Outrun scans the news online and some stories catch his eye. He makes a note and bookmarks all the pages and stories that seem relevant.
In a blink he's sitting opposite her at the same table.
He raises his cup to signal the confused looking waitress at his old table to show that he's move and needs more coffee. Smiling he leans over the table and shows his phone to Hypatia to share his findings.
He swipes to the next article and continues "Someone stung 10 000 times by wasps. Sounds like one of our guys." And then swipes to the last article. "But this here, a lecture tonight at UC-Santa Barbera campus by Templar. I reckon that's just asking for one of our convicts to cause a ruckus." He then sits back as the coffee comes and gets poured into his cup and he nods a thanks with a smile to the waitress then takes a sip waiting for Hypatia's response.
Outrun gets up a little earlier than the others and gets dressed and heads outside. If the motel has a diner attached he head in and has several cups of coffee and double breakfasts. Enjoying the sun and his freedom. Watching the news in the diner and bowling social media on his phone for any activity that looks like it could be caused by the convicts they're looking for.
"A crap, I need to change. I'm pretty noticeable in my gear right now. I'll berightbaaa..." Outrun says as he runs of in a strobing blur towards the closest set of doors. There's a glimpse of him standing at a clothing store handing a credit card over with a wink then pocketing it and less than two minutes later he's standing in cargo pants, t-shirt and denim jacket with his duffel bag over his shoulder and looking on his cellphone through social media for any news about the supervillains that had escaped. "Checking twitter now for any news on the escapees." he says not even looking up.
Outrun, with arms crossed over his chest watches those that leave to go get their belongings. A wry grin on his face as his foot taps the floor. First normally then faster and faster till it's a blur. Then turns to the woman making out like he just only noticed her. "Oh hey. Ready when you are." he says with a cheeky wink. Then looks around for Jax and gives her a casual salute goodbye.
Outrun looks around at each convict as they give their information to The Protector in turn. Mentally taking note of each of them himself. Eventually the man known as the Protector and the rest of the group turn to him, awaiting his response. "Outrun." "I run. Fast." "I shouldn't be here." With that he just goes silent and scowls at the worlds most prominent adventurer.
oops, guess it's my fault there's a third faction. Just think that with Outrun's history he would try get away and thus not side with the authorities or the Rat but still do the right thing with his own brand of heroism.
Outrun gets up and assesses the situation. Taking a look at those assembled near him he says "Fine. How are we going to get out of here? Anyone got any powers to get us up and out? I'm not a fan of the system, but I'm even less of a fan of that asshat and someone needs to stop him and we can't do it in here."
Outrun sits up and looks at everyone now gathered by him. "Who the hell are you people?!" Inmate 91224 (DC 15 Nature): 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (13) + 0 = 13
Inmate 333442334243 (DC 15, 20 and 35 Arcana): 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (12) + 0 = 12 Inmate 222614 (DC 25 & 15 Investigation): 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (12) + 0 = 12
I think those are the only ones around me at the moment. Also I clearly have no proficiencies in any of these things. And nope, don't know anything about anyone
Con Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12 Haha I'm the only ass that failed his Con save. The man known at outrun turns around just as he see's the girl with the red hair scream. Under any other circumstances he would have beem out of the way of her attack in the blink of an eye. But being in here without his powers had slowed him down a little.
He reached up and covered his ears which stopped them from bursting but the force of her blast still sent him flying head over heels into the floor. He couldn't even hear himself scream from the pain. The next thing he knows, once the ringing in his ears dull a little is he sees the face of one of the others looking down and speaking to him. "Too...slow. Wha?" he says as he lifts himself up.
Outrun looks around at the gathered crowd and thinks to himself that it's not much of a choice. He knew there was a reason he didn't like the 'Rat'. feeling the surge through his muscles he knew he had his power back but didn't want to display it like that blind guy over there. Did the light just dim a little in here briefly. "What the?" He says under his breath to himself.
Quite a dilemma. He'd have to go long with it, bide his time till he can find a way to get that a-hole's blood out of him. So gross. Outrun puts his head down, facepalms and mumbles to himself. "Shouln't have had that damned brownie."
Outrun: Outrun shakes his head, "Oh boy. Rat is so friendly to the point of being annoying. Anyway, I'll see you in a bit then." And with that the young man known as Outrun heads off to his 'cottage' and has a quick shower before drying off and hydrating before meeting up with Jax in front of his current residence.
Prison: Outrun's time in the 'Gulag' as he calls it hasn't been his cup of tea. To him dressing up the place in comforts and 'cottages' doesn't make it any less of a prison.
His counselling sessions are spent mostly in silence since he feels like telling them anything gives his jailers even more of an edge over him. Usually if anyone does go looking for Outrun, he's in the training centre. To everyone's surprise he excels in the therapeutic art classes. He hasn't made any friends in his time here of late. Not seeing himself as evil he tends to keep to himself, not wanting to associate with criminals. Which does from time to time make him a target for the more sour inmates. Probably the closest thing to a friend is one of the prison guards who he seemed to make a rapport with by the name of Jacky Reynolds, but he just calls her Jax. He believes that even in the Hole he can do some good. He's heard the rumors of the secret areas to the prison and aims to find out what they are and exposing the prison for whatever dodgy work they might be up to. |
