into a pretty big car wreck on Monday night, I am pretty banged up and typing and what not is really hard so I will do my best to keep up but my spottiness will probably continue through next week.

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Rolen spits after than bandits and turns to hustle towards his allies...

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Sorry life decided to implode with plague, unruly children and work drama. Spetember has sucked, lol.

Rolen spits after the bandit and moves to chase after him only to veer to the side and turn his attention to the others, putting on a burst of speed with his shield in front of him to get close...

This round is a dash to yellow it look like...

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Knowing it folly to leave the bandit behind him to kill the leader, Rolen tried to make short work of the foe in front of him.

Attack (Pink): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Dam: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Rolen growls at seeing Carric being torn up so quickly and presses in against the nearest bandit, battering at the man with his sword...

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Damage!: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

His concern for his friend,however, seems to be more a distraction than a motivation in this moment however...

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Rolen moves next to Carric and strikes at the foe threatening his friend Rolen is opting Swoard and Baord for now, AC 17

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Dam: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Crit: 1d8 ⇒ 6

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

I was gonna post but they go before me so really should wait...On the matter of the plate, if we can get the body we can probably smoke or boil the corpse at a decent temp to kill bugs but not ruin the metal and leather...or maybe douse it in something that kills the grubs.

My second comment is Hey GM and Carric, did you see the proposed revised Ranger from Unearther Arcana on the D&D feed?

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Well if the sheriff and company want to burn the house down we definitely need to look behind "DO NOT OPEN"...but maybe just double check the rest of the other spaces and leave that for last?

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Rolen enjoys the meal in silence, and simply nods in the direction of Carric when the discussion turns to making the arrangement more "permanent".

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

:p

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Rolen will carry at least one AF as an option, and I don't think I have much to want to change except, like Carric, potentially upgrading to studded if we can make that work financially.

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Rolen moves to pick up Sanbalet and grunts as moves to follow after the others. Let's get out of here.

Yeah Rolen didn;t necesarrily think that anyone in town could speak with dead but knows its possible. Who knows how hard a zealous sheriff will pursue a lead, all that, lol.

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Perhaps we should bring Sanbalet himself? If the authorities wish to pay to commune with his spirit it would at least be possible if they have the body?

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Rolen takesa knee and breaths heavily, I take back what I said about the house. Its all very exciting.

1 hp, I didn't lose consciousness again!

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

WEll to be fair you were fighting floods I'm dealing with things a tad mor mundane but I appreciate the patience nonetheless.

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

I want to apologize for my spotty access lately, I am having some issues at home and at work that are impacting my ability to get online physically and taking a toll on getting into the groove emotionally. I expect this to be a patch of turbulence that might last another month or so but shouldn't take me out of the fight. I will continue to try to get on as often as I can but if you are willing to be patient, I will slwosly get back up to speed. I apologize for my delays...

This is probably my most agressive game as far as keeping up speed, so if my slowness is untenable I understand if folks feel like I should step down. Give it some thought and I will post in the mean time.

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Unsure of how much longer the group will hold Rolen takes the few seconds to sheath his sword and stow his shield, moving to pull his bow out if he can get a shot in. Now way I can shoot this round but I don't want to drop my stuff. Not sure if I can stow both things with one action and pull the bow as another, otherwise I will pull the bow next round if shooting is even an option.

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Yeah that flooding stuff sounded unpleasant to the max. Glad you are back in one piece and all that.

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Ah thanks everyone for the break down. Rolen will move back to be with everyeon else...

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Roeln moves to withdraw I think that is going to use all my actions to get up and move away?

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Suddenly more concerned about pink, Rolen presses his attack on the warrior...

Attack!: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Dam?: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

The warrior lands a blow and yells in elvish...

Elvish:
If you need to retreat then go, I will hold as long as I can...

8/19 HP
Stubborn stubborn Rolen...

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Ooohh bummer. That stuff sucks! Good luck.

Just pinging the thread

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Apologies, when I updated my character sheet on leveling I missed the line on my projected stats under my name. I also failed to update when I was given the ROP. So yes I should be at 17, even thought I am taking two handed I went with LS to switch hit especially at lower levels. I apologize that was not clear and hopefully it should be now.

Rolen sweats as he fights, the foes continuing to mass upon him. Arrows still flew and spells still seemed to be coming so he prayed that he was giving his allies time and space to succeed or, if required, to retreat...

