Thank you everyone. I must apologize again. I'm doing my best to get back to normal. This game is a lot of fun, and I wouldn't miss it. I am sorry for your own loss Lynleera.

I love your artwork, Wisp.

Raven takes full advantage of his tab; ordering seconds, and even thirds. He devours an astounding amount of food and drink for his lean frame. His demeanor is not of one who just survived a harrowing battle, and despite his comical personality he seems quite accustomed to hardship and danger.

"My apologies for not wading in during the combat, my friends. I am not particularly adept at the rough and tumble. I prefer to support others with my magic and my tricks."

He seems unsure of himself, as if uncertain whether he even qualifies as "A hero of Sandpoint."

Apologies, was out on Convention (Weekend). I am still here!

"Excellent work, everyone. Focus on that rider and the battle will be ours!"

Time for something drastic.

Raven takes note of the cat's, "Blake's" swift and deadly attacks. I'm fine with cats; I just hope they don't all have a grudge against me... He reaches out and touches the cat's flank, infusing it with a blessing of luck and good fortune.

Raven moves up and uses his Domain Power Bit of Luck on Blake (He has to use it at touch range, because they are not currently Caravan Bonded). Every time Blake rolls a d20 before Raven's next turn, he rolls twice and takes the better. Attack Rolls, Saving Throws, Skill Checks, any d20.

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6

"Our ally is vulnerable while Prone! Try to keep the goblins off him. Their spellcaster is the real threat, though!"

Raven will use a Move-Equivalent Action to give Combat Advice to Mary. He will convert his Standard Action to a Second Move-Equivalent Action to give Combat Advice to Lynleera. They each gain a +2 Competence Bonus to their next Attack Roll.

Surprise Round

Raven calls out to the half-elf guardsman. "These foes are quick, but fragile. Prioritize accuracy in your attacks."

Raven uses his Surprise Round Action to provide Combat Advice to Calin. Calin gains a +2 Competence Bonus to his next Attack Roll. It stacks with Bless, since Bless is a Morale Bonus. :)

As Raven begins to head towards The Cathedral with his new friend, he catches a blur of motion in the corner of his eye. He notices too late though, as a young woman slams into him, knocking him off balance. The woman is incredibly quick; barely losing her stride as she rolls back upright. She looks back and calls out something as she continues on undaunted, then blows kisses in their direction. Reflexively, he checks his pockets to see if any valuables are missing.

"I don't mean to assume anything, but if she's a pickpocket, she's damn good." He says to Lynleera, with a tone of amusement rather than anger. Finding nothing amiss, he shrugs, then continues towards the Cathedral. "I suppose it really was an accident. There's a first time for everything."

It's great to see everybody! Glad you're feeling better, Sizma. I love all animals, including both cats and dogs. My family has only ever adopted dogs, but I took care of my neighbor's cat while they were on vacation. It was great! They are really cool.

I've been able to keep up with all my PbPs, and one of them is a short PFS Scenario that is moving along at an awesome pace. We may possibly be finished by the end of the month. May I apply to your Iron Gods too, DM Alistair? It would be extra fun to run into some familiar faces from here. :)

Raven smiles at the new contestant, appreciative of his comment. "I thank you, sir. Desna has blessed me all my life, though she is not above punishing me for my mischief." He winks, then selects a potion.

After drinking it, Raven grimaces at its awful taste. He coughs slightly, but manages to maintain his composure. "You're right Nisk, the timing of the festival is Divine Providence. Unlike that potion! Believe it or not though, I have had worse." Memories of the "cuisine" back in Rag's End flash through his mind.

Selaros:

Raven grins. "Yes, exactly like the bird. It's the name my mother gave me. My real mother." He seems to notice that his statement might appear confusing. "That is, I consider my adoptive mother to be my real mother. She's Varisian. She says that I'm a Raven who will soar through The Big Sky, just like in the Varisian Harrow." He continues. "The Swallowtail Festival honors the Goddess, my Goddess, Desna. It's a happy coincidence that the first of Autumn falls in so closely with the town's Church being rebuilt."

Raven walks along the festival grounds, taking in the sights of the city. His prominently displayed Desnan Holy Symbol, along with his clerical vestments, cause many of Sandpoint's citizens to mistake him for a new member of the clergy. "Do I really look like a formal priest? Not bad for a street rat!" he thinks to himself.

The promise of a free meal draws him closer to the market stalls. There, a nearby attraction catches his eye. "Potion tasting? As long as it's potable, I don't really care what I end up drinking." He shuffles forward to participate, lining up behind a graceful elven woman.

He does on occasion spend a night or two in a tavern, mostly the Rusty Dragon since it is right next door to the stables, though he has occasionally made his way down to the hagfish.

After a bit of trouble with a local sczarni tough outside the Feedbag has him avoiding that place. As one of the half dozen or so half-elfs in the town its possible that most of you at least 'know' of a sizable half - elf who works at the stables, If any of you want to have someone you know know in the city im open for that as well.

Nice to meet you!

Raven technically is Sczarni, which could make him look untrustworthy to Calin. However, he is one of the friendliest Sczarni you'll ever meet. I don't know how much pull Raven will have with the Sandpoint gang, but we might be able to solve your problem at the Feedbag.

Thank you very much for this opportunity, GM Wasted!

It's nice to meet everyone. My name is Simon. I look forward to having my character, Raven Zarelli, become friends with the whole party. I'd love to discuss any possible character connections, or answer any questions about him. His Campaign Trait Family Ties could cause trouble, but I think it's really fun! Raven is not a fighter at all. He is purely support as befits his nature. I hope to be useful!

