Maybe others, buts lots of games and events planned.

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Hey guys I am back now after my long trip - I'd love to rejoin, let me know if that is still ok or if you'd rather leave things as they are.

Marchello

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Hey guys, very sorry that I have been MIA. Had some stuff go on that I won't get into, but again I am very sorry to have impacted gameplay. To make matters worse I will be going on an extended cruise and won't have internet service until like Aug 7. Totally understand if you want to drop me, its a huge gap. Would like to continue, but its not fair to ask you to go on with my absence. Again very sorry. If you do want to keep me around, even after the extended hiatus, that would be great, but no worries if not.

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Sorry, been crazy busy at work.

Stabilize: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (10) - 2 = 8

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

But even if I am healed ... I can't get up without AOO, can I cast disrupt undead prone without any penalty?

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Sorry if I screwed things up - I didn't see or understand your intent. At least you can't accuse me of metaing.

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Doh! What a rook move. Oh well. I guess his intense hatred of the undead will only build from this experience ... unless he ends up joining them. Could have/should have tried disrupt undead, oh well.

Marchello quietly plays the role of area rug ..

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

I think there is now room to do the following ...

Seeing an opening, Marchello dodges past his comrade into an open spot in front of the skeleton, he brings his mace down upon its bones in a viscous sweeping arc from overhead.

Attack w. Heavy Mace: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 2 = 5

But he is way overzealous and nearly trips over himself in the process.

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

To the extent that he can, Marchello will slip past Rogdar and get himself into attacking position, even if he has to be in the alcove opposite the skeleton, allowing him to come out of his alcove so that the three of them can get attacks in.

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

My added description was really just flavor - if and when it is my turn I will move and attack for my full action if possible. I have all sorts of bonuses against undead, can't wait.

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Seeing Rogdar rush in, he quickly follows behind him, raising his mace above is head in preparation for combat.

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Marchello follows along, waving his hand and extending several fingers in a series of patterns, mumbling something as he does. Casts guidance on Rogdar, then himself.

He then readies for anything, mace drawn and scans the tiny alcove as he moves through it after Rogdar.

Percpeption: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25 Technically guidance after this

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Marchello places a hand on Az'Avis, "We've got your back, you've shown you have ours, we'll get through this!"

He then looks to Rogdar, "Ready when you are mate, just a thought though for everyone - if something is in there, intent on coming out, maybe we should draw them out into the hall so we all have a chance to wack them, and it will restrict them in the doorway as well."

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Dang, I was just about to swirl some disrupt undead at that guy, good work guys.

Marchello steps into the room once the air has cleared and begins a search.

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Marchello marches up beside Rogdar, follows his lead in trying to hear something and looks down at his comrade, [b]"Ready when you are sir."[b/]

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Marchello crouches over the pile of bones on the floor and pokes them gently with his mace as he inspects them.

Knowledge (nature): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10
Keith S. wrote:

There is the pile of bloody bones and feathers, and some skeletons with odd heads in the wall niches. That is all you see to explore.

Do I see anything with my perception check?

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

"Well done all, Pharasma's work has been honored with your efforts."

Marchello moves over to the bones in the niches and the ones in the pile and looks for clues - what types of bones they may be, if they are recently left, etc.

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Marchello has no tolerance for the undead - his stomach begins to churn in a pit of anger and anxiety that flows through him as fury. He moves into the room, past Rogdar and Az'Avis (may take an AAO) and brings down his mace upon the abomination in a bid to crush it eerily exposed skull.

Assuming it is undead

Attack w. Mace w. Guidance: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 3 + 1 = 12
Damage w. Undead Slayer, Subject of Study Trait Bonuses: 1d8 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 1 + 1 = 10

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

I assume that the scroll was the little bit of magic that I saw?

Marchello joins Rogdar as they proceed to the next door.

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Marchello casts detect magic, seeing what shows up and then tries to discern what the magical origins may be if any.

Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 1 = 8

But he really can't seem to put things together enough to tell.

