Neil: I hope I have avoided any serious injury or scaring

The Stakes: Take massive injury from a hunt gone bad

Neil has been usually good out in the hunt but today every trap he set was spotted by his prey. A large predator known to the local populace as a Trihorn. It is an amphibious creature that has 6 legs and by it's name sake 3 horns on its head similar to that of a Terran triceratops. Its luminous scales are what sells for quite a lot and was the target of Neil's hunt. Thankfully he has pulled the beast away from its water habitat well into the jungle but now he is pinned down as the creature encircles him. He only hopes to make it out of this alive.

Fighting
Neil+alien hunter: 9d6 + 2d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 2, 2, 6, 3, 2, 1, 1) + (1, 2) = 29
Trihorn: 4d6 + 3d10 ⇒ (5, 5, 5, 2) + (10, 5, 2) = 34

The Trihorn leaps from the destroyed trap that Neil set going directly for his position, horns pointed forward.

Raise: 6+5 = 11 Remaining dice: 10, 8, 5, 4, 2, 2

Old Crow: I hope to god it works this time

The Stakes: Save the cryochamber and its patient

The alarm goes off, Crow jolts awake. That's bad, it's one of the cryochambers losing power. He runs into the main hall where the chambers are kept. He sees one of the chambers broken open and it has been ransacked. More thieves, it doesn't matter now as a life is on the line. Crow already lost someone else before he doesn't want to lose another, these people aren't ready to break out of their cryosleep. Not another, he can't lose another.

Non-Physical
Crow+Scientist: 7d6 + 3d10 ⇒ (4, 2, 4, 6, 2, 2, 6) + (1, 6, 7) = 40
Patient's life signs: 6d6 + 3d10 ⇒ (2, 5, 4, 2, 5, 6) + (10, 8, 10) = 52

The patient's skin is growing cold and she got herself cut on the broken glass from the chamber's glass panel. The blood is dripping slowly.

Raise: 7+6 = 13 Remaining dice: 6, 6, 4, 3, 3, 2, 1

Vincent: I hope I can do something to do something cool to impress everyone.

The Stakes: Impress the bar

After a bad hand or two at the gambling table and drink slowly coursing through his body Vincent has one of the greatest ideas. He needs to impress everyone, get people on his side, then maybe a few cards can slip by with no-ones notice.

Non-Physical
Vincent+Cards+Conman: 10d6 + 2d10 ⇒ (4, 4, 3, 6, 4, 3, 5, 3, 5, 5) + (3, 10) = 55
Audience: 6d6 + 3d10 ⇒ (2, 2, 6, 3, 4, 2) + (8, 7, 3) = 37

You start this one as you're trying to impress people.

Havardr: I hope I can finally understand that not all faces are honest, and that not all spoken words are truths.

The Stakes: Sort out a home on Baldur

Getting off the starship Baldur looks out to the small town they have arrived in. He doesn't even remember the name of this place but it is a new journey away from his old life. First he has to sort out his accommodation, he walks up to the town cartographer with his building allotment. First thing the girl does is looks at the chart saying: "Sorry mate, we can only give you half of what this says. Havardr knows that this is barely enough to build a one room hovel with half of that let alone a house, nor any room for his colt Gunnar.

Non-Physical
Havardr+Iron willed: 6d6 + 1d4 ⇒ (3, 1, 5, 6, 1, 2) + (3) = 21
Town Cartographer: 8d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 2, 1, 5, 2, 5, 5) = 29

Raise: 4+5 = 9, Remaining dice: 6, 4, 3, 2, 2, 1

Havardr: Raise 5+5 = 10, remaining dice: 6, 5, 3, 2, 2, 1

To avoid any confusion, your dice pools are as follows:

Neil: 5, 4, 2, 2, 6, 3, 2, 1, 1, 1, 2

Crow: 4, 2, 4, 6, 2, 2, 6, 1, 6, 7

Vincent: 4, 4, 3, 6, 4, 3, 5, 3, 5, 5, 3, 10

Havardr: 3, 1, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3

While some would probably say that alcohol was the catalyst for the chain of events that followed, Vincent knew he was in full control of his faculties as he climbed on the table to declare his intentions to everyone present at the fine establishment he found himself in.

