Bumping so I can mark as inactive. It has been a fun ride all, I hope we can play together in the future sometime!

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

Bump: Gameplay thread was inactive long enough that it came off my campaign page.

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

How much has everyone here played Bloodborne? Could I talk about some of the NPC questlines without spoilers?

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

I will be mostly unavailable this entire week. I am volunteering as a camp counselor and the only free time we get is a little bit in the late evening before we go to sleep. I may be able to slip in some small posts during that time, but I wouldn't count on much. Apologies for the short notice, and please DMPC me as needed.

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

I definitely recommend Bloodborne. It's a much faster-paced and aggressive version of Dark Souls (I know, it makes Dark Souls seem not that aggressive by comparison). Once I went back to Dark Souls I just kept thinking "Wow, heavy armor and shields are so nice".

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

Here and waiting. Been playing through Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 so I'm definitely in the frame of mind to keep this campaign moving.

Also Bloodborne is waaaay harder than Dark Souls 3.

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

Friendly bump: I know we're on hiatus, but just checking the pulse of the game.

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

As a heads up to everybody in all of my games, I will be having a drastic schedule change for the summer.

I am no longer working a normal 9-5 job (don't worry I didn't get fired, it was an internship position that ended), and instead will be only working on the weekends. I will not be able to post at all most weekends, expect maybe some quick posts late at night. During the week I should be able to post very often, perhaps not quite as much later in the day.

Also I will be spending quite a bit of the upcoming summer doing some world traveling, which will mean frequent vacations where I will most likely not be posting. I will let everybody know when I will be gone. Speaking of which, I will be gone this Monday through Wednesday. I can possibly sneak some quick posting in at night, but I wouldn't count on much.

However as a general note, my posting amount should generally increase since I will have a lot of free time during the week.

Thank you everybody for your understanding, and happy gaming!

I'll have to read more on clerics in 5e I suppose. Just feel like it might nix some of Pahleg's core abilities.

I'll stay regardless though.

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

Pathfinder is my favorite d&d style game, although in the past few years they've been coming out with some broken comment that reminds me of how 3.5 went down the s$!$ter.

I've played one game of 5E and what I know so far is that it's simpler but also gives less options for character versatility.

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

Bump to see who's still following along. I eagerly await our revival!

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

Probably something like an Asmodean utopia. Law and order ruled, the strong survived. A more lawful evil as opposed to this chaotic evil.

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

As far as an overarching plot, I feel like I did when I was in middle school reading the Shannara series; there is certainly some complex overarching narrative going on, but I'm just having fun with all the fighting.

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

Pahleg smiles for a moment, but it is brief. Surely trickery.

Will to disbelieve: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

Those were the two I was deciding between :/ haha. I suppose Kekkle has higher AC and HP, so I'll go for Tannan.

Pahleg casts shield other on Tannan, anticipating a fight.

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

Survival: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

Pahleg casts about for the source of the voice, giving a wary smile. "And tell us, oh keeper of the senses, what is it that you have kept hidden from us?"

Who is our biggest glass cannon? Who would benefit most from a shield other spell?

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

"Oh what a cache! Food, potions!" Pahleg takes a happy bite, then gags. "Ok, just potions."

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

"Aaaarrgh! That is NOT fun." He gives a sad smile. "Better me than you though. It seems we were victorious, well done!"

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

Please, do not stay behind on my account. I do think there's a good argument for me leveling up first, but not at the expense of somebody falling two levels behind. Besides, as Ulrich says, healing cannot win a fight.

Pahleg moves forward and stabs at the skeleton next to Ulrich!

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

Pahleg gasps at the sudden onslaught, then channels to keep himself alive.

Channel (to heal living): 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (2, 2) + 1 = 5

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

I apologize everybody for slowing down the game with my bad tracking.

Since Kekkle has 22 hp and I would roughly match his damage, let's call it in the 25 area to be conservative.

Channel: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (2, 5) + 1 = 82d6 + 1 ⇒ (6, 6) + 1 = 13

So 4 down, then 18 damage, so I'm at 5 hp now. Again, sorry everybody.

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

I thought it was assumed we healed before moving on. I'm sorry, I'm just a mess trying to keep up. If you want I can burn some resources or we can just assume I go down.

