So, I have a 4e mage Kai whose campaign fizzled out. He was a religious and high knowledge-skilled evocation wizard that had a habit of slipping into lecturer/teacher mode. It was interesting ad libbing his religious book knowledge, and it would be fun to revisit him. I'd have to rework him for 5e, and change his race... but his concept was fun. Do you still need a wizard?
I have been wanting to try out a high-elf wizard for some time.
I envision the classic well-read wizard (sage background), but I see we have several religious party members, so a devoted wizard (acolyte background) would be a really interesting combination and still fit with the bookworm magic-user...

It was a wild weekend. My kids did great. We didn't have the highest record, but the contest really is about what you learn and how you play. In the end, we finished in the top 30 out of 277 teams... and we were picked to head to the World Championships next weekend: 400 teams, 60 countries... LOTS of robots :)

That makes sense.

I was with Rev... actually I was about to use my Endurance to continue to keep pace with Edie's strange cant. Figured it's my most athletically-styled skill I could bring to the table... Now, when we get to the book reading skill challenge, Kai is going to clean up! -- PS. I wasn't trying to end the encounter, lol. It just sounded like in Grim's earlier post that since the noise and rumbles were gone, the creature might be too... was just checking, not complaining :)
If I'm reading others correctly, it sounds like the Controller spot will be open. I'll look at making a wizard or psion of some sort (I'm a fan of both classes, so it'll be a good fit either way). Either concept should work really well for Erarat - a bookish sort, willing to travel with others to the surface. I like the idea of him trying to preserve knowledge before The Last Age comes to a destructive end. He'll definitely be the type to preserve the artifacts over his own skin, but I also see a slight selfish bent to his adventures (if he's the first one to the surface, he gets first crack at whatever arcane/psionic treasures may be down there!).

Posting for Jareen
Based on past experience, Jareen most likely doesn't bother to hide his casting... lol :) Standard Action: cast Winged Horde on square T9. Area burst 1 within 10. Target: Each enemy in the burst. Attack: +8 vs. Will. Hit: 1d6 psychic damage, and the target cannot take opportunity actions until the end of your next turn.

Hi all. I got to play in a 4e Dark Sun game a while back, but it died out after a month or so... I've been sitting on my Thri-Kreen Barabarian hoping to get to play him again. Anyways. I'd love to join a 4e game and DS is a very interesting campaign setting. If you have need of another striker I'd play Th'Kal (none of this is set in stone if it doesn't fit with the current campaign):
Story Info on Th'Kal:
DESCRIPTION: Unless you are a Thri-kreen or have spent a fair amount of time with one, you wouldn't really be able to tell Th'Kal from any other Kreen. He is a golden-brown, wears several axes about his body, and occasionally wears human clothing (as close as possible, as a way to fit in with his human family that raised him). BACKGROUND:
Th'Kal was born with his racial memories (that's how he knows the Thri'Kreen language), but lately his instincts towards the "clutch" have surfaced. His instinctive desire to find a tight-fit group to call his clutch is what lead him to join the party. Ultimately he still feels alone, but when an assorted group of companions, he feels himself being drawn to them. Perhaps it is just outsiders attracting outsiders, but perhaps it is something deeper, perhaps his racial instincts or some latent psionic power is telling him to bond with these new outsiders... CHARACTERISTICS:
Th'Kal has been "alone" for a long period of time (eternity for a Kreen). He has developed his fighting skills to fit in with the humans and fulfill a needed role (and he's good with an axe!). He may seem defiant at times and other times completely loyal, but you'd need to understand how he sees the pack's leadership... he's just plain odd to most.
If you need any other role in the party, I'm also more than willing to jump in and play anything else (I've played most types in other games at one point or another and can generate a character fairly quickly). Ps. I can generally post frequently. Let me know what you think.
I'd love to get into a DnD 4E game.
(There aren't many 4E players here, but they do exist -- personally, I like Paizo's website better than WotC's... this one seems designed for PbP games, unlike Wizard's)
Is this going to be a particular rules set, like Pathfinder? I'd love to join, but I haven't converted over to PF... I played a ton of 3.0/.5 back in its prime - and I know the rules are close. I'm interested, but don't want to be a the only guy in the group that doesn't know the rules and doesn't have access to them currently.
Sorry to hear about your week. Hopefully a little pbp can cheer you up. Thanks for putting this together. I'm still super excited to be a part of the team. I'll get started reading through your campaign tab. Count me in! (on a quick glance... I'm I bigger fan of the VF fighter rather than the VA bomber -- So, I'll probably be picking the Excalibur)
umm... is there any leeway in changing/altering Hadarai? I don't want this to come out wrong or have me sounding like some know-it-all power gamer (and truly no offense to the original character-creator) but I think Hadarai's stats are pretty far off for a paladin. A paladin's primary score should be Str/Cha followed by Wis. Hadarai has a 13 in two of those (nearly his worst stats) and has only a 16 in his primary. Most 9th level characters will have a 20 in their primary, and some will have a 22, and Secondary scores should be in the 15-19 range (much like the rest of the characters in the party). Little things like choice of gear and powers/feats I get, different people choose different things. I'd have him in plate, with powers that grant an extra marking effect to better hold defense, and I probably would swap a feat or two. But to me those are choices, and mine might be no better than someone else's... But when I was looking over and entering Hadarai's stats into my DDI CB, I really noticed his ability scores being pretty far from the norm. IMO, they're the wrong allocation of points for an effective paladin. Str16 Con14 Dex16 Int12 Wis13 Cha13
Oooh.

Excellent. I saw you had one drop out recently, Rev, I just missed the openning lol. I saw the thread, got excited, and then noticed someone scooped it right away. Ah well. Next one ;) Fabes DM wrote: I have an opening in a game if you don't mind taking over a character. Fabes, generally I'm more of a fan of making my own character, but I guess it really depends on the character I'm taking over. I've played stand-ins before, and it's gone well and then had other experiences that weren't so positive which is the only reason I'm gun-shy... I'm definitely interested in hearing more, though! Is there a link to the game I can read, or the character I'd be taking over?
I'm new to Play-by-Post, but I'm addicted to my current 4E PbP game, and I'm looking to add another. I've been searching the last few weeks, but it seems everyone is running Pathfinder games. While I like that system, I'd really like to stick with 4E. So, if anyone has a slot open or is thinking of starting a new game -- please count me in. I can post pretty frequently and willing to fill any role in a group.
I'd be interested in trying it out. I've played a lot of original AD&D (before 2e), so it would be fun to go back and fulfill some of that nostalgia. I've only done one other PbP (a current 4e game that I really love). I've never played with the SaW rules, but have downloaded them and read through them... and I've never seen the module/series mentioned.
Megan Robertson wrote: I'd like to play a bard, if that's OK with the rest of you (and the DM, of course!). In my old table-top group, we had a 4e Bard -- they are very cool (lots of Multiclassing options, to give you a ton of options in combat). Some nice mixtures of abilities. I'd love to have one in the group, if the DM is for it.
I'm not sure if the open call is still open, but I'd love to be added to the list. I've been playing 43 for a while and know Dark Sun a bit. I've never played a PbP (and this is my first post - yay!), but I've been lurking here at Paizo and reading the PbP threads, and have a pretty good feel for the system. Thanks |
