Just checking in once again. I've written to the GM but if I don't hear back I think I'll withdraw from this game. Anyone else still here?

Bump, just so this reappears in my active list. Not sure if the game is ever going to be resumed or what...

I'm fine with that, or really anything that works for everyone else. Glad to hear that Ietsuna is ok.

For some reason it caught my eye that the Discussion thread for this game has disappeared - no idea why - so I took it as an excuse to reach out to Ietsuna and see if they are ok. I'm ok with continuing to wait if that's what they prefer but if we don't hear back from them we should probably consider looking for another GM to take over or to just issue chronicle sheets and call it a game.

I'm still here but no worries if the GM wants/needs to take a break. Real life is pretty hectic for me these days and I'm in no rush with the game.

Phidöe wags his tail in appreciation at Onna's keen eyesight. Then he growls threateningly at the dark tunnel ahead, as if he hopes to scare the trap away.

Phidöe checks the scuffed muck that Onna is pointing to and then trots off in that direction, hoping not to find any traps.

Phidöe momentarily ponders his many failures to study much at all while at school before sighing and seeing if he can possibly once again assist Onna with the tracking task at hand.

Phidöe heads in that direction, sniffing as he goes, and doing his best to avoid the temptation of any wayward sticks.

I forgot all about the climb check last time! Oops, hope it's ok if I retcon that in here as part of my move action last time. Otherwise disregard the second attack below as I can only make a single attack if I am also Climbing.

Phidöe hurries into battle a bit late, apparently momentarily distracted by a stick off in the corner somewhere.

Phidöe's tiny size makes the crawl through the maze less unpleasant for him than the others but still he doesn't love being cooped up like this. Ah, you can hardly throw a stick down here!

Phidöe would have asked one of his friends to activate his wand of mage armor before the returned to the area.

Phidöe sniffs at the air, trying to see if he can help Onna make sense of the area.

Then he quietly enters the tunnel to see what he can see or smell.

Stealth: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (2) + 20 = 22

Phidöe wags his tail in agreement with the proposed plan, being careful not to reveal that he is in fact a talking dog. He follows Ikari as he departs.

Phidöe growls for a moment before acquiescing and retreating with his tail between his legs.

If no one is paying particular attention to him, Phidöe will sniff around the waterless pool. If this attracts anyone's negative attention he will act as though he is just looking for places to mark with his scent.

Sorry for the slow posting - I'm traveling this week and had a few days of being busy with my five year old and my 80 year old mother. Catching up now.

Phidöe woofs in agreement with Kenta's observation about the sacred duty to protect one's friends. He wags his tail in a way that lets no observer doubt that he is indeed a "good boy."

When the group reaches the auction space Phidöe shares Kenta's anxious energy. He takes all his will power not to spring forward and free the poor prisoners.

Phidöe is LG and a Paladin, so he is certainly not going to willfully ignore the rules of Katapesh. At the same time, he is a member of the Liberty's Edge faction and his character concept is all about being an escaped slave who is still being pursued, so he is going to regard lawful slavery (and slavers) as lawful evil.

I'm not trying to be difficult or to derail the module and will do my best to work within the framework provided. Maybe Phidöe will see if he can haul any of the slavers off to Andoran or something like that...

Phidöe growls in acknowledgment of Whispershade's explanation. "I ain't no murderer, that's fer sure. I'll my best to help them slavers see the error o' their ways without killing 'em. 'less I got no other choice..."

When Phidöe hears that the mission involves slavers the fur on his body all stands alert and he begins to growl as he recalls his long years of involuntary servitude to the "giants." (actually Oreads, but he can't really tell the difference)

"About these, these, ahem, slavers... do you require them alive? Or may we ahem dispose of them as we see fit?"

Sorry for the posting delay, everyone. I got back from my trip awhile ago but have been busy playing catch up ever since.

Phidöe is rather alarmed to receive a letter addressed to him but he does his best not to show his comrades. Someone knows where I am! Does this mean that the giants have picked up my trail? I will attend this meeting - the better to learn who it is that is tracking me - but I must be wary of a trap. And my comrades! I would never forgive myself if any ill should befall them!

During the boat ride he hardly sleeps and is uncharacteristically unwilling to play fetch or any of his other usual pastimes. By the time the group enters the Midnight Interlude he is on full alert and he growls and sniffs at Onna's latte, suspecting poison, before he will let her take a sip.

Phidöe is delighted by the assistance provided by Itami and Navi and he can't help but thank them. "Much obliged fer yer cooperation, doncha know! I was sure this was gonna turn inta 'nother game o' fetch, an' this time I'da deserved it!"

This time the "dog" is much more cautious about maintaining his balance while speaking and the rings remain in their appointed position.

An orange and white dog is also in attendance, looking rather unusually clean, and proudly balancing the wedding rings atop his snout.

He growls amiably at anyone in his path, "Outa th' way! I gotta get these rings to them what're gettin' married - I told 'em I'd take 'em an' I ain't 'xactly sure o' the way."

If any passerby are startled by the appearance of a talking dog, Phidöe - for such is his name - takes no notice as his talking causes him to fumble the two rings that he was deftly balancing and they fall to the floor and roll away!

Phidöe wags his tail enthusiastically throughout Onna's explanation. "Woof, woof, woooooof!"

For faction journal purposes, did we liberate a "slave, captive, or hostage"? Or defeat a known slaver? Or defy local law or tradition?

Phidöe jumps upon the prone Feet's chest, snarling and ready to show him the error of his ways if he tries to wake up.

"Murder? Did someone say something about murder?!?" Phidöe growls in a shocked tone. "Certainly not! This fellow must be brought to trial to face a jury of his peers." He glances at his bizarre countenance. "Or a jury of somebody anyway! It's only cricket, dontcha know?"

Phidöe looks at his comrades to see if any of them need his assistance. Once (if?) he feels confident that they are managing, he scampers towards the exit. Movement speed of 40' - will double move unless needed to help drag Feet or any other survivors.

Phidöe continues to batter the creature, once with his tail and once with a paw.

Is Hiiragi at the same level? If so, can Phidöe 5' step to be adjacent to her? I ask because this will give him (and her) flanking on the creature. I have not (yet) adjusted P's position on the map.

Thanks for the side view - that does help a lot. I'll do a single move to the 1st floor (northern end next to the top of the furnace as you mentioned) and then take a move action to scent, looking for the invisible creature.

Phidöe growls and moves back down to the first floor, sniffing for any sign of their monstrous prey.

Thanks for this explanation. Unfortunately, looking at the map I'm still unsure where I should be moving, or even where I need to go to move down a level. Is it possible to just move me in the direction of the banging furnace, with 80' of movement (and/or possibly using a move action to use scent to try to determine where the invisible creature is, if the stench isn't overwhelming that possibility)? I think I'll need to use Acrobatics to jump down each of the 10' levels but with Phidöe's Acrobatics skill (even sickened) I think he won't take any damage from deliberately jumping and therefore won't be prone.

Are we still on slide 10? And if so, where do I want to go to get to whatever our new foe is (which I think we can't see yet?)? A double move for Phidöe will move him 80' but I'm not too clear where on the map I should go.
