![]() "Which one do you think will get eaten first?" Markhet asks Ayish as she watches the two men attempt to lift the sarcophagus lid, "Markhet thinks N'Djamena will be the most tempting morsel to any elder evils sealed within because he has so much more tasty flesh visible, whereas Kelden at least keeps his head sensibly covered with a proper head of hair. If they're both eaten Markhet will attribute it to not having proper beards." ![]()
![]() N'Djamena wrote: N'Djamena stares wide-eyed at the sarcophagus. "There is something of great importance in that coffin, but also of great importance. Markhet -- if you wish to leave, you are free to do so, but I MUST know what is inside!!" "Markhet was fairly certain that was going to happen regardless of her feelings," Says the gnome with a sigh, "Markhet will watch and wait and rescue the priest if necessary." ![]()
![]() Celena Ashram wrote: "What mean things?" "Did Markhet say mean?" the impish gnome asks, "What Markhet meant was unflatter . . . er, not nice . . . well you made Markhet mad when we first met, so Celena really brought it upon herself. It's hardly Markhet's fault. Anyways, point is Markhet is mostly sorry about all that, and she forgives you." ![]()
![]() "Markhet thinks," a tiny voice says from somewhere under the dead kraken, "That we shouldn't have even come into the room in the first place. It's nice to know this one is vindicated in her assessment. Also could someone lift these tentacles off of Markhet? She is small and doesn't think she can escape on her own. Mr Catington will probably pull her out but he grasps with teeth and claws and the pain of being rescued by her cat on top of the considerable crushing damage she already sustained might be a bit much for brave and wise Markhet at the moment." ![]()
![]() Full attacks Larrs! 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 121d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Markhet uses her mighty flame fist of justice: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 201d6 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 [edit]Awwwwww, no critical, I was liking the critical on this thing every round :D[/edit] ![]()
![]() Markhet continues to use her produce flame spell:
Meanwhile Larrs continues his full attacks:
Edit (another crit chance for Markhet!):
When the kraken bites at her Markhet shoves her tiny fist into it's face: "Open wide you some b!#%~!" ![]()
![]() Keeper of Forbidden Lore wrote: Lars was in the room last round, he attacked it. With its reach if you were mounted on him, you were in AoO range when ya threw it as it was a ranged attack. That's fine then, the way I was reading it I thought you seemed to think Markhet was casting a spell rather then activating a spell she'd already cast. The spell allows for the fire to be thrown or simply used as a touch attack so the grapple shouldn't affect the spell any. ![]()
![]() Just a quick FYI, Markhet cast her spell before Larrs charged into the room. It's already active. All Markhet is doing is using it. Also, (not that it's going to matter much) I believe that there is a penalty for grappling multiple targets. However between Markhet's size and her pitiful STR I don't think that penalty is going to matter. ![]()
![]() Larrs takes a full attack!
Meanwhile Markhet throws flames
[edit]Natural 20 on the flames, rolling to confirm

![]() "Pa-leeeeze," Markhet scoffs at N'Djamena's words, "There could be danger in every hollowed out stump. It doesn't mean Markhet should stick her tiny arm inside to find out. Sometimes discovering that there's a hornets nest isn't worth the pain of finding out. Markhet wonders if this discovery is going to sting us now." ![]()
![]() "Markhet wonders if this is the point were people say "you were right Markhet we should have never doubted you, you are as smart as you are adorable*" or not?" *Markhet deepens her voice at the quoted bit, clearly attempting to mimic one of the male PCs, but if that's N'Djamena or Kelden remains a mystery. ![]()
![]() "Well Markhet was the only one who saw through the illusion," the gnome reminds everyone, "And well she'd prefer to have people listen to her advice for a change, she is fairly certain that the others would be in dire straights by now if not for the aid of little Markhet and her lion Larrs." Larrs perks up upon hearing his name but clearly his master is talking about him and not to him and so the lion goes back to scanning the hall for something to eat. ![]()
![]() "Nethys? Like your god Nethys? Has he been talking to you? Markhet would never belittle a person's connection to his or her god but this one would remind the priest that signs and portents are fairly rare but visions and hallucinations could be symptoms of something else . . . including possession, magical suggestion, or even fungal infection of the brain. Perhaps next time N'Djamena is talking with Nethys the priest could ask a question that only Nethys would know, then we could limit the possible causes somewhat." ![]()
