Once there was a Taldan family of the Old Blood... so old No one is sure when the family was founded, or given their titles. However, this once proud family had fallen far, as they were devout followers of the god Aroden. First, as The Last Azlanti has betrayed Taldor by following those secessionist Chelaxians to their new empire, and more when he allegedly died.
The Landros family remained true, and swore that their patron yet lived, though this earned them nothing but scoffing and cold shoulders after a few decades.
Then the first of their children entered the Pathfinder Society in hopes of earning enough to buy back their lands and patronage. Magnus was always a little confused, not a surprise coming from and old bearded family as his. Out of necessity he turned to Abadar for help, and he was accepted as paladin by the Lord of the First Vault. He never forgave himself, though for not being strong enough in his faith to receive the blessing of Aroden.
"You enemy lies dead upon the battlefield, and your lance has been recovered. We have taken his cohorts prisoner, to stand trial." Magnus says, presenting the lance to Nashota.
Magnus looks over to Grigorii with more than a little respect. While he doesn't agree with his tactics, he believes that it will be effective. He's heard of the 'good cop, bad cop' routine, and is gladdened that he gets to play the 'Good Guy' today, even though his armor is currently splattered with the remains of the late leader of these men.
He then looks to the axebeak, and wonders... 'Can I ride this thing? That would be pretty awesome, actually!'
He then remembers, that with his heavy armor and minimal training, he isn't actually a very good rider.
"Consortium? As in Aspis Consortium. You people really should have thought about a better path for your lives.
"Now, let's get going. Really, you would rather come with us, peacefully, than any other option. I promise you will be safe with us, and that you will face a fair trial."
Magnus looks at the scouts, and considers their words. "We can agree to that, save that you will come with us for you to offer your apologies, and penance, to the centaurs. You have done them a great wrong, and they have the right to their justice. I will give a good word for you, assuming that you have shown us all of your late master's treasure troves, and swear by whatever god you serve that you shall never do banditry again."
sense motive for their response:1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26
"We shall accept your surrender, lay down your arms" Magnus states as the scouts surrender. He lays hands upon himself, and then picks up the lance. The bird he forgives, for having to follow an evil master was not its choice.
Magnus will step up to Urso, yelling, "You have no honor, you foul bandit!" That final word from the Paladin's mouth seems like the worst possible curse he could utter, that he is one who preys on civilization. Once again, he is overcome in holy fervor, bringing down the wrath if the Protector of Trade upon the bandits body.
His Taldan steel cuts deep, as he swings again, hoping to end this fight quickly. If the bandit drops, he will finish his attacks against the bird. If he is not evil, or the bird isn't, remove he final 2d6 and the +6 to hit, and +11 damage.
At sight of the camp, as a precaution, Magnus charges his sword with the power of Abadar, since if it doesn't work, he can always do it again later.
"Yes, I think we should. We are peaceful people, and they should understand that."
Without another thought, he starts walking forward. However, if he sees an axebeak, his peaceful thought will change...
When the axebeak is spotted by Magnus
"Urso! You villain! I call you out to single combat! My name is Sir Magnus Landros, of the Pathfinder Society, and I act in the name of the Kortos centaurs that you have preyed upon"
Magnus hears the words of he centaur, and realized what a wasteful act he had done. True, he had just thrown the drakes heads over the side, as a signal to others that they were not welcome there anymore, but perhaps this act was more one of rage than of civilization.
Magnus takes a step to get a clear shot. "Get out of there, let it come down to me!" he yells. In the meantime, he fires his bow a few times. He also accepts the rage, in case he hits, as his bow is adaptive.
"aCome fight me, you foul beast! You have met you betters, now let us end this!" he yells at the top of his lungs, clanging his bow against his breastplate.
Not wanting to waste a valuable potion, Magnus calmly pulls his darkwood bow. He once more calls upon the power of Adadar to smite the dragon, though he knows not whether it is evil or not. He pulls back, not accepting the rage, to fire a single shot at the thing (due to size, no precise needed).
fair enough I guess. Note, under bluff, there is an increased DC based on the impossibleness of the check. I'd say a bark might just be one of those +20 DCs?
