So yes as the title states, i read in their entry in the bestiary that they can prepare certain sorcerer and wizard spells as Arcane spells, I'm curious to know which ones. i have a chance to play one with some exceptions like I'm going to be forced to be medium sized the entire time, no racial stat bonuses apparently and I gradually gain all my abilities, plus I have to pick a class as a gestalt to go with it. I'm leaning toward kinetcist with the wisdom based archetype psychokineticist. suggestions are welcomed.
If a Succubus use a Supernatural or Spell-like ability that emulates "Daze", does it exceed the limitations of the spell? ie can it effect more than 4 HD creatures? I was of the opinion that that they still function like the spell and thus in the example above, the succubus would fail if she used it on any creature with 5 or more HD.
Since im having trouble finding a on-going gaming group, and not really sure if DMing is my thing. I've decided to look into Solo adventures and playing by myself. To be honest it seems really awed, but maybe its something I could get into, but how does it work? I assume you have to be honest with yourself, but is there some outlining bigger difference that im not seeing when playing solo game? is there a resource for people who want to play solo adventures?
I've never seen the rules cover this but it seems super plausible considering its a real world feat. I can't help but think of the implications. Being a Bard or a Monk, or anyone with perform (sing), and just going harassing people with keen senses, or shattering wine glasses without using any actual magic or class features.

So does this work? Could I take Magical Lineage which reduces the effective spell level a chosen favorite spell when a metamagic feat has been applied to it by 1 to a minimum of +0? Then make a Wand out of said metamagicked spell? Example: I pick Favorite Spell Inflinct Moderate Wounds as my Magical Lineage feat, (dad was lich or something), then I take the feat Reach Spell, reach spell increase a spells level by +1 if improving the spells range by 1 step, or 2 if two steps ect ect, then I apply it to my Inflinct Moderatw Wounds spells then craft a Wand, is the cost of creating this wand that of a 2nd level spell or 3rd, I presume the spells range is close for example sakes, and thus 25ft + 5ft per two levels of the wands crafter level at the time of creation?

the feat allows you to imbue touch spells into your firearm and deliver them via ranged attack, it covers what happens with rays that fire multiple rays, but it doesn't cover what happens with touch spells that grant multiple charges like chill touch, or frostbite or elemental touch. Does each subsequent attack with the firearm grant a delivery of the spell in question or is it just one casting one charge when delivered via gun? So I guess my 2nd question is, does the standard action permit you to fire the weapon after the casting/imbuing occurs? Like when you cast a touch spell you are usually allowed a free touch attack on the same turn, or if you cast a ranged touch spell you usually fire the spell at the sametime, do either of those matter here with this particular situation? or is it cast then wait until next round to fire the gun/spell?
Do you fire in the same manner or is it altered? Is the damage the same damage for all creatures effected by the cone spread? ie 4d4 at 20th level? does the feat just not work for any gun that only fires in a cone? The blunderbuss has two options do I get to pick which type attack? Spell Cartridges does specifically mention bullets, and says each bullet does xd4's damage. So perhaps its only for bullet based options?
This thread is basically for thsoe of us who have either thought about how a spell or power works, and realized that within the context of real life looking in some of this stuff is hilarious. Example and True story. Back in 3.5 when the expanded psionics handbook came out, I decided to role a Psychic Warrior, i think we were around 8th or 9th level, I had bought a nice greatsword (my personal favorite weapon), and during the course of the game a monster or something sundered my greatsword, the DM was feeling pretty smug at moment, so on my next turn I used a power that I just so happened to have called "Call Weaponary", now originally I had got in for the off chance that i needed a ranged weapon, never thinking i'd need it for the express purpose of replacing my primary weapon. So I call forth another +1 greatsword, and the DM is like, "What the hell is that?! How?" I'm like "Call Weaponary says I can do this." thats when another player named Mike, chimed in, "Some where in the multiverse a Fighter who was charging in for an attack just realized his sword is now missing." We all shared a hearty laugh over that, and finished that particular encounter within the next few rounds. ^
at a glance it seems like this should work with either class.. but would the special weapon properties from the arcana pool be applicable to a firearm? In the case of the bladebound anything in the class prevent the class features like spellstrike not work with it? I assume ranged spellstrike would still work normally. I'm curious if using Spell Cartridge + Spellstrike has any limitations that i should know about before hand. Also if im using spell cartridge i assume i don't actually have to reload anything since im shooting magic bullets, so since i dont have to reload, and assuming spellstrike works with the gun and confers it on to the bullets, then does that mean if i cast frostbite or some other spell that allows for multiple touch attacks, i can just keep making triggering the spell on each shot until the charges for the spell runs out, while still getting the full effect of spell cartridge?
