Once it is safe, Kyle goes back to the computer to make sure the transfer happened appropriately and tracks were covered.

He pointedly does not go around killing wounded opponents.

Totally understand. I've been struggling with several of my projects as well and had to drop out of several faster paced games because I just couldn't find the spoons to keep up. Take all the time you need for you. =)

I'm here!

TN:6: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 3) = 9

Kyle looks over the data. "Oh. Oh my."

Pew Pew

Small Arms, TN 7: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 5) = 10
Small Arms 2, TN 7: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 6) = 11

Kyle's goal is to see what his employers are doing in the computer system while not looking like that is what he is doing. =) Fire off a couple of shots without really aiming to make it look like he is fighting.

Kyle ducks behind the satellite up-link while opening fire on the nearest opposition.

Perception, TN 5: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 3) = 8
Small Arms, TN 7: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3
Small Arms 2, TN 7: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 5) = 10

Hit Location: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6 I'm not 100% on how to read the table, thats either a head hit or a torso hit.
Blazer Damage x2: 4d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 4, 3, 6) + 2 = 20 40 Damage!

Could I try and connect my comlink to the computer and determine what is getting uploaded, or does that need to wait until after combat?

Kyle shrugs at the nearby tech before going for his weapon.

Init: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (4, 3) + 3 = 10

Not sure how much movement I've got, but I will stay near the tech at the uplink and provide cover for them.

Kyle feigns squeamishness at the killings before seeming to steel himself.

"Right. Lets go." And with that Kyle strides out like he owns the place, heading strait to the door.

"Ok, then lets go. No time to dawdle."

Kyle gestures for the others to lead the way.

"Will do." Kyle readies his rifle for action, his normally jovial demeanor replaced with a cold professionalism equal to Astrid's.

Perception, TN4: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 2) = 4 Nope

Kyle will take note of his gear as well, taking special care to review the Blazer and the Sunbeam he got from their current employers, ensuring that it is properly functioning and at full power/ammo capacity. As he does he continues to flirt with Astrid shamelessly.

"So, what do you say after this operation we take some time to get to know each other a little better?"

"Space is big." Kyle says deadpan, but with a playful smile on his face. "So, whats next?

Perception, TN 4: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 5) = 7

Kyle's eyes widen as he sees all the gear. "Just your com number." He says with a wink before quickly inspecting the gear. "Is that a laser rifle? I've always wanted to try one of these." he says with a smirk before picking a Blazer up along with a Sunbeam for a side arm along with several spare power packs. Next he grabs a winter camo smock and begins putting it on over the armored vest he was already wearing. "So whats the plan on the ground?"

Kyle also checks the charge on the power packs to ensure they are fully powered up.

Kyle smirks at Astrid. "I do believe that I am a sucker for a strong woman with a long gun. Or a strong man with a long gun. Maybe its just the long gun." he says with his typical infectious enthusiasm.

Kyle frowns at the data, unable to immediately break the code, but he will continue working on it the rest of the trip.

He will send a text to the rest of the original crew's personal com devices, avoiding the ship's system.

Text Message:
"Third party's encryption very strong. Appears to be Comstar/Word derivative."

Kyle straps into his seat and pulls up a viewscreen.

"Patch that unknown encrypted signal over to my terminal. I want to see if I can make any sense of it."

I want to see if I can decrypt the signal at all, maybe get an idea of who it is.

Cryptography TN:6: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 2) = 8

Kyle shrugs and follows along.

The new Mechwarrior Destiny rules just dropped!

Mechwarrior Destiny

Communication: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3
Perception: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 4) = 9
Seduction: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6

Kyle calls the rest of the team together after several hours (days?) of snooping around to share his findings.

Before they arrive Kyle takese a few minutes to sweep for bugs to ensure they have privacy.

Perception: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2 Of course... I definitely don't find anything!

Confident that they are secure he waits for everyone to arrive and begins.

"So, after a bit of slee...snooping around I've made a few discoveries that I wanted to share with everyone. First off, I am almost certain these are professional military. Not former, current. Every single crewman seems to be from somehwere completely different. In fact the distribution of homeworlds is almost exactly what I would expect to see if someone was drawing them randomly from a hat. Second, whatever it is they are installing is complex. I took an advanced communication class back at the NAIS, and whatever this is, its more complicated than that.

At this his normally jovial tone drops and he grows deadly serious.

"And most importantly, I was able to discover a serial number on a part that someone got lazy and didn't completely clean away."

With that he pulls out his communicator and shows everyone a picture he snapped. It is of a mostly defaced label in the corner of a panel S_ _ r _ea_ _e De_ _ nc _ _nd_ _tr_es Mars. The component is out of the box new.

"Mars. Brand New. So. We have a mysterious crew hiding their origin, a mysterious machine build on Mars, and a mysterious benefactor that seems to know everything. There are only two groups that fit that particular bill, and I don't particularly like the idea of working for either of them." He pauses for a few moments letting his last statement sink in. "Ladies and gentlemen, I believe we are officially in over our head. The question is, what does Comstar or the Word of Blake want from us, and do we want to give it to them?"

Kyle is very interested in the surveillance systems and will spend an inordinate amount of time flirting with whoever is the one installing it as cover to observe its workings and figure out what is going on. Furthermore when the transfer to the ship with the military crew he gets more suspicious and palls around with them trying to get some history on several crew members through idle chit chat to determine who exactly they are.