How could he gain the favor of the crowd and especially the still nameless barmaid who as of five minutes ago was Vincent's one true love? Well by sneaking into mayors house and nicking his hat of course.
It was a perfect plan. After all what could possibly go wrong.

He was sure that trap should've held it. He desperately leapt to the side trying to avoid those vicious looking horns. Slamming into the ground and scrabbling to his feet a pain in his side suggested he hadn't got away unscathed.

On balance, Neil decided, this wasn't worth it; he took off into the jungle hoping the creature would catch itself in another snare.

@Neil: Don't forget to post as your alias, you can set it as the default as opposed to your account name. Also I won't do it here as we're still learning a bit, however you have left yourself open to be countered by a 10, which means my next Raise could've been a had that 10 again.

The Trihorn quickly gives chase, Neil usually sees these creatures in snares and hasn't seen one give chase on land before. He wasn't expecting how good a climber they are as he suddenly sees them wrap around trees and the like to chase him down.

He can see that this isn't going as he planned. Priorities being what they are if Gunnar suffered because his master was unable to broker a fair deal for them Harvadr would never be able to forgive himself.

This isn't usually how I like to do things, but I can see I'm butting against a brick wall here.

Listen, I don't think you understand the situation we're in. I'm not asking for much, only enough for me to complete the job that is assigned to me. I'm going to be you're new rancher, you want top notch food I'll need the tools to make it happen

As he starts saying this he slams his hands down onto the table the supplier is currently leaning in on. The table's legs bend under the force, and he brings his face down to match her look and continues to stare her down as he speaks next.

Give me the supplies I need to ensure my horse will not suffer, I can live rough that is not a problem. Do this and maybe I will do exactly as you said and take my supplies and leave.

I'm not entirely sure how we proceed from here, he is using his physical form and strength as an intimidation tool. Escalating the conflict.

Why isn't it working! I have everything in place, and the circuitry is a perfect match, so why isn't it turning on!

Unfortunately whilst fiddling with the universal timepiece, he had knocked out one of the ruby oscillators, and left the watch on the chest of the patient. As the blood trickled over the open back and into the mechanism, it started to exhibit strange behaviour, possibly from the cryochemicals that had not been safely removed, as per usual awakenings. gradually, it coalesced in the aforementioned hole, crystallising and hardening into a new ruby. The final part.

The body stopped bleeding, all of the blood had solidified in her veins, she would not be waking up that way ever again.
However as the body began to crack, the watch began to rock, the hands twitched, and the face started to blink, with a slow rhythmic ticking, a small voice called out.

"hello? did we get there? what year is it? why is everything dark?"

sounding increasingly scared and considerably louder the voice eventually caught the attention of a scatterbrained Crow. As he sat down slowly, he gently reattached the back clasp, wiped off the remains of the previous host, and readied himself for a very long, hard conversation with a watch.

That seems to have gotten the message across, probably some politician causing grief for the locals. It always is, people who feel they are above all others.

I'm glad to see we've reached an accord. As I recall all I asked for was the resources to build a respectful home for my horse and a home for myself. I don't need anything luxurious so I'll take about 90% of what's owed to me. Keep the other 10%, think of it as me investing in the future of this colony.

With that Harvardr signs the relevant documentation for 90% of the resources and leaves. He loads up the supplies into a cart, pulled by Gunnar. Takes his horses reins, deciding to walk rather then ride. He's gonna be under enough strain, the least Harvardr can do is make it a little easier for his partner.

New trait: Physical persuasion (1d6). Harvardr knows he isn't the greatest talker, but he is a domineering form. Where words fail surely actions will prevail.

Vincent peered through a hole in the wall taking in the landscape flying by, the monotone humming of the mag rail soothing the waves of pain attacking his skull. Hiding in a cargo train was not his preferred way of travel but beggars cant be choosers.

Returning to his improvised chair Vincent spun his new hat in his hands, slowly tearing last nights memories from the drunken haze, attempting to reconstruct events that lead him here.

