"Varook!" Lenna keeps up a steady rate of fire. Attack 1 for Hunted Shot: 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 11 - 2 = 18
Attack 2 for Hunted Shot: 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 8 - 2 = 12
The damage from these two attacks, if they hit, is added together for purposes of overcoming damage reduction. Question for the GM: Can I use my returning starknife in a hunted shot/flurry combination? It requires a ranged weapon with reload 0, a requirement which a returning weapon appears to meet. Last two actions pending GM ruling.

True, but I've had time to check the stats; it's not a finesse weapon, so my attack bonus is relatively weak with it. It would be better to have the striking rune on the bow or the starknife if everyone else has what they need. When we have time, of course.

Lenna takes the scimitar and admires the craftsmanship. Without looking, I’m not sure who needs a basic weapon rune or a striking rune at this point. I have two weapons I could use the striking rune on and I can probably use the scimitar as-is, but I don’t have my proficiency lists off the top of my head yet. I’ll take the striking rune if no one else needs it, but I won’t fuss if someone wants it. For the moment, she carries the beautiful weapon, but at the first opportunity, she offers it to Amaril to see what they think about it.

I would think any of the hybrid classes would be less necessary in the new system, but I don't have time or inclination to really dig in. I've pretty much given up on the general discussion threads, to be honest, for that reason. I do recall that the Gunslinger is awaiting rules for their weapons, so that makes it sound like it is something in the works. I don't know what a tactictian/warlord class would be that couldn't be done with a warrior bard. But - like I said, I have only spent enough time on this thought to write it down - there are probably many factors that I'm glossing over.

I got very frustrated with the speed of the new HeroLab and decided to cancel my subscription and let them get things figured out before I throw more money their way. Of course, that means I'm working everything by hand currently, which is slow because I want to be accurate. We have three basic weapon runes, two striking runes, one returning rune, and two basic armor runes. Proposal: Varook gets a striking rune - with the doubling rings, that's a great value to the party, a 2-for-1. Raff or Omari gets a striking rune - they both have other tactics in their respective bag of tricks, so I'm not sure which is going to be using their weapon for damage the most. The other character gets a basic weapon rune (from the dagger) for a secondary weapon. Aramil gets the +1 rapier after its striking rune has been removed - that just seems logical. That leaves us with a +1 returning starknife - it does more damage than a dagger, it is agile and finesse and versatile and has longer range than a thrown dagger. It's an upgrade in half a dozen ways to Lenna's current melee offering, but she's not in melee often, so it might not be the most effective use of that weapon. But I'm going to suggest that she gets it, anyway. I think the armor runes should go to Aramil (with AC 20, I believe everyone else is at AC 21 or better) and to whichever character didn't get the second striking rune - Raff or Omari.

Inventory request - who has what magical weapons and magical armor? What enhancements would you like to get from the runes we have available? I'll go first: Lenna has a basic weapon rune for +1 to her longbow. She has no runes for her armor (and would be last to ask for one).

"What about the one on the rapier and the leather armor? Is anyone going to use either of those? Oh, and the scrolls - can any of you read those?" Returning sounds very cool. I would only put it on a dagger that I don't expect to use often, so I have no wish to claim it. While I would love to see what my crazy-lucky bow does with a striking rune, I'm not going to get in someone else's way if they want it - having our front line dealing out more damage to reduce what they have to takes makes a lot of sense to me. What do we have, two basic weapon runes, two striking runes, a returning weapon rune, and two basic armor runes to hand out? EDIT: I overlooked a +1 dagger, so that's either another rune or a magic weapon that literally anyone should be proficient with. I nominate Varook for an armor rune and at least a basic weapon rune, if not a striking rune. I think he's been losing out in the magic swag sweepstakes and now's an opportunity to get him caught up in a big way.
