Just a heads-up: my wife is having a hip replacement Friday, so for the next six weeks, she is going to be in recovery mode and I will be handling the house. If I'm late with posts, please be forgiving.
P'Reena has no particular interest in the Enstoot but will remain with her companions.
P'Reena, being illiterate, is not perturbed by not receiving a letter, but is interested enough to ask Zura what hers says.
P'Reena finds it impossible to sit in a chair, so she simply stands beside Zera.
P'Reena is quick to notice the robot that is missing its head and observes the room carefully, looking for hidden weaponry.
P'Reena looks over Zera's shoulder. "What do you suppose those are?" she asks.
Yes, P'Reena follows Zera.
P'reena defends herself viciously.
P'Reena is well aware of what guns can do, even though she has never seen one that fires light! She instinctively seeks cover behind their guide.
Though unprepared for the sudden switch of gravity, P'Reena nonetheless recovers quickly.
P'Reena lets her body float freely, enjoying the sensation.
P'Reena is a bit incensed at being considered a "pet" but defers to Zera's judgment and allows herself to be leashed.
P'Reena can't read and knows little of the artifacts, so she waits for Zera to identify as many as she can.
My father-in-law passed away at 2:04 am this morning. I will be taking a few days to be with my wife during her time of grief and will return shortly. Thank you for understanding.
What is happening to me: I am asking for a pass for the next few days. On Tuesday, my father-in-law collapsed and went into heart failure. They revived him and took him to the ICU where he has been since. Yesterday evening, he was talking and sitting up and asking for water when we left visiting hours. We no sooner got home when they called to tell us that he had coded again (this is the fourth time in as many days). He is currently in cascading organ failure. We have him on dialysis to try to clear his kidneys and jump-start his metabolism, but right now, the only thing keeping him alive is the ventilator and the pacemaker they put in. I don't know how long this will go on, but I ask if I fall behind, you be understanding.
P'Reena watches the jagets leave, saying nothing. She found it a shame that the fight was over so quickly. She looks over the items on the table.
P'Reena will take another shot, then.
P'Reena "rides" the telekinetic wave down, aiming her pistol as soon as she is within visual range.
"Send me down," P'Reena says decisively.
P'Reena swears under her breath. Her chances of getting safely into or out of the pit were slim and none. All she could do was to listen helplessly.
P'Reena looks skeptically at the drop. "I don't think that I can get down there," she says.
P'Reena waits for the tree's assertation of things before acting.
P'Reena will claim the other revolver before going to bed. Upon being awakened, she draws her new weapon and makes sure that it is loaded.
P'Reena politely declines the offer to join. With regards to the Purists, she scowls. "The Knights are the basest level of scum. They deserve nothing more than death!" Her tone leaves no doubt as to her feeling on the matter.
P'Reena is caught off-guard by the sudden change in the one-sidedness of the battle.
P'Reena's grip tightens on her weapon, but she does not make any aggressive moves.
P'Reena watches carefully around the area while Zera does her work. She is certain that this is an ambush waiting to happen.

The next morning, P'Reena shares her bounty with her teammates, dividing the pears as evenly as possible. When Zera mentions the Zoopremists, she frowns. "They can be troublesome. We will need to be careful."
P'Reena smiles and hands over 10 domars. "Keep the change," she advises.
P'Reena pauses for a moment, interested. "I'll take 10. How much?"
"My, ehr, sheer size makes for problems sleeping in an inn, but if you have a warm stable or someplace out of the weather..." "Most of my abilities aren't as flashy. I am extremely resistant to heat and fire, and have night vision and excellent hearing and smell. But there is my ability to move without moving. I think someone called it tel-a-por-ta-tion. I can move from here to over there, but I can only do it every so often. It's very draining."
P'Reena looks at her new companions. "I need provisions, and then I am ready to leave."
P'Reena gets someone to read the board for her (she is illiterate as well) and is considering her options when she is approached by Allen. She nods and follows him up to the meeting.
P'Reena slaps two domars down on the counter and grins. "Anywhere that a girl can find work around here? Odd jobs, maybe? Trouble that needs shooting?"
P'Reena wanders into city limits, taking her time. It has been a long and thirsty journey and she is in need of refreshment. She turns into the nearest tavern and approaches the bar, ducking through the doorway as she enters. Though not exceptionally tall, she is tall enough to bump her head on a doorframe. "Beer, please. Or whatever passes for such around here," she says to the barkeep. |
