PLAY IN TARONDOR’S HOME GAME!
This message is going out to everyone I play with. Or really, anyone who happens to see it. Don’t be shy.
I’m a long (really long) time GM and my home game has been online since 2020. But it has also dwindled in size and I’d really like to have more great players! So, since we play online that means anyone could potentially play with us. Interested? Just drop me a Private Message!
DETAILS
My players and I are in the last book of an Adventure Path (Age of Ashes) and we’ll be wrapping it up in the next 2-3 months. When that’s over, we’d really like to have more players. 6 to 7 players would be ideal. Right now we are 3 players plus me.
We play every other Sunday from 12-6 Eastern time. We -don’t- use any VTT’s (your GM finds them distracting). We just talk over Discord and use Google slides for images and maps. Works great and there’s zero learning curve.
PLAYER’S CHOICE
One thing I’ll be doing differently this time is that instead of me telling the players what we’re going to play, I’m going to offer the players a choice of 5 or 6 potential campaigns I’d be willing to run (including a few different game systems) and let the players tell me what they want to play. I expect we’ll be playing Pathfinder 2e, but if the players prefer sci-fi or superheroes we might be using a different system.
So anyway, if you’d like to join us and want to have some input in what we play, now’s your chance to get involved!
WHO I AM
I’m Tarondor. My real name is Scott Nolan and I’m a lawyer, a dad, a husband and a big ol’ nerd whose RPG credentials go back to the 1970's. I love pretty much every style of gaming from “kick in the door” to deep roleplaying. I don’t care if you’ve got forty years of experience or if you’ve never played the game, so long as you’re good at getting along with others and don’t think that “what? It’s what my character would do!” is an excuse for screwing your party.
My own style leans towards epic quests. You can get an idea of my GMing style from the many games I run here on the Paizo boards. You can also check out my various guides to character classes and whatnot by clicking on my Profile.
Ooh. Everyone is welcome, but leave your baggage and agendas at the door. We’re just here to sling dice and have fun.
If you’re interested, let me know!

Apologies for delay. I'm here, just very busy at work of late with no time/energy to post. Feel free to bot me, but my take is that we are going to see the good Reverend Kornfield do his thing and then make our plans from there.

Father Antonio Peña |

BTW, I have actually been to a snake-handling church once. A weird experience, though not as sensational as you might think. Only the preacher handled the snake.

GM Tarondor |

A word on the Oklahoma chapter. Youtuber Seth Skorkowsky called it the least interesting chapter of a great adventure.
The authors note that this chapter was put in to provide a different experience -allowing some investigation instead of the non-stop action of the other chapters. So don't feel bad if you're not really sure what you should be doing. I think that's part of the plan.
Remember that Joshua Meadham asked you to look for -how- these people began to worship Yig instead of the Christian deity. He also gave you a radio array you can set up and call him. Finally, Dr. Gonçalves asked you to be merciful and told you that Yig-worshiping humans are not the same as the Serpent-People of the Inner Night and have just gone astray.

Elliot Sorenson |

Interesting! It's definitely difficult to know where to go from here... My own thought was not for wanton violence against the human worshippers in any case, just the Yig-serving priest if he IS indeed a serpent person.
That's why I'm thinking we sneak into this place at night, long after the regular folk have gone to sleep. Figured this little visit could give us an up-close look at the reverend and see what we think. And also maybe take a look around so we have at least some idea of what the interior looks like.
I'm thinking we also talk with a few of the folks here in the congregation as well. Once we've concluded our brief visit, I'd suggest we get in touch with Joshua Meadham and let him know what we've learned and maybe what we're intending to do. And again, Elliot has NO intention of letting Reverend Kornfield touch him without putting up a hell of a fight.

Folks, I want to apologize for my absence. It was a combination of several personal things going on, filing taxes (I own a few businesses so it takes awhile) and having a fairly bad case of bronchitis (which I’m still not over). Nonetheless, I wish I had posted to let you all know I’m still alive.
My plan is to return to all my games tomorrow (Thursday the 20th).

Hello.

Chakos Hyluan |

Greetings adventurers! Just a quick note to let you know the family and I are taking some Summer vacation starting this evening.
I'll be back and ready to save the world on 12 June!

Elliot Sorenson |

Moving into a new place, I'll be back online after this weekend, but then taking a short vacation. My posting will be spotty until Monday, 6/12. Going to try and post once or twice during that time, but if I go radio silent you'll know why - so feel free to bot me. Thanks folks!

GM Tarondor |

Hey folks! I’m back.
For our 35th anniversary, the wife and I took the kids to the Black Hills and Yellowstone National Park. Saw the Badlands, Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Jewel Cave, Devil’s Tower, the Bighorn Mountains, Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. We saw bison, bears, bighorn sheep and elk up close (relatively) and even (supposedly, I’m not sure) a mountain lion at some distance. Despite our best efforts, we saw no wolves.
A came home with a bonus gift: COVID. So I’m taking things slowly, but I’m getting back to my games today.

Chakos Hyluan |

Sounds like a great trip, sorry about the COVID at the end.
We did those locations when I was a kid, so I'm sure yours loved it and will remember it.

GM Tarondor |

Dear GMs and Players:
I apologize for my absence over the last 8-9 days. I have suffered a serious bout of COVID. That plus the stresses of business and family have really beaten me up, physically. I am now up and out of bed, but I continue to live life in the slow lane.
I don’t want you to worry about me. I’m not gone, but I do ask your patience.
If I am your GM, I will return soon. If I am your player, I will understand if you remove me from the game.
Best Regards
Scott / Tarondor

Elliot Sorenson |

Take care of yourself and your family first my friend, we'll be here whenever you're ready to take up the reins again. Hope you feel better soon!

Chakos Hyluan |

Alrighty then, so bright and early tomorrow morning, I'm taking 14 Boy Scouts to Summer Camp at Camp Tuckahoe, PA.
Immediately following that will be my family reunion for a week.
I expect to be back online on the 21st of July.
Feel free to make decisions for me while I'm gone!

GM Tarondor |

I’m back. I won’t bore you with the details, but life has gotten a bit harder for me. For one thing, I’m about to have a third child in a few weeks, so I’ll be quite busy for a while.
I’m dropping some of my games, and I'm on the fence about this one. I like the players and the campaign but this has been going really slowly and I don't want to just introduce combat to speed things up.
What say you? Should we continue?
I mean, if worse comes to worst I can narrate us to the point of action, then move us quickly on to the next (and more exciting) chapter.

Father Antonio Peña |

Well, you might have your answer. I've been swamped lately at work, and it's definitely limited the energy I have for games. I enjoy the different tone of this game, but it is slow. I'd be sad for it to end, but it may be for the best.

Samuel "Brisk" Adams |

I would like it to continue. I vote we do. :D

Elliot Sorenson |

Sorry for the late response, been busy of late myself! I'd like this to continue, but perhaps fast forwarding a bit to the action might be called for. Not sure of what more I can post, save for the idea of Elliot perched on a building (or behind a window) nearby when the rest of the party meets with the serpent priest. I'd have my rifle and be ready to shoot if things go sideways.

Samuel "Brisk" Adams |

Awesome!

Minerva Ashford |

Hello all. I reached out to Tarondor to see if he had space in this game. I started at the beginning of the game, but needed to take a hiatus from PBP. I'm sticking my toes back in the water, and am here to join back up.
I think Minerva just decided not to join the party after the first adventure rather than dying a horrible death.

Samuel "Brisk" Adams |

Hello, and welcome (back) to the game.
