You are right of course Erevis, "how could I possibly not have seen that" .

Abraham it would be interesting to see how your party does in the final two paths. I have the impression that both of them are much more dangerous than the third or the fourth one. Watch out :).

and boy am i lookgin foreward to that fact!

Im currently playing a TWF character using a dire flail. (3.5e)

Sorc 4
Rogue 4
Barbarian 2
Dragon Disciple 4

I have a Str score of 28.
I have a dex of 16.
Ive been Permanently enlarged.
Dire flail is Adamantine / Cold iron with +1 holy on both ends.

I am swinging for 2d6+10 (+2d6 Sneak + 2d6 holy) / 2d6+6 (+2d6 Sneak + 2d6 holy)

Unfortunatly to get this versatility my BAB has suffered greatly. +9/+4 is not my friend. But because of the Str modifier I can still Power attack my heart away and still connect.

Were playing Second Darkness.

campaign details:
In other campaigns he wouldn't have the damage output he does considering the damage base is on demolishing Drow.

When I full i get to roll 5 attacks (5th is bite from Dragon disciple)and its devastating when I hit multiple times. Even the straight monk cant keep up when I unload.

To be viable you have to plan ahead well enough to know what your getting into. Yes a rogue could have a crap ton of Sneak attack dice by now or the 2h fighter could crush me in AC and damage. But that's not why i built Melnik the way i did. that's not his personality. He doesn't Eat Zombie flesh to disgust others around him he dose it because ITS DELICIOUS! the weapons are all about flavor and character personality. Ive broken I don't know how many walls down to escape places. But i do know that nothing says filling like using burning hands to cook your very own drow dinner!

Dark Archive

Well done!

You should Skip ahead and work on the ones for The end of eternity the impossible Eye and The final wish for me!

I would steal the crap out of those!

If I have a 15th level Fighter who has taken, Quickdraw, Two-weapon Fighting and Improved Two-Weapon Fighting... can he throw 5 daggers w/ a full attack action? Normal BAB is +15/+10/+5, would the thrown daggers be at +13/+13/+8/+8/+3 then?

Also, you get your Dex modifier to hit as well. But str is your bonus damage i think.

Dark Archive

Oh Come on abe, I put alot more work into it than that. tell them the full story.

Dark Archive

You could always take some fighter levels, Full BAB and loads of feats. Nice compliment to a rogue.

Ill move this over Here

Again with Nethys

Spoiler:

As the group entered the room from the wrong end, Haidar stood atop his "hallucinatoryly grandiose barge" and Told the adventurers he would not let them have his families treasures. Jumping down he failed a jump check took damage then changed into Werelepord form. that was his first turn. The next to go was the groups Fighter. Tanglefoot bag to the FACE. Haidar rolled a 1 and auto-failed. the group proceeded to poke the s~&# out of him from afar using 2 long spears a scorpion whip and Magic form our arcane caster. It took them 5 rounds just before the tanglefoot wore out a final killing blow ended Haidar's suffering.

He never got to attack ANYONE.

Any chance of Actually finishing LoF Paper Minis? My Players have come to love them ( my halfling bard player is using Baby goat! )

Dark Archive

As a player of Second Darkness and a DM for Lof

Skip SD and go strait for LoF it is AWESOME

Dark Archive

In my Friday night LoF Group i have a paladin who does mounted combat. His favorite action is to charge one Gnoll and have the horse overrun another that is in the way. Since the total actions come to a total of One move One attack and one CBM I allow it. Since the charge is a move from the horse and an attack from the paladin, i dont let him attack the final target with the horse, so he can overrun instead. I think this is a creative use of the horse allowing the paladin to break through a line and get behind it.

Sorry about being incommunicado, gang. My life got upended by several events which have yet to fully resolve themselves. Worry not, however; work continues on the sets. I'll be working as much as possible on them over the next few weeks, so hopefully a few sets will hit the market before Christmas.

my group just finished House of the beast and i have no new paper minis to present to them! Any ideas when we might see Jackels Price paper minis?

the halfling bard in my group is using Baby goat as her mini.

