"Only Rufo and I have aged.

My original post from my phone. I got in a hurry last night posting it on my laptop, sorry.

Ratel Dier wrote:

As they shuffle the prisoners off, Ratel remembered something the Prefect had told him. Moving close to the old priest he asks, "Prefect Cornelius earlier you said the acolytes and others had never aged since you arrived. Does that include these three prisoners or Beldar the Sodden?"

I tried posting this from my phone, but for some reason it did not post.

"Only Rufo and I have not aged."

With the confirmation that the party plans to go down into the tunnels Father Cornelius gives Iz-dubar a ring.

Iz-dubar:
A lion headed, gold ring with topaz eyes. It radiates a continuous protection from evil spell as if cast by a 20th level Cleric. It was you or Ratel that Cornelius was going to give this to. You will not need additional treasure for awhile.

When Iz puts on the ring appears a handsome fighter in shining gold +2 celestial full plate. With tawny golden hair and amber, cat eyes he carries a +2 holy cold iron great sword. As he appears he stars to sing,
"There’s many men get store of treasure
yet they live like very slaves:
In this world they have no pleasure
the more they have, the more they crave.
Hang such greedy-minded misers,
that will ne’r contented be.
I am George, Prince of the High Peaks and Champion of the Faith. Blessed be ye all in the name of Mitra!"

Father Cornelius asks, "I heard you talk about the tunnels. Are you going down in them to fight the minions of Set?"

Father Cornelius follows you inside the manor. Very interested in the book, "This is a Tome of the Word and Law of Mitra. It was was one of the original relics of the shrine."
Noticing Felix discovering the trap door, "Another entrance down below it seems. There used to be treasure seekers here from all over seeking relics from the White Tower."

Coming over from the shrine is old Cornelius, "Hello, hello! Problems with Lord Avaakris? He is a strange one, keeps odd hours. Too fond of snakes!"

"Hmm, come to think of it, Avvakris’s Trade Monopoly does tend to get some exotic merchandise around the same time...." Cornelius ruffles his brow trying to think.

Rufo shuffles over to the closest party member, "I would not be talkin so loud here. There be spies everywhere. Meet me at the tailor shop V-9 in 20 minutes."

Cornelius responds to Ratel as he takes a break from gardening, "Oh, yes a few. We get very few visitors here, but none of them seem to leave they just seem to disappear."

One of the few people you do see is Rufo tending to the previous night's trash.

Looking up from his gardening seeing the pirate captain in a panic, "Another mysterious disappearance!"

If you mention the white tower Cornelius will show you around the shrine saying "yes, yes."

He is suspicious of the acolytes.

"I have been here 20 years and none of them have aged a day. For that matter no one else in town seems to have either come to think of it...."

The acolytes appear to be in their early 20s.

He stumbles a bit with his words almost whispering so the acolytes cannot hear, "The Tower, of course. Of that I can say no more."

He pulls you close "There is a secret entrance into the tunnel below the village, under the front two pews of the shrine."

Thoron, buy your waterskins. Then the shop is closed.

"You are welcome here at anytime. Just beware those that worship the god of snakes."

"Come, yes, come to our father's shrine. I am the prefect Cornelius. Mitra's Fist has been my station these last 20 years." He stops and inspects Iz-dubar's vestments, "What are you, a paladin, a priest? I have been rather out of touch it seems. Never mind these young acolytes. They mean well, but sometimes they can get a bit overprotective!" He leads you into the shrine area. Inside, a large white marble statue of Mitra dominates the circular, domed chapel. It depicts Mitra as a well formed, Adonis like youth, crushing the head of a serpent.
You see the ring he is wearing and for a second it brings back the dream of the lion faced bartender.

Iz sees an old man walking from the shrine to the hovel. About halfway there he turns to Iz and says, "Well hello, how are you? I always welcome visitors."
