What mods you planning on running?

Grand Lodge

I wonder why anyone who has a level 10 character is willing to play a lower tier, when in a short time his character will be level 12 and retired.

Grand Lodge

Well that voyage across the sea was interesting, Fortunately Jeff was the GM and not Kevin, or Thelonius once again would be floating over the ethereal plane. The assassin sneak attack back-stab din minimum damage rather the average or maximum, so I had some hit points left. With his new "white wayfinder" he even has a positive rather then negatives to his Diplomacy Bluff, and intimidate rolls. The poor only ended up with 4 GP when all was said and done.

I don't think it is possible considering the distance, but if anyone picks me up in Fairwood, I would pay your gas expenses, and since we have to eat dinner, that would be on me as well. I just can not drive at night.

Thelonius needs one more module to be level 6

What is with all these fliers that I see all over town?

The Irate Revolutionary Authority asks you:

Are you self employed?

Can you come and go as you please?

Do you own the home that you live in?

Do you own enough arable land to support your family, provide them with the meat eggs, milk, vegetables; they need to live comfortably year round?

Do you live off the labor of others?

Unless you can honestly answer “yes” to the first four questions and “no” to the last you are being exploited by the parasitic gentry who live off the sweat of your labors.

Come Sunday at noon for the rally meet with the exploited workers like yourself, learn that you can indeed throw off the chains of oppression. You can live in a utopia, where there is no master, no slave, here every family is the equal to every other. Never again fear of losing your job, or your home. Or worry on how you will clothe and feed your family. Never bow your head to any man, nor bow and curtsey in their presence, because of an accident of birth, and inherited wealth an title.

First off OOC, that player was preventing and purposely screwing with the Osirion faction quest, and preventing those with that faction from completing their assignment in that module, as such I think it was incumbent on the DM to step in. It is funny that this topic comes up now, and with regards to this module. My monk monk posted in character comments to three of our party members whom my monk though acted foolishly. I stress it was MY MONK talking to other PC's and not me talking to the players. I threatened to use "stunning fist" on our cleric if she ran into a deadly situation, ahead of me, and that her position was that of support. Now while it would look like I was threatening another players character with PVP, in fact with the current game mechanics my monk would never be able to do anything of the sort unless he wanted to go into every combat situation holding his action on the off chance the cleric should charge once more into a deadly situation putting her life at risk. I also seriously doubt anyone reading the thread and knew my monk could take such a threat seriously.

As far as withholding healing is concerned I had a wizard jump off a cart rather then cast a spell that might damage his 15 gold piece cart, all the while carrying a 50GP potion given to him by the monk earlier in the module, leaving the monk alone to face a potential attack of three scimitars, and attacks hoofs and bites from their war horses. The monk put himself in that position to protect the wizard so that he could cast his spells with out provoking attacks of opportunity, This monk has taken a vow of poverty, and as such carries no gold from one scenario to the next. He either buys items he feels the party might need or gives the gold to the poor. At the beginning of an adventure he distributes potions, and cure light wands around to party members. he also insists that his items be used first, and that he be treated last, if a choice has to be made of their use. As such i feel no in game or out of game responsibility to give that wizard any of my supplies in advance. In addition that the monk will come to his rescue only if there is no other party member in distress. (You can look at my postings to read the wording). Now the player of the wizard has other characters, and in game the monk will treat those other characters no different from any other party member. the in character comments has to do with characters not players.

As for you Edzirka, I have dedicated my life eschewing all but the basic necessit9es of life, and use my gold for the benefit of those others in need. I abhor greed in any form, and you sir dwarf, are at the pinnacle of self serving, copper pinching, parsimonious, pusillanimous, persons I have ever had the misfortune to be sent on a mission with. I purposely, place myself in a position, where I can simultaneity be attacked by three warhorses, and three bandits swinging scimitars, while I myself was already cut and bleeding, just so none of them could get at you without first receiving a blow from me, all to allow you to cast your spells unimpeded. Yet rather then risk the POSSIBILITY of damaging a 15 GP cart, you decide to jump out of the cart, leaving me alone with what in essence was 6 opponents, all the while holding a 50 GP potion given to you to use at any time of need without compensation of any kind of being asked for or expected, or even accepted. Contentment is after all nothing left to lose. If Iori was to grant me one boon, it would be to never lay eyes on that dwarven form of yours ever again, and should by some mischance I find myself on a pathfinder mission that requires me to spend any time in your presence, or in time of necessary, you will never receive so much as a cup of tea from me. Also understand, if there are six lives in danger of being be lost, and I can only save five, let your acquired wealth be of some final comfort to you. If your worthless hide is going to be lost, and no one else is in danger I will of course always do my bound duty as any other monk of The White Feather.

OOC: We took back Tessa's body to be rezed, posting surety of payment to the temple, when rezed, tessa, reimbursed the temple, which then returned our surety bond.

In Character: Young lady I have never been so shamed in my entire life, you ran past me to your certain death, and I did not stop you. let me assure you the very next time you step in front of me, in combat, or similar situation where you put your life in imminent danger, I will be forced to stop you, even if it means it takes a "stunning blow" to bring you back to your senses. your place in not in front, your place is in providing support and healing when necessary.

...and you spitfire, while i admire your courage, I must question your good sense. You like the cleric have no place in personal up close combat. It was only fortuitous circumstances that allowed us to find you and bring you back to safety. let those who are trained in personal combat do their job, and that is for us to keep adversaries from getting close to casters in the party. That is the life we chose, to put ourselves in harms way in service of others. Should we fall in combat, it is because we made a life choice that came with the distinct possibility of our premature demise.

