![]() Sounds to me that you are a relatively new GM, with relatively new players. There is so much more to a good RPG then combat, and outside of combat the poor barbarian is generally left out of things. A good detective story, that requires a lot of different skills that favor your other players leading up to the final confrontation allows everyone playing to have their characters

![]() You all might want to check with each other and see who lives near whom, and maybe try to start a kids gaming group. I have found over the years that putting youngsters in with adults has mixed results, particularly if the players do not have children of their own. We had a little gaming group with Thom Riccio's daughters and my youngest daughter. It gave us some nice playing time with the kids. They are now "adults" 18-20, live far away from each other and still are best of Facebook friends. ![]()
![]() It might be a good idea to have GM's make notes of potions used, gold spent, and charges used on wands by various players during a module and have them noted on the scenario sheet when given to a player at the end of the module. As once noted a lock does not keep a dishonest person out it just helps keep an honest person honest ;-) ![]()
![]() Right now I can give away anything I like to another PC. That PC can consume or use what ever given, but can not keep an item or gold beyond that module, and if used it must be removed from my inventory. Can I take my healing potion and use it to revive a party member, and have that now recovered party member give me one of his potions to replace the one I used on him? It seems to me that what has happened is a zero sum. In order to save time, and possibly a player character's life I use a potion That I can retrieve as a move action, rather then searching a down player's back pack for that healing potion. A second scenario, I use a healing potion on a PC, and that PC then buys a replacement and gives it to my PC at the end of the module? I am only talking about replacing one potion with EXACTLY same potion, not a substitution of a "like" item, or gold to pay for the item ![]()
![]() Cure light costs 750 gold and is good for D8+1 / charge. Each charge costs 15 GP, the same charge as a potion costs 50 GP, and you do not think that is broken? Fifty magic missals being cast by a brand new arcane cater with the help of a friend is not broken? What do you think would constitute broken? ![]()
![]() That is broken. If i am a ranger and can't cast a spell before the third level what is the possible justification for using a wand? At first and second levels you could be training to cast a particular spell, but hey no matter, just by signing up to be a ranger lets me use a wand. Why not take on level of cleric, one level of magic user and then become a fighter who now can use every wand or scroll in the game? I am playing a sorcerer for the first time, so a couple of third level players, buy up some wands, and since he can use other peoples items during the course of a module, he now becomes a caster only limited by what his cronies can buy and hold for him. This game has been outstanding in avoiding all the the rules that broke all previous "living" games. Why ruin it now with this kind of broken. BS. I mean a wand with 50 charges for someone who can't even cast a spell is insane. ![]()
