synthesist is incredibly powerful. pairing it with anything else for gestalt just increases the craziness of it. i like my paladin synthesist i built. pretty much unstoppable.

a player in a game i was part of didnt want to write the "mandatory" 1.5 page back story. so he instead blew up the words AMNESIA and printed them on 1.5 sheets. the dm took the opportunity to come up with his very own back story for the character. needless to say the character was gay and had a tendency to shop uncontrollably. the reason as we found out he had amnesia was that he was trampled at a shoe sale. the player expressed his frustration at his past and refused to roleplay it at all. i just kept telling him "if the dm says your a shopping adict demand the ability to quickly find good deals on magical footwear and go with it" instead he became a self hating homosexual that refused to wear shoes or be part of the party at all.

lets look at classes for what they are. groups of abilities. the flavor text is just that FLAVOR it is not a predetermined play style nor is it a requirement to play the class. if it were a requirement they would put it under REQUIREMENTS.

and Dork i am completely surprised that someone with your history would make a comment claiming an rp class should be limited to a stereo type. i mean how completely unimaginative.

screw it i am a pure neutral assassin that defends the forest by killing those that trespass into the oldest parts where the spirits rest.

i am a lawful good assassin that hunts down heretics and blasphemers for the church.

i am a chaotic evil assassin that kills people for a price.

oh wait sorry only one of these is viable because of some FLAVOR TEXT.

honestly people these books are guidelines. use them as such. until they use cement instead of ink nothing is set in stone.

just audit his sheet. everyone is ignoring the biggest problem. HE CANNOT GO NEGATIVE 50 HP AND LIVE. also once he is negative he will be taking partial actions with penalties. if he is stronger than all of you while negative then you are all built very poorly or he is not built correctly.
i would give this somewhere in the realm of 85% chance he is wrong. either by misunderstanding or cheesing abilities to fit his whims. a level 12 half orc fighter built to fight at negative hm can go to a negative score equal to (con score+(2*level)) even at 18 con that is 18+24 so 42 negative hp. but that is pure fighter with the orc favored class bonus for fighter. your hodge-podge build should not be able to even touch 50 without being paste on the battle field.
every time i see one of these posts the obvious answer is AUDIT THE SHEET. if you cannot do that you will not solve your problem. if your dm will not do that then get used to playing like this. if you guys are min maxers you should have an above average understanding of the game and your characters should stand up to the scrutiny of an audit.

i just have to say something about Emmanuel Nouvellon-Pugh comment. i am so tired of people associating lawful good with a nice guy. there is nothing in lawful nor good that dictates you give a prisoner clothes that kind of stuff just irritates the crap out of me. alignment is not a restriction is a general way of being.
why is it people add extra invisible penalties on paladins constantly.

paladins wouldnt use that paladins wont do that. its rp DEATH. a CHARACTER would do what is in there repetoire. stop generalizing character actions by alignment. its this mentality that just ruins rp.

I didn't bother to read through all the posts. The overwhelming attitude of "its the dms game" sickens me. Let him play by himself if its his game. The game is shared by all players and Dms alike. It is fair for a player to have a say in the rules. if anything it should be left up to the group to decide. if there is a reason the dm does not want a child involved i.e. sexual content or adult material that a player character under the age of 18 would just make him feel weird trying to roleplay with then I would restrict the play of children. if it is purely based on the "adults are this strong you must be weaker" then i will remind you this is a FANTASY game and each character in it is expected to be above average. Extraordinary people have exceptional stats even kids.

I have been a member of the forums for quite some time. I have been working on this guide for a while now and finished a rough draft. It's full of little tips and tricks as well as being chalked full of useful information that most beginning players will not know and some moderately experienced players may overlook. I would hope that any new players take the time and read through it. it is broken down into sections to make "cherry picking" the information you want a bit easier.

It is much harder to increase your ac in this game than to increase your att. There are better ways of making yourself difficult to hit i.e. concealment, blur and so on. But this feat has its place. You can’t just have one required feat lead to all of the combat maneuver feats that would make things too easy to specialize in multiple things. I love tripping and disarming I figure it is much better than sundering so it makes since that I have to take a feat that is not as impressive as power attack to gain access to feats that are (situationally) more useful than sunder.