Breaking into mayors house proved easier then Vincent anticipated, especially since nobody was actually in, both the mayor and his bodyguard too busy dragging poor old Dev to prison and thus unable to stop Vincent from triumphantly returning to the bar with his spoils.

Their efforts somewhat pointless since not five minutes latter Vincent put his shiny new holoseal to use and signed Devs pardon. In the next couple of hours the new acting mayor appointed Lord Pawsington as town official ambassador to Terra, made whisky a recognized religion, declared 12th of march "The Banana Day", banned the word "banned" and set up the Ranchers Internal Affairs Committee tasked with rooting out the seeds of treason from towns bovine populace.

Sadly Vincent's rule was cut short by the arrival of the lawkeeper and his deputies. After that just flashes of a mad dash through deserted streets towards the rising sun and the leap of faith from an old water tower.

The now mayor in exile sighed deeply and after tucking a jack of spades, that he produced from his pocket into the side of the hat, returned it to his head. The train was slowing, a sign that they were about to pass through a town. Vincent got up ready to disembark the weight of the holoseal pulling down on his jacket.

One day he would definitely return to his town.

Sorry for a wall of text i still like to pretend that i am a writer from time to time.

P.S. And yes Lord Pawsington is indeed a cat.

Waiting on narration from Neil still but current plot.

The ship blasts off away from Baldur, quickly reaching away from the planet. The pilot just before she took off made sure that she gave the group of enough time to get away by pretending to be an official cargo haul away from the planet. The pilot said some sort of code that was accepted extremely quickly for some reason.

Amongst the crew of escapees on the run from the law are Vincent, Neil, Old Crow and Havardr. There are two others joining them. One that looks to be a cyborg she has metallic plating on her head on much of her arms though a lot of lower body and her hair appear to still be organic. It might be really well done synthetic too the group doesn't have any idea. The cyborg appears to be modeled after Terrans from the far east, though with dyed hair. She suggested the group flee the planet and is the one piloting this small vessel.

The other member is a woman with a relatively dark complexion. She is wearing a lab coat that is covered in mud with a pair of large wellington boots. She also has a PDA that takes up the entire of her right forearm wrapped around it in the form of a vambrace. She has sleek black hair that reaches about to her shoulders and sports a few scars on her face though those are mostly faded.

The group has been accused of high treason. None of them have any idea why or how any of them are related to each other yet. However they all do know that a fate worse than death awaits them without a trial if they are caught by the Federation peacekeepers. They surely keep the peace by snuffing out anything that might remotely be bad. The group does know from the search warrants and talk around Limanaki that the crime was actually commited just not by them. They have somehow been framed or are a scapegoat to the crime but again are unsure as to why they were targeted.

The cyborg engages the hyperdrive, the autopilot turns on then she turns to the group.

She glares at the Destrier taking up most of the corner next to one of the airlock ports. "Was that really necessary to bring that thing on board?!" She asks Havardr.

Glancing over his shoulder, Harvardr is happy that Gunnar isn't too shook up by the sudden upheaval. If they were unhappy now, imagine if he was kicking and fussing about.

My name is Harvardr Eberhardt, local creature whisperer and ranch-hand. Or at least I was local until recently. Call me Harv' for short as I'm sure saying my full name over and over again will become tiresome quickly.

Gunnar and I have been friends for a long time, and unlike people he has never betrayed me or sent me on the run. I couldn't leave him behind to suffer the consequences in the absence of the 'real' criminals. So yes I do think it was necessary to bring him. Plus once we land he'll make travel a lot easier and supply runs a lot simpler. He's cool under pressure and whilst this ship will get us between planets local travel may be an issue.

He looks around to take in his new 'friends' maybe a loose term but for now he could come up with no better.

Where exactly are we headed anyways?

Crow looked around expectantly for the laugh that was deserving of such a good tale, but for some reason, most of the people on the ship had already stopped paying attention to him.

"yes, well anyway... Like I said my name is Crow, and I'm very happy to get this chance to meet you all, I'm not entirely sure why I'm here, but the men with guns seemed to not want me on the surface any-more, so I guess it's one more adventure for Old Crow after all. I'd be happy to do some mapping and plotting if its of any use Kim m'dear, I used to be stationed on a long distance hauler for a time, I'm no pilot, but I know my way around, and we can get to know each other a bit better!"

