So, any idea when we might get going?

Yeah that sounds like her kinda place. Equality is her thing, after all, and having a connection to Avistan makes her feel less like an outsider. She admires Briga greatly for her opposition to discrimination, and thinks she could be an asset for the underground if she could be recruited. (This is naive of her, since Briga's already under a lot of scrutiny, and wouldn't be able to do a lot without drawing unwanted attention, of course.)

Anyway, she's there a lot, and she met her last girlfriend, with whom she broke up a few weeks ago, there.

Can you give us more information about this club? It sounds like it might be the kind of place Nyroba might go to try to make contacts for the underground.

A guard of which city? If Kalabuto, perhaps she and Nyroba were fellow soldiers, possibly friends? If Eleder, maybe Nyroba has met her in the club, when she goes there to meet contacts or gather gossip.

OK. Let's consider backgrounds, perhaps?

Nyroba was a soldier in the Kalabuto city guard as a teen, but her parents managed to get enough money together to send her to school in Andoran. She blew off the courses she was supposed to take, and instead fell in with a society of Milanites working to foment popular revolutions in what they considered to be the oppressed people across Avistan and Garund.

A few years later, she returned in secret to join with the Free Folk Alliance, working in Eleder, where she will not be recognized, to undermine the Chelaxian-ruled colonial government. She believes that Avistanis and Mwangi can coexist, but only in a representative government that gives both equal status.

Recently she has heard rumors that the Free Folk Alliance is cooperating with Walkena, mummy-king of Mzali. This concerns her, as she has lived through a Mzali sack of Kalabuto, and worries that Walkena would see her as a collaborator for Andoren education, her worship of a deity of Avistani origin, and her support of democracy and Avistani/Mwangi coexistence in Sargava.

So we have divine, skilled, bruiser, and... do we have someone else? Or is this a three-person team?

I've updated this character, I don't have all her gear yet but she's pretty close to how I want her. I'll have a background written up soon.

This week has been ridiculous for me, I'm sorry I've been kinda missing. I will be using this character, Nyroba, as my PC, but she'll be completely reworked before the campaign begins.

"Maybe just water?" Nyroba takes a waterskin and splashes a small amount of water on the door.

Nyroba looks at Ausk, and compares his build and equipment with her own, then shrugs, and takes the rope, crossing carefully with its guidance.

How wide is the bridge, what is it made out of, and how sturdy does it look?

"Very well, let's allow Ausk to carry it."

Nyroba heads to the next door and examines it from 10 feet away.

"This blade is magically enhanced, and is particularly effective against aberrant creatures. Who would like to use it? Those of you are trained in sword usage."

Bane against what? A +1 bane (something) then?

Nyroba gives herself the benefit of a Dragon Ward to prevent wild surges, and casts Detect Magic herself. Her first attempt is hampered by her armor, so she adjusts the straps to make it fit easier and casts again. ASF: 1d100 ⇒ 231d100 ⇒ 40

Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

Nyroba looks at the sword curiously.

Marcus, remember a concentration check is needed to cast spells without Nyroba using the Dragon Ward. Or is it a caster level check, GM?

Nyroba kneels down to look at what Suny has found.

"Thank you. Let us pierce the shadows with the light of our Lord!"

"Hitoru, do you still have those sunrods?"

"Let's go," says Nyroba, shouldering the haft of her weapon and following a pace behind Marcus. She ignores the implication in Hitoru's words.

"Lower your bow, Mr. Swiftstrike."

"I'm the only commissioned officer here. I know you are volunteers, not enlisted, but someone has to make a decision, even if it ends up being a mistake. I admit I miscalculated. I didn't think he could get past all of us, and between my hammer, your arrows, and Ms. Suny blocking the door. It's done, now, though."

Nyroba turns to the Priestess Lilian who has hidden back away from combat until now. "Milady, can you favor us with Bahamut's healing grace?"

That'll do it, even with penalties for additional people threatening.

"I am not obligated to explain my decisions, Mr. Ironskin!" Nyroba growls, her fingers elongating into claws as her pupils become vertical slits.

Then, with obvious effort of will, she composes herself, the claws retracting and eyes returning to normal. "You're right, I miscalculated. I thought that an enemy at our backs would be a greater risk than fighting him. If not for his last minute display of agility, we would have had him, as a matter of fact. As it is, he is severely wounded, and knows we are not easy targets."

Nyroba hit him when she was 10 ft away from him. He 5-ft stepped inside her reach and full-attacked. Marcus attacked from 10 ft away as well with a reach weapon. I don't see how, unless he made an acrobatics check that I don't see, that he made it past both our threatened areas without provoking.

Since he was adjacent to Nyroba, and she has a reach weapon, shouldn't she get an AoO too?

The princess should do Initiative too, after all she's with us, and is a healbot from what I understand.

Nyroba shifts her grip on her hammer, moving it from one hand to the other, as she recites the riddle:

"What is greater than the Gods, and fouler than the Abyss? Paupers have it, but the rich need it; the dead eat it always, and living men who eat it die slowly."

"We were told a horrible monster was here, invisible. Do you know anything about that?"

"What were they doing for you?"

"Wait. I have a question for you. Why did you create zombies? Were they building or making something for you? Who and what are you, exactly?"

Can we assume that the princess healed any of us who got hurt?