I will however point out your way of handling yourself online leaves much to be desired. Try approaching it from a different angle. From your first 2 posts I honestly placed you in the age bracket of 12-16. Complaining to mom and dad that you don’t want to eat your dinner to get desert and that it was stupid because desert has nothing to do with dinner. Or even better I don’t want desert so I refuse to eat dinner also. Have your tantrum in Microsoft word. Wait 10 minutes read it out loud and if you come across as a snide jerk hit that old backspace key until you get to a point you feel you can functionally build from.

I’m not trying to be rude and I’m not trolling. I will agree there are several "feat taxes" in this game but as most tax paying adults know we pay taxes so we can have the things we want.

i would love a chance to play a maneuver master monk that ran around the battle field pantsing his opponenets (dirty trick entangel) and when confronted about his antics he could throw dirt in there eye "dirty trick blind) play him partially mentally handicapped and make him into a grappler so he could "hug" people and pet them and call them george.

but my favorite part about all of this would be the ULTIMATE PRANK

with my build you could

trip someone, trip
pants them, dirty trick entangle
scream boo, dirty trick shaken
throw dirt in there eyes, dirty trick blind
take there weapon and throw it 15 feet in some direction, disarm
then procceed to hit them with the feather you keep in your offhand. i.e. tickle attack.

all of this with amazing saves crazy maneuverability, decent ac, and a ton of spell like abilities from quigong.

there is a strict NO PVP rule in society. read cooperate in the guide. specifically points out a situation where a cheliax demon summoner and a silver paladin can be in the same group to further "the pathfinders" goals.
i have mentioned this so many times on so many forums. playing a paladin does not mean you are playing "EVERYONE ELSES PALADIN" you dont have to attack evil on sight. npc or pc. level 4 paladin "oh a balor die you evil s.o.b."

the archetype specifically states you gain the ability to change your base form. it is explained that between levels you are allowed to change your evolutions. there is no place that says you can change your base form.
you are looking for a place that says you can't change it when in fact you should be looking for a spot that says you can.

so far the most popular guide for dragon disciples makes use of the crossblooded archetype. that is not to say that he is correct but since your crossblooded archetype blends two bloodlines into one i have ruled that they stack.

http://paizo.com/forums/dmtz51wq?Oterisks-Guide-to-the-Dragon-Disciple
i would give this a read i have a player in society who is playing a paladin who will be rolling into dragon disciple by way of crossblooded (orc/dragon) sorcerer. i have also referred him to this guide.

ok i started looking and the very first thing i notice is that you need color and some kind of break. i would also suggest an appendix or some kind of guide to let people know what all is covered in the guide. that is my initial response ill read all of it throughout the day. but thanks for taking the time to share whatever knowledge you have aqucired.

myrmidarch magus. being human to get all the feats faster.
since the flurry of blows cant be combined with rapid shot or many shot but a myrmidarchs spell strike works with both its awesome
feats like this
human- point blank shot
1-precise shot
3-rapid shot
5-weapon focus
7-weapon specialization
9-many shot
11-cluster shot

arcanas
3-arcane accuracy
9-familiar (used to get a raven and have him use wands since both your hands are full of bow.)
stats i know they are a bit min maxed but its 20 points and were looking at trying to make a -4 work sometimes for shots.
STR: 8 DEX: 16 CON: 14 INT: 18 WIS: 9 CHA: 8 put the human +2 into int.

so the whole point to this build is u fire your bow backed by your spells for additional damage much like a normal magus works. the thing that really comes into play here is around mid levels you can start using more tools.
so you can imbue your weapon to make up for the lacking bab. thank you arcane pool. you can fire one spell boosted arrow and a normal arrow early on the -2 to attacks will be the same every other archer your elvel will be dealing with when they use rapid shots.
then you add rapid shot to the mix so now you aer looking at 3 shots a round all at -4 if you want to get them all going. the first arrow is boosted with magic the other two are normal arrows fired from your arcane pool enhanced bow. on rounds that you feel the need to use all 3 shots you can offset the negative by using one arcane point to give an insight bonus to your attack roll equal to your int.
the next two feats are just to further compensate for your lacking bab and then the +2 damage will really shine since you are a chain gun now.
bab hits 6 at 8 netting you an additional attack. by level 12 you are firing 5 arrows (and if you have a speed bow 6 arrows)
stat increase go into dex*2 and wis*1
assumed gear for level 12 +4 items of dex and int. and a +4 longbow
your attack bonus would be +24/24/24/24/19(9bab+1 feat+6 dex+4 weapon enhancement+1 magus enhancement+6 int arcana-2 spell strike-2rapid shot+1 haste)also 3 more bonuses to tack onto your shots from magus. lets use those +3 more enhancements to do 1d6 of a chosen elemental, keen, and that elementals burst as well. so now we have our shots as shown have your familiar use wands to cast abundant ammunition and gravity bow
spell strike +24=2d6 bow damage+1d6 elemental+5 enhancement+4d6 scorching ray +2 for feat
many shot+24=2*(2d6 bow damage+1d6 elemental+5 enhancement+4d6 scorching ray+2 for feat)
rapid shot +24=2d6 bow damage+1d6 elemental+5 enhancement+2 feat
primary shot +24=2d6 bow damage+1d6 elemental+5 enhancement+2 feat
secondary shot +19=2d6 bow damage+1d6 elemental+5 enhancement+2 feat