Rolen continues to stand at the bottleneck, now taking on the gnoll...

Attack: 1d20 + 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (19) + (4) + 5 = 28
damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

Rolen lets out a yell as he tries to strike as hard as he possibly can and seems to bolster for the effort...

Second Wind
1d10 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
14 of 19 I beleive

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

I can't see the map ATM so I'll ask for some GM help if I'm not right in front if someone... Rolen does his best to continue to fight... Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1d4 ⇒ (4) + 5 + (2) = 11
Damage?: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Not seeing a way to move that doesn't increase the number of foes he is juggling, Rolen opts to stand his ground a moment more...

Attack [Red: 1d20 + 5 + 1d4 ⇒ (4) + 5 + (1) = 10

As his foes push back his initial attack, Rolen attempts to use a gap in his opponents defense to strike again.

Action surge
Attack [Red: 1d20 + 5 + 1d4 ⇒ (6) + 5 + (4) = 15
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Okay I am clearly having some kind of thread read issue with my phone because this and another game of mine suddenly have posts where they did not... I will be better baout cliking on the thread regardless of count to ensure Im not missing something, apologies.

Rolen continues to work on his foe...

Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1d4 ⇒ (4) + 5 + (3) = 12
Mebbe?: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Rolen nods after Peren and follows the halfling to cover him as he opens the door. The dour elf seems to be taking a liking to at least the work ethic of the rogue, made evidence by his minimal grousing and his subtle assurances of readiness as the halfling goes to work...

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Rolen grunts again, True but is it worth the risk? MAybe we should work to create an ambush of some sort.

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Rolen grunts, Only if they think that all interlopers would open the door marked "danger". Otherwise it strikes me as a poor deterrent. Unless we intend to wait here for whomever it is to return I don't see how we use this against them....I am also weary of using all our resources to kill something behind the door only to then have to fight off a returning wizard.

Rolen knows this was the sort of attitude that made him few friends but the warrior could only shrug at himself mentally. He was a pessimist.

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

A barracks of sort?

Rolen continues his vigil as others poke around...

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Rolen confusedly motions at Habbi with HIS shield, Err...no....lol I said a few posts back that he pulled his off his back but if I didn't I will not that NOW I am.

Rolen moves forward to let the wizard and cleric take the rear. Standing near Carris and waiting for Peren's word the fighter flexes his his sword arm in an effort to be ready...

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Rolen contemplates the breastplate but decides to skip it for the moment...

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Can only the breast plate from half plater be used as such or are they different enough its use it as half plate or nothing?

Rolen's eyes widen at the sudden turn of events and the warrior looks to his brother in arms for guidance at the sudden madness before him. Uhh Carric What do I DO? he seems to ask, lol

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Rolen pauses and slips the ring on then re-straps his shield and readies his sword and follows...

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

*wiggles eyebrows* I'll take it if no one else wants it.

Rolen indicates he is ready to Habbi.

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Sorry for the delay, Paizo wouldn't let me on for a couple days. Like server down messages and what not. Anyone else have that issue?

Rolen casts a sidelong look at the halfling as the others arrive from upstairs, suggesting that the elf's inability to get into the attic is something best left unmentioned.

As the group moves to contemplating the basement the warrior muses, Bugs are one thing but so far there is little to suggest this was the source of arms to the lizards no? Perhaps downstairs we will find some well concealed conspiracy but I can't help but think it will be more bugs...and maybe a hole or two to fall through.

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Rolen mumbles a curse and strikes his weapons in an effort to climb up... Athletics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

And then struggles with the terrain...

-Posted with Wayfinder

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

One of mine for sure disappeared. I'm trying to keep up but I'm having a bit of a tempo issue, the room by room is taking a while and I feel like it's hard to reply. Especially since others are leading the searches... Is there a way for us to convert more ground IRL that doesn't leave us to problems of ambush in game?

-Posted with Wayfinder

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Rolen offers a bit of an eyeroll and motions with his hand his intent to stay on the level below unless his comrades see something worth making the climb...

AC: 15/17; Passive Perception 14; Init +3; Saves: Str +5, Con +3;

Rolen hovers like the others as the wizard opens the box. Whats in the box?!?!