and in relation qualify me for feats that require arcane strike, or arcane caster level? Example: Say I want to be a Oracle, but I want to take Arcane Strike. Arcane Strike says you need to be able to cast arcane spells. Does taking a trait like Magical Talent where in which I pick a 0 level arcane spell as a spell-like ability count for this prerequisite, or does the fact that its a spell-like ability disqualify me for it?
determining the effects of a spell? When I see Caster Level Checks, I usually think about overcoming SR, or using Dispel Magic. However I've come to accept that gathering opinions from others helps. So yeah would this ability of the magician bard archetype make me cast say Fireball as a 9th level caster as oppose to a 7th level caster?
What's the caster level for the effect that you effectively cast using a spell completion or spell trigger item? My initial thoughts is that it's based on the items caster level, ie if you use a cleric scroll of cure moderate wounds and its minimum caster level is 3, then the spell when you use this feature is cast as a 3rd level caster.
Does a Dragon Mystery Oracle with the Dragon Wings revelation qualify for Flyby attack? If she does and a DM allows it, does this form of attacking and moving provoke Aoos? I should ask here to, but what about Claws of the Dragon and Multiattack, if I have a bite attack from my oracle curse and the claws from my mystery, do i qualify for multiattack?
So this phone app called Pathbuilder, it list a trait i can't find on the psrd called "Divine Arcana", it's a Race Trait for humans with a "Faction" requirement.. I don't know what the later requirement is.. as I don't own the source book, can someone explain that to me? Also How to optimize it, it says you can pick from good descriptor spell from the druid or cleric spell list and add it to your arcane spells known or spell book. What would be some suggestions of a good spell to use for this? It apparently can be any spell of any spell level barring that it has the good descriptor, and it gets transfered on a level per level exchange, or a 1 for 1, even though I can't obviously cast 9th level spells yet, and would have to wait until i could for it to matter.
In truth I have a ton of question regarding Kineticist. However I'll start with this question, and contain further questions to this thread. If I'm allowed to use kineticist in the campaign at all, I liked the Overwhelming Soul archetype, So I want to use that. Anyway if I wanted to telekintically fly about, it seems like Telekinetic Haul would allow me to do just that, am I wrong, is Self Tk better some how?
I'm curious how Dragon Disciple works with a Blood Rager with the Draconic Bloodline. How does Blood of Dragons work with Bloodrager? Will the bloodrager get to stack his bloodrager levels with the PrC to determine what abilities he has? Claws from the Bloodrager class are always out, so does that mean bite of the Dragon is going to be always active? Will the Bloodragers claws grow according to the bloodrager class feature or the PrC Blood of Dragons feature as one progresses faster than the other. Several other abilities come faster thanks to the PrC than the Bloodrager class so im curious which is also better in the long run? I did a quick search and saw that this very question has been asked before 5 years ago, wondered if any new rulings have come along.
Was thinking about this idea after my DM mentioned his group needed a skill monkey, and that the only other healer in the group was a psuedo healer (witch with a bent on summoning.) .... So I figured might as well look into a skill monkeyish type healer... came up with the idea of ninja oracle.. Several mysterious seem to gel well with the ninja, including Shadow, Lore, Reaper, and Intrigue. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
If so could a Wizard or Sorcerers rays be used as attacks in conjunction with Martial Maneuvers? On the one hand reading how psionics works with certain disciplines like Sleeping Goddess, I figured they must. My thoughts are so long as the attack requires a attack roll then the ycan be used with martial maneuvers. on the other hand if a spell requires a standard action, and a maneuver says its 1 standard action can be they be used at the same time? The Warlock's Mystic Bolts are unique in that they function like weapons in that you can fire as many mystic bolts as you can make attacks in a round, they don't exist until you are about to attack and thus im pretty sure you can use them with martial maneuvers. Any help would be appreciated.
Wisdom or Constitution? I'm making a Dwarf who has good fort and will saves from her class but her reflex saves suck. I have a 12 dex in her build so far, but thats not enough. I figure even with Lightning Reflexes and Steel Soul, she'd need some extra umph to make reflex saves against the occassional lightning bolt or fireball.
