Frankly, I have no idea. He has not posted at all since thursday. Nobody in this game has, but most folks in his King Arthur Game has.

He's probably not dead, and this very well might still be happening, but I have no idea.

Quick update gang, been sick as a dog the past couple of days. Extending recruitment to Friday; that way I can get back to anyone who needs it and give them a chance to change anything I mention.

Well wishes from the US East Coast! Hope you feel better, though I won't be able to implement any changes to my character sheet Friday, unfortunately; I'm getting my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow, which means I'm going to be out of it for at least 3 days.

Still! Have a nice evening, and good luck with any illness you have.

Alright, aside from spending a lot of gold and a sizable number of questions, Loreli is largely completed (Aside from 5th level feat and maybe a trait)

On the Character of Loreli

I've been doing some reading through the thread and character backstories, and Loreli is looking like something of a mirror of Ilysaria. Noble born, society rejected them, both decided to take a life of an adventurer rather than the life they were destined for. But in terms of hopes, they seem quite opposite: Loreli loved the idea of living the society life, while Lys hated it. Might be an interesting dynamic.

While I feel like I have enough background to provide insight into her as a character, I always find characters find themselves in other characters.

Continuing to mechanics, she is probably the most vulnerable member of the party, at the moment. With relatively low saves across the board (+7 and +6) and some pretty poor AC (16 vs the 19 and 20 of my peers), I feel like she is best kept away from the frontlines. With Spell DCs of 20, however, she can provide effective debuffs against multiple enemies effectively, and with her Infusions, can serve as a competent buffer.

Continuing to the more mechanics minded questions:

While certainly neither RAW or RAI, would having the Merchant Family trait allow an extra <1050 gp to spend on fluff-related items (A wagon house, a manservant, and outfits) be acceptable? Nothing magical, and nothing that could be readily abused (A bedroom, a Chamber Pot, and an office).

I presume the statement of no pre-game crafting applies to Alchemical items in addition to magical items, or would such a permission be allowed, especially for an Alchemist.

I presume that you cannot use False Focus to emulate Alchemical Regents?

I see way, way earlier into the thread you allowed Spheres of Might. Under martial traditions, a player can trade away their starting proficiencies for a martial tradition. I expect this is largely for more martial characters than an Investigator, and expects them to swap their proficiencies too. However, Investigator's proficiency with the Hand Crossbow qualifies them for this trade. This would mean (Presuming I take the Daring Scholar tradition) that I gain limited access to the Sphere system (About 3 talents). This would mean I would gain access to some limited at-will abilities in my case, plus some minor utility. Would that be acceptable? It'll greatly increase her in-combat utility if she runs out of spells, which may or may not be to her liking.

A discovery of Loreli's character

DM Ragnarok wrote:

@Loreli- the rules for archetype stacking exist specifically to avoid that sort of cherry picking, so I'm going to say no. I also doubt that studied combat will be wasted...sure, you might lean more towards social skills, but more than likely you will eventually take up arms. You can also talent it out at 9 to swap the damage bonus for an AC bonus.

Surprisingly enough for me, the backstory ended up giving her a melee weapon. It's not something I planned for her to get (She was supposed to be a spellcaster in full, and view bloodshed as a terrifying prospect), but it happened. Her spells and alchemical equipment were supposed to be her arms, but it appears she might get some use out of it after all.

Speaking of which, I presume the Studied Combat's bonus damage only applies to Melee attacks, despite not explicitly stating so?

DM Ragnarok wrote:

@Loreli- Follow the normal rules for archetype stacking, no swapping out abilities.

Let me know if I missed you and I'll respond.

I presume there is nothing I can do to persuade you? After all, Loreli is not a fighter, she's a talker- Studied Strike does not fit with her as a character, while everything else in the Investigator class does. If there was an option to swap it out for something without swapping Poison Lore, I would take it in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, it does not exist.

I'm only looking at the changes to studied Combat, as otherwise, it would be a wasted class feature- Her family didn't train her to fight, and she has largely sworn off striking blows to further sidestep the stereotypes of her race. While that would be OK, it would not be ideal.

Also, dice rolls:

3d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 1, 6) + 6 = 18
3d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 5, 3) + 6 = 16
3d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 5, 4) + 6 = 18
3d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 4, 3) + 6 = 17
3d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 2, 4) + 6 = 14
3d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 5, 5) + 6 = 18
Results in an array of 17, 14, 15, 14, 12, and 16

Whelp, I already have a character nearly completely done, minus a feat, some recalculations, and running some things past you-

This is Loreli 'Lo Munte bastard daughter of a noblewoman.