OOC: Thom and i were kicking ourselves all the way home. Thom noted that we should have spent the camped outside the sphynx, restored all lost spells, and then go inside fully prepared. My only excuse is that i was too tired to think straight, because a number of times in this campaign, i have suggest and attempted the same thing. This time there was no rush, whether we went in immediately, the next day, next week, or next month, it would have not mattered.

I will have another in character comment to make on this subject tomorrow once I confirm one piece of information.

Sumarraniivayla, you will not be young forever, and someday in the future, you will look back on your self indulgence with regret, finding yourself overweight, out of shape, with problems with your digestion, inability, to sleep or find a comfortable way to sit or even lie down. I can not and would not force you to change your ways, merely point out the logical consequences of your current actions.

Greetings Rohan, you seem to be a polite young novice. I presume you are on your own personal quest for self enlightenment. Permit me to open to you the path of the WHITE FEATHER, where when finally mastered you will find pure contentment. This path may seem difficult at first; it was for me, let me assure you. however true happiness can only be found through self knowledge and pure contentment. As you follow the path you will become enlightened, and find that true happiness can only be found if you eschew material possessions, and care not a wit as to your place in society as expressed by the materialistic masses; if you remember and follow the expression "contentment is having nothing left to lose".

Archery should only be studied to allow you to be better a able to focus your mind so that the arrow becomes the expression of your thoughts by its placement in the target you envision. Too often a novice follows the path of the bow for the wrong reason`thinking that its mastery will improve your chances of survival while gaining the accolades of the masses. Such a path can lead you down false paths of ephemeral notoriety, and meaningless physical possessions

I agree with Uldalrich, two hours rest provide THE BENEFIT of 8 hours rest. As was pointed out earlier, should the DM not want to allow the 2 hour replenishment, there are a lot of in game interruptions that can be utilized to prevent such rest. to prevent the

Hey, a new first, played an entire module on my own two feet. Got to use up a mess of cure light charges and all three of my lessor restoration spells. Thelonius appears to be a much more effective PC then I ever envisaged. A new first for me, a non healer healer. Love this new PC concept (almost as much as i like that scribe of Thoms).

I can't find a list of potions available to purchase in game. Does such a list exist?
Uusing the guidelines for converting spells into potions I am presuming I can purchase the following potions at the following prices, am I correct in my assumptions?

Potion of "Sanctuary) (X2) 100 GP
Potion of "Cure light" (X2) 100 GP
Potion "Remove paralysis) 300 GP

Chaucer died in 1400,and is considered the father of English literature, I defy you to read his works as written in OE i.e. "old English". In fact anything before Shakespeare is virtually incompressible. I know that the Brehon Laws had to be reinterpreted on two separate occasions because over time the Irish language evolved to the point where no one could really read and understand it. German and English had a common root, today they are two different languages. osiriani and ancient osiriani would be for all practical purpose two different languages. There would only be a handful of scholars that would be able to read and understand the ancient version.

Had a fun time playing another two rounds on pathfinder, Thelonius spent more time on his back then a two dollar hooker in that last module. It is interesting how random rolls balance out over time. Kevin and I managed to prove the theory working together. Of course I would have preferred he rolled the ones twos, threes, and fours, and I rolled the 17s, 18’s,19’s and 20’s, but I guess you can’t have everything.

Grand Lodge

My gripe is why did it take so long for someone to figure out how to have a "living" campaign with it breaking down to hunts for certs, transfer and gifts between PC', and other abuses that carry over from one game to another; so there isn't the remotest chance in hell that a module being written, without it having a 90% chance of being broken by an item in a players possession. Every character stand on its own here, no free buffing with previous PC's gear, gold or items. Every module writer know what items could possibly be in a game at a certain level, and also knows that there is a finite amount of gold a PC can have at given level, so no fear of a level 1 character outfitted like a level 7, or even the possibility that a PC could acquire a particular item above level. I congratulate the designers on doing a superb job of handling game balance.

Every spell should be in the DM's arsenal. Why not have a adventure where a PC is charmed, just as long as the "charm" does not lead to the death of a PC. It is that kind of thing that makes an adventure different. The only problem I see is if the "charm" is over used, like more then once every three years. ;-)

The above goes for any other adventure that forces a change in a players persona, it is all about testing a players skill in role playing. The target has to be a player that you think is going to handle role playing change as a challenge, as opposed to a chore, or some "dice roller', whose sole interest is "when do I go into combat?"

My first post on a Pathfinder forum:

Just a note to tell you all how much I enjoyed yesterdays sessions, met some great folks, and look forward to playing with them again, and again. I would post some names, but i am sure i would leave someone out unintentionally. The two DM's, Dana and Kevin, were great. certain characters jump out as really fun (but that might have a lot to do with proximity to me at the tables. Gnarsh, Sir Garadoch,Dojohouty, Danduin (whom both Thelonius and Dojo will have a keen eye on in the future ;-] ), Nahoku, rumple, all in no particular order. We survived the second encounter for only two reasons, Kevin, ""fudged" some rules on rolling, and Dojo's using ten charges healing the party at critical times. I wouldn't say without those two factors there would have been a TPK, I am pretty sure at least one "fighter" would have survived to tell the lodge, they needed a new team to find the missing. ROTFL
