This view short-sighted, racist. Many humanoid have good things to offer world. Talk of lesser races first step on very dangerous path. Pleasure in fear of others second step.

What is third step?

Fear? Threats? Embrace human half. You not need to revel in such things, and you make rest of race as seem monsters when you do.

No threat. Statement of fact. Staring at iconic Assassin is a very bad idea.

It's only if you're using Golarion, or looking to modify Golarion, or want to build a world LIKE Golarion that my arguments matter... and even then, I present them as nothing more than my philosophies so that folks can see why things are the way they are in Golarion, and so that they can make informed decisions about any changes they might want to make.

My problem isn´t that orcs aren´t good guys or bad guys, my problem with Golarion orcs is that they are kind of bland. Goblins got a nice redesign, elfs and drows too, but the orcs of Golarion brought no deepth. Where are the great orc shamans traditions or war-machines ? Where are the great orc warlords that shove fear in the armies of Lastwall ? Ok, the orcs of golarion are bad guys, but they aren´t villains, they are just low level thugs. I guess that after Red Hand of Doom mister Jacobs has been saving the spot of the great adversaries of humanity for the hobgoblins when they make their appearance in Golarion, but if they don´t give us legendary orc heros, they could at least let some infamous orc really bad guys slip by so we could relate to them.

Please, more love to Belkzen, Orcs of Golarion wasn´t inspired enought.

Fair enough. It's certainly true that we haven't done much at all with orcs.

Yet.

That will change soon enough.

Well, color me excited!

Yes , yes it is. But we are used to CJ's prejudice against us half-orcs.
Prejudice?? Naw I just always heard that half-orcs like Texas are always bigger. I always assumed they were just talking teeth size.
;) We are actually bigger than Texas ... this is known. But we don't need to talk about it because we are so awesome.

Switched from Qadira to Sczarny. Fits more with Roagh's attitude.

Sczarni

I tend to take my character names way to seriously. It's the hardest part of char creation, usually.

For myt PFS characters, I decided to lighten up a bit.
This is my Rogue.

For about a year, a good three or four times a week at the least, I was either directly (found, fixed, identified, confirmed, called for fire support, and then laser designated) or indirectly (found, fixed, identified, confirmed and then reported existance and location) responsible for someone's father, husband, son, brother, uncle, or friend not coming home again.

Ignoring the justifications, the necessity thereof, or even the fact that if I were to do it all over again I most definitely would, I still adhere to my own personal belief that there is something immensely sacred about life and the majestic glory that it is, and that the taking of a life, any life, is something to be approached with the utmost care, even in times of conflict or dealing with such animals as mass murderers, etc.

Interestingly, I don't have the slightest amount of squeemishness about stabbing an ogre in the face and then rifling through his pockets for loose change. Orcs even less so.

Watch it buddy, I'm not sure how meaty tiger paws are, but I'm willing to give 'em a taste.

Sczarni

Muahahaha. I was just catching Roagh up on his XP/PA. (Now Ftr 1/ Rog 6) Took the Razortusk feat. It fits so well with his personality and gives him a BITE ATTACK!!! How cool is that?

So who are the iconics for this one going to be then?

We actually just finalized the iconics for this one yesterday. They'll be:

Merisiel (rogue)
Seoni (sorcerer)
Seelah (paladin)
Feiya (witch)

I was under the impression that you were avoiding reusing Iconic's over two consecutive Ap and isn't Merisiel one of the iconics being used in serpents skull?

We were... up until yesterday. We were also not intending to use APG iconics either.

We're abandoning those restrictions as of yesterday.

Mmm, Half-orcs.

Beastmaster gives us Nets and Whips as Martial weapons in place of orc ferocity. Chain Fighter replaces the weapon familiarity with flail/heavy flail prof and dire flails/spiked chains as Martial. Sacred Tattoo gives a +1 luck bonus to all saves instead of orc ferocity.

A handful of others. I like 'em.