Mechanically, she's a Wizard//Investigator, not focused on entering into the frontlines, but on supporting her party and buffing from the backlines. I might give her some tanglefoot bags or similar alchemical equipment, so that she is not solely limited by her magic, but she is largely a spellcaster. Her spells are largely buffs, but I'll add some debuffing spells to her spell list, and bolster her list's BFC.

A question for the DM: The Cryptic Scholar and Empiricist archetype do not stack, but I do not like Studied Combat for this character. May I drop Intuitive Monster Lore from the Cryptid Scholar Archetype?

"Perhaps. But there's quite clearly a reason why he's hired us, and there's a reason why he's testing us. And if he's testing is, somethings quite clear if we pass: We're not replaceable. That's the whole point of testing. Making sure someone's qualified for the job is par for the course! Abadar's cursed ledgers, it's like you've never hired someone in your life!"

With the bear descending from the sky, Loreli begun another studied combat, expending a point of inspiration to do so.
"It took me five years and thousands of gold to even be allowed to be *Tested* to become an apprentice," she said, casting Darting Duplicant into the Dire Bear's space (Swift Action), requiring a DC 16 will save or lose AoO,

"It took my mother until I was *six* to get me allowed to take the test to get into boarding school," she continued, tossing a tanglefoot bag on the Bear,

"And I passed every test with flying colors. Being tested means they see potential, so perhaps consider that before yelling about the staging."
She ends her Tirade by taking a 5 foot step back.

She gestures to the spider, still ready to spring, "A wise move would have been to pin us down, or to dispel the pit that robs him of space, or simply to strike us down where we stand. But yet, it has done nothing. Locked behind a wall, it readies a pounce, and yet we're still alive."
She taps the arrow on Grial's bow, "It's a test. A common one, to see how well someone might survive against an assault. My teacher put me through a couple in the past, though none as extravagantly crafted as this. There is good reason; After all, who can tell what a fragile lady as myself can handle, how the archer responds to threats up close, or if the halflings madness would break us both."
She idly strolls back to adjacent to the halfling, "After all, he quite clearly cares deeply for Lady Kaijitsu, and wishes only the finest and wisest to aid her in her endeavor. But appearances are not always as honest as they might appear, something my family is quite aware of. And he wishes to ensure that we are as good as we seem."

She leans against the wall, "If that was a bit too verbose, I'll make it clear: We're being tested. Not sent to slaughter. So let's ready our weapons for some sparing, not to fight someone out of our league."

That's so unbelievably weird as to be fantastic, but unfortunately is too "good" of a character for what I'm looking for here; dual-wield chainsaws sounds like it might hurt quite a bit.

Hmm... Can't really think of any other design, unfortunately. Maybe a Human Duettist Bard//Huntmaster Cavileer who uses all their feats to take Boon Companion, to get 4 animal companions, 3 full level and 1 1st level, and guides them to victory? (It's an option).

As for levels, I know that it's right, because I did everything at level 4 before I mislabeled the level as 5. Level 5's just the more common level for a Wizard.

Also, just realized that I have a +2 bonus on Disable Device checks from Trapfinding, which I removed the points from to put to Intimidate and Disguise (Which kinda makes more sense for a lady who knows makeup). I suppose the +2+1d6 to perception will be helpful to setting up Grial as the one to kill the traps, as the alternatives aren't great. Fluff-wise, it just makes more sense than having her have all the ranks in Disable Device, when chances are she was never particularly mechanics minded. If I feel like it'll be useful, I'll take it when we next level.

If I can't think of anything else to spend the slot on, I could just cast Mage Armor on her in the morning. If you're willing to splurge on a Rod of extend or a recharge thing, that's 8 hours of +4 armor. She's going to cast it on herself anyway.

Either way, I have my preliminary spell list done, and (I think I added to this sheet) my alchemical equipment, along with languages. Still have about 100 gp to spend (Aside from the gold she keeps on her person, but ya guys think 1000 gp is a bit too much?)

Edit: As for spirits, I think heavens was somewhat intended to be fluff-wise, I think it's somewhat due to her chaotic mind. The Dark Tapestry spirit might be more interesting for her personality, and crunch-wise summoning might be useful to keep all of us alive. Heck, it even has a thing that's basically mage armor.

Ok new plan. Loreli just talks all the enemies out of fighting. Bam! Campaign won.

If I can get a word in, then yeah, I'll do my best. But I doubt that'll work.

There's a way for me to focus a little heavier on Disguise at the cost of my bluff modifier (by swapping a trait and switching ranks over), but I would only get to +8 or so.

I think we shouldn't really need Disguise, but I can reach a +9 in disguise (4 rank +3 Class +2 Cha), and can add inspiration, for minimal investment (More ranks). I *might* take underworld inspiration later, which would allow Inspiration on disguise for free, but I'm not sure. Depends how she changes as she levels.

