Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

As Crow hears the man speak, he makes an executive decision. Be somewhere else.
This seemed like a good idea, so he turned and, he's not ashamed to say, fled like a little girl. the last thing they need is to be caught.

Being careful to remain in shadows and undercover as much as possible, Crow made his way back to the ship, maybe a short trip, didn't quite get everything done as he wanted, but at least he is safe, and with xetsa still out planting the bugs he gave her, maybe not a wasted trip after all.

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

question.
can I totally bail on this check and just piss off? or does that still count as the check?
surely if I just leave the guy to his house and bugger out of the area as quickly as possible, the check kinda doesn't go anywhere...

ruling please GM man

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

Seeing the man talk into quietly, Crow consulted his watch, the bug he dropped in the man's coat may prove useful sooner than expected

I'm holding off on the check thing till I have more info, I reckon it should be free if I'm gonna get anything at all

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

see: 2+6 = 8
remain(1,3)

having noticed his pursuer, Crow directs himself and Xetsa through a series of turns, random at first, but by memorizing the layout of the streets as he goes, he builds a mental map of the area, enabling him to double back in a convoluted fashion, Crow now trailing the mystery man.

acuity: 5d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 2, 2, 3) = 13

Raise: 5+3 = 8

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

Having made a scene and acted drunk to calm the patrons, Crow melts into the crowd and slips out the door to wait for xetsa.
i.e. he doesn't want to have a reeeally long conversation with the guy, in case he gets ID'ed, whiiiich I think is what's happening. ah well

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

good man, it's just what this shindig calls for! what ho.

and yeah sorry bout the spoiler text, lets just assume I'm stealing the ships closet to build a lab, wait that sounds awfully familiar..

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

sorry again, I was away all weekend on business *waggles imaginary tie*

Xetsa:

I would love to help you, I am sure those...items would be useful, and helping is what friends are for! it's even on our way.
I will leave it to xetsa to find her contacts on the way as I don't know where they would be, lets see how this pans out

On the ship:
right you are harv, we have more pressing matters to attend to! We shall continue this conversation later *wink*

In The Bleeding Rock:
Crow quickly passes Xetsa what appears to be a small mantel clock. Go and stick this somewhere it doesn't look too obvious, but not hidden, the best hiding place is usually in plain view after all! Oh, and I might need help in a bit, keep an eye on me in case there's trouble.
Having sent Xetsa to plant the clock, Crow quickly buys a drink and accidentally spills it all on the fed, mainly on the crotch and face. this is too good an opportunity to waste with hesitation!
Acting drunk and rather over-eager, Crow strikes up conversation with the plains-clothes officer.
HA SHORRY FELLA! HIC. crow overacts, getting the attention of the miffed crowd I MUST NOT HAF SHEEN YOU, YOU LOOK BETTER WET ANYWAY THOUGH, COVERS UP YER UGLY FASHE! getting a laugh out of the patrons at the other mans expense, eases the tension in the room.

not letting the fed speak, let alone move and speaking quietly: put away your ID you fool! can't you see you're about to get lynched in here? I have no love of the law, but I don't like seeing a man beaten either, now get out of here and be more careful with who you show your ID too!, I'm sorry about the drink, I seem to have fried your watch as well. I'm a watch salesman, have another one on me, and be more careful in future!

taking off the feds' watch and putting on another of his own while talking gives the fed little chance, and as quickly as he sidled up, crow disappears towards the door.

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

O don't worry about that, Harv! That's the genius of it you see! You wont even notice a thing, but should anyone not acclimatised to our personal atmosphere join us without warning, they choke, or vomit, or get paralysed! anything we like at this point!
(xetsa, paralysis, that's another one!)
give me one hour Harv, and I bet I can not only make you happy with my plans, but you'll even offer your help. what do you say?

I'm going to say I teach Harv about biotoxins and their uses. I don't really want this to be check, but it can be if Harv resists my knowledge! *mad/evil grin*
saying that, I'm not going to force my teaching onto him, Harv, you willing to learn?

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

yes! dice! those are things! I'll grab a d6 to Old Joe, why the hell not

Well In bugging the towns hotspots, it may be that we run into this Ms Blake on our way, and if not, the additional intel will certainly help track her down. On top of that, it may well further our other goals, ok, maybe not the making more allies one, but definitely the learning about the Chinese quarter, and whatnot.

sidling back to xetsa to continue that conversation..

oooh, good idea, some anti theft air supply, could be useful infused in the plants as a quick ingredient as well! I'll start testing local wells for decent candidates! if we can successfully engineer our own pathogens as well we can really start getting creative with side effects!
Crow continues to expostulate wildly and starts making all kinds of notes with xetsa. he is completely gone from the conversation now until someone distracts him with something else, ah the many curses of having a great, albeit warped mind.