Agreed. Dropping it to 15-20 is a bit more achievable, considering how many opponents Tsadok will be facing.

Furthermore .... facepalm I forgot to add the Assassin level to mix. Gaaaaaah. I'm gearing the character by looking at the Iconic Assassin picture and gearing him off that, 6 daggers, 2 shortswords, 1 longer-hafted/handled weapon and a light crossbow, plus a metal faceplate, tattered black cloak and black studded leather armor.

Should I re-write his backstory to be more PG 13 and alude to the start of it all or leave it dark and gritty?

Well, since it's 'fanfic', I'd make it what you're comfortable with. I 'personally' think it's a little too dark, but not so much that I wouldn't use it as written. (Depending on the players at my table.) If it bothers someone that much, they can always come up with an alternate version.

Definitely dark. Just one observation.

Spoiler:
50 in one year is a rather large number for well planned, well executed assassinations. That's effectively one per week, leaving little time for travel, researching the target, making a plan etc. Such a rushed pace leaves way to much room for mistakes. I would suggest making it a dozen, no more than 15, which is more like one per month. A far more 'realistic' and reasonable number, IMO.
Sczarni

We only have a half page to stat up the iconics. If we DO start using the APG iconics in that way, we'll have to stat them up without fully providing the rules for their abilities, since reprinting all the relevant info will (especially at the higher level) take up more than half a page—it's already REALLY tricky getting a high level core spellcaster into a half page without sacrificing the layout.

If at some point we decided that we're okay with assuming that readers of an Adventure Path have all bought the APG, then that might change. But for now, we assume only the main rulebook and the bestiary are core—and thus those are the only two books we can skimp on providing rules for.

I guess that makes sense. Still stinks though, I really like the Iconic Inquisitor.

Really? Again? That's the exact same we had in cycle 4. I mean, I suppose I can see it as they are the last four that haven't seen print in a Pathfinder RPG-rules AP, but still, it feels too familiar and old hat. What about some weird pairings like Seelah, Merisiel, Harsk, and Seltiyel, or Valeros, Seoni, Lini, and Lem?
Since we tend to not like running an iconic twice in a row, chances are good that the current way that the iconic parties break down is more or less where things have stabilized at. We might mix things up in the future, but we might not.

Does that mean the APG Iconics won't be getting to share the spotlight? Otherwise translated as, 'You mean, Half-orcs get shafted again?' :^/

It's true. We TWF Rogues can dish out a heap o'hurt on our enemies. Why, just this last weekend I got sent in to take out some big baddies and was all dogin and dartin around, opening up the whoop arse on this dude. Then his frothing at the mouth buddy stepped up and slammed his BIG axe into my chest.

Now, I'm harder to hit than most of my peers. Went to that fancy fightin school last month and picked up some new tricks. How to wear this shiny new Breastplate like a real frontline guy, for instance. But the fact is I'm still easier to hit than a dude wearing plate type armors and carrying a shield, and I don't soak up the damage as well.

*My PFS rogue has a level of Fighter so he can wear Medium armor since in PFS you aren't always guaranteed a Tank. In the midst of full attacking in a recent game a Barbarian dropped him from full health to 1/2 with a single shot. If he hadn't had to move 10' to do it Roagh could very well have been a footnote in history.

IOW: YES, TWF rogues can do a lot of DPS, but when they become a target things can go bad for them quickly.

Sheesh. Turn it down a notch.

I've been playing Half-orc Rogues (Or assassins or thiefs, depending on the version) since the 80's. Sorry that you feel tied to playing the obvious strengths, some of us do play outside the perfectly optimized box. Yes, the 3.5 Half-Orc was flawed. Most of us think the PF Beta version was a fine update. And grew to like it quite a bit. Then we got a watered down weakass version in PRPG and felt a bit let down. The 'Orc' was taken out of Half-orc And we got a human with Darkvision instead of an extra feat And no skill points.

But all that aside, no reason for the hostility.