"I for one haven't done any renegade things but as for the warrant for my arrest it was something to do with poisoning the plants. I have heard no such poisoning nor have any idea how to poison plants other than large amounts of pesticides but that would get anyone caught without much searching. I don't know who who be dumb enough to even attempt that!" Xetsa says in disgust answering Vincent's query.

Kim stares at Old Crow for assuming the co-pilot role, she looks more shocked at the fact he's bringing up random HUD displays without any reason. "Err.. Crow, it's on autopilot for the moment, we're headed to a place called Aether Colony. It's the nearest Colony I could think of and has the least amount of police presence. That might change if they find out we're there obviously but at least it'll give us some respite while we think of our next move."

Those who have been to Aether or know about it through the grapevine know that Aether is a rock and mineral mining colony. Known more for the deals done down in the mines. Either for criminal activity or people trying to make a quick credit by selling whatever they find there or elsewhere as the case may be.

"My suggestion for the moment is trying to get someone to hide us or at least work for someone who will hide us though that might be a little dangerous. Either way it might give us time to buy some info on why any of us are under the law's 'keen' eyes."

Kim once again glares at the horse "We also might er... need modifications.. to the interior of this ship on Aether, so we can house that large quadruped."

"I'm no criminal, unless I've shot a creature I shouldn't, but even then that's usually a fine not a lynch mob. Maybe we got framed?" Neil leaned against the wall he was currently sitting near and stuck his legs out.

"As for Aether. ugghhh I'm not fond of the place, but you're right; we'll probably get some breathing room and can figure out what's going on. how's the ship for space and provisions. and um..." he nervously eyed the horse before looking at Harvardr.

"this thing's not gonna flip out is it?"

Harvardr looks over to Gunnar with a small smile.

I'd say he seems to be coping better then you my friend. No he won't, I have absolute faith in him. Pleased to meet you all.

Looking at everyone in turn,

So we've all been accused of a crime we didn't commit then. I haven't that's for damn sure. My pa brought me up to respect the law. I think Aether suits our needs nicely, though I prefer open fields to claustrophobic mines, beggars can't be choosers.

He stands up and moves towards Gunnar attaching a feed bag to his face whilst brushing down his mane. He was just as shook up as everyone else, but thankfully nothing soothed him more then Gunnar.

Old Crow is amazed that their pilot is talking to him, and even remembered his name!
'well miss kim, that sounds like a grand idea, you seem to know what you are about and all, so I'll just let you get on, if everyone is as friendly as you, I shall truly be a rich man.'
crow brushes away a tear as he stops fiddling with controls he has no idea how to use and heads over to the lady in the labcoat, he didn't catch her name, as he was distracted with all kinds of fun technology and the rather lovely pilot but he picked something out of the conversation about not knowing how to do something, and well, you can't let that sort of thing lie can you?
'I think I may be able to help you my dear, You said you didn't know how to poison plants? well its a good thing you've got me here then eh!'
Crow winks in a conspiratory fashion, unaware of the frightened look he is receiving.

Male Human Acuity(7d6) Heart (3d6) Body (2d6) Will (3d6)

Vincent placed himself in the copilot seat liberated by Crow primarily to prevent his return into said seat as Vincent had some doubts about his ability operate this vessel, it also happened to be on the opposite side of the room to the horse.

Well the criminal element is not the one trying to kill us so I doubt Aether could be worse then where we just came from. Besides I have been there before, lovely place, great people and you should absolutely try those pasty things they make.

Most of us do seem to claim innocence, not quite sure about the older gentlemen here as I have trouble understanding most things he says although if he is the renegade terrorist element trying to bring down the federation I think Terra can sleep peacefully.

Vincent considered something for a moment looking over fellow runaways.

I dont suppose anyone has experience with this sort of thing? Running from the law, clearing ones name of treason charges. I mean if it was petty theft or drunken disturbance I might have been able to do something but high treason is a bit above my pay grade.

