The infiltration of our agency seems to know no bounds." His face turns red with anger, as he considers the implications. "Who do you think this MG referenced here is?" Finally reading the notes from Guaril, he answers Enora. "I imagine these letters of our esteemed Varisian where included in the packets that were stolen. They seem to be personal notes to others in Varisia, but don't implicate him directly. I imagine he will want these back." he slips that stack of stained notes into his robe pocket. Nym will also attempt to identify all the magic items found on the shapeshifter. He shows his bleeding wounds to any who will listen complaining loudly.

0: Acid Splash, Daze, Detect Magic, Light 1: Grease, Obscuring Mist, Protection from Evil, Summon Monster 1 2: Create Pit, Summon Monster 2 (x2) Rubbing the knot on his head, Nym slowly comes to after the drops of infernal blood were delievered from Fosco. "By the infernal vaults of Hell, who were those people. They hit hard and fast. What did they want?"

0: Acid Splash, Daze, Detect Magic, Light 1: Grease, Obscuring Mist, Protection from Evil, Summon Monster 1 2: Create Pit, Summon Monster 2 (x2) I may have to withdraw from future games. RL has cut into my gaming time, and with several GMing commitments, I am forced to cut my player time.

0: Acid Splash, Daze, Detect Magic, Light 1: Grease, Obscuring Mist, Protection from Evil, Summon Monster 1 2: Create Pit, Summon Monster 2 (x2) Seeing the last of this plane, the eagle makes a last ditch attack on the evil cleric. The eagle whiffs as it blinks out of existence. Nym swings his quarterstaff with all the strength his meager frame can manage, striking the red-head, but despite his most fearsome swing, doing only little damage. Nym then takes a 5' step, and withdraws his wand of summon monster with his off hand, preparing to use it if necessary in the following round. Eagle Beak: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

0: Acid Splash, Daze, Detect Magic, Light 1: Grease, Obscuring Mist, Protection from Evil, Summon Monster 1 2: Create Pit, Summon Monster 2 (x2) Post is up, guess I should've withdrawn, but took the last opportunity to flank with my eagle. Got at least one, and maybe 3, hits in. Just have to survive her punch, and get the other eagles in play.

Nym swings at the surviving enemy with his quarterstaff as his flying companion moves behind to flank. Nym's quarterstaff flails around clumsily drawing nothing but air, but its effect to distract the evil cleric is a success as the eagle tears into her with beak and talons slashing.
Nym Quarterstaff, flanking: 1d20 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (1) - 1 + 2 = 2 Sweet!
EDIT: Due to Summoner's charm, eagle is around 1 more round...

0: Acid Splash, Daze, Detect Magic, Light 1: Grease, Obscuring Mist, Protection from Evil, Summon Monster 1 2: Create Pit, Summon Monster 2 (x2) My guess is Nym RECEIVES the fatal blow...Forget the CLW Wand, I guess if I can't have picked it up when Deandre was farther away.

0: Acid Splash, Daze, Detect Magic, Light 1: Grease, Obscuring Mist, Protection from Evil, Summon Monster 1 2: Create Pit, Summon Monster 2 (x2) I didn't know there was a wand lying there, or wouldn't have burned my potion using a full round action to do it. If it's there, can I pick that up instead of readying quarterstaff?

0: Acid Splash, Daze, Detect Magic, Light 1: Grease, Obscuring Mist, Protection from Evil, Summon Monster 1 2: Create Pit, Summon Monster 2 (x2) Nice, so now its me and a company of eagles against two bad guys? Color Spray works wonders apparently. Nym looks up from ministering to Sele just in time to see all his allies drop in the color spray emanating from the blond caster. Gesturing for his summoned creature to attack, Nym casts Mage Armor on himself, knowing this is going to hurt. He also prepares his quarterstaff for melee combat in the obscuring fog. Change AC to 16/16/14 Eagle Beak: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
It will be too sad if we TPK in First Steps...

