Keep in mind, I know any character can be off the wall or weird in a roleplaying sense. I'm looking for funny, bizarre things you can do mechanically that could actually work in-game without significantly gimping yourself.

I'll start:

Grippli Cleric of Gozreh - Animal Domain & Frog Domain (it's a druid one, but it definitely fits the god).

Animal Companion is a Giant Frog. Character focuses on a few mounted combat feats, but mostly on spellcasting. Most combat is handled by the Animal companion, but if needed the two can combine forces and lay down a decent amount of hurt.

So I heard you like Frogs.

At high enough levels, the unarmed strikes of monks count as adamantine for overcoming hardness.

No other class in the game can so easily pelvic thrust their way through a castle wall.

I have a Deep Earth Sorcerer who doesn't own a weapon and has no direct damage spells, so he is incapable of doing any HP damage to enemies. I've played him 3 times so far, and he's been a useful member of the party all 3 times, and that was at levels 1 and 2. Once he gets a few more spells at higher levels (also non-damaging), he should really become fun to play.

There's also my leprechaun wannabe - a halfling cleric of "Lady Luck" (Desna) who talks with an Irish accent, has the Luck domain, and specializes in buffing his allies to "spread the luck around". I actually haven't played that one yet.

My next character XD

A french maid that winks(Evil Eye), giggles(Cackle), and cries in the middle of combat(Misfortune). She has a black bird(Sing a Song of Sixpence) named Butler(Butler did it!).

PFS, here I come!

Foppish half elven master summoner who rides a unicorn. Have a player in our game who swears this is his next character.

Edit: Corrected spelling. What's an "uncorn?"

It is the unfortunate side effect that PFS is ment to be PG13 or lower, so that mini shows too much Cleavage. I don't want some kid coming in to see that... It'd be awkward...I bought Rasputina from Malifaux and painted it accordingly.

Ahhh good point. There are a few non-pg13 minis on reaper. - Gauss

Hugh Halfner, the halfling broodmaster summoner with his four small bipedal eidolons, modelled after "fantastical creatures" with fantastical attributes...
You could also call him Charlie. Either way, he has his very own adventuring party.

:D best rogue ever! made him last night, can f%%*in wait to play him.

Halfling or Gnome Cavalier riding a boar that always uses bad pig related puns or references (hog wild, pig headed, high on the hog, pig out, hog heaven…).

Thanks Chris Self, I didn't realize there would be a problem. Now I do. Sorry about that. - Gauss

goblin geridime beast rider cavalier (order of the cocatrice) riding a raptor.....

The concept of a gnomish badger lord is something I've been amused by several times but have never gotten around to actually playing.
The gnome feat, groundling, that grants you constant speak with animals (for burrowing creatures) could make for a great deal of fun combined with the ability to summon massed quantities of badgers.

Accidentally stumbled onto this while offering advice, but:

Fey (Wildblooded Sylvan) Bloodline Sorcerer specializing in illusion (and to a lesser degree, Conjuration) spells. Maybe use Vagabond Child for Sleight of Hand as a class skill. Take a Tiger Animal Companion (and Boon Companion).

You are now an illusionist with a pet tiger. If in a home game, grab Leadership at level 7 and have a 'lovely assistant' (probably a Bard). References to Vegas are very appropriate.

Just a fun idea. Also potentially very effective and not even mood-breaking.

Wood oracle, with a Shikigami improved familiar made of wood, that crafts items made of wood thanks to master craftman and human heart of fields bonus along with crafting constructs and siege engines all made of wood, of course...
Bonus points for fighting while in plant form with a shillelagh quarterstaff and with wood armor, sometimes unleashing thorn bursts and being helped by splintering wood golems.

Faux British colonial styled halfling cavalier.... with a kangaroo mount...

Grossly obese Elven Duelist Bard. Very Falstaff from the Thor comics.

Goblin Shaman. Pretty fun/funny already. But traveling with human adventurers it gets even better.

For a super creepy version of this see: Supernatural Season 4: Episode 8, Wishful Thinking where a child wishes her teddy to be real and life sized.

I return to "the trapper."

Human fighter with quick draw, catch off guard and throw anything.

His weapon of choice? The bear trap. He opens combat by throwing a bear trap at the nearest opponent, and in combat smacks people with armed bear traps.

Summoner with Pikachu as his/her Eidolon.

This came up in another thread and I intend to try it next campaign.

Gnome or halfling summoner.

Medium sided bipedal edilon. Made to look like summoner only one size larger. Will use spells if necessary.

Then the edilon will be Me and the sommoner will be Mini-Me.

