Miron, sits for a while in thought as the others speak, rubbing his hands together for warmth. The journey to the crypt had been harrowing at times, and the disease he'd picked up was troubling. But it had been a bit exciting and being able to use his magic for something important was gratifying.

Contemplating the life he'd have if he just stayed in Kassen working on his parents farm, he finds that increasingly unappealing.

"I would like to go." he announces.

"It was about some things he discovered before founding the town." Miron adds. "The thieves took some amulets from him and Asar. Asar used to be his adventuring companion, he said. He also said there was an elf called Iramine who had another of the amulets, and we should try to find her if she's still alive."

Miron wakes feeling slightly better. The cold still lurks within him, but it at least now was the one he was used to, instead of feeling the unnatural chill of the zombie disease.

Gathering up his items from the sick beds, he heads over to the meeting. Bundled up in his coat, he looks around for old man Vardigan, but can't see him. A bit disappointing, but not too surprising - the man wasn't the most reliable. "I'll have to find him later." he thinks, reflecting on the growth of his magic during the time at the tomb "I need to talk to someone about my magic."

As for the main focus of the meeting, Miron is content to let Joras and Roya do most of the talking, only interjecting to add detail about anything magical they found. which I believe were mostly part of the intended trial

"I'll stay here if I can" he answers the priest. "My folks are busy with the harvest, and I think I'll be safer here if..." he trails off worriedly. "But please tell them that I'm here." he adds.

At the subject of payment comes up, he adds "I have my share from what we have, we can use that."

Miron sleeps fitfully and wakens early. He thinks about getting up to gather firewood, but with the throbbing in his head he ends up just wrapping his blankets around him tossing and turning restlessly.

For most of remainder of the journey home he keeps his head down and concentrates on helping to drag the stretchers home.

At the small welcoming committee, he approaches the priest with a wavering voice. "Father, I .. I don't feel well, there were some monsters we fought, I think something might have infected me."

Miron is leaned over the sarcophagus, gathering up the links, when he hears Conrad shout and rush off. Quickly pulls himself up and turns, startling at the sight of the ethereal Kassan.

Heading over, he listens to his friends' questions before tentatively asking one of his own.

"Um, I think the man over there was looking for the amulets you and Asar have... had. Do you know why he'd be looking for them?"

haha, I rolled poorly on my 2nd level hp, so more would be good.

Background Skill: yes. I normally do Profession (job they would do if they weren't adventuring) anyway, so the restriction works for me. Would be Farmer (not sure if I said anything about what sort of farm yet)

(Miron points out the magical gear)

"This is Asar's coffin." Miron says to Conrad, looking at the sarcophagus. "I guess they must have put him in here too?" he wonders, once again wishing he'd listened more to the town's history. "Did this guy try to raise him or something? Why would he do that?"

Looking at the stranger's map, "It says something about amulets, but Asar wasn't wearing one." He peers into the Asar's sarcophagus to see if if there's any trace of it.

Miron takes a moment to breathe as he watches the flame of the skeletal Asar fade away. Wrapping his cloak back around himself, he casts Detect Magic and looks briefly over the unconscious woman, before turning to check over the remains of Asar.

"What do you suppose he was going to say at the end there?" he asks. "Did someone else bring back his spirit?"

Remembering the other thing Asar had said, Miron then goes to investigate the corpse that the skeleton had taunted him with.

After seeing the powerful strikes of the skeleton, Miron resolves to put some distance between himself and the skeleton. He ducks away and circles around the pillars to a safer vantage point.

withdraw, 19 damage would kill me outright haha

If he's got high AC, one option is to use aid another to give a +2 bonus to attack. Just have to hit a DC 10 (and be close enough to hit him...)

Miron jumps as the skeleton archer's missile nearly hits him. He scrambles forward to seek refuge behind one of the statues in the crypt.
He swiftly repeats the incantations, and peering out sends another ray of energy into unholy magic animating the skeleton.

Miron moves into the doorway, the unnatural voice still ringing in his ears. He shivers, but is unsure whether it's from the perpetual cold, or the ghastly sight of the undead before him. As Roya's magic washes over him, he looks more determined. "it's just the cold" he mutters to himself.

The enigmatic knowledge that has prodded his thoughts all morning surges to the forefront. His fingers instinctively weave a new pattern, and with a motion unfamiliar yet oddly natural, he launches a crystalline ray at one of the nearest skeletons. The ray hits in a flash of teal as the magic cascades through the necromantic energy animating the skeletal warrior.

Miron watches the path of the statues carefully and moves up to the limit of their reach. When they are triggered again, he hustles forward as they grind back to their original positions.

Approaching the door, he slows to a stop. "I mean, it's probably the flame, right?" he suggests. "And if the tomb has been disturbed, then I guess it's up to us to try and fix it." he adds, only slightly uncertainly.

Before they head in he casts Mage Armor and his skin briefly shimmers with the pale blue glow as the spell settles over him.

"Well, at least bats are.. normal." he pants, looking back through the doorway "They might leave us alone if we don't disturb them.. right?" he asks.

Miron takes a drink from the fountain based on Brandark's testimony and Perri's subsequent test.

"Could I get some cleaning too? I wasn't expecting to need new clothes."

"Bloody skeletons and zombies." he swears, "I really feel like doing.. something to them." he adds in a low voice to himself, stretching his hands out in some some unfamiliar, (yet familiar?) gestures.

As the group heads off, Miron casts light on his dagger and the pale glow lights up the rear of the party.

Miron wakes up shivering, as usual, but paler than normal. As he checks himself over, he suddenly starts.

"Um, what were you saying yesterday about disease?" he asks Roya worriedly. "This wasn't like this yesterday. Oh gods, it must have been those exploding zombies." he continues in a panicked tone.

"Do you think it's the blue stuff on the walls? If it can burn, then it might match up with the pattern on the bodies? We could push one of the frogs we just killed into the wall to see what happens?" he suggests.

Miron wipes off his dagger and goes to inspect the body. "The ring's held up pretty well, considering the rest of him." he remarks. The pale glow shimmers over his eyes as he inspects it for magic.

"Could just be metal lasts longer though." he adds. "Maybe his coins are still good too?" He takes the coin pouch and has a look inside.
