Today's Pathfinder 2nd Edition new roundup is mainly about Critical Hits! And Failures. There's also a brief diversion into "save or suck" effects, and that old favourite, "damage on a miss" (tl;dr -- it's a failed attack roll, but not a miss). As always, this information gets added to the mighty Pathfinder 2nd Edition Compiled Info Page! Pathfinder 2's Critical Hits & Failures! Plus Save-or-Suck and Damage On A Miss!
In today's Pathfinder 2nd Edition news roundup, the playtest book preorders go live, Bulmahn and Radney-McFarland appear on a podcast, and what it would take to make "Pathfinder 1.5". Pathfinder 2 Playtest Preorders, Podcasts, & "Pathfinder 1.5"
Thanks Vic! Today's update -- The latest blog entry over at Paizo delves a little into the three game modes of Pathfinder 2nd Edition -- encounter, exploration, and downtime. Erik Mona also talks a little about the future Bestiaries, and some more discussion on death and dying. As always, all this information gets added to the Pathfinder 2nd Edition Compiled Info Page!
Today's Pathfinder 2nd Edition roundup is an eclectic collection of bits and pieces and little hints. A bit on the fighter, a bit on skills, and hints at a new Counterspell. http://www.enworld.org/forum/content.php?5085-Pathfinder-2-Fighters-Skills- Counterspells

After all, I remember obsessively going to it several times per day for a fresh 3.0 tidbits fix, back in 1999. Great times :-) If I have one talent, this is it... (or is it OCD?)

Without wanting to digress back into tech support, whenever I post a correctly link here with the URL tags, and hit submit, the software inserts a space into it, breaking the link, after I hit submit, not before.
Today's update - Today brings us our first look at one of the core classes -- the fighter! Jason Bulmahn delves into what we should expect from the 2nd Edition version of this classic class. http://www.enworld.org/forum/content.php?5080-Fighter-Class-Preview-For-Pat hfinder-2nd-Edition All integrated into the compiled information post!
This is my second attempt to do this today, as I had all this compiled earlier and then the internet flaked out on me just as I hit "Save". So... starting again! Today's Pathfinder 2nd Edition news update, remarkably similar to the one I wrote about an hour ago, includes Jason Bulmahn talking about game design goals, Mark Seifter clarifying some things about the new proficiency system, and Erik Mona discovering that the most popular archetype is the Archeologist! All, of course, will be added to the Pathfinder 2nd Edition Compiled Info Page!
Proficiencies are the big news for Pathfinder 2nd Edition today! We take a look at Paizo's new blog on proficiencies, and I break down Mark Seifter's daily novel (I have no idea how that guy has time to work on the game!); some of the quotes below get a little opaque, so free to skim past them unless your Pathfinder system mastery skills are strong. We also very briefly look at magic items and Resonance again. http://www.enworld.org/forum/content.php?5070-Pathfinder-2-s-Proficiency-Sy stem-Explored (yeah, didn't try the formatting this time and just pasted the URL in directly; forum's definitely adding spaces into it).
And today's update! So much math... if you ever wanted to hear about spreadsheets running simulations for Resonance and Death/Dying, it's your lucky day! Pathfinder 2 - More on Dying, Resonance, & Much Math! All being added to the compiled info page here: Pathfinder 2nd Edition Compiled Info Page! (Dammit, I *still* can't get links to work!)
After having discovered that all my updates for the last 2 days to the compiled info page had vanished, I just spent a few hours reapplying them. Fun! It's another day, and that means another round of Pathfinder 2nd Edition News! Today's menu includes more discussion on resonance, followed by the main course -- the new rules for death & dying! All added, as ever, to the Pathfinder 2nd Edition Compiled Info Page! Latest additions: Compiled Info Page: So, this had dropped off the front page since my last post. I can't tell if anybody's reading it or not, and I don't want to feel like a spammer -- should I continue posting updates in the thread? I'll still be writing the news updates and keeping the compiled page updated regardless, of course.
There's a fair amount to unpack in today's Pathfinder 2nd Edition news roundup! The big thing, I think, is where we find out what Resonance is and how it limits magic item use (and CLW wand-spamming); there's a ton more playtest demo media for you to watch or listen to, and some discussion from Paizo's Mark Seifter on Pathfinder 2nd Edition's differences to D&D 5E. All updated on the compiled info page (linked above) or see this post for just today's specific updates:
Caught it just before it dropped off the page! Today's update includes this new infodump on levelling, skills, feats, faux leather covers, and much more, along with a new playtest report from @exile over on EN World. All added to the compiled information page. Which is now enormous, and it's not even a week yet!

Aha, thank you!
Sorry if this is just getting spammy. Let me know if it is! Today's update about Pathfinder 2nd Edition! A ton of small updates covering a whole variety of topics -- critical hits, skills, spell scaling, underlying math, proficiencies and attack bonuses, and more! Dive in! All this has also been integrated into the Pathfinder 2 Compiled Information Page (which underwent some major reorganisation yesterday, as the sheer volume of information was starting to mount up!) http://www.enworld.org/forum/content.php?5041-Pathfinder-2-Crits-Skills-Sca ling-&-Proficiencies! All added to the compiled information page:
Thanks Vic! Today's updates -- A few small Pathfinder 2nd Edition tidbits have dropped in my inbox! I've summarised the latest at the link above, and also added it all to the Pathfinder 2nd Edition Compiled Info Page. This covers theatre of the mind play, monster reactions, PDF timing, German translations, and Pathfinder Society support for 1st Edition. (Thanks to Jerome for the email!) All updated at the compiled info page.
Hey all, I don't get over here much, but as has been my tradition for every edition of D&D and Pathfinder since Eric Noah started compiling information on D&D 3E back in 1999, and I did the same with D&D 3.5, D&D 4th Edition, Pathfinder, and D&D 5th Edition, I'll be compiling every snippet of information about Pathfinder 2nd Edition I can find all in one place! Whenever I see a new bit of info, a new blog post, a new post from a designer, I'll be adding it there (as well as posting regular news updates on the news page). Whenever I see a new bit of info, a new blog post, a new post from a designer, I'll be adding it there (as well as posting regular news updates on the news page). Currently compiles info from the Glass Cannon podcast, all the forum posts from designers here, or on EN World, and all the blogs/announcements so far. |