Not stopping what he's doing he turns back towards the group.

Nope, can't say that I have. I learnt long ago getting on the wrong side of any official generally ends poorly for those like us. So I kept a low profile and just got on with my job, made life simpler. Crow seems to be a man of experience, maybe he has an idea? Once he has finished telling miss Xetsa how to create poison flowers.

Directing the question to the peculiar old fella, he claimed to be a cryotechnician, but he also had knowledge on how to create poison flowers. He must have a wealth of knowledge surely.

'Thesia got in the way of things, back to normal posting.

Xetsa raises an eyebrow at Crow then smiles. "Oh so you're saying that I should've been with you if I wanted to be a true renegade." She waves him closer "I still got some plants, maybe we can use them in some food and experiment with the reactions to the rest of the crew. Who knows, the results might be fun, if a little messy"

"I don't know how to clear our name but at the very least we should be able to get someone who knows how to find out what the crimes are and possibly work from there. Maybe even find out who levied the crimes against us, maybe it was someone back on Baldur I don't know." Kimiko says, not relishing the thought.

"Also might need to think of ways to make quick money while we are there so we aren't stranded with nothing. I thankfully can be powered by this ship but even that will eventually run out of fuel."

Male Human Acuity(7d6) Heart (3d6) Body (2d6) Will (3d6)

Speaking of which, does this fine vessel have a name?

As for the money, well thankfully we have a horse, we could make a killing in moving cargo, or if we have enough starting capital we could always try gambling. With everything that happened to us today I think we are owed some luck with cards.

xetsa seemed interested in his conversation as well! he was going to have to get used to this new popularity, it seemed his advice and knowledge were for once sorely needed!
xetsa my dear, it would be my honour to work with someone as talented and clearly driven as you, though I can't condone human testing until we have trialled at least a little bit on animals...equine DNA is fairly close is it not? what sort of effects are you expecting?

harvardr calls him by name, surprising the old coot, not having quite been in the conversation he needs the question repeated, but then is quite eager to share his wealth of knowledge, built up over decades of substance abuse:

Oh yes, Baldur is a mine for many things, rare metals, contraband, and information alike, if we are to find a solution to our eviction, first we must find the crime committed, and have a solution ready to offer should the authorities catch up.
I once knew a man on Baldur, he was not particularly influential, but it may be he can help us, if he is still alive.

Neil stood up and moved generally away from the increasingly scary scientists.

So we're agreed on Aether Colony,I've never been as mining planets don't usually have great pickings for people in my line of work. but I'm sure we can manage some kind of work, legal or not.

After nervously glancing towards Xetsa and Crow he turned to Ishikawa as she seemed to know the most about the ship.

So does this ship have quarters or... some other kind of space. I may need to deal with some stuff he earnestly hoped none of the 'bits' in his bag had started leaking or oozing or whatever they did. Unfortunately the growing wet patch on the bottom of a sack he was carrying begged to differ.

"Err... Let me go check, this ship likely has something" Kimiko says replying to Neil as she goes looks at the back. Returning she says. "Yes there is something, seems like the ship was equipped for 8 people. Saying that it isn't in separate rooms, two rooms back there with two bunk beds in each. Probably going to get all cozy especially with 7 of us.. one of us counting as 3-4 no doubt. A store room, toilet, shower...a tabletop for cooking, I think there is a fridge back there somewhere. The basics and nothing but sadly."

Since conversation seems to be dying down a little I'll forward the story a bit. Feel free to talk to NPCs when you feel it's appropriate however.

What I want you guys to do now is reflect on your last moments on Baldur Colony. What was going on when you found out that you were accused of something. What you did to get away, what were your thoughts on the matter, how you met up with the others (The only one you need to include is Kimiko as she got you out but anyone else is cool too, just be sure to refer to other posts before yours to work in what other players have said.)

After brushing down Gunnar and happy with the results Harvardr moves towards the kitchen top and starts rummaging around. Seems fleeing the law drives up a mighty hunger and so he wanted to find something to eat. A lot had happened in the past 24 hours and now he was heading away form all that he knew and loved.