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

I think I'm in love with xetsa, we are going to get on sooooo well

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

Crow wanders back to the ship with Harv, awkwardly quiet, after all they had only met a few hours before.

Hey guys! did everyone have fun? overly forced companionship, good start, idiot.

Crow repeats all that Harv managed to say adding that he now has surveillance in the pub, with plans to bug most of the major meeting places of the colony, It's clear half of his compatriots don't believe him, and the other half think he is crazy. At least some of the were right.

Crow wanders really obviously nonchalantly over to Xetsa.
Xets! I'm loving the layout! equidistant to avoid contamination, far from fuel lines, consumables and sleeping quarters. that gives us... 5 test sites, As soon as we can find Old Joe we should be good, Apparently he's been making some sweet money in the mine, which means he clearly has everything we need! heheeeeee

the others try to ignore the blatant flaunting of the law, after all they are in this together, and who knows, it may even prove to be useful.

facing the rest of the crew again, Crow begins explaining his plans
I want to head to as many pubs and squares as I can, Now we have basic information, I need to expand my Intwork, so we can pick up names and places without having to risk human interaction, it also gives us the upper hand with any deals we make, knowledge is power!

Crow will willingly teach anyone who is willing to listen, how the network is going to work, and what he has set up in the pub.
(I am assuming if anything to do with us or the names we are looking for come up within said locations, GM will notify me through anna)
I am also hoping to set this network up as a check rather than have to visit every pub as a scene, unless we stumble upon something important or difficult on the way

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

Finally Crow stops fiddling with the old machine, he turns it on. miraculously it sees to work, and the addition of a large clock to the top of it seems a nice touch.
there, that should keep it going for a little while, and it might just let me know some interesting tidbits if I've linked up that clock correctly.

seemingly to himself, Crow whispers as he works
right, I've got the basic function working, now it should send a live uplink straight to you Anna (the watch) , let me know if you see anything interesting, or anyone comes looking for us here, heheee being a spy is soo much fun!

completey GM discretion if that even works or not, but can't hurt to try

Suddenly straightening, amazingly quickly and fluidly for an old man, he turns back to the bar
Ok then Harv, if we have what we need here, lets make tracks and find the others, then we can go explore the more dodgy areas of this little moon!

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

i will post soon guys, honest, but i currently get in just before i need to sleep, and im in no position to think logically, hang in there

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

A touch from behind brings him back to reality and the demon bird recedes back into the depths of his mind. As Crow takes his seat to hear the barman's story, his hair slowly flattens again.
huh, it seems that the bar must have some loose circuits in it somewhere behind the top. When I lost contact with the ground I must have been subject to some small charge. huh.
As the barman explained the story, the rest of the pub started to buzz again. The commotion had died down and no-one got bottled, fairly boring by their standards.

well Thankyou kind sir, that is most helpful indeed, for showing such kindness, the least I can offer is to fix up that old music player in the corner!
before the barman can reply, Crow is up with the youthfulness of a man half his age, and inside 4 seconds, he is sat cross legged in the remains of the Jukebox, fiddling with the pieces.

As soon as I have repaid my debt, We can be off to the mines, and find old Joe, I wonder what he's found down there...

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

All this chatter, and actually following conversation had made Crow a bit bored, and rather anxious, he was suddenly very aware that his socks were bunching up at the end of his shoes. and his feet had nowhere to go, flashbacks of last Thursday leapt up at him from the annals of his mind, assaulting his fragile composure.

'Oh, for pete's sake man, I can't stand around all day listening to you not talk, either you shut up and tell me what I need to know, Or I sick the ostrich on you!'
rising ungracefully from his stool and making rather a commotion, Crow starts to try and clamber over the bar whilst making peculiar ostrich like noises. Almost like a cobra, as he mounts the bar, his hair fans out and presents an imposing visage for anyone directly in front of him.
adding 2d6 cabin fever crazy, and 2d6 cray cray hair
2d6 ⇒ (2, 5) = 72d6 ⇒ (6, 3) = 9

see:6,3=9 (remain: 2,2,5)
If I read this right, barman has 1,4 remaining, and has to see Harv's 6, which means he has 0 remaining, I intend to finish this with a crazy old man intimidating a bloke with his hair, (anyone seen firefy?)
raise 2,5=7 remain (2)

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

sorry, I think you misunderstood, the guy from kralter I was referencing was not Joe, I meant If I couldn't find joe, I should find my other friend and wreck his bar.
meh , whatever, it's fluff anyway :)