They really loved all the different things i had to use and show them for what they were fighting and have already asked what awesome new paper minis i have for the next one.

If you make them roll both at the same time, note which dice they use as their primary, and then at random times during the adventure tell them they are feeling unlucky and have to roll both.... but disreguard the second one... I had the person I ran through the chapel pulling up floorboards and ransacking rooms, leaving items on the ground, looking for "the little menace that keeps making me roll again"

I wish I would have though of that.

Ive been running LoF for a while now and were deep into the 2ed book.

mold:
I hate to say it but jimmy the encounter in the alchemist lab so that you end up with a moldspeaker, my Bard is having a wonderful time being our moldspeaker and having read through the books there are to many powerful tools for role play to keep it from feeling like your railroading them with the subtle hints you can feed your moldspeaker out of game to push them in the right direction.

Tiny Fey:
Make them HATE pugwampis from the start. I did such a good job of this no one else wants to even mention them because they have become a dirty word. It makes me giggle.
Deffinatly read this thread
http://paizo.com/paizo/messageboards/paizoPublishing/pathfinder/adventurePa th/legacyOfFire/needHelpMakingPugwampisMoreThreateningAndAnnoying
Lots of very useful information there

If your going to have 6 players I would maybe give them 5-7 HP instead of 3, Or up the number of them even with their DR of 3 they go down very easy but choose one or the other not both, they are supposed to be annoying not aggravating. All of this is just to reinforce how much they should loathe these minuscule creatures. Do it right now and they will talk about them through the entire campaign

The player in my group that became the moldspeaker and found Tempest is a meteor hammer focused ranger/fighter. Would Tempest convert to a +1/mwk metor hammer or a +1/+1 meteor hammer and would the abilities it gains with the character be gained on both ends of the weapon? or would the character be able to enchant the other end of the weapon as he wants himself?
Unless you'd be willing to give a dual weapon character who fights with two separate weapons two copies of Tempest (which would only be fair if you give the same to a double weapon guy), I would suggest having Tempest only affect one end of a double weapon and let the PC magic up the other end as he wants and can afford.

To that end What is the opinion of letting a moldspeaker add their own magics to a weapon? If they are going to have this all the way through the story what if they want to add a modifier they want / can afford?

Pathfinder bard countersong for the win.. We were worried also on that confusion b/c it has no duration it just stays on, that Xulthos could kill an entire party on bad saving throws. He was mean but now he's going to be two medium breastplates with a 10% miss chance...

I am the DM for Grasshopper. I gave Xulthos Full HP and they CRUSHED him still.

I laughed to myself when I read this post for the first time. Then when i allowed a PC to remake a character because what he was doign ( based on Beta at the time) got completely changed and asked if he coudl just re roll. i allowed it and in he walks with the onyl man in our group. A half-orc Paladin with 17 Charisma.

Undrella loved him.

and my group came to call them Horpies

Howl of the Carrion King TPK

Party:

Aldadlon (wood elf ranger 2)
Ibrahim (human favored soul 2)
Athraig (gray elf wizard 2)

Refusing any assitance from the guards, the party set off to investigate the ruins and deal with the obvious gnoll threat. Managing to sneak up along the river, they ambushed a patrol of 4 gnolls and made short work of them. Confidence bolstered, they began exploring the largest building nearby.

Upon entering, a huge snake lunged forward and they found themselves overwhelmed. Given the size of the beast, fleeing was difficult as it guarded the doorway with its reach. Aldadlon used both his weapons and every ounce of ability (action points) to ensure victory. Ibrahim struck at the snake with his magic staff, and expending his healing to keep himself and Aldadlon alive. Athraig used his 5th level wand of magic missile several times, and then grew worried about wasting charges.