With someone else on Disable Device (Grial Storm Shadow), I should be able to redirect at least one rank into appraise, and more ranks in disguise.

However, presuming Lulu doesn't stay on her current configuration, then we'd end up lacking anyone with Slight of hand. I'd take ranks in it, but theft isn't really becoming of a lady, and I'm frankly not sure if we'll need it.

for stealth, LuLu is our go-to, who can hide like a cat.

If we need someone terrified, don't rely on Loreli- her measly +6 won't scare most folks. However, Chalkou has a +9 that becomes a +11 in darkness. So we can just lock the person we want to scare in a locked caravan with Chalkou until we hear them stop screaming.

I'm willing to try to help as a secondary DM, to supplement GM Architecture. I don't feel confident enough to serve as a primary DM, but I can help to supplement.

'Lo's morning was a slow and lovely one, as it always was. But today, she was well aware, was the day that she would adventure. A long travel, from one end of golarion to another, something so beauteous and interesting, like her father did!

She spent her morning the usual way, with some extra extravagance. She donned her traveler's outfit- A simple Emerald dress with white gloves, with a lovely blue bonnet. She had spent the last two days in this place, and she had purchased some fashionable accessories from the area, some Draconic Perfume, and some Crystal Sweet Concoctions. She felt her mind, usually racing, dull slightly, but a good first impression with a gentleman was of the utmost importance.

The young Azata guided her to the man, whose appearance was absolutely dreadful, were he a man. But he was a gipli, and for one, she had to remark he seemed a little bit dashing, with a spark of intelligence in his eyes that surprised her.

"Ah, it is a wonder meeting you, Mr Niels d'Geiger, I am Loreli Munte, daughter of Ms Lilac Munte, adopted daughter of Mr Munte, my escort here is known as Jereld. It's truly a wonder to meet you, sir, and I am thankful for allowing me to partake in this adventure, it means a lot to both me and my family."

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 17 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (9) + 17 + 2 + 2 + 2 + (3) = 35
+4 ranks, +3 class skill, +5 Int, +4 vs Humanoids (+2 if not), +2 through Fashionable Accessories, +2 with Draconic Perfume, and +2 from the concoction, +1d6 free inspiration. Might be much, but if this sets the tone for her correspondances, then she wants to set it high.

Comments on the formatting- I included my +2 vs humanoids to my sense-motive, as I don't think I'll have to roll that against plants and vampires too often, and I don't think it would be too useful not to.

Question about pre-game crafting and such: Does this apply to things, such as Downtime stuff? I'd like to purchase a bedroom, a bath, and a lavatory for a single cart (Enough to fill every square). I'd decorate them, but that's 900 extra GP involved in that.

Also, second question: Are we using Unchained Mundane Crafting for GP price calculation? I'm working under the assumption while I prepare my alchemical equipment.

Well fortune be with me! Loreli will actually see the light of the caravan!

I look forward to seeing how we can improve each other by cooperating.

Build Info:
While fluff-wise, I'm flavoring it as her purchasing a prefab spellbook for really high cost, but in reality I'll mostly just be using the Arcane Magical Writing rules (1.5 * Spell Level ^ 2).

In terms of build, 'Lo is somewhere between a Bard and a Cleric, with something resembling a Bardic Performance that grants a +1 bonus on AC and saving throws vs 1 type of creature's attacks, along with an Alchemist's infusions, to allow my companions to use any character-specific buffs.
Wizardry is going to be focused on BFC, and ensuring that the terrain is a good profitable one.

Currently, I plan on adding Full Pouch to help make Alchemical Weapons and such a viable option for *At least* the next few levels. As such, this is probably the most alterable area in terms of build.

Her skills are Diplomacy, Bluff, and Sense Motive for social situations (She has Intimidate, but she lacks the Charisma to use it. Honestly should lower it), Linguistics, Spellcraft, and UMD. While she is trained in every knowledge skill, it's no more than 1 points in most non-background skills. Still means a +9+1d6 bonus, but it's not as great as it could be, I suppose.

Some minor issue is that she uses her +2 Cha mod instead of her +5 on non-specified diplomacy checks (AKA, wagonwork) and any non-lying. What that means depends on how you read the trait, but I think it means that it excludes Gather Information and Feign, but applies to pretty much everything else. Some other issues is that she cannot fight for s~+$, with defensive scores that are behind the curve.

TL;DR- She's a Wizard//Alchemist that dresses like a bard. Anyone want any specific buffs but Enlarge Person, and who can make sure that 'Lo won't be thrown into a pit of lava?

Added a bit more to the backstory. Personality doesn't seem to be gathering together, but I find that characters don't coalesce until they actually hit the pavement.

Either way, she just needs a spellbook/infusion book prepared,

I'm going to be in a car for the next 18 hours, so I won't be able to post, but this is 'Lo's page.

