I will be mostly unavailable this entire week. I am volunteering as a camp counselor and the only free time we get is a little bit in the late evening before we go to sleep. I may be able to slip in some small posts during that time, but I wouldn't count on much. Apologies for the short notice, and please DMPC me as needed.

I definitely recommend Bloodborne. It's a much faster-paced and aggressive version of Dark Souls (I know, it makes Dark Souls seem not that aggressive by comparison). Once I went back to Dark Souls I just kept thinking "Wow, heavy armor and shields are so nice".

As a heads up to everybody in all of my games, I will be having a drastic schedule change for the summer. I am no longer working a normal 9-5 job (don't worry I didn't get fired, it was an internship position that ended), and instead will be only working on the weekends. I will not be able to post at all most weekends, expect maybe some quick posts late at night. During the week I should be able to post very often, perhaps not quite as much later in the day. Also I will be spending quite a bit of the upcoming summer doing some world traveling, which will mean frequent vacations where I will most likely not be posting. I will let everybody know when I will be gone. Speaking of which, I will be gone this Monday through Wednesday. I can possibly sneak some quick posting in at night, but I wouldn't count on much. However as a general note, my posting amount should generally increase since I will have a lot of free time during the week. Thank you everybody for your understanding, and happy gaming!

Pathfinder is my favorite d&d style game, although in the past few years they've been coming out with some broken comment that reminds me of how 3.5 went down the s&~@ter. I've played one game of 5E and what I know so far is that it's simpler but also gives less options for character versatility.

As far as an overarching plot, I feel like I did when I was in middle school reading the Shannara series; there is certainly some complex overarching narrative going on, but I'm just having fun with all the fighting.

Survival: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22 Pahleg casts about for the source of the voice, giving a wary smile. "And tell us, oh keeper of the senses, what is it that you have kept hidden from us?" Who is our biggest glass cannon? Who would benefit most from a shield other spell?

Please, do not stay behind on my account. I do think there's a good argument for me leveling up first, but not at the expense of somebody falling two levels behind. Besides, as Ulrich says, healing cannot win a fight.

I apologize everybody for slowing down the game with my bad tracking. Since Kekkle has 22 hp and I would roughly match his damage, let's call it in the 25 area to be conservative. Channel: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (2, 5) + 1 = 82d6 + 1 ⇒ (6, 6) + 1 = 13 So 4 down, then 18 damage, so I'm at 5 hp now. Again, sorry everybody.

Pahleg raises his arms and a burst of radiant light comes forth from him, but instead of filling his allies with vigor it reaps destruction amongst the unliving. Channel Damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 4) + 3 = 9 DC 13 will save for half damage. Channel resistance does not apply if they have it. Fear the sun domain.

Buffs for Araden: Protection from Evil
If we want to try this again I could prepare another buffing 2nd level spell. Pahleg begins chanting while holding his holy symbol, and after more than half a minute he steps away. "Go now, some of those don't last very long. And good luck my friend!"

I always feel bad when I pull this card because I feel like I'm calling myself overly important, but I don't think we should ever go into a boss fight without our dedicated healer. That's a steep price from the Baroness, losing the boss soul. Can you remind us, what exactly is the difference between a boss soul and a labyrinth soul?

Indeed, it sounds interesting but I try not to overload. I remember the days where I had ~35 active games. Not a good time for me. I actually haven't gotten a chance to play Dark Souls 3 yet, because I'm too cheap to buy a console that can run it (and my laptop is too weak). Definitely sounds like an interesting mechanic, even though it's a strait debuff. But since when is the game supposed to be easy? I'm certainly down to at least try it out, seems like it could be cool! My only concern is that, while it is thematically appropriate and an interesting mechanic, that us casters don't fall behind in power because of it: this is in fact a game ruled by Pathfinder mechanics, and it's a very delicate balance system. Clerics have access to a significantly larger spell list because (in general) divine magic is weaker than arcane magic and has more useful applications. Perhaps clerics would gain access to the "always available" spells, and in addition just like a wizard they gain a certain number of spells for leveling up? So I would get a few of the more exotic spells for free from leveling up, but any more would require looking for them.

Yeah if we can get a healer's kit or at least some basic supplies, I can provide long-term care to significantly increase our natural healing.

Sorry for the delays and absences in my posting. I have now completely moved into my new apartment and just went through orientation for my internship. It seems I will have a pretty normal 40 hour work week, a 9-5 job (eastern time) for Monday-Friday. So my posting will mostly be in the evenings and weekends, although I usually play with my local group on Sunday. Thanks for bearing with me through this time of change. |
