Congratulations on the new addition GM Torondor. Take your time getting back to us, and I won't blame you for parent brain ever. Samuel sorry work is so crazy. I have the same thing going on myself. It's coming up on the end of the federal fiscal year. So I'm going crazy trying to get things closed out. Torondor: Question: Do I need to make any changes on Minerva's character to be caught up with everyone? I'm thinking not because of the nature of the system.
I'll wait until the boys finish up.
Hello all. I reached out to Tarondor to see if he had space in this game. I started at the beginning of the game, but needed to take a hiatus from PBP. I'm sticking my toes back in the water, and am here to join back up. I think Minerva just decided not to join the party after the first adventure rather than dying a horrible death.
Minvera sticks her head into the room, and looks around. "Heh, hi looks like your still adventuring in here. How are things going?" It's been a while since I've been on the boards, and I'm interested in sticking my toe back in if/when you might have an opening.
Minerva nods in agreement with Abraham. "You knew this had a high possibility of weird. I didn't expect stolen bodies, and goo intestines in the weird." She carefully checks her gear, and double checks her weapon is fully loaded, and easily accessible.

"Hello Gents. We're here to help. At least we hope to help." Minerva calls out her British accent clearly heard as she calls out.
Minerva is driving the car. She begins to inch it forward toward the gate. "Hopefully we can slide the gate open just enough to get the car through without any of the locals coming in with us." She says.
Minerva enjoys the meal. We could all be dead in a day. No reason not to enjoy meat from an animal no one can identify, and might kill us. She makes small take with the officers, and then prepares to join the team at the edge of the quarantine area.
Minerva accepts the doctor's assistance, and the offered liquor. "Let's hope I never have to do that again." "Dinner sounds wonderful. I'd like to hear how we can help with the plague."
Minerva puts on her best upper crust British accent, and a small smile. "Minerva Ashford. It's a pleasure to meet you as well. I need to thank those who talked me through the landing. I'm the one who failed to follow instructions well. We're all wounded. Thankfully we all survived the crash." She shakes his hand, and then doubles over in pain.
Minerva crawls out of the wreckage bleeding. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Ouch I hurt, and again I'm sorry. Is everyone alive?" She coughs where she was still a little sore from her last death. She head comes up quickly when she hears the timeline. Ouch! Twenty four hours? What do you mean 24 hours?"
Minerva slides into the pilots seat. "No haunting me if we all die because of this." She follows the instructions as best she can. Praying to any one who might listen, and promising to cut down on the booze if she survives.
Minerva grabs the radio, "Hello? Hello! This is the Caducueus flight. We've had an emergency, and both the pilot and co-pilot are not available to fly the plane. None of the passengers know how to fly or land a plane; or even where we are in relation to the air field. Can you help? Please help!" She releases the talk button and waits not breathing for a response.
"Is there a radio? Can we contact a tower?" Minerva keeps her gun in hand and keeps looking out the windows waiting for another attack to come.
I have not been hit by a bus, but it feels like it. Work buried me this week. I'll try to get posts up tomorrow. I hate the end of the federal fiscal year.
Minerva lets out a loud scream as she sees the creature with no face. "It's on the wing. It's got a tail. We're going to crash!!!" Minerva scrambles out of her seat and looks for something to use as a weapon. I hope I can find a bottle. "I'll even take a book at this point." she bursts out with the non sequitur.
Is that 1d10-2 or 1d10+2 for the .45?
Abraham:
She takes the offered cigarette, and carefully inhales. "I think most of my insides were on the outside. Thank you for letting me know what happened. There was a big blank spot from right after we got outside the temple until I woke up in the hospital." She shifts in her chair. "I'm grateful to you all for getting me back to New York. Dying in a jungle wasn't part of my plans." She makes her way slowly into the office building signing is as requested. She smiles at the young man who turns out to be Shapiro. "I almost died you know. All for lack of information. We might have prepared better if we'd know were weren't going to be dealing with humans. Maybe I wouldn't have gone at all." Carefully taking a seat at the table she sips the offered coffee. "From one jungle to another. Tell me, do the serpent people ever do anything evil in Siberia? At least that's not a jungle." After carefully studying the binder. She shivers and shakes her head. "This is so fantastical it must be true. Is there a way to tell the two groups apart? Should we assume if we find serpent people that they are the evil toad god followers?"
Minerva spends the flight barely clinging to life. Once back in New York she's rushed to Mt. Sinai Hospital for treatment. The doctors put her back together. Her recovery will be a long one. She wakes up in the hospital room after her surgery not exactly sure how she came to be here. Did we complete our mission? I hope we did, we're clearly back in New York. She spends a long time thinking about what happened, what they saw. She wonders if it's worth continuing with the organization. I wonder what Caduceus will have to say for themselves. Is this job worth it? The things we saw. How could those be real? What did they want the woman for?I hope I heal enough to find out. She writes letters to her family, and reads the latest pulp novels as she heals.

Minerva lays their bleeding and "dead". She wishes she could see her colleagues continue their good fight.
Minerva dives for cover, raises her pistol and shoots at the Captain.
Minerva skirts behind the priest in the group. "I'll keep an eye out in the back of the group. Father be careful. Those creatures may want the woman badly." She has her pistol out and keeps an eye behind for the snake.
Minerva moves up and touches the woman to see if anything happens. "You awake in there, luv?" She shrugs at the boys. "Couldn't think of anything else to do."
"It's not a humanitarian mission. Unless our saving the living woman over there a humanitarian action. If she really is alive." Minerva mutters to Chakos. "Who wants to approach our host?"
Minerva sits up carefully. "Thank you. I can't seem to keep from getting hurt in this place." She looks around the room, and the paintings on the walls. "Did you say she's alive?" she asks Chakos. "She can't be alive."
