I’m sorry I have been gone for so long. I cannot explain everything that has happened, but between computer failures, weather problems and increased responsibilities at my two jobs I have not been able to participate in any online communities.
I apologize for taking so long to contact everyone about the changes in my home situation. I hope my absence has not been a major hindrance to anyone’s fun here on the forums.
I’m sending out this message now so everyone can plan accordingly. I will be unable to participate in any forum games for the foreseeable future. Please carry on without me (which shouldn’t be too hard since I haven’t been around for so long now).
I hope everyone is well and will continue to be so. I enjoyed my time here on the forums and my interactions with all of you. Thank you for understanding and patience.
"No!" Ricven yells as he drops his weapon and rushes forward. He grabs Kendra's arm and tries to pull her back inside where the professor's wards should keep her safe.
Ricven looks at his companions like they have grown new heads.
"The warden's wife said these items are weapons, and you don't throw a good weapon in the fire. You use it. Now, did we want to see if something can be done about the prisioner. Could a priest try an exorcism?"
EDIT: AC 18, comment below appears to be correct! Thanks for the info. Ignore this: AC 16 for turn. Also, since first attack missed, I cannot make a second one.
Thanks for letting us know! Hopefully everything goes well.
"Let's damage the manacles in such a way that they cannot be a threat later, just in case."
The fighter sheathes his greatsword and pulls out the earthbreaker. He then smashes each of the manacles until there is no way for them to function anymore.
That done, he searches the rest of the room for anything interesting.
Not really sure whether there is any difference in this case as both the attack and the sunder both are reduced by the hardness of the material. However, the sunder opens you up to an AoO whereas a regular attack does not.
wow, really? I guess you sunder only if you have feats then.
Sorry, I thought any melee attack could be a sunder attempt. If that's not the case, I'll just try regular attacks this round and see how well it works.
Ricven struggles to free himself from the demonic chains.
"I won't be trapped here, spirits!
DM:
I'm not sure how I can get free, so I'll put up two options. Feel free to use whatever is appropriate.
Attempt to break grapple 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
If that cannot be done, Ricven will get closer to where the chain is attached to the wall so he can swing both arms in an attempt to use his greatsword to sunder the chain 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Ricven takes a quick look around the stairwell to make sure there is no unusual activity.
Perception 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
"This is just the stairs. Let's examine these other little contained areas we haven't gone into yet and then go into the far western part of the prison."
Perception for the next room, let's go from left to right on the map. 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Ricven forces himself to go ahead of everyone, determined to face whatever the prison has to throw at him. As he examines the new area, he realizes a long, narrow section has been avoided so far.
"Once we finish in here, let's check this area near the holding center for the prisoners. I don't want anything sneaking up from behind us."
GM:
Ricven is talking about the area in white that's one square wide and runs vertical on the map toward the right.
The fight pills an old sack out of his pack and quickly starts to out the heated bones inside, trying to avoid any more burns. Then he walks the bones over to the water and dumps them in.
"You fought well long after death. May you find peace here and justice in the hereafter. Gorum guide you to your reward."