Harvardr spent little time in the colony centre, it was too busy and even though this was a fairly new colony (by comparison to others) beggars and other vagabonds had found their way into the community. Harvardr was a straight shooter, never broke the law and never even contemplated it. He had a respectable business and enjoyed the labour, a hard days work was extremely satisfying.

After selling of the remianing cattle he had brought with him Harvardr mounted Gunnar and returned to his family's ranch. It was a quiet afternoon and the sun was low in the sky, time to brush down Gunnar then think about some grub. As he approached his home he noticed the lawmen outside his house, two of them both armed. He tied Gunnar up and approached them.

Afternoon gentlemen, what brings you out our way?

He inquired honestly, seeing a lawmen was nothing unusual especially out towards the outskirts. Bandits and the like tended to remain close enough to colonies to raid them but far enough away so they were not easily spotted. Harvardr had to drive them off on more then one occasion, well him and his fellow ranch-hands. He was certain they must have set up camp nearby.

Please step inside sir, all will be explained.

Came the short curt reply.

All business, well nothing to be done about it

In he stepped and the two guards followed him in. As he entered the hallway he noticed two more guards standing by the door to his sitting room. Four guards seems a bit much to ask some simple questions about bandits but maybe he had already rounded up a posse. He thought he saw Stew', one of the stable-boys out of the side of his vision but is he did they were quickly ushered away and replaced with the stern face of an enforcer. That made at least five, plus the sheriff is six. Something started to seem off.

As Harvardr grabbed hold of the door handle leading to the sitting room he heard a clash of utensils behind him, Stew' forced his way through the door and shouted at the top of his voice...

Don't enter there Harv, they've come to arrest you!

With that he was beaten with pistol butt and knocked to the ground, Harvardr could hardly believe it.

What's going on? I've not done anything? I'm an honest man, why the hell are they here to arrest me!

Before he had a chance to react the two guards had forced him into the sitting room where he saw the sheriff sitting with his family. Though not related by blood they had seen each other through the rough times at the start when the colony was only just born so they were as good as family as far as Harv' was concerned.

Mr Eberhardt... Piped up the Sheriff, You have been found guilty of high treason and are to pay for your crimes

The Women being held, Lavinia who was slightly older then him and took care of the house, piped up next.
Run Harv', they're after you not us!

The sheriff was brandishing the cuffs, he expected Harv' to come quietly. Harv' had learned that not everything those in power tell you is true so before they could incapacitate him he had already made a break for the window knowing the way behind him was blocked.

He dove head first, protecting what he could with his arms, and rolled out onto the front yard. Gunnar had obviously picked up on the tension as he was already restless, wanting to get away. It didn't take Harv' a second though he immediately dashed for Gunnar and ran. He knew it would only be a matter of time till they chased him down, he relied on nature whereas they relied on science and science tends to be more easily manipulated. As he travelled the road, whislt being pursued he bumped into another also running from a group of lawmen. The women was not entirely human, the machinations whirring in a fury as she ran. She noticed Harv' and moved towards him.

High treason? No reason why? Follow me, I may have an idea about how we can get out of here.

As she moved off towards the spaceport. He was skeptical, she may be the real criminal, but with the law hot on his heels what choice did he have? So he followed this mysterious stranger towards the spaceport, hoping he had made the right decision.

Sorry about the wall of text, not sure how detailed you wanted this. Also if I can't speak for kimiko then let me know and I'll patch the end of the story to fix it

Male Human Cryotechnician. Acuity(5d6) Body(2d6) Heart(2d6) Will(4d6)

Crow had just finished a very long and complicated conversation with me, Annabel. the sun had started to rise through the small hole he called a window and his energy was fading.

'so that's pretty much it, you were kept in cryo after we landed because you contracted an illness we couldn't be sure you would survive, and then you got stabbed and focefully awakened. I transferred your consiousness into this timepiece as a last ditch attempt to save your 'life'. I don't know how much time you have left, but at least your not dead.

I fell silent, I couldn't really believe it, but what choice did I have? here I was, a bloody WATCH. To be honest, I sulked, but really can you blame me? when was the last time you woke up in a small mechanical device? its not fun. believe me. Crow however, after several hours explaining in as much detail what had happened and my new position in the world, he was ready to pass out, which upon hearing silence, he did.