0: Acid Splash, Daze, Detect Magic, Light 1: Grease, Obscuring Mist, Protection from Evil, Summon Monster 1 2: Create Pit, Summon Monster 2 (x2) Not sure if that was my eagle that Halli blasted or not? The X is still there, so I assume its still in play, if not disregard. Nym bends down spending time to pour every drop of the healing potion into the mouth of the fallen paladin. "There's a good lad (lass?)" Nym says, thereby keeping the androgynous running joke alive. In the battlefield, the summoned eagle dives at Larkin, screaming its anger at the poor man before attacking with beak. Eagle Beak: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

0: Acid Splash, Daze, Detect Magic, Light 1: Grease, Obscuring Mist, Protection from Evil, Summon Monster 1 2: Create Pit, Summon Monster 2 (x2) GM Chyro wrote: Sadly grease is not a switch on/off spell, 1 min a/level, happy skating everyone. Also, there's the % rolls for those attacks. But it is! The (D) next to duration means that it can be dismissed at will as a Standard Action. See text from PRD. GREASE
Dismissible spells:
(D) Dismissible: If the duration line ends with “(D),” you can dismiss the spell at will. You must be within range of the spell's effect and must speak words of dismissal, which are usually a modified form of the spell's verbal component. If the spell has no verbal component, you can dismiss the effect with a gesture. Dismissing a spell is a standard action that does not provoke attacks of opportunity. EDITED post above for miss chances, which results in the only likely hit, being a miss...darn it.

0: Acid Splash, Daze, Detect Magic, Light 1: Grease, Obscuring Mist, Protection from Evil, Summon Monster 1 2: Create Pit, Summon Monster 2 (x2) Round 3 Nym sends the eagle after the red-headed caster next. At the same time, he uses his standard action to discontinue the Grease spell, making the ground safer for his allies to close in on the rest of the ambushers. Once one of the others clears the way, Nym will step up to the fallen Sele, getting ready to minister him a potion of CLW on the next round. Eagle Beak: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20% miss, low is bad: 1d100 ⇒ 18 MISS
Eagle duration 2/5 rounds EDITED for MISS CHANCES

0: Acid Splash, Daze, Detect Magic, Light 1: Grease, Obscuring Mist, Protection from Evil, Summon Monster 1 2: Create Pit, Summon Monster 2 (x2) Thanks for the explanations: 1) Didn't read the spoilered text. Perhaps a status of the enemy outside the spoiler (ie, prone) would help. I will try to read them closer, but am just so used to skipping spoilers that don't say my name, that I just over looked it. Didn't know, for example, that the red-head stood back up and cast a spell already. 2. Ok, I don't think anyone was adding to their attack rolls. Like I said, I think there would've been many more hits either way. 3. Makes sense 4. Didn't know that as I've not run summoners before. Good to know.

0: Acid Splash, Daze, Detect Magic, Light 1: Grease, Obscuring Mist, Protection from Evil, Summon Monster 1 2: Create Pit, Summon Monster 2 (x2) I am quite confused about a few things: 1)Did the Grease spell cause the halfling and red-head to fall prone? I don't see any mention of it, or the associated Reflex saves. Like it never happened. 2) If prone, the halfling takes an AC penalty of -4 Also, if the halfling is raging, he already has a -2 penalty to his AC. A cumulative -6 penalty, if prone, means that when Keera's bird rolled 15,16, then one of those was likely a hit, unless they guy has an 22+AC to start with. My version of the PDF says his raging AC is 15. Prone, that is 11. Even Asami's rapier should've been a hit, I think. Just saying, he would've taken several more hits than were counted. If he's not prone, I didn't see the DC 16 Reflex to avoid it. 3) If prone, Ledford;s attacks also take a -4 penalty on to hit rolls, so his 16 to hit the first bird would've been only a 12, and therefore a miss against an eagle. 4) Summon Monster 1 or Summon Nature's Ally are full round cast spells, so as Fosco or Keera cast them, the creature can't attack in the same round (unless they have some ability or effect that I really want). Not trying to rules-laywer the game here, but these effects are why I cast Grease in the first place, trying to level the playing field with our power hitter down. Please advise what I missed.
