Nenthil waits for his turn. "I trust the magic of the scale over my physical abilities so I will be using it to hold me aloof while I use the rope to pull myself across." Nenthil is willing to ferry people across if asked, with a 19th caster level that's 19 mins of duration per cast. More then enough to ferry our group across using the rope.

Levitation as is will not help us sense the spell only works on vertical movement the way I read it. So when I said two people per use of the spell I was thinking one would float and the other would jump on to them so their momentum brought them across. If we had more uses then one person would float then be pushed hard across. Just clarifying it.

Nenthil thinks back to his scale. "The scale I got from the rubble is magical, but it would only let three people pass the chasm. Maybe two at a time if they hung on to each other which would double the number but still fall short of all of us. It's magic would be done for the day as well."

Nenthil removes the cord of rope he had found earlier. "Or we could use the rope we found earlier to swing across perhaps. Maybe look for a way around instead as well." He did not think they needed to address every problem head on, there was also the concern of the heavier members of their group. The rope was not in the best of shape after all. 10 ft. hemp rope remember

He looked at the big man with a coldness that rebelled against his fiery nature. "My one and dearest friend, a innocent child at that, was burned alive by the very crusaders who claim to fight the horde. I have seen equal evil from ignorant men like yourself then from demons and cultist. Do not use your past suffering as an excuse or presume it is greater then another's. Allysen has shown herself to be nothing but a gentle and accepting soul, I care not for anything else." Adjusting the crossbow in his hands, he lets out a deep breath. "We should move on." Don't forget my detect magic with all these post. ;)
Male Aasimar Abjurer 1
While slightly shocked his mind worked faster. Nenthil rarely lost his temper, he saw little point in it really. But he knew what she was and it was clearly understandable why she hid it. "Enough, she is a tiefling. She was born that way just as I was born as I am. Considering your reactions it is clear why she hid her features. Now show some sense and control yourselves." This kind of thing was what started the witch hunts and killed innocent people for nothing.

Going over the information a little. "I rather not go around anything as it could come up from behind us. Should we end up in combat from both sides that would prove deadly. Unless we are sure that we can make the surface, I see nothing that would suggest that, we should try not to leave anything that may stalk us. We will need to rest at some point, moving forward with a threat behind us and the unknown before us is unwise in my eyes."

Well most spells that call for SR are damage based so I was thinking a maximize spell effect or some other enhancing effect to the spell for those that do not deal damage. Like a DC bonus or longer duration maybe. As for the cookies, I want them fresh so teleport them with your mind. @.@
Male Aasimar Abjurer 1
I want spell crits, everyone knows we will have a lot of spell resistance going on in this AP. So if I roll a nat 20 on a SR check I want to see a demon kabob. Another one I was thinking is counterspelling with crits too. If I get a nat 20 on the check it should double any counterspell effect if any. So if I have parry spell which lets me reflect a countered spell instead of reflecting a fireball back at the caster I reflect two, one at the caster and another target. I also demand cookies, chocolate chip cookies. Don't mess with the classics. (^.^) Really I doubt I will get a lot of natural 20's but when they do happen it would be nice to see some fireworks. Unless they happen too often, you never know.

"I have only picked up one. It seems to have the ability to levitate the wielder with a pillar of clouds. May be useful if we encounter a shaft upwards. But it only has the ability to be used three times in a day." Looking at other scales near by. "I am somewhat cautious about picking up more then one scale. It is just a feeling mind you." His lone scale was powerful, without knowing how they came about being empowered he did not want to chance a magical reaction.
Male Aasimar Abjurer 1
Studying the scale he now had in hand. His mind goes over theories and sources as well as the magical aura. Could it be connected to the silver dragon in some way, even if it was a scale from the dragon. It made no sense for it to have magical qualities once shed unless it was a component of a magical item's creation. Even if that were the case it showed no signs of modification of any kind normally seen in magical enchantments placed on items. Spellcraft: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28

Nenthil reloads his crossbow, keeping it ready in hand should anymore surprises be forthcoming. At the man's words, he does not even look over. "I intend to help everyone stay alive to see the surface. But I can promise nothing or claim safety. I am not that confident in my abilities." Taking a moment more to make sure nothing else was coming he starts to look over the silver items he had ignored earlier. Casting a simple spell of magical detection quietly once his back was to the others. Cast Detect Magic

Seeing the nearest one fall with no small amount of relief he reloads and targets another. He was unused to combat of any kind and the closer the creatures got the more his nerves started to get the better of him. He takes a deep breath and exhales before shooting. Crossbow vs Maggot A: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 211d8 ⇒ 4