At around 21:42:54 I heard a number of footsteps coming towards the makeshift lab and circling around, a few faces peeping in at the windows and muttered whispering for a 17.1 seconds. Suddenly everything seemed to slow down as the door got blasted in from the hinges, and statesmen came charging in.

he's killed again, look there on the table!

one of the troopers pointed at my old body. I mean yes technically I was dead, and the old coot was drenched in the remains of my fluids (eww) but that was a bit of a jump to murderer, as far as I could tell, he was a fairly harmless old man, not a serial killer!

as Crow roused himself, I saw them readying their weapons, not a chance that he could escape, after all of this to be taken out by an overzealous statesman, it just didn't seem fair.

as I cringed from the shot surely to follow, and recoiled from the future I was fated for, I heard footsteps outside. I moved my hands, and there was no-one in the room, Crow was unconscious at his desk, and there was a man peeping in at the window.

I don't know how this had happened but I reacted to the situation I was given. I beeped furiously.

Crow get up. in 13.8 seconds, men are going to come through that door and kill us. MOVE.

As Crow launched himself through the 'window' hole and into a landing roll, (which was quite frankly impressive for a man of his age) there was a pause of 3.4 seconds followed by the expected crash from inside.

ok annabel, that was weird, we're going to need to have another conversation later I think, how did you..

He got cut off as he ran into the flank of a large horse.

what the bloody hell do you think you're doing to my horse! cried a rather distraught man from the back of the creature, before either the horse or Crow could react however, a cyborg had scooped him up from the ground and was running in the direction of the spaceport.

ah Doctor! I see you have a similar problem to ours! let me assist you.

As shots continued down the street, our new companions took off again, I noticed at this point, Crow had taken the opportunity of passing out again. It may have been the horse collision, or maybe the rough handling of a semi-attractive cyborg, but either way, he made the right choice, this was no time to be conscious if you have other options.

Vincent spun around in his chair and stared into the void of space. While if Vincent ever wrote an autobiography today would definitely would fall under "s!*#" category, he couldn't say he was all that surprised.

Sometimes when you get out of bed you just know it is going to be one of those days.

Vincent looked around the hall of the establishment he called home for the last couple of month. While Baldur wasn't the best place he ever lived in, it was decent enough to spend his fortune till poverty forced on the road again, which at this rate would easily be half a year away.

His thoughts were interrupted by the front door swinging open letting in four lawmen.

Dont recognize any of them, must be out of town. Heavy armed, ready for trouble, rifles brand new, not normal lawmen must be from somewhere closer to the core. Best just keep my head down and...

Vincent Tuff

S#$#

By the order of Earth Federation you are under arrest.

Vincent slowly turned around cursing himself for leaving his gun in his room. The four lawmen stood around him with fingers on the triggers.

They look more like feds. Must be a mistake, just dont do anything stupid.

This must be some kind of misunderstanding. What I am being accused of.

Must be a mistake, must be looking for somebody else, but they know my name, maybe clerical error

High treason

What? Cant be! If i just go with them I can clear it all up. Feds don't accuse people of high treason just to let them go. But I haven't done anything. Be sure to mention that to the executioner, maybe he will feel bad about it.

Gentlemen you clearly have the wrong person. How about a little game of chance. Vincent slowly produced a large coin form his pocket, the room grew dead silent. Heads I come with you willingly, tails we all sit down, have a drink and sort this out.

One of the feds was about to say something but Vincent already tossed the coin. For a second as it reached it's zenith all eyes in the room were glued to it, and then instead of coming down it exploded covering everything in thick smoke.

Vincent darted for his room. A shot rang out wood splintering next to his head as he ran up the stairs. He threw open his door and grabbed his belt and backpack while unholstering the Chimera. Behind him heavy boots closing in, in front of him a window.

Bullets or broken bones? Bones heal

He put two rounds through the window and jumped.

He expected many things upon landing. Being nearly trampled by a horse was not one of them.