I once made an elven paladin who rode a gorilla named Carbunkle. I described the beast's dimeanor as that of Jack Nicholson's DNA reconstituted in a gorilla body. He was very gung-ho and would sip watered-down mead out of a flask in secret and whisper "I'm a monster," as he viewed drinking as somewhat sinful. He wound up making a fake moustache out of horse hair and glue and attempted to infiltrate a tavern full of thugs, murders, and various ne'er-do-wells. He barged in yelling "greeting thugs and/or criminals! I, too, am a thug and/or criminal!" His charisma was very high and he rolled several 20s on bluff checks made to convince the patrons of his villainous background, so they welcomed him in and he was able to successfully gain information on the local assassin's guild (or, as he called them, "the Black Spider Ninja Clan"). It ended with him having to lie to a member of the local nobility and he just stood there, sputtering like a fool, unable to tell a lie. Fun was had by all.

i would love a chance to play a maneuver master monk that ran around the battle field pantsing his opponenets (dirty trick entangel) and when confronted about his antics he could throw dirt in there eye "dirty trick blind) play him partially mentally handicapped and make him into a grappler so he could "hug" people and pet them and call them george.

but my favorite part about all of this would be the ULTIMATE PRANK

with my build you could

trip someone, trip
pants them, dirty trick entangle
scream boo, dirty trick shaken
throw dirt in there eyes, dirty trick blind
take there weapon and throw it 15 feet in some direction, disarm
then procceed to hit them with the feather you keep in your offhand. i.e. tickle attack.

all of this with amazing saves crazy maneuverability, decent ac, and a ton of spell like abilities from quigong.

Another one I played was a little elf boy (used Simple Template: Young) wizard (+4 Dex for template along with the bonus from being an elf? You know he was a mother-******). He was very rambuncious and a little obnoxious, (plus he cursed a lot due to being raised by barbarians) but had a gentleness to him. He became party leader pretty darn quick.

I know we're just throwing stuff out there, but I was curious how you get the familiar as an Oracle? I'm not seeing any revelations of the Wood mystery that grant a familiar... how were you planning to make that one happen? I'd probably be really interested in it if you could do it.

Standard method for getting a familiar on a class that does not have it:
Eldritch Heritage (bloodline: arcana). - Gauss

Eldritch Heritage (Arcane Bloodline) probably. Requires Charisma...but it's on an Oracle.

EDIT: Ninja'd by 4 seconds!

Also you can take IEH (arcane bloodline, new arcana) and steal some useful spells like Fabricate and use the Wasting curse to look barky.

Finally, I know you were asking yourself "How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?", so I looked for you one possible answer.

My current character in council of thieves is a blood drinking bard. She has the old acting family background, in her case though some of the relatives are undeadly old thespian vampires. So a natural for dirge bard and the eldritch heritage feat for undead bloodline with the sanguine, blood is the life variant. Fun being a hero of Westcrown then getting your pal to distract onlookers while you chow down on a nearby corpse for a few hp and dinner. I'm expecting undead later in the path (maybe we can be friends?)

Well, the character, Shivkah Magalla, is a core tiefling, with one of the alternate abilities, as instead of the darkness ability, a small size. This character was a hermaphrodite. An alchemist mindchemist with a pension for using surgical tools, prostetic limbs, and stingchucks as weapons. A devout follower of Iomedae, with a peculiar way of worshiping her, which led to later taking up fleshwarping.

Background:
Born in the Darklands of Mwgandi in Doga-Delloth of Orv. 4682yr
Raised as food for Grell in Sekamina as a chooser learned secrets of Grell alchemy 4690yr to 4695yr
Escaped to Bloodcove after Adventurers slay grell, the Beast of Bloodcove, an immense froghemoth,
claims 204 victims over the course of a record hot summer before it is finally slain by a dozen heroes. 4696yr
Found work with Bloodcove militia, under The Grand Admiral of the Fever Sea, Harthwik Barzoni. 4698yr
Found by crusader of Iomedae Valeria Albus, joined church. 4699yr
Moved to Mendev to join the crusades against the worldwound and did work as doctor and mortician in the Cruciform Cathedral Church in Nerosyan: the Diamond of the North. 4699yr to 4706yr
Crusader Valeria Albus dies in demon raid. 4706yr
Moved to Nex to assist with establishing a church. 4708yr

She/He looked something like this.

Kind of like the dead one you just resurrected to beat on from a 5 year old thread?

There's nothing wrong with, ahem, "mature" threads.

My favorite bizarre character fun is to hijack someone from Earth.

If I'm kind, it's a Special Forces trooper with a rifle and a few magazines.

If not, it's the player herself. Welcome to Golarion, Commoner 1! I hope that degree in Sociology pays off for you.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

The Player herself would be an interesting choice. Most of us have a vast knowledge of the world/setting we play in. This includes the cities, people who live in them, magic, monsters but even more - we know their strenghts and weaknesses, their favorite tactics and how to foil them. I think if a player was to be thrown to Golarion and forced to live as an adventurer, I think he'd become a party leader.

Oh and for the record, I think a lot of us are probably Experts more than Commoners, if just because of how RL skill Learning works.

Nice concept Will.Spencer

Oooo fun.

I have an alias Cheshire Silvanshe- Gnome Wild Child Hunter. Literally raised by tigers.

Other off the wall characters. Ears the half elf barbarian. Poor ears no real name to speak of he just remembers ears eing part of many of the horr8d things said to him as a child. He survived and is particularly touchy about being a half-breed. Our party's dwarf often renamed Ears when something memorable happened.

Lazy halfling master summoner. Uses his summon monster SLA to do as little actual work as possible. Considering taking extra Summons (or whatever the name is that gives you more SM SLAs per day) for every single feat.

What's the thing about being a cleric? Flat out druid would get the giant frog immediately as a more powerful companion and all you're really sacrificing from the main focus of the build is a toad familiar and 3+ times per day speak with animals

True, but a lot of our expertise isn’t going to be useful. Anyone like me who works on computers for example.