He then casts guidance on himself again.

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

"Hmmm ... maybe there is some type of magical entombment here, to keep things like new?"

"Maybe we should let the dead rest here and move on in search of signs of the missing bodies or who took them?"

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

I just realized that we are in two campaigns together - I am Elwyn in the other one.

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Marchello tries to identify the magic and to determine if there were some special purpose here to the room (other than just a standard tomb).

Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Knowledge (Religion): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

"What are we doing, leaving this alone and moving on or what? We are looking for the cause of the disruption right, if everything is order, do we move on? What do you all think?"

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Marchello nods and smiles at Rogdar, "Thanks Mate!"

He then cautiously enters the room, mace drawn. He takes it all in Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19 and will cast guidance on himself and detect magic on the figures.

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Marchello briefly listens at the door, readying to open it one the group is collected and in position.

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

if nothing ...

He casts guidance on himself after his check and has his mace in his hand slightly raised as he opens the door.

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Awesome - we have a great international group.

Az'Avis - you are close to Essen though ... I dream of a trip there.

Delphinia - love that area, grew up in Vancouver, BC and was looking at a job on Bainbridge Island last year - really wish I got it.

Knowledge Check from earlier

Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

...

Marchello shrugs his shoulders a bit and looks back at the group ... "Well, shall we?" he asks rhetorically and cautiously makes his way past the doorway towards the intersection, peering around the corner first before stepping into it.

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Marchello moves up beside Az'Avis and readies his mace, he casts Guidance on himself. "If it looks ok, I'll open it when we are all ready."

Since Marchello was near or beside Rogdar when he touched the runse - is it possible for him to use Knowledge (Arcana) to determine what might have happened to him?

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

The pace works for me. I am in 2 or 3 scenarios at a time and check in regularly. I like a moderate pace like we have. I was in a campaign that I left recently t hat had very strict posting requirements - 3 detailed posts a day at a minimum, and I felt it was more commitment than I wanted.

Paewyn get well fast! Delphinia, good luck moving.

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

"And I think we are about to get a life's worth of lessons out of this mission. What is it they say, what doesn't kill you?"

He sends back a wry smile to Luthor.

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Marchello is stumped as he inspects the statue, 'Must have skipped that chapter ...' he casts detect magic as well and trues to determine what the source or nature of it is.

Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 6 + 1 = 22

He then continues looking at the runes, trying to interpret them.

Knowlege (religion): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Marchello nods at Az'Avis as he begins his examination of the corridor, the statue and the sigil. He checks for traps as he passes but also for anything that might yield a clue to what is going on.

Perception - traps: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Perception - statue: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Perception - sigil/door: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22

When he stops at the statue and the sigil he ponders them, trying to recall anything he can about them from his studies.

Knowledge (Religion) Statue: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Knowledge (Religion) Sigil/Door: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

"The left door works for me."

Marchello will stand at the ready next to Paewyn wielding his heavy mace as the door opens, and will immediately peer into the hall/next room looking for threats.

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Marchello places a hand on Az'Avis' shoulder. "Glad you are all right man, sorry I couldn't get to you. I think it could have been much worse had it happened to another who was not as agile as yourself."

Marchello inspects the doors and the ornamentation, Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14, Knowledge (Religion): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

Sorry, don't have knowledge (history)

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Hearing and not seeing the melee around the winding stairs, and thinking that this thing has something to d with darkness, Marchello calls out, "If you are too far away to get at it try light, maybe its affected by light!"

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Marchello seeks to make some room on the stairs and descends, moving into the middle of the room.

His mace is drawn, ready to attack and he checks the room for additional threats or sources of light - a torch or lantern or something.

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21

"Get him down here so we can get that thing off him!"

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Marchello tries to get a better loks at what is going on, in particular, what it is that has a hold of Az'Avis and tries to see if he can recognize it from any of his studies - what is it, what are its weaknesses, etc.

Knowledge (Monster using Nature): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Not sure if nature is the right modifier here or if I don't get a bonus on the monster check.