"Grigorii, if you would be so inclined, would you use your magic to give my arms and armor the same shine that you gave to the wonderful shield of yours? A Taldan relic, from the looks of it, if I am not mistaken?' Magnus asks. "Oh, and to be sure, I would prefer the clean and shiny work you did on Glorymane, not the ... decoration... you added to your mail."
Magnus finally realizes how he has been hurt, and then looks around to see if anyone else needs healing. Figuring at least a few of his teammates are hurt, he gathers them around, and channels healing energies.
channel:6d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 4, 1, 3, 2) = 16
He will then start healing himself.
LoH:8d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 2, 2, 1, 5, 1, 6) = 26
He asks, "Is everyone all healed up? Who needs healing?"
Please post in character asking for healing if you are still wounded.
Once everyone is healed up, he will recover three charges he used.
Magnus lets his fury pass, but does check each body to make sure that they are truly dead. Calmly, coldly, he cuts the heads off of the drakes (if they are still attacked after his assault). He will check the bodies for any items they may have eaten, embedded in their scales, etc., and then throws them over the side of the cliff. Of the harpies, after he makes sure that they will bother no other travelers, he checks them for gear, and arranges them around the corpse of their queen, making sure that their poses are more... ladylike... than any they would have ever been in during their lives (or so he reckons).
Once done with that gruesome task, he will search for evidence of a lair. That, and ask Pai if he has any way to clean the filth off of him.
Magnus sees Azul going after his supposed ally, which doesn't help his situation in the least. Going with his track record of killing dragons, he ignores the harpy, and charges the drake. "FOR TALDOR!!" he screams, calling upon the power of The Judge of the Gods. "I JUDGE YOU EVIL, AND FOR THAT YOU WILL DIE!!!"
AC 23 for the Harpy's AoO, AC 28 vs the drake's AoO
Magnus takes the freezing blast from the drake, as he accepts the rage song once more. He flies forward, drawing his falchion, letting go of Pai as soon as they are over land. "Foul beast, destroyer, feel the wrath of the Lord of the First Vault, as your kind have stolen from many, you will never steal again!" (Smite evil vs red)
He then swings his enchanted and enhanced blade at the red drake.

Magnus REALLY doesn't like dragons.
"Azul, you are next!"
AC30 against red, if it lived, or if it somehow had an AoO
If Magnus is hit, and goes to negative HP:
He casts, as an immediate action, heroes defiance.
LoH:9d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 4, 1, 5, 1, 2, 1, 4) = 26
If Magnus gets an AOO:
+3 Keen, Holy, Rage, PA, Haste:1d20 + 23 ⇒ (7) + 23 = 30damage:2d4 + 2d6 + 23 ⇒ (4, 4) + (6, 3) + 23 = 40If against red, then +6 more to hit, +11 more damage
That works for me, but we will need to know how high.
"So, guys, if we are going to do this, perhaps we should cast some of our buffing spells? Good hope or heroism might be good, to make it harder for us to be compelled by the harpy's songs. Also, perhaps Grigorii could use his... lovely... songs to counter those of the harpies when they start singing. I have heard that many bards can do that."
"The next question is, how are the rest of you going to make your way up? That doesn't look like a fun climb. I will offer my rope, if that will help."
"Friend Centaurs, it warms my heart to see that you are in a better mood today. I can only assume it is due to the reuniting of your brethren to your village." He puzzles for a moment, and asks, "No, what other tasks did we agree to do for you? Oh, and you wouldn't happen to have any potions of fly that I could buy, do you?"
Once again Magnus is baffled by the bluster of the ifrit, but is interrupted from his channeling into the meditation crystals by his comments of being hurt. That, he understood, but the other things he was supposed to understand about what Vendel meant, he wasn't so sure. "Well, yes, a proper donation would be in order."
