"An unpleasant ship situation is better than no ship at all, and a slow starvation on an unknown island." says Nico, as he helps to clean up after the fight. "Nice to meet you folks."

Not to rain on your parade, but I'm like 90% sure that the captain is 15th level.

"Frytz!" Nico breaks out into a wide smile upon sighting the strange halfling again. "I never thought I'd see you again. I'm glad to hear that you're safe. Have you got any idea where we are?"

Reflex Save: 1d20 ⇒ 3

Nico is taken directly in the check with the onslaught of caustic fluids. He yells in pain and is quite relieved to see the creature dead. Holding his burned skin with one arm, he looks around and asks, "Is everyone alright?"

Nico rushes through the brush, seeing a couple of people in a fierce battle with a large, insectile creature. Quickly, he rushes in to aid the people, raising his battleaxe high and bringing it down strongly on the creature's carapace.

Nico hears the sounds of battle and continues to run further into the corn, looking for any sign of the creatures that are making the noise.

"Hello? Is there anyone out there?"

Round one action...dash!

Nico dashes, heedless of danger, through the cornrows and towards the location of the sound. "Hello! Is anyone out there? Does anybody need help?", he bellows, as he runs.

Well, I'm pretty sure that quadruple-move is a thing, so that should get me 120'.

Does it make a difference to get there quickly/can I get there in less than 5 rounds? Because I can ignore difficult terrain with my domain and my speed is faster than normal. If I can't get there that fast, I'll just stop hacking and run.

Forsaking his rapier for a battleaxe, he draws the same and brushes his armor off, shows away his waterskin, and beckons his new associates forward before walking very purposefully towards the cornrows.

Once he gets to the cornrows, he hesitates for a second. Then he cries out, "Hey, what's going on in there?" before he begins to cut down the cornrows in the general direction of the battle-sounds.

Nico pulls a waterskin off of his belt at the mention of water - he really is quite thirsty, and not just for the strong stuff. Seeing that it's caked with sand, he wills a small stream of water to clean off the outside, fills it once, pours it out, and then fills it again.

He takes a long gulp before he holds the thing out, its nozzle dripping with water. "Unless either of you folk have got containers, feel free to take a sip."

It had taken all of Nico's agility and strength to avoid certain death when the ship had wrecked - or so he thought, at least. Nico's memory was more than a little fuzzy at the thought of the wreck. And what was that taste in his mouth? Oh, sand.

Good, he wouldn't drown.

Struggling to his feet, trying to whick the water off of his arms and squeeze his clothes dry, he groans, "Oh, I really need a drink."

Hey, so I think it might be appropriate to post here - Aardvark's posted on the discussion thread of one of my campaigns that he's trying to get people he knows into this game.

This character that I'm posting with is the one that would be added, and I think that Aardvark gave permission to post on this thread.

So, tell me what you think, I suppose? He's a charismatic and Good-aligned adventurer, that's in a trip just for the sake of a trip and is pretty much up for anything.
He fills, to an extent, the lack of martial prowess that you have, especially if I give him Heavy Armor Prof. I believe I'll be taking him along an unusual path with inquisitor/fighter/pathfinder chronicler (if it becomes RP-appropriate to take levels in that prestige class).

Nico nods at Astein's acknowledgement and continues by replying to Lorin. "Of course I am quite willing to go the distance when it comes to taking control, seizing the day, gaining freedom, and all that. The thing is, not every moment is the best moment to do so. We are surrounded by enemies, and the group with whom we just combated Fipps and his flunkies are all in this together. That means we have to work together, Lorin. That means not using demonic energies to sear us and claim that it was you who did all of the work. We had that fight well in-hand. I suggest, if you are to use that power, finding a better way to focus the energies so that you may only hit hostiles with it. Next time you might get somebody killed."
With that, Nico strides away without another word, not interested in an argument. He's more interested in seeing Fipps' fate and standing beside those with whom he fought. Solidarity and all that.

Nico is, of course, referring to the feat 'channel smite', which allows you to use channel through your weapon. Either that or you should use Command Undead a lot :D

"Lorin, pain isn't NECESSARY. You're the one that injured all of us, not LIFE. While I admit a fistfight isn't the best choice for avoiding injury, I heal quickly in a fight. Besides, I'm not exactly a pirate with a heart of gold, either. I did bring a knife to that aforementioned fistfight."

Nico signals the thumbs-up. He wouldn't like the blood of a murder on his hands, honestly.

As he goes up the stairs with the others, however, he grabs Lorin by the shoulder. The skin of his hand is cracked and the flesh is somewhat shriveled, although the remnants of his healing energies had patched him up somewhat.

"The next time you decide to do that, please, PLEASE think. For once, think about other people. I know you think you're hot s@~$, but I'm not going to let you get us killed. Understand?"

His piece said, he continues up onto the deck of the ship to be assigned his day's work.

Can my Fast Healing remain active long enough to heal the wounds I took?

Nico sees a very quick resolution to what could have been a difficult fight, and quickly secrets his dagger away again. He feels a pleasant drunkenness as divine energy wraps itself around his wounds and his flesh reknits itself together.

"No, Astein, I don't believe anybody was truly badly injured. I'm going to want words with Lorin today, though."

Astein, there is a very specific material component for Infernal Healing. Either unholy water or devil's blood. I'm pretty sure you don't have either of those things.

"I am not quite ready to be keelhauled, so I have to say that this man remains alive. Remember, that Scourge threatened to heelhaul ANYBODY that's caught killing people. Surely we could bring up a grievance of our own, about this man, to Scourge?"

While speaking, Lorin is checking the man's injuries, and will attempt to bandage or stabilize Fipps if he is near death.

Nico follows his fellow prisoners up onto the deck of the ship, and quickly takes stock of the situation.

Looking between the group of prisoners and the people Chumlett brought, apparently to menace them, Nico raises his arms, and speaks slowly and in a conciliatory tone. "Now gentlemen, I'm sure whatever slights you may have felt, and whatever intent you may have against my compatriots here is well-misplaced. This ship is short on crew, yes? And we have to live together while we're at sea, yes? I'm sure we all want the same thing - a well-staffed and functioning ship while at sea, and a comfortable environment in which to work. Am I wrong?"

He clutches his tiny wooden shotglass as he's led over to the barrels of rum, making a quick and silent prayer. Cayden, thank you for showing yourself on this ship. I know I can get through anywhere that rings so soundly with your presence.

"A drinking game? I'll gladly drink you under the table, if that's what you mean by challenging me." Nico follows up his jab with a quick chuckle to show he was joking.

When indicated, Nico drinks deeply from the rum he's given, pulling the cup away only when it starts to spill down his face.

Seeing the orcish woman engaged in some sort of drinking game, Nico stands back until the game is completed. I'm assuming she wins.

"You're an impressive woman, Grok. I hear you're the quartermaster here. I can see why, you look like you can handle weapons better than most of the men here. M'name's Nico, by the way." Nico extends his hand to be shaken.
