The vrock demon that was nearly destroyed by the Crusaders of the Catacombs during one of their earlier forays into Catacombs attends the Black Sabbath at Blocksberg on Walpurgisnacht as well, performing his dance of ruin in memory of Faithcarcas, his less lucky broodmate...

Abyssal: GGRRROOOOOKKK!!! POOR FAITHCARCAS!! HE SUCCUMBED TO HIS WOUNDS FROM BATTLING THOSE CRUSADERS OF THE CATACOMBS NOT LONG AFTER HE SUMMONED ME TO SAVE HIS GREASY TAIL!! CRAW! CRAW! CRAW! I COULDN'T SAVE HIM FROM THOSE MIGHTY HEROES, BUT I, UM, GAVE THEM WHAT FOR BEFORE THEY RAN OFF WITH THEIR TAIL BETWEEN THEIR LEGS!! CRAW! CRAW! CRAAAWWW!!!

Lucius too strikes hard at the fleeing demon. "Die, foul beast!"

The vrock narrowly evades Cardinal Lucius’ magic blade as it launches into the air over the Crusaders’ heads, up near the twenty-foot-high ceiling, where it vanishes in a foul-smelling black cloud!

*BAMF!!*

SSSKKRRREEEAAAGGGHH!!!

The Fox cried out in pain as the vrock slashed him, but he saw his distraction worked! And when the vrock tries to flee, he does his best to hit it for real.

Zag, don't forget to add 2 from flanking AND 2 from the aid another I did on my turn.

The vrock dives away too swiftly, and Fox’s dagger falls short of striking...

Reeling from the painful wounds dealt by Zagathoth and Cardinal Lucius, the summoned vrock furiously beats its wings, diving southward down the stairway into darkness...

...provoking AoOs from Cardinal Lucius, Ogon Fox, and Zagathoth...

...where it casts greater teleport to flee the battle!

Boy am I glad he's on our side, the Fox thinks as he watches Zagathoth carve bloody canyons into the flesh of the vrock. He moves behind the demon to flank with Zagathoth provoking at least one attack of opportunity to get there and makes a stabbing motion with his dagger--but it is only a distraction to help Zagathoth land his next blow.

AoO claw 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19 strikes Fox for 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (5, 6) + 5 = 16 damage...

As Fox moved close to flank with Zagathoth, the vrock lashed out with its claw and raked his back!

YYYAAAAAARRRKKKK!!!!

The vrock screeches in pain as Cardinal Lucius opens another gash in its evil hide! It dodged Lucius’ upswing...

Down 62 damage...

Pull it together, Maggotwing!... This angry little orc is tearing you new ones all over the place, and you lose focus over a Little Fox and his pig-sticker!? You’re going to wind up a quasit or a dretch like your bird-brained brother, Faithcarcass!... Curse you, brother! You dragged me into this mess! I’ll be damned (oh, wait...) I’ll be a bloody fool if I’m going to stick around and let this little green murderer turn me back into a dretch! It’s taken centuries to become a vrock, dammit!!

Distracted momentarily by Fox’s feint, the vrock opens its defenses to the snarling Zagathoth and his deadly Doomcrescent!

Either oblivious to the fox's words or too fixated on his work to reply, Zagathoth steps in on the newly arrived demon and continues to hack away...

reminder: my sword has been blessed and bypasses its DR

AAAAAAAARRRRGHHH!!! UUURRRRRKKK!!!

Reeling from Zagathoth’s ferocious assault, reeking black ichor spraying from two deep gashes in its abdomen, the summoned vrock begins to fear that it will meet the same fate as its brother!

Down 55 damage total...

grease, burn 1 AP to increase dc. DC 19 reflex

Reflex save 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20 succeeds...

In Abyssal: Your Christ was only one of many magicians and holy men calling themselves the Son of God, the Messiah! He just got lucky, and it was His cult that flourished because Constantine had a hallucination of a cross in the sky after receiving a brain-damaging blow to his noggin! So, suck on that for a wee while, before I gobble your flesh and spit out your bones!

Round 3: The vrock emits a stunning screech! All within 30 feet (that’s everybody) roll a DC 21 Fortitude save, failure means you are stunned for 1 round!

SKA-RRREEEEEEEEEEEEEETTTCCHHHHH!!!!

Cardinal Lucius strides confidently to the head of the stairway before swinging his humming sword in a mighty arc at the newly summoned Vrock!

"The Lord protects me Demon! Nothing you say will change that!"

Swift action: Change Judgement to 'Protection', AC is currently 19. If Faithcarcass hits him, Lucius will uses Determination to protect himself.

The Cardinal's humming blade slices into the newly summoned vrock's left thigh! The demon hisses in pain! TTSSSSSSSTT!!!

Takes 6 damage after DR...

...but the newly summoned vrock demon, “Maggotwing”, blocks the descending stairway!

As the second vrock fully materializes, it crows to the first in Abyssal: You've summoned me to join you for supper, my brother! Then, noting the black, stinking ichor dripping from the summoning vrock's wounds, it adds: Or perchance, to save your diseased hide from certain slaughter! Who ARE these mortals!? They'd better not be those Lucky Fools we've been warned of, the ones even Duke Mephistopheles feared to attack in his own dungeon! If we get destroyed and return to the Abyss as quasits, I swear to Pazuzu, I'll feed you to the barlguras!!

Maggotwing scrutinizes the Crusaders with apprehension uncharacteristic to greater demons...