In terms of teamwork and tactics, he is a bit strange. He is a Varisian Pilgrim Cleric. Along with the standard Selective Channel Healing, he has an ability called Caravan Bond; this ability allows him to use his Domain Powers on an ally within 30 feet, rather than Touch range. At 1st level he can only affect 4 allies, so I plan to Bond Selaros, Calin, Lynleera, and Mary. Don't worry Sizma, I can still use them at short range, which should be easy if we're both behind the front line.

His Domain Abilities are Bit of Luck and Touch of Good. The former allows you to roll twice and take the better of any d20 roll (meaning multiple) for 1 Round. Touch of Good gives you my 1/2 Level bonus to all (again, multiple) Attack Rolls, Skill Checks, Ability Checks, and Saving Throws for 1 Round. I have 6/Day of each. I prioritize Bit of Luck as it is mathematically superior at Level 1, though Touch of Good becomes competitive later on.

He can only affect 1 ally at a time as usual with Domain Powers, but his other feat is Combat Advice. This allows him to use his Move Action to give a +2 Competence Bonus on the next (only the first) attack that ally makes . To maximize efficiency, he will select separate targets for the Domain Power and Combat Advice each round.

My apologies for the excessive detail! This is mostly to show what he'll be doing in advance so there are no surprises during the game, because it is unusual.

Congratulations everyone! Best of luck to our friends who do not have a table. I hope to see you all again sometime. :)

That's pretty cool, although it does mean we are all less likely to be chosen.

That's true. It's been nice to get to know all the other applicants though. Maybe someone will have more free time if they're not selected and make their own campaign, that others here can join. Or maybe two or more people that weren't selected apply to something else and get in together. It's all good. We're like all in a class (or thread) together! Pathfinder networking!

I like your backstory, Sizma. I believe that's three characters with Family Ties, each of them being a unique take on the trait's story. We could be like, Team Family Ties!

Quisli Japewhim wrote:
If we have multiple Family Ties characters, we can probably work it in that we're traveling together.

Sounds great! Here's hoping. I find it to be a really interesting trait because it associates you with shady people, but everything else is open-ended. In my character's case, it causes a conflict with him on a Good/Evil Axis. With your character, it seems to cause a conflict on a kind of Nature/Civilization Axis. Very flexible trait. :)

Cool! I've had my eye on Feyspeaker ever since I bought Ultimate Intrigue. It will be nice to see one in action hopefully.

It's great to see other Family Ties characters, too. It will be funny if multiple players end up visiting that trait's NPC. I'm thinking of calling him "Uncle Jubrayl."

I love everyone's character! It's all very exciting. I'd kind of like to watch the festivities even if I don't get in, but I probably can't; I do want to play Runelords some day and that would unfortunately mean spoilers. C'est la vie!

Great question!

At heart, I'm a story-teller. So I want to see what stats people get, and what they come up with. I'm less worries about balancing stats than I am about finding characters with interesting stories to tell (and making sure that we have a diverse array of classes).

Consider the Fellowship of the Ring. Merry and Pippin clearly don't have stats anywhere near those of Aragorn, but they are integral to the story because of the things they do, who they are, and the choices they make

I am very glad to hear that! I only rolled 17 PB, so went with the 20 PB. Even if my fellow players get 30 PB or something, I don't mind. Everyone's a team after all. :)

Clerics have always been a great class. What I appreciate about Pathfinder is that it has significantly leveled the playing field as far as non-full casters go. I mean, fighters don't suck. That's crazy

I love fighter-type classes, but I'm not very good at playing them. I've tried a few times in PFS. Casters seem to be much easier for me for some reason. Support Casters that is; I've never played a Blaster or anything like that. My favorite part is when everyone works together! Sometimes I think it's weird that I never swing my weapons on certain characters, but my friends say healing and buffs really help too. That makes me happy at least.

Oh, I'm sorry if I talk too much! It's just really fun to make friends and stuff.

GM Wasted wrote:
While I am certainly inclined to select a divine caster, there's still five days for people to apply. I'd hate to ask you to focus here and then not select you for whatever reason.

Oh, certainly! That is very thoughtful of you. I will just keep an eye on things and see how selection goes then. I hope more Clerics apply at least, so everyone else is likely to have one in the final party. I have noticed that Pathfinder has become expansive enough that other classes can replace the need for Clerics. They are still one of my favorite classes though. They're really fun!

Thank you very much Lynleera! That was a super helpful listing. I'm surprised I'm the only Cleric so far. :)

GM Wasted, I have not yet received a reply to the other game I applied for. It's still active technically, but if you would like me to commit to this game I'll see what I can do. I'd love to help out as a Party Healer and Buffer.

Raven is a Varisian Pilgrim Cleric. He has weapons, but ideally he will never use them. He's a decent healer with 14 Charisma and Selective Channel (Was hoping for higher rolls. C'est la vie!), but his main ability is Caravan Bond. My strategy is to use Caravan Bond with Bit of Luck or Touch of Good, along with Combat Advice. If all goes well, I can hand out "roll twice, take higher" or "plus 1/2 Level" to the biggest damage dealer's d20 rolls at 30 feet. Combat Advice lets me get use out of my move actions by giving +2 Competence to one Attack Roll to the same or another party member.

In addition, I will prepare the standard Cleric buffs so I can affect everyone else. I enjoy support characters because I actually do not like violence that much. Everyone else should feel free to inflict violence within reason, of course.
