I've got mine, thanks.

If I don't hear back about the questions from this post, I'll assume I can check them all.

Faction Card: Skill ranks

In addition, one of my chronicles has a boon that says:
"You may check off the fist box before this boon in spring, the second in summer, the third in autumn, and the fourth in winter, using real-world seasons."
That allows the casting of a low-level SLA relevant to the opposite season. I intended to check these out of combat, but things got messy enough that I didn't want to derail anything at the time. Checking them all grants a different boon.
So... can I check one or more, and if so which ones? It looks like Onjatan's been in this game since January, so he's been here through all four seasons.

No land grab yet, and I would be open to playing the deeper levels (assuming nothing comes up in the meantime)

Think about what y'all want to do - I think it's unlikely that the Seugathi are going to get the door open with that roll, at least this round, so you all will probably have another turn to do what you want. Bear in mind that 20' of web will provide total cover (and 5' to 15' provides cover) so you will have to position yourselves carefully if you are planning to stay and fight at range.

Question about flaming weapons and webbing...

If you have a flaming weapon (or a kinetic blade made of fire), what kind of action is it to clear webs from a square? Is it one square per attack, spend an action to clear everything around you, or something in between?

I imagine it's one square per attack, but should probably confirm that.

Seeing Shiva's spell press into the door, Onjatan lets go.

"A r a g a . f i r s t .."

He picks up Araga, stows her safely in her pouch, and backs up.

Assuming it's 2 move actions to pick up and stow Araga, which would leave him only a 5' step. If it's just 1 action, he could move 20'. Not sure where Shiva is at this time (last post said she was backing up, but the map hasn't been updated), so haven't moved Onjatan's token yet.

It's a Move action to close the door so if you want to use a Standard action to hold the door shut (Str check, which would be opposed by Red's Str check if it tries to open the door) I'll allow that (you would have to give up removing your goggles though since that's also an action). Just let me know if you want to do that and roll me a Str check so I have it if needed.

You know what, sure. Give everyone a chance to get set back up. I thought the door would do more, but since I've already gone for it... stick with it. Mykel's not going to be able to immediately attack anyway, thanks to the door.

@GM: I'm assuming the effect that Onjatan saved against doesn't trigger the "attack back" state. It's definitely an attack, using the "breaks invisibility" definition, but given the description I don't think Onjatan is really able to tell that Red did a thing at him. If I'm wrong, I can definitely switch to full attacking Red.

Maybe. But it did seem to turn off Onjatan's confusion last time (possibly just through preventing the aura from immediately reapplying it when he saved?)

Onjatan's got several things he wants to do, and not nearly enough actions for all of them.
1) Remove goggles, so he doesn't have a miss chance
2) Pick up Araga
3) Stash Araga in her familiar pouch
4) Close the door
5) Hold the door shut
6) Vigorously apply rock to these guys

But I don't want to pick up Araga without having a spare action to stash her (because "deal damage with object in hand" would be really unfortunate at that point). Don't want to start attacking until the goggles are off, either. I think closing the door is at least worth a try, and probably better value than punching Red once in the face.

Onjatan looks past the nearest monster, into the fog. "G r a n d f a t h e r ?."

A look of fear briefly passes over his face, before he gets control. "N o .. I m p o s s i b l e .."

Faced with a brief moment of clarity, Onjatan pushes his darkened eyewear off and closes the door.

Just realized I forgot to roll concealment vs Shiva, in case her AC was lower than 25

Not sure if closing the door will actually have any effect, or what the turn orders involved are like... but interrupting the auras is worth a shot.

As you've said, the "fight back" clause in confusion will trigger a full attack. The target there has confirmed they're definitely hostile.

My reasoning for "one attack" is that the victim is confused. He's not dominated, he doesn't "know" his target is an enemy. He just isn't sure what's going on, but thinks nearestCreature is a valid target. Probably.

My understanding - based on how it's always been played at the tables I've been at - is that a confused character attacks to the best of their ability (i.e. uses a full attack rather than a single attack, uses their main weapon rather than their fist, etc.) but does not need to use optional abilities that would require them to use some strategy (e.g. lunge) and cannot use abilities that would require some level of concentration (e.g. a confused magus would full attack with their weapon but could not also cast a spell and use spellstrike with it).

Okay. May need a reminder if it comes up in a future game.

Psychic magic requires emotion and thought components. This apparently didn't mess too strongly with Araga's emotions, but... we might still have a question of whether his talents are working or not.

Is this a non-harmless effect with the emotion or fear descriptor?

No creatures nearby on the ground or this wall. Stealth was unhelpful. A trap? Gaze, maybe, or a ghost.

