Greetings all. Unfortunately I've come to the unfortunate conclusion that it is time for me to step away from these boards for a while. Life keeps throwing darts, and I don't have the concentration or motivation to continue at this time. Thanks for the opportunity, and I apologize for any inconvenience this might cause. Lily looks back at the beached boat, across the water, then back at the cart. "Yes. I guess that is why we are here. Still it seems strange to go towards whatever left that waste for us to find".

She then takes a last drink of water from the river, and joins the others.

Lil takes the word of here shipmates, and jumps ashore with a line looking for a convenient spot to tie the boat off. She then steps ashore and breathes a sigh or relief that this ship for once didn't wreck with her aboard...yet.

Lil steps to the front of the boat as the crew makes their way towards the deserted pier. She holds a long boathook in hand ready to either snag something and pull the boat closer, or push it away if danger rears its ugly head.

Lil awoke. Sweating, and panting from yet another nightmare... the memory of this one elusive as usual. Why can't I remember?

Then she realizes that something is going on. She hears the rush of individuals outside, and feels the boat tilting as much of the weight of the boat shifts to one side. Arising she wipes the sleep from her eyes, and sleepily makes her way to see what is happening... just in time to see Rikus reach overboard to grab at something...

She then does a quick headcount and notices the missing individual.

"Toki"!

Lily simply nods her head, takes a push pole, and moves to the front of the boat to keep an eye out for trouble ahead.

I can agree that the rule is not worded correctly. So this balances out the feat because the advantage is cancelled out by the disadvantage... so no extra dice, and no advantage. You could interpret this as the owl must be within 5' of you for the feint to work. Not trying to start an argument... this seems to be the rule... However the GM has the right to change the rule to however he wants. :-).

The first paragraph of the "Help" action addresses an Ability check which the Attack action is not.

The second paragraph addresses using it in combat.

In either case I feel it's overpowered as stated, and would only get more overpowered if additional attacks were allowed. Always holes in the rules you could use.

BTW... I'm not upset or angry in anyway, and will be fine with either ruling, just my two cents worth. Sometimes the written word doesn't correctly convey emotion. :-).

Observant Feat
Quick to notice details of your environment, you gain the following benefits:

If you can see a creature's mouth while it is speaking a language you understand, you can interpret what it's saying by reading its lips.

You have a +5 bonus to your passive Wisdom (Perception) and passive Intelligence (Investigation) scores.

You have to watch 5E carefully as it can have some sniggly bits. In this case using the HELP action only works in combat if the creature you are attacking is within 5' of you... which makes ranged attacks in close combat have disadvantage... so a wash... unless you have a feat or ability that removes the attack within close combat disadvantage.

Alternatively, you can aid a friendly creature in attacking a creature within 5 feet of you. You feint, distract the target, or in some other way team up to make your ally's attack more effective. If your ally attacks the target before your next turn, the first attack roll is made with advantage.

Lily stands open mouthed for a moment gawking at all the seemingly happy minotaurs' around her. She then shakes off her feelings, and goes to work helping in any way she can, and shyly smiling at any who make eye contact with her. She takes a moment to wipe and polish her horns her vanity and need to fit in true.

At the offer of lodging and food she moans out loud, and runs to hug the man before catching herself.

"Thank you. You don't know how good that sounds".

She stops for a moment beside the heaving and struggling Beordt, and places a gentle hand on him rejuvenating his flagging constitution.

Lily simply stands and stares at so many other Minotaurs gathered in one place... and seemingly isolated.

She starts a bit at the mention of Mayantep, as she read some passages about this deity in one of her texts.

She then steps forward, blinking a bit at the sound between her eyes that had stunned her earlier... but too fascinated to pay it any mind.

"Please. Tell me the story of your people".

This gives me an idea for conveyance once we get back to civilization.

She hits the ground running as Rilkus lets her down, and continues to head forward.

Lily rises back to her feet, and takes place to try and slow down the approaching Trollkin. She tries to find a spot with cover from their arrows, and perhaps she can bottleneck them.

She draws her spear and casts Shield of Faith and awaits the enemy.

"Run! Run! I'll try and slow them down. Run"!

Lil freezes in place and her eyes glaze over. She sways a bit, and you can see her facial expressions change. After a couple of minutes she shakes her head, and turns to address the others.

"As far as a spell to help keep the hide from rotting... that is something I could ask for... but I would hesitate to do so, as that spell might be more wisely spent. I'm not sure what the fascination with preserving this nasty hide is anyway. It is of no great value, we're not even sure it makes suitable armor, as you'd have to take care not to stab yourself donning or removing, you couldn't wear it in a bar or civilized setting, as you'd end up poisioning anyone about you, and you want to take extra time to cure it".

She then snorts, and paws the ground with one impatient hoof. "I will go along with the majority, because it's foolish to strike off on your own in this cursed land, but just keep in mind that the more time we spend here the more danger we are likely to face... all for a stinky hide"?

Update: Just realized Gentle Repose is a Ritual spell, so if the group insists on keeping the hide, Lily will reluctantly perform the ritual, to save having to spend more time travelling.

"In my opinion the value of the hide, is not worth the time we would need to 'Maybe' Preserve it... and 'Maybe' be able to make something worthwhile out of it. I know I have no skills in forming leather armor. I say we bury it, or leave it for scavengers and proceed towards our goal".

Tossing her head and bellowing in anger... and pain... Lily thrashes her head trying to spear her antagonist with her horns.

Roaring in pain, Lily thrashes her head back against the offending beast attempting to pierce it with her sharp horns.

She then calls forth an additional faintly glowing blue set of horns that zoom in behind the creature and attempt to pierce it from the other side.

Lily holds up one massive hand, in sync with Dacknar's warning, and looks intently to the west trying to pick out more detail. She pulls her shield, and spear into a defensive position, and slowly moves towards the movement.

Lil Reaches out and gently waves her hands above the exhausted human.

Uses her Channel to remove a level of exhaustion.

Besides we need another to stand watch tonight". she says with what you've come to believe is a smile.