In front of Vincent was a cyborg girl, a guy who looked like a rancher and a horse with an unconscious old guy slung over it, the conscious humanoids looking like the gates of hell opened behind them. They couldn't possible be...

After what just happened, you owe me big time Lucy

Would you per chance happen to be on the run form the law , because if yes I would be overjoyed to offer my assistance.

Neil sat there whistling, all in all today had gone really quite well. He'd caught three...things they were some kind of fish but the extra legs creeped him out a bit.

Though the best thing, he thought as his knife effortlessly slid through the creature producing another fillet, how easy this part was. No mess no fuss, today. was. great. No sooner had he finished the thought then there was a knock on the door.

great, he sighed. You can come in but I got the bench for the next ..two hours

heavy footsteps preceded the next statement "Mr Dwight you need to come with us"
"ummm for what?
the tone and seeming weight of their boots made his neck hair stand on end. Swiping some blood off the knife to look at the pair. Feds, did he kill something endangered again?

You're under arrest for high treason. Put down the knife and come quietly. Ok no need to panic Neil. you've only killed what could questionably be called animals and that's not high treason. So why do they...OH MY GOD THEY'RE GOING TO KILL YOU. Just put down the knife and maybe... he looked at the 'fish' in his other hand.

Of course officers just let me... he span around and squeezed the fish these things had fired some disgusting gunk he just hoped it was as harmful as it smelt.

In the ensuing disgusting chaos Neil grabbed what he could and bolted out the door. He patted himself as he ran in blind panic Kinfe, gun, camping bag and... sack? He slammed into a wall and tried to focus. Somewhere through his now double vision there was a commotion in town attracting all the nearby feds leaving the...hangar largely unguarded.

Clambering up then falling through the window there was one ship that appeared to be open. He unslung his gun and staggered in slumping by a wall to let his vision clear. After about twenty minutyes of intense panic an old man, one of the local ranchers the guy who always sat at the card table, a cyborg and a g*@&$*n horse.

The ensuing chaos was interrupted by the hangar marshall drawing a gun on them.

Freeze! hand up or I'll.. they were cut off by a hunting rifle shot straight to the hand turning to the arrayed people, unaware if they'd even noticed the officer, Neil managed to say

Can we leave now? I think I may have just shot an officer of the law and then the nausea set in

The group begins to grow used to their lives on the ship though this trip on the galactic road doesn't last long, only two days travel before they reach Aether colony. The planet comes into view as a large gray rock with large man made craters dotted around the surface. The largest crater is the space port for Aether. The ship pulls into dock, some of the group notice that Kimiko didn't need to ask for permission to land, that could be a good or bad thing. No-one is likely going to track you but equally, no-one is going to track your ship if it's stolen.

Kimiko brings the ship in slow as they reach landfall, there are many other vessels strewn across the port. Many of them cargo ships of some kind. In plain daylight though the group can see many deals taking place at the door of the cargo ships for people, items, materials and the like to make it off planet. No cargo ship appears to have a company logo, each one is manned by a different group that is controlling their cargo. It appears as though the groups for the ships are buying goods from the locals, likely to sell them on a different planet.

As opposed to me naming everything on the planet we'll try to do it a little like spellbound kingdoms style, name a place you want to go to set a scene and I'll alter it a little to make sense with what's on the planet. If something is not there or anything like it I'll suggest a different course of action.

When Kimiko finds a clear pad she lands the ship and turns to the group. "Right so here we are, Aether.. great place isn't it?" The smell of sulphur begins to fill the cabin as the doors of the ship open up. "So we need some cash, fuel, any idea why we are being tracked and some place to get to that is safe. First two I think should be easier to come by as info is expensive but I'm sure we can think of something. Anyone got an idea of how we should do this.. all split up and some stay here? Split up into groups of two? All stay together? I think there's merits to all but equally downsides to them."

Feel free to split the party in this game since it's designed to do that, just be careful of getting into brawls with loads of dudes if you are on your own.

I see no reason why we can't start there, you overhear all kinds of talk. Plus it gives Gunnar a chance to stretch his legs. I could do with a drink. If we bump into your friend then all the better.