Onjatan pulls out a pair of smoked goggles and snaps them on. He then holds his breath, steps into the room, and looks up to where Araga should be.

Tremorsense didn't go off, so there shouldn't be anyone in the immediate vicinity unless they moved in (barring extremely special cases.) No delay, so either it was an AoE or someone got very lucky to spot Araga in time and won initiative (or were themselves stealthed). The most-likely candidates would be either a gaze-type situation (or a hypnotic pattern, or the like) or a trap. Can't do anything about a trap, but weird mist he might be able to help mitigate. Onjatan, exactly two rounds passed after she burrowed through the wall. I’m not sure where you are getting 6 rounds from? After telling you what you you learned from round 1: unclear jumbled thoughts, I waited a bit to see if anyone wanted to do anything, then processed the stated action: opening the door after 2 rounds. Unfortunately 2 rounds is what it took for Araga to die. Sending your familiar ahead to scout is a high risk high reward strategy; in this case it didn’t work out. After the fight is over I’ll be happy to explain what happened.

GM Only:

From this post. The first post had her take 23-3 "self dmg" over three failed saves, and the second post gave her an additional 32-3 damage plus (specifically) 6 failed saves. That's the right kind of dice for a confusion roll, which would normally be once per round. Unless you're saying she somehow damaged herself for 3d8+12 damage per round? While not showing anything odd on the emotional side of things?

I mean if that's the case, fine, but it seemed both really odd and like it was taking several rounds.

I would hardly call this "send the familiar ahead to scout." From my perspective, we lined up on a corner and asked the rogue to poke their head around the corner. The rogue climbed up 10' or so, so she wasn't where anyone would be watching for someone coming around the corner, carefully poked her head barely through the wall instead of around the corner... and then rapidly punched herself in the throat three times per round? That's not "normal risks of scouting", that's "author wants you dead right now" levels of pain.

Onjatan starts reaching for the door, then jerks slightly and pauses.

"A r a g a . d i e d .."

He appears to be listening. "M a y . b e . i n s a n e .. C o n f u s e d .. M u d d l e d .."

Two questions:
1) I assume whatever happened to Araga did not depend on her breathing in the fog? Because elementals don't breathe.

Did Araga not pick anything up on Tremorsense before going through?

Onjatan and Araga have the standard master/familiar empathic link. If her emotions started going weird he'd probably open the door before the third round.

Quote:
Empathic Link (Su): The master has an empathic link with his familiar to a 1 mile distance. The master can communicate empathically with the familiar, but cannot see through its eyes. Because of the link's limited nature, only general emotions can be shared. The master has the same connection to an item or place that his familiar does.

And technically, on a nitpicky tangent... according to this FAQ, Araga isn't able to carry anything. Which means "damage to self with item in hand" isn't technically possible. I think it's still reasonable, mind, but just thought it an interesting loophole Paizo wrote themselves into.

Not knowing how long they were going to wait, Onjatan has Yanda intersperse uses of his CLW wand while waiting for the Infernal Healing to complete its task.

2 uses of Infernal healing on Araga, and 3 on Onjatan

Araga CLW:
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

Onjatan CLW:
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Araga is now at full HP, and Onjatan is at 69/70 HP

While waiting, he checks the fire room to make sure nothing is sneaking up from behind, then checks the exit door for traps.

Perception vs enemies in smoke room: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (17) + 18 = 35

Is someone going to use UMD on the wand of Infernal Healing, or do I mark all the healing on the wand of CLW?

Also, if the smoke takes 10 minutes to fade, that means Good Hope has now expired.

Onjatan holds the wands towards Shiva, since Yanda doesn't seem to be taking them.

Would prefer Infernal Healing (cheaper and I've got more charges left), but that takes time and it's not on the alchemist/bard lists. Other than that, I've still got 24 charges of CLW. Araga could use at least +30hp and Onjatan +50hp.

Onjatan's at 12 hp, Araga's at 0, stop moving forwards!

Onjatan will definitely have something to say about this later... probably between floors, when I don't have to type out his slow speech, and we don't have any buffs running.

"W a i t .." Onjatan steps between Yanda and the sarcophagus. he then reaches into his pack and retrieves two wands, helpfully tagged "Cure Light Wounds" and "Infernal Healing".

With the devil down, Onjatan takes advantage the last dregs of Shiva's spell to move in. He draws a dusty-looking katana on the way, swinging it one-handed at the mummy and calling "H e r e !"

Onjatan clears his lungs briefly. The spirits surrounding him tear into the only remaining living foe.

Onjatan's actual actions will depend on whether Green is still up; I suspect he's not. Since Onjatan acts before Shiva, he still has haste up