Nenthil reacts to the sudden emergence of the foul fly spawn by aiming his crossbow. Quickly remembering the positions of all on the field and their conditions he offers his advice. "Elf it would be best if you did not move for now, we have enemies to deal with. Ozgo you may wish to retreat before they swarm you. Reinnwulf and Weyland, you may want to support Ozgo. I recommend you flank the enemy targeting one at a time. The rest of us could support from a distance if we are ill suited to close range." He studies the creatures just as he is firing at one. Knowledge (Nature) vs Maggot: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Edit- I know nothing of maggots with that roll so I leave it to you if I hit or not. xD
Male Aasimar Abjurer 1
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 Nenthil takes the words spoken in stride, such was the darkness of ignorance. Still it was his responsibility to spread the light of understanding, or at least attempt it. "Magic is nether inherently evil or a source of evil. It is those that make use of it in such a manner that are evil. Otherwise I could say that any who wield a blade are evil, for they only cut. Hold those who make the choice accountable not their means." He wonders what caused the reaction in Allysen, she was normally pleasant in his opinion. Sense Motive vs DC 8: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Male Aasimar Abjurer 1
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 He glanced over towards where the threat was, wondering why anything hostile would not have attacked while they were helpless. It all seemed a bit out of place to him. He answers the elf all the same. "I am Nenthil Wardcaller, a bit of a scholar and fair shot with a crossbow. Other then that I would not be much use in a fight." Studying the elf, he thought it best to leave out his very minor magical ability. He relied more on his weapon after all, bolts were in greater supply then his magical energy. Sense Motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22 Taking out his crossbow and loading it in preparation. He notices the elf's effort due to his new condition. He thought it best to leave it alone for now, understanding that it was a way to cope with things.
Male Aasimar Abjurer 1
Nenthil takes a bit of the elf's clothes or any spare cloth to make a simple blindfold, which he cleans with his still active spell. Disguising it's use with the appearance of dusting it off by hand. "Here for yours eyes, best not let anything get in there." He places it in the elf's hands so he can do it himself if he wishes, otherwise he does. While at the other man's words he spares a glance. "We are underground, no one is making it out of here this instant. You are welcome to try alone if it is your sole concern." The man should count himself lucky to be alive much less uninjured. He focuses back on the elf. "Are you hurt in any other way?"
Male Aasimar Abjurer 1
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20 Nenthil does not aid the other men with their labor. He was well aware of his physical weakness and thought it best to stay out of the way. Instead he moved towards the elf to see the extent of his condition and offer any aid he could. At the very least make sure he was in no danger of falling rubble should the earth shift. On his way he spots a bit of silver, that could wait for the moment.

Personally he did not like paladin's, at least none so far, he found them to be single minded and inflexible. Something that all to often was used against them. Still his goddess taught to give all a fair chance, even if his more cynical nature was against it. "You sir may leave if you wish but as this is not a man made tunnel. You may simply find there is no way up, at least not a direct one. Moving about below ground without regard is dangerous to say the least. That being said I see no point in rushing, I do not speak for others but I do not consider myself a vital defender of the city." He takes a moment to study the others as well as himself. While his clothes showed signs of damage from the fall, they and the rest of his person were blatantly clean compared to the others. Something he mentally kicked himself over before he spoke once more. "I think it best to search for more survivors. I would not like to think I left someone who could yet be helped behind." With that he looks around, he did not have the sharpest vision but the darkness did not effect it.
Male Aasimar Abjurer 1
Nenthil had no need of light thanks to his blood but he quickly noticed others that did. Picking himself up and checking his condition he scans the area. By the goddess what disaster had fallen. The Storm King Khorramzadeh had attacked Kenabres again. No doubt their would be great death. He shook his head, focusing on the here and now. It seemed their were at least two survivors besides himself. Taking a moment to whisper a word and make a gesture he dispels the layer of dust on himself before speaking. "I am apparently fine." He steps into the radius of the light.
Male Aasimar Abjurer 1
Nenthil's expression remains neutral during her magical display. "Anyone who judges another for what they are born with, simply lessens themselves and all that they are. Talent and one's nature can only take them so far, without effort their can be no growth of any kind." He lets out a breath as his expression lightens. "In that case I will be making my way back to Old Kenabres to attend the festivities at Clydwell Plaza. If your headed that way I would welcome the company. I am no adventurer yet I may have a few stories of my travels."
Male Aasimar Abjurer 1
"It is a library first and foremost, a museum second. I would think anyone interested in knowledge would give it a visit at least once. I can not say if their will be mages or not but truly I do not see how they would influence anything. Unless the mage in question is the owner, which seems a decent sort if I were to judge." He gives a slight smile. "If nothing else it is a chance to see demonic specimens without fear. Then again it may be ill advised if your not strong of heart or stomach in some cases. So I leave it to you." Personally he found the place fascinating, but he could understand how some feared demons with no desire to understand anything more then the best ways to kill them. Truth be told he had no small amount of hatred for the demonic, but he did not allow that to diminish his love of knowledge or impair his understanding.
Male Aasimar Abjurer 1
He rubs his bare chin for a moment. "Well being a bit of a scholar myself, I can understand that. In fact I was considering a visit to Blackwing, do you know it? Planer lore is my specialty, while I am well versed in a number of religions and lore of the natural world. Outside of that my knowledge is limited. As to the south, it depends where you go. Some places are all sand and sun, while others are wet hot jungles of endless life. Yet that is far south in Garund. You seem to speak just fine by the way." He had deliberately left out any inclination of his magical knowledge or ability. Mages were common targets of everything from mere thieves to corrupting cultist, frankly he lacked the ability to deal with most threats on his own. Such was anonymity his best ally.
Male Aasimar Abjurer 1
He keeps himself from laughing, few were so straight forward with their questions about him. "Well I developed it slowly from around late childhood. Before then I looked like most Kellid's. My skin did change shades slightly sense I went so far south, that may or may not revert. But everything else is just how I am now. Clearly I had a outsider in my family tree, where I do not know. A Peri if I remember right, I couldn't give you details without access to a library specializing in planar lore mind you. I would venture a guess that my changes are not done, but that is just a guess. Anything else your curious about?" His eyes give away a bit of his bemusement.
