Further considering the points that have been presented, I tend to agree with Dave on this call:

Black tentacles has no vision ability at all. Invisibility cannot effect it. It is possible I suppose that everything should have concealment against black tentacles, but there is no way that invisibility can be a factor.

It troubled me that I see no facility for sight, therefore how could a vision-based concealment factor into the situation? I realize that this is a spell and there doesn't necessarily need to be a logical reason for a mechanic, but I like for there to be one in the games I GM. Clearly my concept of tremorsense didn't make sense the way I was picturing it, so in the future (if it happens again), I'll go with the "attacks anything and everything within the AOE" reading. Thanks to you all for the opinions and considerations presented.

Would black tentacles be able to grapple a character within the area of effect who is invisible? A RAW reading of the spell would indicate yes ("apply the result to all creatures in the area of effect."), but reasoning is lacking. As the GM, my call was yes, it would affect that PC even though he was invisible. My reasoning was that the tentacles posess some form of tremorsense although it is not explicitly mentioned. Thoughts? Comments? Flames?

Raziel narrows his eyes in annoyance as he takes the opened letter. Apparently, personal privacy is not held in high regard in this organization. I'll need to instruct family members and contacts at the embassy to send correspondence by messenger to be delivered strictly in person.

Where are we now, GM? I mean, I know we're in a room, but where are we located geographically? Is it a manor house? A castle? A tower? A hut?

Spellcasters always seem to have a love for the dramatic. Raziel says dryly, feigning indifference as he takes a seat. That's quite unsettling. This one is powerful. I need to tread carefully around her.

And if you are going to detect evil on Raziel and don't want me as a player to know it, then yes, I would recommend that you private message the gm that you're doing so. I'm not trying to be combative here. If you detect evil on Raziel and Raziel as a character has no way of perceiving it, then I as a player will continue to play him as if he didn't know. If, as I suspect, a paladin detecting evil requires Halvor to stare at Raziel in concentration for approximately 3 seconds, then Raziel will most probably react in some way. The characters may be at odds, but I don't mean to insult you as a player in any way, George.

I guess that the question from Scott is more along the lines of "Does Halvor detect evil on every person he ever comes into contact with as a matter of course?" And if so, he should do the same for Helga as well. The point being that I've given you no reason whatsoever to suspect that I'm anything but a friendly nobleman. There are lots of reasons for him to do so. He may dislike Chelaxians. He may have heard of the Henderthane family. He may think that dark hair is a mark of devils. What's his motivation? If Raziel spit on his shoes or cast a spell on him, you and he would probably be at least mildly curious likewise.

Technical Question: When a paladin detects evil, is the process visible to others? Do his eyes glow blue or turn white? Or does he just concentrate? I'm not familiar with these details...

I am currently working on formatting him. I must say we picked a dysfunctional schizophrenic format. Background before attributes or class, no name mentioned... And by "we" I really mean "Scott".

Perhaps I should clarify: I hate dealing with guns as a gm. In my humble opinion, they break the game. In this case, it's your problem, not mine. I'm ready to completely run amok! And besides, I consider myself a connoisseur of hypocrisy. Only the finest will do.

I think paizo and more specifically whoever designed Golarion knew this. Clearly Ustalav was meant to be the tired old world eastern Europe of Avistan. Somebody at Paizo was familiar with Russian and Russian folk tales what with promoting Baba Yaga to the queen of Irrisen, chicken–legged hut and all. Ustalav is obviously Beam Stoker's Transylvania.

Oh, I'm not worried about the class. It's the demon worshipping Chelaxian lawyer that may have some difficulty co-existing. And I certainly don't intend to cause any contention, but I can almost guarantee that it will arise will knowing his nature...

I think that's exactly what this party needs: an aasimar paladin! He'll fit right in!

Also, I think the level of activity will pick up notably once the actual game commences.