'Not sure if a swing of my mace is the right solution here ...'

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

I see Marchello as a first or second line fighter with a few tricks, so works for me. Similarly, Marchello will be casting guidance on himself before he expects to perform an action. If he is exploring then he will be casting it every minute or so.

Does Guidance stack?

Marchello takes the gifts from Valenthe and bows, keeping his eyes locked on hers. "Thanks be to the blessings of Pharasma, I will not let you or the goddess down, you have my oath."

a few moments later ...

"I would be honored to take the lead, I've always had an eye for trouble." he says as he smiles, "Or trouble's always had an eye for me."

"Right, when we're all ready ..."

Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13 Again, if this stacks add another +1 ... and a dice roller biff right out of the gates, better to get it over with I guess

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Marchello nods as each of the party members introduce themselve and smiles warmly at the ladies as they do.

He leans over towards Luthor and replies, "I was wondering the same thing, I have no tolerance for the undead. They are a scourge that I have devoted my life to vanquishing. Nothing good ever comes from the vile things."

Marchello has a weeks rations and is ready to go when the others are. He spends the rest of the time reading and researching what he can about the temple and the Ossuary.

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

"Priestess, is there anything else that you can tell us about the missing, any clue to how they disappeared or who might want to do this?"

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Marchello, a tall, lean, yet muscular half-elf with dark, olive skin, dark, almost raven hair and leather armor dyed the color of midnight, with the slightest sheens of brown in the right light steps up. He bows slightly in reverence to the Pharasman Priestess as she enters. "It will be an honor to serve the goddess Pharasma and the church."

'I can't believe that I have such a calling, what divine intervention' he thinks to himself as he swells with intent.

Marchello tries to measure himself in the midst of his excitement as he addresses the group that clearly looks as though they do not relish the task "I have devoted my studies and my life's work in the servitude of Pharasma. What I lack in experience I promise to make up for in vigor. My training will afford us at least some advantage in this quest."

What luck, I have a Pharasman Undead Hunting Inquisitor for this scenario ... no pressure.

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Yep, sounds good to me. I started it with another GM but he had to drop the game shortly after we started, was a long while ago though so don't remember anything.

Inquisitor Lvl 1 HP 9/9 | AC14 T12 FF10 | CMD 14 | F:+2 R:+2 W:+6 | Init +2 | Perc: +10

Hey, thanks very much for having me on board, looking forward to playing with you all. Thanks GM for setting all of this up.

The Crypt works for me, I like the option of having a story arc in a PFS scenario.

I can play Marchello, an undead hunting Inquisitor or an Urban Ranger archer, prefer the Inquisitor if that works.

Would love to join - have two level 1 characters that could play - an Undead Hunting Inquisitor and an Urban Archer Ranger. Let me know.

Backstory:
Young Svala was raised around the forge of her father, a swordsmith of some renown in Halgrim. As she grew, Svala took to helping her father, serving as his apprentice. She also practiced with the blades they crafted, becoming quite skilled at wielding two blades together. Svala was still a girl but she was becoming torn between continuing to work with her father and seeking the adventure she imagined at the ends of her blades. A surprising new commission for her father solidified her dream.

Targard Fire-Mane returned to Halgrim with the riches he earned in Taldor, his reward for service in the Ulfen Guard. He wanted a custom sword, broad and easily wielded in one hand or two, and he came to Svala’s forge to have it made. Svala was fascinated immediately but she knew his request was beyond her own skill, and she was delighted to leave the work in the hands of her father. Targard could tell she was excited to hear the tales of his heroics and Svala listened intensely to his stories.

Svala was determined to be a hero like Targard. She would seek adventure and earn the glory, and one day hopefully she could join the Ulfen Guard. She wanted to return to her people with tales of her own, but she knew she needed to train more before she could set off. It would be another three years, her nineteenth, before she would be prepared but once set she quickly assembled her gear and boarded a ship destined for Cassomir and her future.
