Newt aims his crossbow and fires at the.....moving broom.

"Really?" he asks incredulously.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1

I apologize in advance for not posting recently. I lost my job which has led me to scramble to get things in motion to keep my bills paid. I will be getting a post up tonight to keep things moving.

Once again I apologize. Life throws a curve ball every now and again.

"I'll follow you." Newt says to Mischa.

While Casimir is being tended to, Newt moves just ahead of Bowen to silently keep an eye out.

"I'mgoingtokeepwatchsothingsdon'teatus!"

Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

"The eighth rung have way. Watch out for it."

"I'm fine, but Casimir is hurt and bleeding. If anyone knows anything about healing I suggest they tend to him soon!"

If you are not averse to it, one of these times I would love to hear about what kind of Christmas business you run.

Newt slowly descends the ladder while keeping his senses alert for any trouble.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29

With that, Newt continues stealthily looking about as before.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22

Newt carefully checks for signs of traps, through he is not sure if any are there.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Busy day for me. I'll get a post up in the morning. Did traveling for the employer. I was so tired I forgot about all my games. :-(

Been sick most of the day, bad sinus infection. I am going to try and get some rest. Maybe give an update tomorrow (Sunday) night or Monday. Please bare with me.

Ack! I understand your pain. That is what I took my girlfriend to the clinic for last week. When infections occur she has to get rid of it as soon as possible or it will go to her lungs and become pneumonia. I think it tried to which is why she was sick for so long. She is still sick, though not quite like before.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

Survival: 1d20 ⇒ 13

"Hey, there are tracks leading to a secret door!" Newt says as he makes his way over to it. He points it out to anyone that wants to see it.

Thanks. My mom-in-law was discharged from the hospital into rehab, though she is back in due to pneumonia. Her mental health is deteriorating from an unknown reason as yet. We'll have to ride this out.

Newt stands there patiently waiting for Casmir to open the chest.

Alright, I am back for the moment. I would have posted sooner, but after the hospital situation my girlfriend got sick with a recurring fever. Good thing I took her to the doctor as she had a sinus infection that was spreading to her lungs. Pneumonia is not pleasant, but she managed to avoid it.

I traveled this week for my employer which also contributed to less time for games. Things have settled for the moment, so I will resume posting for now.

Status update: she successfully had angioplasty and a stint put in. They checked for a stroke and found no signs of such. She sleeps for the most part, though she is not recognizing anyone and is not very coherent.

The surgery being a success was most welcome, though there is still more yet to come. We still have to see if her body rejects or accepts said stint, which will come with time. That's about it for now.

My mother-in-law is in the hospital after having suffered a heart attack. I do not know when I will be available to post. I will post updates at varying intervals.

"Because careful, see? No rushing."

Newt stealthily moves his way near to the toadstool. B13.

Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27

"Umm, that one!" Newt says as he points to the one up top.

Moving to B13.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

Continuing his scouting, Newt moves ahead to find out what else is about. he also reloads his crossbow.

Moving to F14.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25

Newt moves away from the beetle to keep out of its jaws.

Eek! Get away!"

Moving to I4.

Newt moves back next to Bowen and Bec. H5.

Once there he will take a shot at the beetle in the middle with his crossbow. H11.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5

"Looks like some giant beetles roaming about. I don't know if they are hostile or not." Newt calls back.

Lord Casimir has not posted since last Wednesday and I have not heard from him, if he does not post by tomorrow I will recruit and replace him unless one of you new players knows of someone that would like to take him over?

Not at the moment. Most of my games I am caught up in, and don't have anyone off the top of my head that I can recommend.

Moving ahead to continue scouting, Newt passes Anya to see what is up there.

Moving to R20.

Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

The smell of the skunk spray is overwhelming and is very distracting to Newt, so he doesn't pay as close attention as he normally does.

As fascinating as the items are, Newt is a little creeped out by all this. He moves over to Mischa.

"Me too! Don't play with the scary stuff just now. Let's go get the ogre."

Moving into the new chamber, Newt grabs the new source of light as he passes it. He then makes his way over to the greatsword to look it over in greater detail.

Appraise: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

And I'm back folks! Sorry for the delay, being under the weather will do that.

"Of course I can! What kind of gnome do you take me for?" he says with a sly grin.

Newt gets out his masterwork tools and gets to work on the lock.

Disable Device: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29

Apologies, but it has been a hectic day. I will get a post up tomorrow morning.

Yes, yes. Welcome aboard!

Seeing the smelly skunky down, Newt rejoins the others. If combat is over, I will move to M14.

"Whew! I thought I was trapped. Thanks everyone."

Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

Newt takes a couple steps and fires again in an attempt to take down the large skunk. 5' step to D16.

Light Crossbow Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2

None over here. Everyone I know is already busy in other games.

I'm here. More posts will be up today.

May I know the results of my attack?

As Bec goes before you in initiative I am waiting on his action. Since post are not required on weekends I was giving him today to catchup. If he has not gone by the end of the day then I will DMPC him so we can move forward.

Thank you. :-)

Deciding to take more direct action, Newt pulls up his crossbow and takes a step over so he can see the large skunk. 5' step to C17.

Light Crossbow Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3

"Smelly skunk needs to go away. Hmm, maybe I can distract it."

Being in a cave, Newt looks about for small rocks he can throw. If he can find some, he throws two of them over to the debris pile and waits to see the animal's reaction.

Throw rock: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19 I figure it's improvised.

Newt sneaks further up away from smelly skunk. Move to D18.

Stealthy sneak: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30

Newt carefully backs away from the creature. He attempts to stealthily make his way to the other side of the cavern. Move to F16.

Stealthy sneak: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16

"No skunky for me!" Newt says to Mischa.

Looking at the strange creature, Newt attempts to identify it.

Knowledge: Nature: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 Please use this roll only if the DC is 10. If not, feel free to ignore it. Lol, not with that roll.

"Umm, I don't know what that is. Anyone else?" Newt asks any others close by.

"Not much. I'm going further in."

Moving over to the debris pile, Newt looks it over to see if anything is of value there.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

If he finds something of value he will quietly call out to the others. If not, he will resume searching silently to the rest of the cavern he is currently in.

Stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

Newt continues to move farther in while looking for anything that catches his eye for importance.

Moving to F16.

Newt continues to stealthily move further into the cave. Moving to the spot just above 1L.

Stealthy sneak: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

As Monday, September 1st is Labor Day (U.S Holiday), I will be generally unavailable until Tuesday the 2nd.

The weekends are normally busy for me, so my posting rate is sporadic if I post anything at all.

Just a heads up.

Newt continues to move until he is at the point where the passage splits in two directions. Move to K3.

Ultimate Sneaky!: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31

Newt is so quiet he completely vanishes from view. Your hand passes through him he is that good! Lol! I jest.

Newt gratefully accepts the lighted stone with a small bow. He then continues his way slowly into the cave.

Moving to C8? Just inside where the low-light currently begins on the C column.

Sneaky sneak: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

"Do you know how much that would stink? Eww, I don't want to think about that!" he says with a look of repulsion on his face.
