Kosz silently regards the guide for several moments before answering. As ever, his voice is slightly tinny with a faint echo coming from the helm'I serve the Grey Lady; she who opens all of the doors in our lives. The Worldwound is a portal she does not control and that makes it one doorway too many. She has been patient out of respect for her ally's successor. Now she takes an active hand. Her faithful are few, but we are all called to this place and time to unmake this abomination.' DM Painlord: Just a reminder of Kosz's appearance: The knight stands in unadorned steel full plate, a long plain grey cloak hangs from his shoulders to just above his heels. His helm is a single piece without visor. Only the narrow slit running horizontally at eye level breaks it's continuity. Affixed to the back of the helm is a smiling mask. He has not been out of his armour in the presence of anyone in the Iomedite camp.

![]() DM WaterSprite: Okay, here comes the insanity. If it appears that the main spar of the pirate ship is close enough to the main spar of our ship, Nimwi is going to vault out of the crow's nest, whip in hand, (leaving his trident behind) and move out to the end of the main spar. Once there he will grab for the opposing ship's main spar with his whip, using the Prehensile Whip trait. That should take up his action for this round. Acrobatics check to run across the spar: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20 Ranged scorpion whip attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 Special: prehensile whip allows for using a whip as a rope with grappling hook. In this case, it has a range of 15' feet, but no range increments. Usually objects with ample places to attach the hook are AC 5. (Which I am sure you already know since you just used three of them) Next round's actions will be: Nimwi swings across on his whip to the other ship. If it looks like he'll end up on the deck, he will pull out his scorpion whip in his other hand. If it looks like it's too high to hit the deck, he'll continue the swing as far up as he can to the opposing main spar/crow's nest where he will try to grab on. Acrobatics to swing across: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 Melee touch attack to grab on if necessary?: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21 Of course!

![]() Would you consider anyone taking a turn in the crow's nest to be armed and/or armoured? DM WaterSprite: As no one on our ship can really see my character, I thought it might be prudent to spoiler my action. Nimwi crouches as the other ship approaches, only his masked head topping the side, so as to gain some concealment and present a smaller target. After the opposing captain makes his pronouncement, Nimwi, keeping his low stance so his arms remain inside the crow's nest, casts lullaby targeting a spot on the opposing ship's deck where he can affect the largest group of people. Medium range; standard action to cast; all living creatures in a 10' radius; Will DC 13 negates; failure causes -5 penalty to Perception checks and -2 penalty to Will saves against sleep effects. A reminder that Nimwi is wearing a full face mask just like the avatar. Always up to you, but I believe it would not be possible to see his lips moving through the mask and he should be far enough away from anyone to remain unheard.

![]() Nimwi looks over both the tridents and the nets. All could notice that his large grotesque mask is not on his face. In its place, there sits a thin half mask of mottled colors that seem to blend into the darkness. It reaches back, covering the entire top half of his head, tied low and to the side of his neck. Hefting the metal trident, he stands quietly, head held slightly back and cocked to the right. His still silence drags out several minutes when he finally bursts out, 'Despite it's poor condition, this trident is of exceptional quality. If there are no objections, I would keep it.' Upon a cursory examination of the nets he points out several small holes, 'I can repair these and teach others how to use them to catch fish, or even men.' He seems not to wait for an answer before taking up the trident and nets, carrying them over to his bunk where he sets them down then climbs into his hammock and goes to sleep. ![]()

Nimwi heard (and remembered) the order to salvage what could be rescued from the ship. Swimming up after the longboat, Nimwi pushes a cask ahead of him. Upon arriving, he waves for a line to be dropped down to secure the small barrel. Should a line be forthcoming, he ties on both waterproof bags before affixing the line to the cask, then waves to signal for it to be brought aboard. Nimwi swifly clambers up any one of the lines trailing from the ship, coming over the rail onto the main deck. Climb: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17 Stepping up to Captain Ragnar, Nimwi delivers his report. 'We were beset by some aquatic humanoid on the way to the wreck. It had claws, a nasty maw and was wielding a trident. It was quickly dispatched and the body fell back into the water before we had time to ascertain it's exact nature.' 'The ship was also attacked by these fishmen. From the signs reefward on the outside of the hull, the attack happened and then the ship hit the reef. Two humans dead in the captain's quarters. Belowdecks, one cabin contained sailors gear, a crate of blankets and another of sailcloth and flags. It was thoroughly ransacked, but no blood or bodies. A cabin on the other side was their larder, foodstuffs, casks of what could be ale and barrels of water, presumably fresh. This cabin was where the breach occured and continued farther below. I was bringing up the first cask of ale when I noticed that the longboat was returning to the ship, presumably because of the worsening weather or a signal from here. I recovered the flags I could and a cask.' He unties the bags from the line and opens them. 'In the captain's cabin we recovered these.' Reaching into his armour, he brings out a sodden purse. Again, assuming no one else had already grabbed them He removes an ornate, possibly ornamental, rapier and a saber from his belt. Nimwi produces: As many of the maps and charts as could be salvaged, rolled up.

![]() Nimwi heaves the first cask of ale from the cabin up to the deck of the wrecked ship. He sees his shipmates rowing the longboat back to their ship. What about our captain's order to salvage what we could from this wreck? He shrugs and returns below decks. DM WaterSprite: He goes back into the first cabin and stuffs as many of the flags as he can into his waterproof bags before sealing them back up. He then enters the second cabin and straps on his swim fins and keeping his waterproof bags secured to his flotation device on his back. Taking another cask of ale (it should have the same mass as the water, so in a sealed wooden container it will be buoyant enough to stay near the surface), he swims out of the hole in the side of the wreck and back to the ship. Swim: 20 Nimwi can always take 10 on swim checks. Swim fins add +10 ft to swim speeds, so it should be 40 ft for a full round. Perception check as he swims back to the ship: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

Cocking his head to the left as he takes in the odd sight, he pauses for a few seconds before seeming to lose all interest and continues on to the stairs down into the ship. Arriving at the two opposing doors, he enters the cabin on the left. Quickly taking stock of the room he searches for anything that of value to the coffers or the mission. Nimwi closes the coin pouch and tucks it inside his armour for safekeeping until they get back to the ship. He takes all of the extant maps he can find and rolls them up. He then places them inside one of his waterproof bags. If no one else takes the weapons, he'll tuck them through his belt. ![]() That trident didn't look special or especially well-made, did it? If so, Nimwi would have immediately dove in after it. Taking 10 on Swim check: 19 (Nimwi can always take 10 on Swim checks) Hanging the fins from the back of his armour, Nimwi joins his shipmates on the wreck. Following the others into the cabin, he is aghast at the scene of carnage. 'I urge caution. Let us take our time investigating what has happened here before moving on to the rest of the ship. We may find that whatever clues can be uncovered here might help us to be better prepared for what else we may discover in the bowels of the ship. One or two of us should keep watch at the door while the others thoroughly search for any clues.'