Also, not sure on this one, but doesn't Harv have to see the barman rather than me? which puts him at zero before the raise

(also, sorry harv, I just let him counter the blow, that was dumb of me)

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

Changing the subject quickly Crow changes tack on the hapless barkeep, hounded from both sides now.
'It's a lovely pub you have here you know, the last time I was here, it was with my mate from Kralter,' not so subtly sliding in the name of a notorious prison camp... 'we always said we should come back here and wreck the place for a laugh, I guess If I cant find Joe, maybe I should give him a call...'
ok. It was obviously a bluff, but the guy looked so worn down by the days trade and the assault of questions, it was doubtful subtle threats would have made it through his skull

See 3+6 = 9 (remain: 322)
Raise 3+2 = 5 (remain 2)

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

is it my turn? do I see harv and raise the barman, or see the barman, and raise somebody else, or do I clutch at my drink and rock back and forth tell me what to do! (the last one is probably the most in character)

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

I was away all weekend, sorry! I'm back now, I have tried to set up a conflict, not sure I'f I've got right actually, but I'm sure dave'll tell me if I've screwed the pooch

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

Crow followed Harv' into the bar and sits down at the bar next to him
'I'll have the same' Crow was used to drinking his own brew, anything they had here was bound to be tame in comparison, but he might as well sample it

Raise 5+4=9 (remaining:33262)

'by the by my good man' He quickly spoke, as the barman was about to leave 'you wouldn't happen to know a fella' by the name of Joseph would you? I know he used to come here regular like a few years ago, he was a trader...of sorts'

Crow asks the barman directly hoping if he's quick enough no-one else will have heard the name, he didn't really want to broadcast his intentions that widely.

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

'well I know an old soak in these parts, I'm going to head to the watering hole and see if he is't there, he should be able to supply us with the francium I ...err I mean SUPPLIES that WE need, does anyone want to come?' he asked hopefully, looking around the cabin, trying to make eye contact with any of his fellows.

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

Crow had just finished a very long and complicated conversation with me, Annabel. the sun had started to rise through the small hole he called a window and his energy was fading.

'so that's pretty much it, you were kept in cryo after we landed because you contracted an illness we couldn't be sure you would survive, and then you got stabbed and focefully awakened. I transferred your consiousness into this timepiece as a last ditch attempt to save your 'life'. I don't know how much time you have left, but at least your not dead.

I fell silent, I couldn't really believe it, but what choice did I have? here I was, a bloody WATCH. To be honest, I sulked, but really can you blame me? when was the last time you woke up in a small mechanical device? its not fun. believe me. Crow however, after several hours explaining in as much detail what had happened and my new position in the world, he was ready to pass out, which upon hearing silence, he did.

At around 21:42:54 I heard a number of footsteps coming towards the makeshift lab and circling around, a few faces peeping in at the windows and muttered whispering for a 17.1 seconds. Suddenly everything seemed to slow down as the door got blasted in from the hinges, and statesmen came charging in.

he's killed again, look there on the table!

one of the troopers pointed at my old body. I mean yes technically I was dead, and the old coot was drenched in the remains of my fluids (eww) but that was a bit of a jump to murderer, as far as I could tell, he was a fairly harmless old man, not a serial killer!

as Crow roused himself, I saw them readying their weapons, not a chance that he could escape, after all of this to be taken out by an overzealous statesman, it just didn't seem fair.

as I cringed from the shot surely to follow, and recoiled from the future I was fated for, I heard footsteps outside. I moved my hands, and there was no-one in the room, Crow was unconscious at his desk, and there was a man peeping in at the window.

I don't know how this had happened but I reacted to the situation I was given. I beeped furiously.

Crow get up. in 13.8 seconds, men are going to come through that door and kill us. MOVE.

As Crow launched himself through the 'window' hole and into a landing roll, (which was quite frankly impressive for a man of his age) there was a pause of 3.4 seconds followed by the expected crash from inside.

ok annabel, that was weird, we're going to need to have another conversation later I think, how did you..

He got cut off as he ran into the flank of a large horse.

what the bloody hell do you think you're doing to my horse! cried a rather distraught man from the back of the creature, before either the horse or Crow could react however, a cyborg had scooped him up from the ground and was running in the direction of the spaceport.

ah Doctor! I see you have a similar problem to ours! let me assist you.

As shots continued down the street, our new companions took off again, I noticed at this point, Crow had taken the opportunity of passing out again. It may have been the horse collision, or maybe the rough handling of a semi-attractive cyborg, but either way, he made the right choice, this was no time to be conscious if you have other options.

