Luc looks in disgust at the marsh water. "Yeah, you too can check out the corpse and let us know what you find there. I'll stay on dry land. No need to ruin my nice boots. That water does look rancid. It may even have leeches."

Luc has a grand ole day reading fascinating stories about ghosts and undead in Otari. However, after a day of reading and research, he is eager to put the theory into practice. "That blue glow does look ominous. I think we should pay the ruins a visit and investigate. If nothing ominous is around, we can come back and you guys can continue your research, but the place at least merits a visit to make sure there is no imminent threat. Besides, I am itching for some combat."

Luc nods his head. "I also think we should start our delving activities bright and early tomorrow to allow our weapon modifications to take place. In the meantime, I have to stop by the guard post and advise them that I may be absent a few days. Hopefully, Wrin will corroborate to my boss my activities so I may be granted a leave of absence. Also, since we're going to the library, I would like to brush up on the some undead lore, especially ghosts and vampires. I find it fascinating."

Luc frowns. Bowing with a flourish is my schtick! The 6' tall, dark-haired, human warrior, puffs up his chest. "Well met, Kazzi. I've seen you around but never formally introduced myself. Luc Theriot, (French pronunciation), local guard of this town and now famous hero it appears." Pic in profile, except he wears a chain shirt.

Luc glares at Carman for flirting with Seren, but realizing she is just playing him, he calms a little. He clears this throat as Seren takes Carman's hand. "Now that you're done flirting Rajani, I've got similar business. Need the rune from this dagger transferred to this main-gauche. I'll also pay the 10% fee."

Luc spends the time necessary at the festival to celebrate the harvest, receive the mayor's gold, and wish the town the best for the future. Wrin's words resonate in his mind. He had never had much contact with the elven occultist before. He wondered why their services were needed. He would soon find out.

After a couple of hours, Luc excuses himself and heads home. He had found his experiences in the crypt, particularly with the undead fascinating. He had to study and learn more. He would stop by the Dawnflower Library and the local bookstore, Odd Stories, the next day and look for some books on the subject. He would also visit someone who could transfer the magical rune from his dagger to his main-gauche, perhaps at the Blades for Glades. He also had to pass by and see Wrin. He had a busy day.

Before... "I agree, Marietta should heal Dmira and we should reunite her with her brother Roldare. Now, I do not know enough about their prior knowledge, if they knew their companion was a necromancer, if they know that he was coming to raise corpses, or if they thought he was just a wizard, and he turned on them. The ghost is gone and I'm not a lawman. I say, we let them leave, while we make our way back to Otari. We still have to deliver this Flame back to the town for the Winter Solstice celebration. I am fine with Kam taking the shield and holding the magical bag. I would like the longsword and a healing potion."

We head upstairs and alert Roldare that his sister is safe and sound, which she can confirm orally. After that, we head back to town, with some evidence of the villagers' demise from the upper level to show the mayor.

GM, I went another route. I retrained Nature to Religion and took the Undead Slayer dedication (should be helpful in this AP). I hope that's allowed. My character is updated to 2nd level. From the treasure we just found, Luc took the +1 longsword and 1 potion of healing. I look forward to getting back to Otari so we can meet new players.

GM, I did not know we were playing with the free archetype. I want to take Dual Weapon Warrior, which gives me Double Slice. Can I retrain Double Slice, which I already have, to another class feat?

I agree, it would have been anticlimactic to die to the archers! That was challenging and I must admit the description of the critical on me was bad-ass, so I didn't mind it all. Thankfully, Seren saved our bacon! Will review and level up.

Before when Seren healed him... Luc opens his eyes, feeling the pain, and he sees the elf before him. "My angel....", he manages spit out before pain in his stomach comes back to him. "Bastard put his sword through me!"

Pulled back to reality, Luc grabs his sword and struggles to get up and he strides over to the skeletal archer.

Luc parries the skeletal champion's blow, as a look of dread comes upon seeing the blue flame in the warrior's sockets. This is for my life. Do not panic, this is what you trained for! He looks to his side and sees Seren. Do it for her! Mustering courage from deep inside, Luc grips his magically enhanced longsword, moves to flank the enemy, and strikes at the champion, trying to strike around his shield.

