Well, I guess we can also intimidate it and threaten it with brute force. Sure!... I guess. Netkin readies an alchemist's fire, just in case.

Thanks for taking over, GM! Netkin is a rather sickly halfling who grew up sheltered from the world. He was born and raised in Breachhill, but rarely wnet out, and spent most of his life in the sole company of his great-grandmother. Grandma Bigpot is more than a hundred years old and very frail, but thankfully her mind remained sharp enough to cut through steel. They have a loving relationship, but Netkin is concerned with her declining health. He just wants enough money to care for Grandma, and also prevent his hometown from being hit by disaster. Additionally, he is rather curious about his family's past - he is almost certain that Breachton was not the saint everyone thought him to be. Netkin is good-hearted, bubbly, friendly, naive - and always at least a little scared. He has struggled with a weird condition all of his life that gives him frequent headaches and chronic anemia. He is very used to having to work around an issue rather than through it. His fragile health and Grandma's old age have taught him to use his head to think of solutions. He has tried to invent a cure for his chronic illness for years without results, and relies on constructs when his body fails him. At least it made him a skilled alchemist/inventor. GM only[: About Netkin's mixed heritage: I had agreed with the previous GM that his Dhampir condition resulted from his grandma having had ties with a cult of Norgorber when she was younger - but came to reject it. Apparently, that cult is part of the AP.
No one in Netkin's family was ever bitten by a vampire - he was born a Dhampir basically due to freak necromancy magic. Giving birth to him did kill his mother, and Grandma raised him partly out of guilt. He is completely unaware of all of the above :D

Recruitment thread here Don't hesitate to jump in if you feel that I forgot to mention important stuff!
Hi everyone! We are a group of five brave adventurers looking for a GM to run the Age of Ashes AP. We use the PF2 system, and are nearing the end of the first book. We are unfortunately been without news of our GM for nearly a month, but we are having a lot of fun as a group. The role-play has been amazing, and we would love to continue this adventure with someone else. We'll of course help our new GM catch up with everything! :)

Netkin follows Ellaeaanda, driving his construct forward so it acts as a shield. He tries his best not to whimper when cobweb stick to the soles of his shoes.

HP: 46 AC: 20 Class DC: 20 All Saves +1
Class Feat: Efficient Alchemy: Thanks to the time you've spent studying and experimenting, you know how to scale your formulas into larger batches that don't require any additional attention. Increase the number of items you can create each day with advanced alchemy to 6 + your Intelligence modifier. In addition, when you Craft alchemical consumables during downtime, you can produce twice as many alchemical items in a single batch without spending additional preparatory time. For instance, if you are creating elixirs of life, you can craft up to eight elixirs in a single batch using downtime, rather than four. This doesn't change the amount of alchemical reagents or other ingredients required to craft each item, nor does it change your rate of progress for days past the base downtime spent. Free Archetype: Basic Breakthrough => Free lvl 1 or 2 Inventor Feat
At 3rd level, and every 2 levels thereafter, increase the healing by 1d10. Special If your innovation is a minion, it can take this action rather than you, though because it's not a living creature, it can't use the ability on itself. Skill Feat: Robust Recovery: You learned folk medicine to help recover from diseases and poison, and using it diligently has made you especially resilient. When you Treat a Disease or a Poison, or someone else uses one of these actions on you, increase the circumstance bonus granted on a success to +4, and if the result of the patient's saving throw is a success, the patient gets a critical success. "Oh no! I don't think it's working," Netkin takes the syringe out very quickly. "And I haven't made any antidotes for today..." He desperately looks for his reagents. Could I use a Versatile Vial to make an Antidote?

Netkin tinkers with his control unit, and the construct strikes twice. Netkin: Control x 1 Construct: Strike x2, on Yellow Fist: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Spike: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Since nothing really seems to hurt the construct, Netkin moves the control unit to his non-dominant hand, and draws his dagger to help Cerrus break free from the webbing. Release, Draw Weapon

As the swarm moves in to attack the party, Netkin quickly realises he won't be able to throw the bomb without taking the risk of directly hitting a party member with it. "Shit," he swears under his breath, quickly putting the vial back into his bag. When he sees Cerrus getting glued to the wall, he grabs his control unit instead, and moves the construct to protect the thaumaturge. Draw x2, Control The construct wheels past Ardoinel to strike the spider. Move, Strike Fist: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

Netkin does his best to calm down through breathing exercises. Thankfully, he can hide behind his construct. "Oh dear... Do you think they can be reasoned with? If not, I could perhaps remove some of the webbing with a fire bomb... The problem would be putting it out before we inhale too much smoke."

"Well, I'm more versed in the arts of alchemy than of masonry, but - actually, I don't think Ardoinel needs any more help," Netkin says, amazed at the aiuvarin's skills. He even gives him a bit of applause. "Well done! Er, shall we, then?" Crafting: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 10 + 1 = 22 In case Ardoinel needs help - though I doubt it x) it sounded like a success!

When faced with the choice of either letting the construct fight the centipedes or confront them himself, Netkin chooses the safest option - for him. He moves the construct to the nearest centipede, and lets the robot pummel it. Meanwhile, he finds a spot where he can crouch. Netkin: Control (2 Actions) + Take Cover
Fist: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
Spike: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10

"I think I'm definitely drawing them here," Netkin's high-pitched voice suddenly rises. He messes with the control unit, and the construct starts backing out. "If you want to jump in and throw spells at them, em, I suggest doing it... quickly!"
M Hafling(-ish) Alchemist (4) HP 46/46, AC 20/ Saves: Fort +10, Ref +10, W +8/ Perception +8/ Initiative +0/ HL: 1/1/ VV: 3/5 / Hero Point 1/3/ IM 0/1/ CONST. HP 42/42 / AC 19
Netkin is willing to go along with Ellaeaanda's plan. He carefully straps a torch to the construct, lights it, then moves the robot near the centipedes. - but not close enough to be within reach. Moved tokens on the map

Sorry, really busy week - but I'm back! Netkin takes great care not to touch the pouch as he walks around it, even asking Ardoinel to carry the construct to make sure it won't accidentally bump or roll into it. He shifts from foot to foot as he waits for Resa to come back, throwing nervous glances at the tixitog above. The more he looked at it, the more it did look uncomfortably like a spider.

"But I am small," Netkin whimpers - his voice noticeably higher. "I could send my construct, I guess... If I'm quite sure it won't attack it... But it can't, um, see things exactly, or at least report them. And it can't grab them. It has no opposable thumbs. We had to make do, you understand." Back from the trip, but I'll leave again to visit a friend between August 5th-8th. No access to maps. But then I'll be back for good! :P
