and upon further review of my character i make the epic derp of realizing without charisma i cant cast spells at 4th level, for some reason my brain said devine = wisdom, one sec while i change that

edit: hmmm or is it realistic to have a headband of CHA by 4th?

According to the Character Wealth By Level chart, you'd have about 6k at 4th level.

It is a first experience. I have seen Paizo has already enabled CORE characters creation, so that's why I decided to start the game.

On your Pathfinder Society page, you can now select 'Create a new CORE character'. You can do it now or at any moment before we start once you have clear your idea. Core characters will appear with a (Core) mark after their name.

I also expect the reporting system will be totally functional for CORE by the time we finish the module.

Do not forget to propose at least one combination of class-race in this post for the character you would like to play! You can add some extra description as for example: elf rogue melee, halfling sorcerer blaster or gnome wizard controller.

Ok great. I've never actually played PFS before. I'll go register if I get approved. I was thinking a Dwarven Druid Melee, A Dwarven Paladin melee, or A human Ranger longbow user.

This sounds fun! As an experienced player just coming back, CORE sounds like just the thing for me.

Do we need to register our characters? Or is this just an experiment in using the CORE rules?

Just ahead of the party, you all notice three barely discernable lumps in the sand, surrounded by 8 dots. Your excellent, well-rested senses tell you that these are 3 bug like creatures buried in wait. Unfortunately for them, the sand dunes are just not quite thick enough to totally hide them. Birch is a young Gnome and the son of an Absolonian diplomat. Gifted with a smooth tongue, he got himself in more than his fair share of trouble among his friends at the Arcane University. Most times though, the mention of his father's name or a quick witted retort was all he needed to get out of a tough scrape. Birch's rhetorical hubris would be his downfall however. One night, while egging on a couple of his more magically gifted friends at the University, the three gnomes unleashed a horrifying spellblight. The magical disease broke Birch's body and seared a wing of the Arcane Library with extraplanar energies for months. Expelled from school, Birch was immediately transferred to the Clockwerk Cathedral, where he was taught basic working discipline and the means to summon an arcane construct to aid his movements. Birch quickly seized on this new form of power and now wears his Eidelon, "Maria", as an extension of his body.

I'd be interested in this. I have several characters I could play depending on what seems to fit the party best. I've got a summoner synethesist (sp?) ready, a sniper rogue, a brilliant old Archivist, or a staff-master magus.

...Just to name a few. *Shrug* I like making characters. Of the characters I can submit right away I have the gnome summoner stat'd and ready right now. But I can have the others in a couple hours. Looks like fun!

A young man is seen walking through the crowds. Clad in a beautifully embroidered armoured coat with an armoured kilt above his riding breeches and boots, he carries a finely wrought scimitar on a belt with a kukri on the opposite hip. His coal black hair shines with oils and kohl lines his eyes. Strolling, he stops to greet every attractive woman with a smile on his face and in his unusual pale gray eyes.

Tristia Desmond, wife of the Keeper and prominent intellectual from the city of Manaket greets you cordially. Departing briefly from the honor guard, she surprisingly strolls with you on the beach for a few minutes.

"I like to remember that it is men like you that saved Rahadoum from a slow hungry death. Some days, with the raiders, hot sun, and scorn of the gods, even eternal optimists like myself faltered in our resolve. But men like you, with steely eyes and mettled resolve, you will defy gods and frustrate demagogues."

And then much more darkly, she seems to grow pale and her eyes darker than the ocean's horizon.

"I hope that your future only attracts the worse we have to face yet. I hope that the gods heap on their wrath and that spirits haunt your steps so that all may know that, once standing, nobody will knock us down again. Good night Zahur."

And with that, she begins to walk down the beach alone, a short distance away from the party.

It has now been one hour since you all arrived to the party. There are about nine thousand people currently in attendance.

Dirk turns to the elf, the image of her face slightly out of focus, and smiles broadly showing a set of pearly white teeth.

"Why aren't you the life o' th' party, if you will excuse me a moment, I'm a thinkin' that that there table needs my attention."

Dirk walks towards the table of coffee drinkers and calls over his shoulder.

"Th' names Dirk Strongbeard, by the way, you are more than welcome to join me at this table, they seem to be a friendly bunch."

Dirk takes a seat at the table, grinning even broader than before.

"A tale is that yer be wantin'? Well the only tale I be knowin' is th' unfortunate tale of how I came to be here, instead of workin' in the town guard as me pappy were, and his grandpappy before him, fightin' and upholdin' th' peace."

Dirk starts to drink the foul black liquid in front of him, wondering how coffee ever became popular despite it tasting like the back end of a mule drenched in the waters that run in most sewers.

As to not spend too much time typing this, I will condense the story a little.

