Im gonna be awol until tomorrow gang.

A Returning Starknife +1 is 8300gp, unfortunately Aurin only has 863 gold and a bowl.

Arun: 800gp
.
Breeze's prize: a spell book, 1600 gp value worth of spells, pick spells (any source material)

Holy crap that was three days of catch up reading. Will Breeze or Arun be buying any gear while at the markets? Hint - maybe last chance for awhile.

[I've had posts that immediately disappear after Submit as well, I'm using Word to edit when I can.

Quick note from the new field guide released last night.

Halfway through Season 9, the Scarab Sages faction
became inactive. While the Pathfinder Society campaign
is unlikely to produce more content to support this
faction, characters who are already members of the
Scarab Sages can retain their membership in the faction
and continue to spend Prestige Points on faction benefits.
Characters who are members of the Scarab Sages can also
switch to another faction at a cost of 0 Prestige Points
at the beginning of the next adventure they play after
August 2, 2018.

Ah yes, just downloaded the guide - thanks guys.

Thanks Nefreet.

Yes I was looking for an update to Moreland's example.

Is it an errata somewhere that I need to look up? Like finding this post in a thread.

http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2njpy?Master-of-the-Fallen-Fortress#24

Which leads me to this thread.

http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2pgbh?Free-RPG-Day-Module-Credit

And yet still, it seems to not be the most current ruling.

LOL that Phantasmal Killer is a statistical bucket.

also No Anti-Swarm - nuff said.

Quests give no Prestige Points, no gold, and no XP. They're just extra encounters that provide a boon for PCs who go through them. -Mark Moreland

Hi All, Please help clarify what products give (or doesn't give) Prestige Points, Gold, and XP. I recently read something about modules like Masters of the Fallen Fortress previously did not give XP, but now it does. Now I'm totally confused. And how does replayability as a PC or as a GM. A table of sorts would really help.

Prestige Points, Gold, XP, Boon, [PC replay, GM replay credit, etc.]

Quest: no, no, no, yes, ...
Scenarios:
Modules:
Adventure Paths:
etc:

More great stories!

Ward Davis -GMs count every death 4-6, players count only their own death.
***Yes that is right on.

Christian Dragos -It is my long held belief that high tier 5-9's are where unprepared PC's go to die!
***So true, with characters I entered into 5-9 games, I either get a solid or a worried feeling. It really points out your characters' flaws that for some reason was not evident through 1-5.

I was thinking the nature PFS garnered a lot of kid gloves treatment. I thought it would be more like 1 in 100 games.

I find it almost comical how the Gameday kills all new game for a month as GMs don't want to overlap the running burden. Then when it hits, everybody burns out for 3-4 months and comes back after the new year.

Geez so it does happen more often than I thought. These stories are hilarious (albeit tragic for the player).

RealAlchemy -- Bodak gaze to the face, rolled max

Selvaxri -- poor strategy of using Detonate as his go-to spell

NiTessine -- the only survivor of a six-person team escaped TPK by throwing herself through a second-story window.

Mr. Bonkers -- a party of four Charisma-dumped Dwarves

Davor Firetusk -- 1 true kill, 1st level of Thornkeep

Tommi Ketonen -- a whopping 14d6+14 damage

If you are a DM and have run PFS games, how many PC deaths have you had? Especially those who've run a lot of games.

How many TPKs?
How many almost-TPKs? How many survived?

Most curious how/why it happened...there's probably lots of great stories in this.

Even for myself, who've played for four decades, I know playing and GMing a standard homebrew or module pretty well. But when it comes to PFS legal characters, it's kinda like....

Non-PFS: I'll take the Big Mac with cheese extra pickles, small Coke, thanks.

PFS: You can have a Big Mac made by that guy, but only when he's on a lunch break, but also only before he becomes the night manager; extra pickle is limited to one but only if we know you well enough; drinks are out of the question; napkins may or may not be available depending on what you consider to be a napkin. If you don't understand this, go ask a message board, who were also told the same thing but probably have smarter people who understood it.

This is great info guys, appreciate the help.

The Field Guide seems to heavily and unnecessarily rely on interpretation. I wish it would give direct examples like these answers.

Ok, so let me push this amateur spells related question farther... Can a PFS wizard purchase a Wand of Some Obscure X Level Spell, Caster Level X. Please cite.

This is so valuable info!

I'm probably just thick as a spellbook. Thanks everyone!

Ah yes thanks Nefreet, I've seen that link as well. Though I mean, where does it say something like 'You can also always buy any spells from the Grand Lodge.'

I would not have concluded that reading -How much does it cost for my prepared spellcaster to learn a spell from an NPC?... implied anything more.

Totally appreciate these answers. And where did Paizo put this PFS bit of info?

A PFS wizard gains more spells into his spellbook when:

  • he levels up
  • he scribes it from an npc during a scenario
  • he finds it in a scroll during a scenario
  • he buys a scroll from scenario chronicle
  • he shares his spellbook with other PFS PCs

Suppose the PFS wizard is 5th level with 20 Fame, and 6000gp, and wants a Fireball spell added to his spellbook -can he just buy it (with gold)? Please elaborate, cite and kindly give an example. Thank you.

I have found these two Add'l Resources but doesn't address the issue.

Thanks for running this! Planning on running anything else soon?

I may do a lightning fast one to get an extra xp to level prep a PC. I'll post it in Recruiting prob this weekend.

Next run, player list:
Geyal Nord
CariMac
Khelreddin
MisterSlanky

Wow... This speaks for itself. The Holy Grail of RPG.

Look at the authors.

Likely I'll run another back to back, I'll PM those wanting a run in a couple of weeks.

...and a 5 star VL

OK I'm closing it with:

GM Turmoil
Gayel Nord
GM Aerondor
GM Lithrac
GM Thunderspirit

I think there'll be four for sure, five is okay too. Go ahead and check in.

EDIT: Yep Nebten, I probably should have expected that, didn't really think about it beforehand. I got an owlbear boon and a dinosaur boon, I just didn't expect a table of great GMs in three hours.

Yea, this always backfires.

I do games with first come deadline - I get all new members.
I do games with variable deadline - I get 3 GMs (two with 3 stars) and a Venture Agent.

Creating Discussion to dot for updates.

Badass...

I thought it would fun to run a game with all gripplis characters in Reaping What We Sow 8-06. Keeping it to 4 seats for the challenge and for the likelihood that not many players have the gripplis character boon to use. If slow sign-ups then first come and recruiting stays open until 4 seats reached; if larger response, then lottery after 24-48 hrs.

Paizo perps get are very trigger (keyboard) happy. Posting speed varies but I feel faster pace than what I've seen on dndonlinegames (RPGCrossing) and Mythweavers. I believe this is due to the nature Pathfinder Society Scenarios which have an expected high rate of post. As I am GMing one and PCing five other games, I would prefer a steady but not so fast pace. 72 is three days = 2 posts per week. Probably 48 is the longest during non-combat, 24 in-combat.

No prob on non-canon races. How do you plan on handling xp and leveling?

Hey LN - mutual diehard fan of Planescape. I'd like to put in for a spot.

Me: Been playing Planescape since launch, own just about all the 2ed sets and manuals. Ran Planescape PbP on Mythweavers for Blayz (dev & owner) for many years. Currently run tabletop with my local buds and a PbP for my distant buds.

Initial idea that will prob change in about 5 mins later: Mercykiller, planar elf, 'magic-user'

Ahhh, yes, very helpful thank you.