"Those are all valid questions, Seren. Hopefully, there are some answers behind those doors. However, it also feels like our last challenge is behind those doors. We need to prepare ourselves for a tough battle. Perhaps that undead leader who stalks these halls in mail that Roldare mentioned."

I think we need to buff. If it's ok with the party, Marietta will cast Bless, valid for 1 minute (10 rounds). Kelri will cast magic weapon on Luc's longsword, also valid for 1 minute. Then we move in.

When the creature falls... "Woo hoo! That big statue was scary and those shield bashes hurt!"

When Seren is binding his wounds.. "Ya know dear, if you wanted to touch my muscles, all you had to do was ask...besides your bedside manner is so much nicer than Kam's. He's too quiet for me."

After the healing... "You'll fall for me, Seren, watch my words." Looking back at the rest of the party, after they've found their treasures, "Looks like we're ready to go. Not tired at all, let's keep going."

Both Kelri and Marietta still have their 1st level spells, so if they can go nuclear for one big fight, if needed.

Luc happily pulls himself out of the pool. "Well, that was refreshing. Glad there were no creatures inside there." He spends a couple of minutes trying to dry his clothes or wring them at least. He takes off his armor and shirt and exposes his muscular physique to Seren to see if she notices. He is not disappointed if she doesn't. Afterward, he dresses himself again with his armor.

"I like your logic, Seren. After you, dear." SE it is.

Floating in the pool, Luc will speak to the party, "How about this? I dive down and grab 5 keys at a time. Come back up. I give the keys to Kelri and she takes them outside the room and casts detect magic on them. If the set of keys detects as magical, we try them out until one of the 5 opens the door. If not, I continue bobbing for keys. Worse case, it takes 20 tries to find the key, assuming I am really unlucky. Each trip is about 30 seconds, so in 10 minutes, we should find the key, at worst case."

Luc puts the dagger with the light spell on his belt, since he no longer needs it to defend himself, and with both hands free, picks up 5 keys from the pool floor and implements the plan.

I echo Seren, I'm having a blast playing PF2e. Btw, was that a wight or some other level draining creature that we just fought? +12 to hit was crazy! Glad that you rolled so poorly or that last fight may have been different.

Before... Luc smiles, "Arcane dagger? Of course. Thanks, Seren!" Luc winks at the elven lass and stores his old dagger away and checks the weight and balance of the new one. He asks Kelri to switch the Light spell from the old dagger to the new one.

Now... Luc was about to move on with Kamau, when Seren mentions seeing something at the bottom of the pool. "Hmmm, interesting. I guess I am going for a swim." Luc tests the temperature of the pool and climbs in, dagger with light spell in hand, since it can be used as a piercing weapon. He then attempts to swim to the bottom of the pool.

We can't go further south from the previous corridor, and there was a door leading south from the room, right? We have no choice but attack it, since we can't reason with it."

Luc moves the party away from Roldare and looks at Seren, "I understand that you were looking out for us, and I appreciate it. But he was not a threat, other than with the crossbow, which we knew he had loaded before going into the room. He was just a guy scared out of his mind. Imagine seeing your friends killed by undead. That's all. But let's proceed, ladies first." Luc motions Seren down the corridor.

"I'm Luc, that's Seren, Kamau, Keldri, and Marietta. We will find your sister and bring her back to you. In the meantime, stay here and close the door. There are rations there to keep you fed. To remember it's us, we will knock 3 times, then twice, and then once. Stay safe."

Luc motions the party over, "In his state of mind, I doubt we can glean any more valuable information from him. And anything he did tell us; we would have to take with a grain of salt. I say we move on and explore the western door. Kamau, are you ready to proceed? You still wounded? We just found 2 healing potions, if you need to take them."

Ready to move on.

Now, we're getting somewhere. "Yes, of course. What is your name? How did you get to be here?" Luc will offer the man his outstretched hand to help him off the floor. Luc calls to Marietta, "Can you heal this man here with your kit?" I am assuming the cleric is still around. If not, please ignore my question.