Dirk starts his tale, describing his love for his family and his longing for a life outside the halls of his large town. He shows signs of anger at the way he was treated as a young dwarf and the way he was down trodden by the more "Law abiding" member of the town, even though he did no wrong...most of the time.

Finally, Dirk starts his tale of his naval experience, and the oppressive first mate, Ojin, that, despite never taking his whip to Dirk, treated him like a dog, and eventually lead the coup to knock him out and leave him at the port of call, the city of Azir.

The coffee was finally taking effect, and Dirk rethought his previous statement, coffee was useful, if only to get rid of the effects of too much ale. No cure for the morning after too much ale comes without a sore price to be paid, be it taste or pain.

I could have written more, but I have to go to work soon, Dirk is the kind of guy to want to tell his story at...

That's perfectly fine by me. I'm a friendly DM. Just have fun and do what you can. I'm waiting on the other characters now :). Well, sunny got a bit in but we've two more.

Walking slowly and dutifully through small crowds of people, a lone dwarf seeks the strongest ale at this city wide celebration, kicking sand as he shuffles his boots through small piles of sand absent mindedly.

"Aye a sore sight this be, reminds me a little of home," he says with a slight tone of melancholy in his voice.

Dirk finds the nearest barrel of ale and offers to pay for 4 tankards, carefully noting all who pass by, hoping to Torag that none of his clan are here celebrating.

not sure if you wanted us to roll the 1d4 but here anyways 1d4, and not sure if Dirk has to pay for drinks, but a good dwarf knows the best ale is worth some payment.

No need to roll. Just wanted you all to see that "2" So you pay for some ale? No need to stat that. We'll call that about a half hour of drinkin for you.

SRD Sea Elves

Yea this is pretty balanced honestly. Dwarves get about as many random race features. The only really crazy thing is an automatic swim speed of 40. But that's really no big deal. But I'd be a hugggge wyrm of a GM if I didn't let you have the stats.

Professor Lasch spends most of his time reading. Or walking. Or walking and reading. He possesses an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the realm that borders on autistic.

Of course these skills have not gone unnoticed by the likes of kings, commanders, and even those that dabble in the arcane arts....If a crisis or contract catches his fancy, Lasch's mighty intellect is on hand to dismantle the problem.

EDIT - Here are the steps, if you need them...

Note: If your character is all set under the Muad alias, I'd suggest you copy the data in your edit window before doing the steps below.

1. At the top of your screen below the blue Paizo bar, click "My Account".
2. Look for the "Messageboard Aliases" section.
3. At the bottom of that section, click the link "Create new messageboard alias".
4. Put in your guy's name in the Avatar Name field.
5. Pick a picture by clicking the "change" button next to "Avatar Image" (this part can take forever - way too many pics to sort through but it is fun).
6. When done, click the "Submit Changes" button.
7. In the "Messageboard Aliases" section, click on the character's name.
8. Click the "Click here to create a profile" link.
9. Edit away!
Note: If you copied your data, just paste it in here and you are done.
10. Save it.

I have to ask, since I'm interested: any chance of playing a Dreamscarred Press' Psionics Unleashed in this campaign? The character would be one of the first psions awakening in the homebrewed world, pretending to be a human sorcerer. I'm thinking either a Shaper for the Astral Construct or a Kineticist for all the energy powers, plus some jack-of-all-trade skills and powers. I'm willing to post as verbosely as needed for the GM to understand the powers and rules (the PDF is $10). Only content from PU and a 3.5 power from The Mind's Eye would be third-party sources outside of the Core and APG. PU is 100% Pathfinder-compatible.

I've been playing tabletop D&D since 1992, but I'd like to get into PbP to try out new characters. I'm only involved in one other PbP (Rise of the Runelords) and that's just started. I can post several times per week, with only a few weekends barred to me.

I'm sorry jhpace1 but I really want to keep it to core and apg if I can. I appreciate you being able to go the extra mile but for now I'm just going to stick what I have here. Good hunting psion!

I am thinking Human Cavalier. He is a dyed in the wool believer in the righteous purity of a secular Rahadoum. (Perhaps a member or applicant to the Pure Legion) He upholds all of the tenets of the Laws of Man. His strength of conviction is so strong he is able to shrug off wounds (the Rahadoum regional feat that allows you to heal yourself once per day; I don't have the campaign setting book with me at work and cannot remember it's name) He is of the Order of the Shield; defending the common folk against the depredations of priests and religious zealots.

If this interests you, I'll write up the character for your review.

The feat "Spirit of the River" allows the character to 'party hard' with the dry folks for a number of days equal to her Constitution modifier PLUS her level. So, using the SRD Sea Elf stats, her Con could start at 18, plus one fore her level, allowing her five whole days of fun.

Add in "Endurance" and she's making a very good save once day for a while on top of that. =)