I rarely do the specific deity worship, preferring to claim my divine talents are a result of just being chosen by a particular set of deities that match my alignment of beliefs as the fluffy text suggest but I was curious if I was making a particularly heavily themed Dragon mystery Oracle, who shared at least one aspect of Tiamats alignment, and a strong desire for the destruction, and found that strength in the knowledge that even dragons of all kinds feared the mother of their kind as a source of strength would that be a good enough reason to claim to be her chosen?
a DM for a online game im joining soon, permits any race up to RP 17. I've asked him if Templates are allowed but he hasn't responded to that question yet, however I got to wondering how does Templates factor into Racial Points. Like if using his rules for race how many RP would a Half Dragon Drow be? A standard drow is RP 14.
Does this work? If I'm a Kensai and I pick Unarmed Strike, do I count as having improved unarmed strike for the purpose of not provoking a AoO when I punch someone? Can I apply my Arcane Enhancement Bonus to my Unarmed Strikes? Including The Enchantments like Flaming? Paladin's have a similar ability, would it allow them to empower their fist if they chose to use unarmed attacks?
This is not a "I got you" post, but my DM used this creature tonight, and i had a bit of a concern when he said the creature attacked with all it's heads or even the maximum number of heads based on his dex on a AOO intentionally provoked by my Dragon, who flew past the creature in order to get to a more open space. My understanding of AOO's might be misconstrued, but I was under the impression that even with Combat Reflexes and a high dex you can't take more than 1 attack of opportunity against a single creature, even if you had the ability to make more than one attack as such is the case of the hydra and it's 12 heads. I looked at the creature when I got home couldn't find anything in it's entry that made an exception to this rule, and didn't see anything in Combat Reflexes?(The example of snap shot and AOO's was confusing to me and wasn't directly answering my question.)
1.) Range increment, it says under advanced firearms that they resolve against touch AC so long as the target is within the first five increments, if a double barrel shotgun has a range increment of 20ft does that mean so long as the target is within 100ft it resolves against touch AC? If so do i have penalties from the range increment being beyond 20ft? 2.) Double Barrel Shotguns have the shatter quality, so does that mean they to resolve against touch AC within the first five increments? So it's a 100ft Cone? or a 15ft cone as per most 3.) I'm confused about the metal cartridges, how many bullets does each cartridge hold? How many pellets does each one hold? If I buy 60 bullets, and 60 pellets(2 handfuls), and I have 10 metal cartridges how does that divvy up? 4.) The double barrel shotgun has a special feature where you can fire 2 shots one from each barrel at the same time as a standard action with a -4 to the attack roll. Do you still get the rest of your attacks if you have a high enough BAB for additional attacks or have another ability that allows for a 2nd attack like rapid shot, or manyshot?
1/6 increases the oracle level for a selected revelation, ie Form of the Dragon works as a 14th level ability by 12th level, or would he have to wait until he has the revelation in order to add the favored class bonus. The later makes it a terrible option for anything that comes 9th level and beyond.
These are two revelations found in the nature and lunar mysteries, both entries say "This animal functions as a druid’s animal companion, using your oracle level as your effective druid level." But does that strictly allow me to qualify them for things that require you to have an animal companions? Specifically, http://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/racial-feats/celestial-servant-aasimar/ This feat would change them into a magical beast, which in turns opens up more feat options in my DM's game that might be interesting to me.
I was looking at the flame mystery of the oracle, and as i looked it over i thought to compare it to some of the more recent mysteries, like Dragon, and this is just my opinion but the revelations between the two are uneven with the Dragon Mystery offering much more valuable offensive capabilities as well as utility ones. Both mysteries are more so offensive in terms of their revelations so i thought it was a fair comparison. Does anyone else think there is some validity to this?
In that abilities description it says, " Whenever he casts form of the dragon, he must assume the form of a dragon of the same type as his bloodline." Do they mean with the spell-like ability, or do they mean my actual spell as well as my spell-like ability? I picked an Umbral Dragon so I guess my form of the Dragon Spell is now going to be Form of the Exotic Dragon?
The book seems to contradict itself to me, the first few pages where they show the new subtypes seems to suggest that that they do count toward obtaining feats that list the related type as a prerequisite, but when you read under heritage feats in the feat section it seems to suggest that it doesn't.