for an amazing total of
12d6 weapon damage
6d6 elemental from enhancement
12d6 from spell (scorching ray)
and 30 from enhancement.
lastly 12 from weapon specialization.
all at the cost of 1 arcane pool point for the +int to hit for one round then the 1 arcane point to enhance his bow that lasts for 1 minute.

furthermore all of this damage when applied to one target you only pay for dr once thanks to clustered shots. if you dont care about precise shot you can just take deadly aim instead for another -3 to attack and +6 to damage per arrow and 36 more damage for a full round.

well i just had to toss the magus's hat in the ring. besides bows i also have a full list of spells. and now with a familiar using wands you get extra actions per round.

really if you want to match logans regeneration at level 10 you are going to be very hardpressed. if i were you i would aim pre-mech upgraded. play him with the bone claws.
the lesser beast totem says you grow claws. it never said they come out of your fingers so boom bone claws. i would have to put forth a full level 10 barbarian though. you will need tons of rounds to keep claws going. and pounce at level 10 would be very nice. if your dm would allow a ring of regeneration youd be set maybe take invunlerable rager. at level 10 youd have dr 5/- my attempt would look like this.

barbarian 10 half orc (for extra rage) with the berserker of society trait
i would also trade orc ferocity for gate crasher for a +2 to sunder checks.
1 power attack
2 lesser beast totem rage power
3 improved sunder
4 superstitious
5 if you can talk your dm into allowing monster feats
improved natural attack claw, or if not extra rage power guarded life.
6 beast totem rage power
7
8 smasher rage power
9
10 greater beast totem rage power
for level 11 id go into oracle to get the rage cycling going a little earlier for the revelation id take one of the sights that does you the most good probably water sight. and for 11th level feat extra rage power and pick up strength surge. for the few spells you get pick a healing spell and obscuring mist (if water sight) this gives you a little ability on top of your flavor you already have.

for gear at level 10 id pick up a +1 furious amulet of mighty fists. its 20k but can be a cornerstone item for you for everything and applies to both claws.

or if your dm is ready for some craziness play a dire wolverine or badger with the awaken spell
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/a/awaken
then start taking class levels that would be much more fun. awakened animals as pcs are fun.

if aging is your problem and you dont really care what you come back as might i suggest a trick i have employed. to allow myself to be reborn without help from others. first thing you do is cast contingency on yourself and use magic device to use a scroll of reincarnate. since reincarnate is a 4th level druid spell you need a 7th level caster making the check for umd a 27. also you must have a 14 wisdom to cast a 4th level druid spell from a scroll. set the contingency to be when you die. so when you die you are instantly reincarnated into a new body. new body new youth enjoy keep your mental stats get new physical ones.
1500 gold pieces for the contingency and 1700 gold for the scroll of reincarnate. but to a level 20 wizard afraid of dying 3200 gold is but a drop in the bucket. the only thing left is to decide if you die from your soul aging or your body aging. then again a wizard could take the 20th level wizard ability and become immortal.