What skills (if any) would you like me to roll for this

"Maybe we can get some clan salvage while we are here. That could earn us quite a bit more than the Shreck."

I might pick it up, but I'm also looking to see if we can "scavenge" a suit of battle armor while we are on planet and start grabbing the skills for one of those. ;)

"I remember when I first heard news of the assault on Alyina. I was at a Gala on Skye at the time. It rather killed the mood of the party. Glad to hear you mad it out though." Kyle looks around and stretches. "I wonder what the story behind this little excursion is. Maybe I should see if the nice sniper lady would like to share some details over a drink."

Oh man. Anything that awards XP in this system is the best. So many skills..... I'll look over the XP rules when I get home and figure out what I'm getting, if anything. I definitely want to raise my perceptions some more. =)

Kyle raises an eyebrow at Gunner's comment.

"You were in the Lyran Guards? What happened?"

Kyle shoots a text message to everyone else's communication devices.

"Hoffen has a medical condition. This isn't the Devil's doing. More when we can speak in private."

Kyle will make a copy of all her files before removing returning the comlink at a convenient time.

to Gunner:
"This is problematic. We should share this with the others at a more convenient time. Also, I'm Kyle, who the hell are you. He says with a clearly playful grin.

Kyle looks the new woman up and down with a smile "Well hello there. Who might you be?" He extends his hand to shake "Lord Kyle Lambert, at your service."

would security systems or cryptography work? Either way its TN 6, adjusted up to 10

Whichever skill: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 6) = 9

At some point in time during Hoffen's episode, when he is fairly certain no one is looking Kyle will pocket her comlink.

Not sure what skill to use. I read through them and none of them seemed to apply. Just let me know what/if you want me to roll. The intent is to get it back to my room, crack it and find out everything I can about her before erasing my traces and returning it to her unnoticed.

Kyle smiles "I was in the moment I tasted this fantastic meal. I was just curious how much you were willing to share with us. he says as he tosses back the last of his drink.

Kyle shrugs as he eats his meal. "I'm not the one that's going to be getting shot at, but my friends are, and I would rather we know more about our opposition before we commit. I'm less concerned with numbers," he gestures to Viper "Than I am with who it is we are going up against. Local pirates are a completely different story than clanners. They each have different variables that need to be considered. Certainly you understand?"

Negotiation, TN:4: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2 The literal worst possible roll!

Perception: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 2) = 4

Kyle smiles tightly at the Devil before taking a seat he bearing becoming less relaxed, and more what you would expect to see from a noble lord slumming among the commoners. "A pleasure to meet you Mr. Cypher. I've heard so much about you. I do hope our business here is of the mutually beneficial variety." At this point Kyle breaks into a smirk, letting out a small chuckle as his posture relaxes. "Ok, I can only keep that up so long. I'm here because Frau Hoffen needed someone with the connections that I can bring. That and my charming smile." He winks at the Devil leans forward elbows on the table, eyes suddenly hungry. "So, what do you bring to the table. Hopefully something I haven't seen before.

Seduction, TN4: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6 If the Devil swings that way

When the waiter comes to take his order Kyle orders a dry aged wagyu with the 15 Lead Goose.

I need soooo much spy gear whose cost is far out of the range of a starting character (and way less than the cost of a mech), so I am all in favor of liquidating it asap. =)

Kyle considers Hoffen's words for a few moments before responding, "What type of cost are we expecting, and what do we do if its too much to pay?"

Kyle sticks his head out of his room and sees Frau Hoffen approaching before ducking back in. "One moment. I'm still getting dressed." several minutes pass before the door slides open and Kyle comes out dressed in a clearly overpriced silk shirt and slacks. He looks the Frau up and down appraisingly.

Perception, TN 5: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 6) = 8

"Yes, lower back, looks like a slug thrower. How about me?" "He does a brief spin to allow a full 360 view of his clothing. His pants appear to be very tight.

Stealth or Disguise?, TN5: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 2) = 5

I wouldn't mind picking up some power armor skills on my character if we can manage to steal one for him to practice in. =)

My character has neither mech skills nor tech skills! But he has words! And all the spy skills.

As he heads to his crash couch Kyle looks over to the others. "That name mean anything to anyone? Wokou? It seems that these CyBulls have some strangely deep pockets."

Kyle smiles "Certainly wouldn't hurt to have another mech on our side. Looks like someone got a new toy. I'm assuming if we keep this up long enough I'll eventually get a very large martini.

Kyle nods to Viper.

"Well, at least there is that. We should probably also check the tank for salvage as well. Might be able to get something good off of it."

Kyle Viper and is uncharacteristically quite during the ride. He doesn't seem frightened, just thoughtful. He responds over the Coms to Wraith.

"Pride is a powerful thing. That rifleman might be a family heirloom. Although by all rights he is a pirate... We should accept his surrender for now, and determine what to do with him after."

Yeah, everything has been thrown into chaos. I have left my home maybe 2 times in the past 2 weeks. Its driving me crazy. =)

Kyle quickly follows behind Viper.

"Yes, Lets not be out any longer than we need to."

Nope, no PM tab at all, nor button. Although now i realize one of the two people I shared it with could probably PM it to you. They probably have the button.

So I went to my main profile and found a PM tab. Clicking on any of the sub tabs gives a "The requested URL was not found on this server, or you do not have permission to access this area." error. =(

Honestly I have no idea. Never sent a PM on the boards and never recieved one. I've looked around and can't find a button for it.