Athraig switched to his heavy crossbow and began loading it. As he finished, Aldadlon fell unconscious. Ibrahim attempted to heal him but the snake distracted him and he lost his spell. Athraig fired at the snake and missed. Ibrahim attempted to heal Aldadlon again, but was bitten and struck dead. Athraig switched back to his wand but it was too late. The snake bit him and he succumbed to its poison.

The mamba had a delicious dinner of elves and humans, and several days later the gnolls discovered their remains and cackled with glee.

your party was under leveled and undermanned for that part of the adventure, its no surprise you got a TPK

My group decided that they would scout out the Old Shrine when they first were given the choice to go where they please to explore / scout around their destination.

I Will not be posting a Obit for a PC Rather for an NPC who was so horribly demolished by a party of lvl 2s he should have TPKed its embarrassing.

The crushing of haidar, Cause - Tangelfoot bag:

As the group entered the room from the wrong end, Haidar stood atop his "hallucinatoryly grandiose barge" and Told the adventurers he would not let them have his families treasures. Jumping down he failed a jump check took damage then changed into Werelepord form. that was his first turn. The next to go was the groups Fighter. Tanglefoot bag to the FACE. It took them 5 rounds just before the tanglefoot wore out a final killing blow ended Haidar's suffering.

He never got to attack ANYONE.

4 lvl 2 PC's dominated a CR5 encounter.

I am DMing a group of Legacy of fire. We are just starting out with HotCK and are into our 2ed play session.

My group consists of:

Mali Licous - Ulfen Druid Ng Female (23) Migrated from irrisan to kingdom on the limworm kings met haleen and moved with her to Katapesh

Leelah Westerfly - Halfling Bard female (34) I am a freed slave, favorite from a wealthy slave merchant. Trained as a dancer and low whistle player (for accompanying myself) inspired by tales from other merchants. I am traveling to see the world, free other slaves, + make a name for myself.
GM note - The bard is using a scorpion whip. i see this one as my moldspeaker candidate.

Coryen - Hman Fighter Female (19) Mother wizard, Father barbarian from Ulfin. Raised in Taldor went to warrior college. Mom taught me some magic.

Grumph Gemnok - Dwarf Cleric of Pharasma. Home land : Unknown . Raised in Garund. He was given 900 gold to travel to Katapesh as a missionary for Pharasma. He has some minor healing skill and has gaining some power over death as well.

A few notes about what we have done so far

Gm Info, not PC friendly:

Our fighter hacked her way though the Cactus patch to rescue Rombard. so there was little pugwampi fun to be had there. Now that we have moved onto the monastery the PC really got to have a taste of how irritating they are going to be. They found the 3 in the Kitchen the druids Snake animal companion was my first Kill the pugwampis crossbowed something they are familiar to hunting to death. The Druid put an obscuring mist in the room which freak the crap out of my pugwamps.Teh Dwarf had moved in through the fog hoping to aid the snake in its fight is seen by the pugwampis who taunt him abtou the dead snake he then retreats out of the room. a few rounds passed of ecveryoen leaving the room and moving away form the door. the druid with a light spell backed up twords the baboons room and pissed them off. One baboon came out as i tried to push the PCs back twords the pugwampis ( who were going bat s+*! crazy over having food and praising the gnoll gods for sending them fresh meat and shrieking in fright about the fog) The druid Calmed it down and it went back to its room seeing it was outnumbered then the fighter double moved past the room and pissed off the other 3. so now the fight is 3 pugwampis in the kitchen adn 3 baboons v 4 PC's TPK no, the Druid calmed another one down and they slaughtered the other two baboons. Before the fog dissipated the Halfling bard who speaks Gnoll in a high pitched voice screams that they have dead dwarf to feast upon now and that the fog is harmless. They fall for this hook line and sinker. 3 pugwampis come runnign out to revel in the death of the dwarf they think they made flee for his life earlier and are quickly disposed of.

They started at the moldy door and tried to burn it away but all it did was singe it. they opened the door then decided to not go that way yet.