@Vendel, there actually is a reason.
That is, filling the meditation crystals, which take a channel each to fill... but, I can certainly be one or two short if we need it. We've been lucky so far, and I haven't had to use a LOT of healing, and this is a multiple day adventure...
Magnus looks to Vendel, and says, "I can heal you, friend. Abadar provides, but perhaps a proper donation next time you are by one of his temples would be proper as well." He channels to get everyone, including the centaurs.
Channel:6d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 6, 5, 3, 1) = 22
He will gen recharge himself, and then all seven of his meditation crystals, banking them for future healing. Unless someone is dramatically still hurt after the channel.
"I think we can make our way out... we just have to reverse the steps we took, right?" Magnus says, as he pulls in the power of his god to heal the centaur once more.
LoH:8d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 6, 6, 4, 1, 6, 4) = 35Wow, that's a MUCH better roll!
He will then take 2 minutes to meditate, and recover the uses of Lay on Hands.
"Talias, it is good to meet you. I am Sir Magnus Landros of the Pathfinder Society. We just came from some of your friends, having freed them from the bull-men. Are you in need of additional healing?"
Magnus looks to see Vendel going all ape-shit on the babau, shrugs, and walks over to see the centaur. Letting go of his weapon with one hand, he calls upon the power of Abadar, infusing his hand with healing power. He then touches the centaur, driving the power into him.

"Will do, little fox. You make sure that the centaur is alive. Check, please. I can save him either way, but it is easier if he is alive."
Magnus then turns to the demon. "You, I do not give a choice to. You are evil, destructive, and will destroy everything Taldor has worked for if allowed to reign free. Try and destroy me, demon, for I shall weigh your sins on the scales of the First Vault."
Taking full advantage of the haste, and promising the injured centaur that he will be back, Magnus moves around to flank the red babau. He calls forth, once more, the power and blessing of Abadar, as he smites the fell demon.

Embracing the rage once more, Magnus moves forward, ready to destroy the green babau. Hatred of the demons is in his head, as he swings his falchion mightily. "FOR TALDOR!!!"
Surprise round, if i understand correctly...
Magnus steps forward a bit, and calls upon his guiding angel to boost the power of his weapon. (Divine Bond +3, 11 mins. Holy and Keen are what he adds. Weapon is already +3, so handles the cold iron just fine, but with holy it won't matter)"Abadar, Lord of the First Vault, your humble servant asks for assistance in ridding this land of the foul chaotic beasts that have come here!" His falchion glows brightly in a golden light, as the power of his deity infuses it in holy terror.
@GM Hmm -- as a reminder, Magnus has Step Up, in case it comes into play, he will always use the feat at the soonest opportunity (The first time an enemy tries to 5' step back)
"I am thinking I might want to pick up a wand of identify, 'cause it seems like we don't always figure out what the things we find are. Plus, I cannot cast detect magic at will..."
Thinking about that, Magnus uses his detect evil and starts scanning the room.
"Of course we can, Hanor. It would be our honor to save your fellows. Would you prefer to remain here, while we investigate further?" replies Magnus. He thinks a moment, "And should the worst have happened, perhaps we would still have time to return Dahrunn Firehorn from the Boneyard, Abadar willing. How long ago was he taken there?"
So, here's a question, or rather a few statements then a question.
On pg 301 we have different light categories defined, but not how they interplay.
So does it work like pf1 where you have an area of bright, then the same
as dim, then dark? Or does it just drop off from bright to dark? (which makes less sense and makes low light vision work strangely)

So does the Bolt Ace Gunslinger Archetype really get a free firearm, exotic proficiency feat, and gunsmithing on an archetype built solely to use crossbows?
Shouldn't you lose Gunsmithing, and the Exotic Firearm Feat in order to maybe pick feats from a list, like Point Blank Shot, Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Some crossbow), and Rapid Reload to replace those and make the character a little more focused?