Wayfinder
With a command word, you can use a wayfinder to shine (as the light spell). The wayfinder also acts as a nonmagical (magnetic) compass, granting you a +2 circumstance bonus on Survival checks to avoid becoming lost. All wayfinders include a small indentation designed to hold a single ioun stone. An ioun stone slotted in this manner grants you its normal benefits (as if it were orbiting your head), but frequently reveals entirely new powers due to the magic of the wayfinder itself.
Deep red sphere cracked ioun stone
+1 bonus on stealth

Money 805.16

Special Abilities:

CLASS

Favored Enemy (Undead, Human) At 1st level, a ranger selects a creature type from the ranger favored enemies table. He gains a +2 bonus on Bluff, Knowledge, Perception, Sense Motive, and Survival checks against creatures of his selected type. Likewise, he gets a +2 bonus on weapon attack and damage rolls against them. A ranger may make Knowledge skill checks untrained when attempting to identify these creatures.

Wild Empathy +0 A ranger can improve the initial attitude of an animal. This ability functions just like a Diplomacy check to improve the attitude of a person (see Using Skills). The ranger rolls 1d20 and adds his ranger level and his Charisma bonus to determine the wild empathy check result. The typical domestic animal has a starting attitude of indifferent, while wild animals are usually unfriendly.

To use wild empathy, the ranger and the animal must be within 30 feet of one another under normal visibility conditions. Generally, influencing an animal in this way takes 1 minute, but, as with influencing people, it might take more or less time.

The ranger can also use this ability to influence a magical beast with an Intelligence score of 1 or 2, but he takes a –4 penalty on the check

Track +1 A ranger adds half his level (minimum 1) to Survival skill checks made to follow tracks.

RACE

Darkvision 60 feet.

Intimidating +2 bonus to intimidate

Orc Blood (Ex) Half-orc count as both humans and orcs for any effect related to race.

Orc Ferocity (Ex) Once per day, when a half-orc is brought below 0 hit points, but not killed, he can fight on for one more round as if disabled. At the end of his next turn, unless brought to above 0 hit points, he immediately falls unconscious and begins dying.

Weapon Familiarity (Ex) Half-orcs are proficient with greataxes and falchions, and treat any weapon with the word "orc" in its name as a martial weapon.

Backstory:

Korech hails from the Hold of Belkzen, an abused and neglected offspring of a human captor and an orcish marauder. He was raised in violence and fear, and deserted on his first raid into human lands, escaping into the Fangwood during a raid on Lastwall, still a youth.

Years passed as he dove deep into the Fangwood, near-starvation and only barely surviving through the food he could scavenge. However he fell in love with the dense forest and its denizens, and after a few very hard years he taught himself to live with the land. As he roamed to the edges, he found himself in Nirmathas, and discovered the logging industry. Horrified at the destruction of the forest, he did what he could to stop them, only to find himself overwhelmed by angry loggers and beaten half to death.

He awoke a week later in a jail cell in Kassen, held until the townsfolk could figure out what to do with him. The answer came within a week, when an orcish raiding party attacked Kassen. Korech mangaed to escape his jail, but rather than fleeing, stayed, remembering his treatment at the hands of orcs. Calling out in his Belkzen-accented orcish, he lead the raiding party into an ambush, doing his part to foil the raid. He then joined the ambush, managing to kill an orc with a tree branch.

In the aftermath, it became apparent the town had captured not a fearsome orcish raider, but a scared teenager who was good with a bow and done something very brave.

Arnama Lastrid was the one who saw potential in him, and took the young half-orc under her wing. However, it has always been a difficult relationship with Korech stubborn and unteachable, and Arnama impatient and incapable of teaching. Despite this, Korech knows to learn from his betters, and from simply being with Arnama has matured into a skilled guide and hunter. They have grown close, despite bickering constantly, and Korech is fiercely protective of the woman he treats as his big sister, or adoptive mother.

Personality:

Korech is stoic and intensely introverted. He prefers to observe and prepare as opposed to charging in heedlessly, and is easily frustrated with the impatient or impetuous. However, he is also loyal, caring, and rewards kindness paid to him tenfold. Although he is cautious about offending, he has no concept of manners or civilized behaviour.
His common is crude and simple, having only been living with humans for the past four or so years.

Appearance:

Korech has very much the build of a human, lean and wiry rather than broad and bulky most orcs. His face is crude and unhandsome, with curving yellow fangs emerging from his huge underbite, and a protruding forehead with a once-broken nose. He dresses simply and practically, with no adornment and short, crudely-chopped black hair. His skin is a brownish-green, and riddled with old scars.