if you all dont mind i will be typing in caps for a few lines

I WOULD BOOT THAT LITTLE S.O.B. TO EVER (I WISH I COULD GO BIGGER CAPS) MAKE ANOTHER PLAYER FEEL BAD IN GAME IS INEXCUSABLE. A GOOD DM WOULD HAVE STOPPED THIS AS IT WAS HAPPENING. PEOPLE BECOME ATTACHED TO THERE CHARACTERS AND YOU PRETTY MUCH JUST LET YOUR DOUCHE BAG PLAYER ROLE PLAY RAPE YOUR RANGER. I WOULD FORCE THE OFFENDING PLAYER TO APOLOGIZE OR INSTANT BOOT HIM.
ok rage over aggravation still here. i have been looking through posts all night and have come across a PLETHORA of horrible players. it is a dms job to reign them in and make sure nothing like that ever happens. from now on that player will on occasion probably say do what i want or ill just tie you up again. if i was the defending player id give you the ultimatum at that moment. and if you didnt make that person leave the building id walk out. and that would go as far as to effect real life relations. its everyone job to have a good job and make sure everyone else has a good time.
cardinal rules of a dm
1-create an interesting world for players to live in
2- make sure game play is fair, balance, and fun for all players.
3- promote synergy in the party so all players feel involved.
4- stop characters from causing problems.
5- interpret game rules and set house rules to make the game move more smoothly and efficiently.

your players trust you to do these things. you have in my opinion failed numbers 2,3,4,5. and without those your campaign doesnt even matter.

So what if you lose control of your character. Just pretend he got knocked out and sit there for a minute like an adult.

Most of the people I game with don't fight mind control, they RP it. If I tell the party wizard he is mind controlled to do x, I tell him with just a few words or a note, and then he plays that. I often have to announce sense motive rolls be made to detect the oddities because my players like rping trouble, failure, problems, and struggle because they get to later play overcoming it and working it out, or they just have fun being the bad guy for a minute.

I HATE playing PF with people that can't just RP and have fun no matter what happens, instead demanding a gm back rub all evening.

another HORRIBLE POST. example

i am playing my rogue i dont want to scout ahead because i think theres a good chance i get wtf pwnd. cleric says eh you scout anyways roll a will save. i fail my character gets taken from me. even if you tell me what you want my character to do u just took away my free will. you better plan on keeping that dominate up for the rest of my life. and the first antimagic field or dispel magic i swear to go any player would kill the shit out of that cleric. its not RP. role playing is fun this is bullying. look at all the posts before yours. if you are the only person saying "yeah that sounds like a good idea" chances are you have nto been bullied in a game before. this whole conversation sounsd like little kids new to gaming saying "why cant i play with all the toys" and all teh adults saying "chill out and play with the one you brought"

my first post got a little long. heres a build for leveling
oracle 1
lame curse, battle revelation weapon mastery bardiche, feat power attack, feat(human) extra revelation (skill at arms).
oracle 2
oracle 3
revelation maneuver mastery trip, feat furious focus
oracle 3/barbarian 1
oracle 3/ barbarian 2
rage power moment of clarity/ feat fury's fall
oracle 3/barbarian 3
oracle 3/ barbarian 4
rage power reckless abandon/ feat extra revelation (war sight)
oracle 3/barbarian 4/ rage prophet 1
oracle 3/barbarian 4/ rage prophet 2
feat extra rage power (strength surge)
oracle 3/barbarian 4/ rage prophet 3
oracle 3/barbarian 4/ rage prophet 4
feat extra revelation (combat healer)
oracle 3/barbarian 4/ rage prophet 5
oracle 3/barbarian 4/ rage prophet 6
feat extra rage power (superstitious)
oracle 3/barbarian 4/ rage prophet 7
oracle 3/barbarian 4/ rage prophet 8
feat extra revelation (surprising charge)
oracle 3/barbarian 4/ rage prophet 9
oracle 3/barbarian 4/ rage prophet 10
feat extra rage
oracle 4/barbarian 4/ rage prophet 10
oracle 5/barbarian 4/ rage prophet 10
feat whatever you like
oracle 5/barbarian 5/ rage prophet 10

you now have a level 20 character. your rage powers and revelations have all turned you into a raging casting tripping destroying monster of a character. you could substitute any of the feats you like but i believe that the character advancement of this toon will be the strongest for you. it grants you access to several nice rage powers all of the battle revelations i like you are a 12th level caster so you get the nice 6th level spells by the end. and improved uncanny dodge.
you could push back access to the rage prophet prc until level 11 but i recommend early access to start the benefit of stacking with both classes earlier on. if your dm allows the classic horror book the fauchard is a devastating weapon with this build and id change the first level to look like this
feat power attack, feat (human) ewp fauchard, revelation weapon mastery (fauchard).
other than that you end up with a bab of 15 and tons of feats and spells to make sure every trip hits. well enjoy hope this helps
