Apologies @GM, but I’m confused regarding the Monarch’s current elevation. The descriptive text says “they flutter towards the ground”, but the round tracker still has them as 20 ft above the ground.

Charming stumbles on a loose rock just in time to avoid the worst of the fey’s chill. Looking up, he sees Orin fighting all by himself. “Oh, you need a friend!” he calls cheerfully. “Let me see who’s nearby!” Softly the young man starts to hum, then whistle, then finally bellow like a prima dona at Oopara’s finest theater.

(Apologies, not at my computer so I can’t update the summoned monster alias, so I’ll link the bestiary entry and roll in the same post.)

From the trees, the sound of buzzing answers. A massive wasp the size of a horse emerges from the foliage. It listens for a moment to Charming’s song, then flies around the monarch and jabs with its stinger.

Charming is barely left standing after the frigid onslaught. Teeth chattering, he pulls a flower from his belt. The sight of its cheerful red color seems to bring some cheer back into his face, as does the memory of helping someone out on an early mission. Slowly he stumbles out of the foliage.

That cold resistance 1 from the Touched by the Storm boon was the only thing keeping him upright after that Crit fail. Using another boon to cast lay on hands.

Charming doesn’t seem to notice the overly-friendly vegetation as he watches Qxal take to the skies. He whistles sharply, then points at the purple flower in Orin’s beard. Again the eagles swoop down from the sky - this time each grabbing the dwarf by one of his shoulders and lifting him skyward.

Charming coughs and whistles in the fog. From overhead, a pair of eagles swoop down and flap their wings in time with the tune.

Casting gust of wind towards Qxal [AA] and inspire courage [A]. Hoping that either the wind disburses the fog entirely or that it makes a “channel” of sorts that folks can breath easy in.

So if I understand correctly, the curse itself is lvl 4, so we need to purchase lvl 5 spellcasting services at 80 gp and that guarantees success. Is that correct?

Charming happily braids flowers into everyone’s hair as they prepare. He gives an especially purple one to Orin just before the team gets back up.

If possible, Charming would cast nymph’s token on Orin right before we start the next encounter. If not, he’ll try to do so on the first round of combat.

After gaping like a fish for a few seconds, he seems to regain his senses (though the color has drained from his face). Sharply he whistles, and from the trees descends a swarm of moths that leave a cloud of dust in their wake.

And a few snails too. The mollusks begin moving with supernatural speed, coating the ground beneath the overly-friendly tree with slimy trails of mucus before vanishing back into the underbrush.

Dispel magic doesn’t have a heightened entry, but the fact that it makes a counteract check means its effectiveness depends on it being cast using higher and higher level spell slots (since the counteract subsystem compares effect levels against each other). It’s kinda a neat check-and-balance, but it’s not clear from the spell description that that’s what’s going on mechanically unless you’re already familiar with the counteract rules.

Charming wipes the tears from his face and goes to hug Orin. “Why would they do that?” he sniffles. “Why we’re they so bloodthirsty?” This goes on for over a minute, but when the human finally lets the dwarven warrior go Orin finds himself feeling less drained than before.

Using two charges from the staff of healing to cast restoration on Orin to reduce his Drained condition by 2.

And while Charming can treat wounds, he’s not particularly good at it - so if someone else wants to do so, just say the word!

I’m not sure if that means no damage or half damage. If it’s half, GM can roll it and add the damage to the round tracker - it shouldn’t change Charming’s actions for this round.