Minerva heads down into the dark. "Father! Come on. We need to get away from this creature." She runs off the ledge into the dark.
"What about the odd gun. Maybe it will hurt it. Abraham do you still have it?" Minerva rushes to the passageway under the throne, and looks down it. "I can't tell if anything's down there. We may have to take the chance. Maybe we can pull some rubble down behind us and block the snake from following."
Minerva stands and takes some time to look about the room. Trying to see in the dark corners. Her upper crust British accent takes on a bite. "I can't believe there really is a mummy. In the jungle no less. Let's hope the demon doesn't get us before we can get on that transport out of here."
Minerva sits up with Chakos leaning over her. "That hurt." Seeing the bandages she thanks the medic. She looks over at the statue, and sees the green shards laying on the ground. "No! Those beautiful gems. We could have gotten so much for them in New York or London. I know a guy who could have cut them into smaller gems and gotten us even more." She looks almost sick at the loss. Then she turns back to the statue. "I'm fairly certain that isn't a snake mask."
Minerva studies the newcomers. "Glad to have a new medic. Our last one lost her mind, and is waiting for us to take her out of here when we leave. Don't know how I'm going to tell her parents what happened. I'm Minerva. Lately of New York. I'm a...Well I'm a Jill of all trades. Let's leave it that for the moment." She says in a crisp Upper Crust British accent. "I hope you have strong nerves. Nothing is normal around here. Nothing." she reloads her weapon and turns to face down the stairs again.
Minerva spins and points her weapon up the stairs. "That's not Spanish. Who is it?" she asks as she recognizes the word Pena in the words.
Welcome to the group. Either character sounds like a good fit. Play what you'd like to.
Minerva moves out of the way of Enoli. "Father take a step back. We don't want caught in the flames." She continues to swing out with her pistol at any snakes that get to close to her.
Minvera does a funny hop step as she rushes down the stairs trying to avoid stepping on any snakes. "Now we have swords coming out of the walls?" She cries as she ducks under the blade that almost took Abraham's head off.
Minvera nods and follows Abraham down into the darkness with her pistol out. Hand on the wall so she doesn't trip.
Minerva helps the Father climb up to the door. "Come on Father lets see what's worth killing and dying for in this place." She looks at the door carefully. "I hate to say this, but perhaps we should try to close it behind us. It might slow down those who would follow us." She looks into the darkness beyond the door. "We also might trap ourselves inside with whatever is waiting for us." I really don't want to be here. I want to go back to New York and have a cool bath, a drink or four to forget about this gods forsaken jungle and whatever it is we're supposed to be dragging out of it. She turns to her companions and studies each of their faces for a long time. "I really hope we come out of this sane. I don't want to be crazy, because I'm seeing things that break my mind." She looks almost like a child who has been lost for a moment, and then that British we can endure anything spirit kicks in. "Right. Let's complete this mission shall we."
"Father that sounds like an excellent plan. Let's wait for them to do the work for us, and hopefully get inside ahead of the soldiers." She shudders. "Not that I want to face whatever is in the temple first." She starts the long slow climb out of the pit of the pillow.
Minerva holds up her light as she studies the murals. "We walked all this way. It makes sense to study them more. Maybe there's a hidden door or something. Otherwise we have to climb back out of this pit, and I'm not looking forward to that." Father what did you see with Captain Lafuente? Did you see a serpent like this?" she shakes her head. He couldn't have seen a snake person. They don't exist. He must have heat stroke.
Minerva moves next to the good Father. "All right into the mouth of hell we go. Pray for ours souls. We're going to need it." She pulls out a light and begins to climb down the stairs.
"I"m fairly certain that there are other men who will try to blow the other pillows. We should maybe try to stop them. I don't want to go down in that hole with whatever is down there. I'd rather face men than whatever went down that hole." Minerva notices the tank with the nozzle. "I wonder if that thing works like the fancy gun. Want me to wear it Enoli? I'm stronger than I look."
Minerva comes out of the trees looking around at the battlefield. "This is unusual." She starts looking for blood trails or drag trails at the edge of the battlefield. "Where is the pillow?"
Minerva sighs and shimmies down the tower. "All right. I'll be a brave person and go and help our enemies. Nothing good will come from this. Mark my words." She reloads her pistol and readies to move out in the direction of the gunfire.
"Well we can wait for somebody else to open the door for us or we can try to head to the next pillow and stop them from opening the temple." She sits down on the ledge and looks over at the others. "I say wait. Aren't we supposed to go in here." she waves her hand at the doorway. To find a mummy to bring back to New York. Personally I'd rather let somebody else deal with those guardians while we sit here and wait for them to open the door."
Minerva looks at the door way. "The pillows were locks to keep the temple closed. Breaking only three will be sufficient to open the temple. Why was there dynamite on the mules? Why would anyone want to open up something that has those things guarding it?" She leans forward and tries to look into the door. "I'm afraid of what's going to come out of this door if those were guardians to keep the temple from opening."
"So one of the pillows were open, and this thing screwed itself out of the ground. Maybe if we open more pillows it will push the tower up higher. What do you think?"
Minerva moves up to the structure, and looks for writing. "Enoli I can try to climb it." She starts to use the screw like ridges to climb up the structure.
Minerva looks stunned at the events of the last few minutes. She's shaking and sits down on the ground hard. As if her legs just won't support her any longer. "Poor Louise. She wasn't cut out for this. I'm not cut out for this either" She wraps her arms around herself as if she's freezing, and stares into the jungle for a few minutes. Then she nods, and stands. "Right. Stiff upper lip and all that. If we look at the other pillows and they have been blown open. Do you think there could be another one of those things coming up the stairs after us? I'm ok with trying to climb down this one, but I don't think Father Antonio could make it."