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

xetsa seemed interested in his conversation as well! he was going to have to get used to this new popularity, it seemed his advice and knowledge were for once sorely needed!
xetsa my dear, it would be my honour to work with someone as talented and clearly driven as you, though I can't condone human testing until we have trialled at least a little bit on animals...equine DNA is fairly close is it not? what sort of effects are you expecting?

harvardr calls him by name, surprising the old coot, not having quite been in the conversation he needs the question repeated, but then is quite eager to share his wealth of knowledge, built up over decades of substance abuse:

Oh yes, Baldur is a mine for many things, rare metals, contraband, and information alike, if we are to find a solution to our eviction, first we must find the crime committed, and have a solution ready to offer should the authorities catch up.
I once knew a man on Baldur, he was not particularly influential, but it may be he can help us, if he is still alive.

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

Old Crow is amazed that their pilot is talking to him, and even remembered his name!
'well miss kim, that sounds like a grand idea, you seem to know what you are about and all, so I'll just let you get on, if everyone is as friendly as you, I shall truly be a rich man.'
crow brushes away a tear as he stops fiddling with controls he has no idea how to use and heads over to the lady in the labcoat, he didn't catch her name, as he was distracted with all kinds of fun technology and the rather lovely pilot but he picked something out of the conversation about not knowing how to do something, and well, you can't let that sort of thing lie can you?
'I think I may be able to help you my dear, You said you didn't know how to poison plants? well its a good thing you've got me here then eh!'
Crow winks in a conspiratory fashion, unaware of the frightened look he is receiving.

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

"hello all, Names Crow Bond, I think I've seen most of you around, but I don't think I've had the pleasure of really conversing!, I remember a few years ago, I met man who actually couldn't speak at all! his name was... hmm I can't quite remember, but the point was, he was a great tennis player, and that's why I don't have any toenails!"

Crow looked around expectantly for the laugh that was deserving of such a good tale, but for some reason, most of the people on the ship had already stopped paying attention to him.

"yes, well anyway... Like I said my name is Crow, and I'm very happy to get this chance to meet you all, I'm not entirely sure why I'm here, but the men with guns seemed to not want me on the surface any-more, so I guess it's one more adventure for Old Crow after all. I'd be happy to do some mapping and plotting if its of any use Kim m'dear, I used to be stationed on a long distance hauler for a time, I'm no pilot, but I know my way around, and we can get to know each other a bit better!"

And with that, Crow plopped himself down in the co-pilots seat and started fiddling with knobs to see what they did.

parry: 5 (remaining - 1,1,2)

In his haste as Crow dashes around with cables, cathodes and saws, he doesn't notice the trickle of steady blood streaming from the nearly deceased woman.

Why isn't it working! I have everything in place, and the circuitry is a perfect match, so why isn't it turning on!

Unfortunately whilst fiddling with the universal timepiece, he had knocked out one of the ruby oscillators, and left the watch on the chest of the patient. As the blood trickled over the open back and into the mechanism, it started to exhibit strange behaviour, possibly from the cryochemicals that had not been safely removed, as per usual awakenings. gradually, it coalesced in the aforementioned hole, crystallising and hardening into a new ruby. The final part.

Raise?(or maybe 'Narrate'): 5,2 (remaining - 1,1)

The body stopped bleeding, all of the blood had solidified in her veins, she would not be waking up that way ever again.
However as the body began to crack, the watch began to rock, the hands twitched, and the face started to blink, with a slow rhythmic ticking, a small voice called out.

"hello? did we get there? what year is it? why is everything dark?"

sounding increasingly scared and considerably louder the voice eventually caught the attention of a scatterbrained Crow. As he sat down slowly, he gently reattached the back clasp, wiped off the remains of the previous host, and readied himself for a very long, hard conversation with a watch.

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

You are quite right, It was late and I wasn't paying attention, lets go with that.

sooo, lets say I use the 6 and 4 from my items to raise, and have 1,2 remaining
that fixes the issues for this round at least.

I was hoping I could use a stat like a trait for some reason, and yeah I'm just not great at remembering the system rules, I'll get there, sorry :-P

so I have remaining 1,2 and body: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 5) = 6 for getting physical, as heart was already used in my non-combat roll.
I think that's all I want to do today, that might even see me through the test :-S

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

erm, wow I was lucky with those rolls, and don't count me out MR GM, there's still time...

I WILL NOT lose any more! screw the consequences, she can hate me later after I've saved her.

He rips open his tool-belt and grabs some of his more serious dremels and minisaws. removing her brain is not the tricky part, integrating the electronic signals and thus personality, into his watch is the tricky part, but try he must anyway! for he is Crow. and this is his duty.

sorry guys, I can't help it, I think I have a problem with character creation, I need an intervention