Bastard daughter of a noblewoman, adopted into the family. Her adopted father has died, so her mother has to re-marry. Realizing having a bastard half-orc daughter would make it not viable, they both decided to send her off on a grand adventure, as she had been trained in Wizardry and alchemy, and had already garnered something of a name for herself among Magnimars' noble elite for sussing out mysteries.

I'll add more to her page, and finish up purchases once I'm somewhere not driving, but as the deadline's tomorrow, I figure having the crunch out in the open is probably a good idea.

Gah, background isn't done to the ammount I'd like, but the outline stuff is done at least.

Background:
Imagine, if you will- A kingdom in a distant land, mountains of ice and stones drilled into by isolated dwarves, who embraced darkness wholey. From that darkness, you hear an echo from below, and a Dwarf enters out into the day.
That Dwarf made a kingdom, large and spanning, a kingdom made not of steel, but gold and trade. Gaining materials from the southern regions, with the best ship making across the globe, capable of traveling the rough journey with the highest degrees of success.
He birthed a daughter, about forty years ago, concieved on his lovers forge- And so, he birthed his daughter.

She was raised like many dwarves in the kingdom- A hint of martial training, some combat, but though she was stout of frame, she wasn’t particuarly strong, but her love seemed to be on the forge, where she spent her days hammering out tools and magic, sowing together outfits- Her love for creation seemed boundless.

Her father set something up, between her and the princess of a not to distant kingdom he’d recently been eying to establish trade relations with- So he, and his daughter, began to write.

Now, the daughter wasn’t the wisest dwarf, and was relatively foolish, but fell deeply in love with the women, though she did disagree with the queen's financial policy. They talked about royalty, design, outfits, and just generally chatted with each other about one anothers life.

But, slowly, the dwarf began to be swayed, and pulled- And she found that, behind the girls fragile frame was a mind as stunning as the stars. And the dwarven princess realized that she loved her as much as any forge (Though not sure if she loved her back). So she wrote a letter that night, to discover the following morning that she had been kidnapped.

She took to a Wizard, who whisked her away to the island, in search of the woman she fell in love with.

Appearance and Personality:
To be honest, despite everything about her, she’s kinda rough, but ultimately good natured woman- A little less than five foot tall, with brown eyes and curly hair- The clothing she wears on her back seem mostly mundane- No special frills on her cloak, a fairly mundane pair of glasses resting on her nose, a small silver chain around her throat, and a small, plain wooden cane with a bell engraved on it, plus a small bag at her belt. Her entire attire is actually rather plain, seemingly mundane clothing.

For the most part, the women is rather plain, even in conversation- She usually doesn’t say much until one talks about magic or the creation of stuff- Where she goes in and explains her love for the stuff.

In General, she's rather reserved, not being one for conversation outside of where she was taught- Talk to her about financing and establishing an effective market monopoly, she can talk for hours. Talk about diplomacy, she'll probably stumble. Talk about Thievery, she'll be silent as the day after a snowfall. Talk about Spying, she might provide some ideas as to how to gain access to it- Talk about divination, she'll stumble occasionally, but will say one or two things.

All in all, she's quiet, reserved, but when you get into an area she's versed in, she's the best companion one can have.

Alright, posting Bella Stone's character page- Still deciding between Steel Soul or Improved Initiative. Background fluff still needs done, but I'm getting tired- I'll work until I've fallen asleep, then edit it tomorrow morning.

Alright, name down (Most difficult part- Means Know Unknown in Romanian.)

And, the character idea is a woman who's sin is greed- but not of a monetary type. She claws, always, for no information, more, more, more. She claws, always to know more. Enough, that she clawed divine power with ease.

Functionally, she'll be a Cleric 1/Diviner 2/Mystic Theurge 2.
The issue is, it relies on spell like abilities to get off the ground without the Fate domain, and without racial heritage (Or MAYBE believers boon, if it's counted as Arcane), is this- I'd like to request to be able to trade my bonus feat and skill focuses for two spell like abilities.

As such, I've found two spells that fit her excedingly well- She's not exactly the most stable.
Which makes sense, since, at will, she can summon Most written knowledge into her head, and can speak with the bricks. twice per day (Or at will). Cost for them is 4 rp for each spell like ability twice per day, in place of the Skill Focuses and Bonus Feats of the human race.

AKA, she's crazy, and she's obsessively loves knowledge, and hoards it like a dragon holds gold, and defends it just as hard. Out of combat, her primary role will be knowledge monkey, between combat, her primary role will be buff monkey (So those without spells don't have to wait a day for their buffs), and in-combat, battlefield control to make others shine. (I don't like stabbing people.) Fighting is far more entertaining.