![]() Ayishidaj -bintel-Quivarashidj wrote: *Raises hand* Here. Still tying to figure out how Ayish is going to make all those jumps. She's too big to carry. I hope the extra ropes make a difference. Do you have the guidance cantrip? If not Markhet does. Cast that before every jump, take 10, use the guidance bonus, with your dex and guidance bonus you should be able to make it across. ![]()
![]() Kelden wrote: Maybe Larrs can come back and get Celena across? If so, that would leave N'Djamena and myself. One of us would get the Jump spell the other would have to try their luck... with 30 skill checks. Well Larrs would if he were a domesticated animal, but he's a lion, and as such he only tolerates the other PCs because Markhet seems to tolerate them. He's not likely to maul anyone without Markhet around but he's certainly not going to let one of you climb up onto his back without Markhet present :P we could recon and have Celena hitch a ride on Larrs when Markhet and Larrs go across for the first time though. The only danger is if they get into combat or something . . . I'm not sure if Celena has any ranks in ride, but I suspect that her chances would be better with a ride check then an acrobatics check. ![]()
![]() "Markhet can't be sure that the pillars aren't also trapped," the tiny druid says, "Markhet is fairly certain that the floor is trapped, so this one wonders why not trap the pillars as well? Markhet thinks we need to search these stairs to ensure that we're not overlooking something like a leaver or a switch. If we don't find anything then perhaps friend Vrealk can attempt to jump from pillar to pillar but this one cannot abide such recklessness . . . especially when she is aware of danger!" ![]()
![]() Before Vrealk can jump, Markhet notices him moving positioning himself to make the first leap and, unsure as to his plans, she practically has Larrs pounce on him. "Where you not listening to Markhet?" the gnome almost screams, "The treasure isn't real! It's an illusion! Markhet has seen though the illusion . . . if Vrealk were to jump from here Markhet thinks her friend goblin would fall into the green colored water underneath the pillars. Markhet can only assume that it is some some sort of giant trap. Please listen and trust tiny Markhet. She isn't formidable in many ways but despite her impish behavior she truly has a formidable mind. Markhet thinks jumping onto the pillars would be as bad as jumping into the treasure. It seems too good and obvious a place for a trap. This one thinks there must be another way or perhaps there is something we are missing elsewhere." Sadly Markhet doesn't have knowledge nature otherwise I'd try to identify the substance. It's likely green slime. Was their anything else on this staircase? Did we search it for leavers? I think we'd better try that before jumping to our doom. Also, as perviously determined when hogarth goes on vacation N'Djamena agrees with Markhet. Which explains the Afro toupee he is currently sporting. Markhet thought it was a good idea and N'Djamena agreed. ![]()
![]() "Kelden is wise," Markhet says, "The gold that N'Djamena tempted Markhet with is indeed an illusion. She can clearly see that. Below she detects some sort of greenish water. Markhet thinks it's some sort of trap and that the 'water' is not some simple algae ridden puddle. Everyone is fortunate that strong willed Markhet is in your group otherwise Markhet wouldn't have to theorize what really hides under the illusion." ![]()
![]() "Markhet is not fooled," the gnome druid says, "besides what would she do with money? Buy more pretty gnome slaves? That's . . . that is tempting now that Markhet mentions it . . . but no, two are more then enough for an honest druidic priestess like Markhet! Don't try to tempt me with your baubles N'Djamena. This one won't be fooled!" ![]()
![]() Ayishidaj -bintel-Quivarashidj wrote: Perhaps finding some where private so that the ladies may bath in peace? "Markhet don't know about baths," the gnome says as she quickly begins shedding armor in front of everyone, "Larrs isn't likely to join us as he doesn't like water for some reason. But Markhet will go for a swim." Unless stopped Markhet happily sheds the rest of her armor and clothing and goes for a dip in the stream. Larrs looks less then impressed. He goes as close to the water as he dares and watches Markhet with a concerned look on his face. ![]()
![]() "One day Ayish," Markhet says, "When Larrs is bigger, he could carry you and the tiny Markhet up the stairs. However right now Larrs is still a big teenager with big floppy feat and teeth too big for his head, but he is growing friend Ayish. He is growing!" Markhet points to the stairs and the lion quickly bounds to the top.