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

Sorry, my stat line was not up to date. I was uninjured coming into this fight, so 18 damage would put me at 9 hp.

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

Ah, thank you. Double move to the right.

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

I am so terrible at figuring out the map. Where are we?

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

Pahleg raises his arms and a burst of radiant light comes forth from him, but instead of filling his allies with vigor it reaps destruction amongst the unliving.

Channel Damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 4) + 3 = 9

DC 13 will save for half damage. Channel resistance does not apply if they have it. Fear the sun domain.

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

"A large group of semi-weak undead? I could blast through their ranks very quickly." Pahleg says with a grin.

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

I'm basically out of spells, but I have all my channels.

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

Does shield other appear to be working through the fog wall? Is Pahleg taking damage?

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

Don't forget that protection from evil stops mind control and summoned creatures! (If evil)

Buffs for Araden: Protection from Evil
Shield Other
Shield of Faith
Sanctuary
Guidance
Sun Metal

If we want to try this again I could prepare another buffing 2nd level spell.

Pahleg begins chanting while holding his holy symbol, and after more than half a minute he steps away. "Go now, some of those don't last very long. And good luck my friend!"

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

I always feel bad when I pull this card because I feel like I'm calling myself overly important, but I don't think we should ever go into a boss fight without our dedicated healer.

That's a steep price from the Baroness, losing the boss soul. Can you remind us, what exactly is the difference between a boss soul and a labyrinth soul?

Male Aasimar Cleric 4 | AC 15, Touch 10, FF 15 | HP 35/35 | F +7, R +2, W +8 | Init +0 | Perc +5

Oh I would try to prepare them as the sun rises, or if it's not possible to notice, when we wake up and assume the sun would rise.

I say boss bottle!

Indeed, it sounds interesting but I try not to overload. I remember the days where I had ~35 active games. Not a good time for me.

I actually haven't gotten a chance to play Dark Souls 3 yet, because I'm too cheap to buy a console that can run it (and my laptop is too weak).

Definitely sounds like an interesting mechanic, even though it's a strait debuff. But since when is the game supposed to be easy?

I'm certainly down to at least try it out, seems like it could be cool! My only concern is that, while it is thematically appropriate and an interesting mechanic, that us casters don't fall behind in power because of it: this is in fact a game ruled by Pathfinder mechanics, and it's a very delicate balance system. Clerics have access to a significantly larger spell list because (in general) divine magic is weaker than arcane magic and has more useful applications.

Perhaps clerics would gain access to the "always available" spells, and in addition just like a wizard they gain a certain number of spells for leveling up? So I would get a few of the more exotic spells for free from leveling up, but any more would require looking for them.

Healing wrote:

Natural Healing

With a full night’s rest (8 hours of sleep or more), you recover 1 hit point per character level. Any significant interruption during your rest prevents you from healing that night.

If you undergo complete bed rest for an entire day and night, you recover twice your character level in hit points.

Healing Ability Damage
Ability damage is temporary, just as hit point damage is. Ability damage returns at the rate of 1 point per night of rest (8 hours) for each affected ability score. Complete bed rest restores 2 points per day (24 hours) for each affected ability score.

Heal Skill wrote:

Provide Long-Term Care

Providing long-term care means treating a wounded person for a day or more. If your Heal check is successful, the patient recovers hit points or ability score points (lost to ability damage) at twice the normal rate: 2 hit points per level for a full 8 hours of rest in a day, or 4 hit points per level for each full day of complete rest; 2 ability score points for a full 8 hours of rest in a day, or 4 ability score points for each full day of complete rest.

You can tend as many as six patients at a time. You need a few items and supplies (bandages, salves, and so on) that are easy to come by in settled lands. Giving long-term care counts as light activity for the healer. You cannot give long-term care to yourself.

Yeah if we can get a healer's kit or at least some basic supplies, I can provide long-term care to significantly increase our natural healing.

Haha I thought the CLW would roll a little higher!

Pahleg smacks himself in the forehead. "Of course, apologies."

Sorry for the delays and absences in my posting. I have now completely moved into my new apartment and just went through orientation for my internship. It seems I will have a pretty normal 40 hour work week, a 9-5 job (eastern time) for Monday-Friday. So my posting will mostly be in the evenings and weekends, although I usually play with my local group on Sunday. Thanks for bearing with me through this time of change.
