Paper enhanced the image on the screen as the JAVELIN made its approach. He had trouble placing a name with the figure until Straightjacket pipped up. He glanced over at him and made a face.
”Grundy?”
He looked back at the screen again and sighed as he finally put name to face.
”Geez, it is him isn’t it.”
Paper sighed.
”I’m gonna need more paper. He’s a real brick s&!@-house.”
He stood and crossed to one of the ship’s storage lockers. Opening it he pulled two reams of paper, one in each hand.
”MINO, I’m real glad to hear you found philosophy but the League has already thrown down with him before. And frankly if Supes or Wondy couldn’t talk him down, I’m not keen on our chances.”
Paper glanced over his shoulder at the machine-man. (not that one, wrong universe)
”Buuut… if you want a shot at talking to him non-human to non-human, I think we can hold off for a minute before we have to get ugly. Or rather, uglier, in his case.”
He points at MINOTAR with one of the paper reams.
”But as soon as he takes a swing, we’re on him like a swarm of bees. Angry, swarming… flailing bees… Okay, not the best metaphor, but you get the point.”

Paper, having had enough of the imp, moved to check on Agent Rothman while MINO and the others tried to reason with him.
”You okay?”
He asked with obvious concern and Sarah nodded.
”I’m okay. I already contacted the local office and told them to stay back. I told them what we were dealing with and they agreed it was safer to wait and see if you guys can convince him to leave.”
She looked up at him inquisitively.
”Can you?”
”We’re gonna try.”
He tried to reassure her when the call came over the comm system. The two looked at each other. Sarah smirked and Leon gave her a grin.
”That’s my cue.”
She chuckled and gave him a ‘shooing’ motion. Leon smiled back and nodded before turning to head towards the Javelin.
”Alrighty, let’s do this.”

”Does anyone even use calculus?”
Leon sniped in frustration and shook his head. He wasn’t sure which the twisted world had been harder on, his eyes or his mind.
”And this isn’t helping anyone.”
He made a vague sweeping motion. He tried to reign in his anger and sound a little calmer.
”We can’t stop you. The statues, sure. But you, not likely.”
Leon’s suspicious nature began to rear its head.
’And why would he want to help us?’
He thought darkly.

Paper stumbled back, his eyes wide in incomprehension. He was dimly aware of the screams of others as his own mind seemed to shutdown for the most part. It was an effort of self preservation as it strained to comprehend just what was happening.
He shut his eyes, squeezing them tight against the madness around him. They had to think of something clever, quick. Unfortunately, anger and fear preoccupied his thoughts. The din of the screams slowly creep into his thoughts and his eyes snap open.
”Sarah!”
The twisted madness of the landscape assaulted his sight and he had to catch his balance with another stumbled step. Anger flared as he thought of Agent Rothman at the mercy of this pint-sized pain in the ass and he snapped at Myxzptlk.
“I thought you were a big bad threat, turns out you’re just a spoiled brat.”
His voice was mangled and he almost couldn’t recognize himself.
“You could never best Superman, so you decided to pick on weaker people!”
He accused the inter dimensional visitor.

I am trying to decide how Paper is going to react. :/

Paper was worried something fierce. This individual was more powerful then he could imagine. Even Superman had trouble with him, and yet here he was. They would have to figure out how to get rid of him, without seriously pissing him off. Last thing he wanted was to want the little floating apocalypse to come back for revenge. They needed to think fast.

Was that desperation in MINO’s voice? That worried him even more. Think… think… think…

“Hey, Mitzy… it’s cool if I call you Mitzy, right? Right. So Mitzy, this whole backwards name thing, does that go for all your kind? Or is it just a you thing?”
Paper added after MINOTAR.
”And is that your first name or last name? Do you even have a first or last name? And, how would you even pronounce that backwards? Kiplemitz…? Kliplomizt…?”
Paper purposefully mispronouncing his name backwards in an attempt to goad him into saying it himself.

"Question and Statement: Leon, you need to get those wounds checked out? Use the Javelin's First Aid kit, and at least grab a couple of Tylenol. I understand your soft bodies often ache with various pains after such attacks."

”Ouch. I think that hurt more then getting smacked around.”

Paper smirked and winced as he worked the shoulder he had rolled on when he hit the ground. His attention though was scanning the area for their uninvited guest.
”I don’t do karaoke.”
He admitted.
”Have you listened to me sing along with the radio? Unless your plan is to scare him into leaving don’t put a mic in my hands.”
Paper regarded heard the office over the open comms line and shook his head.
”We need to deal with the cause, you guys will have to handle the symptoms for now.”
A thought came to him.
”You think sign language would count? Get him to sign his name backwards?”
Then he heard a new voice coming near SJ.
”Crap. Huston, we have a problem.”

”I can be a bit of a fast talker, but I’m not sure I can trick him into saying his name backwards.”
Leon replied over the comms as he continued looking around for the 5th dimensional pipsqueak. From what he remembered from the articles was that the little bugger could do just about whatever he wanted. That was a bad thing, people with too much power tended to get bored too easily and tended to take it out on those weaker then them.
”Anyone have a something resembling a plan?”
He asked hopefully.

Did we get xp before the fight? I don’t remember. I’ve gotten 4 points since starting

The statue shattered under the power of the Javelin’s blasters. Paper grimaced as he picked himself up and dusted himself off. He opened his mouth to thank MINOTUAR for his aim, but he stopped as the disembodied voice began to complain.
”The hell?
He started looking around. Straightjacket’s comments are less then comforting as his ghostly companion identifies the presence. Paper sharpened his gaze as his eyes darted around in search of the floating disaster source.
”You gotta be kidding me, I’ve seen news clippings on Supe’s past encounters with that pain. We are so out of our League.”
It was a bad pun, but it was a defense mechanism.

I need to rework his defenses. :p I didn’t realize how much I neglected them.
Dodge: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Toughness: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
That’s a stun and a bruised I believe.

Paper watched as his teammate’s attacks fell harmlessly against the moving statue. Suddenly the bison turned on him and charged. He attempted to leap aside, but a flip of its metallic head smacked its horn against his ribs. The blow knocked the wind from him as he tumbled across the sidewalk.
”That’s gonna leave a mark.”
He groaned even as he shook his head and started to prop himself up.

”Roger that MINO.”
Replied as she ran down the sidewalk against the flow of people.
”Gotcha, Rigel.”

Paper cleared the panicking crowd to find it source of the disturbance.
”Well now, that not something you see every day.”
He said off-handed over the comms before reporting.
”Looks like a rouge… statue is causing the panic. Fourth and Main. It’s that metal buffalo, the one that looks like it could be MINO’s long lost cousin.”
Paper chuckled as he brought the paper staff up defensively.
”Don’t think I have enough paper to stop it, but I’ll try to slow it down.”

”Hey, chrome-dome!”
Paper tried to catch its attention as he pulled a handful of paper from the staff to form a baseball sized orb. He threw it at the statue, but really it was his power that carried the paper ball at it with strength and accuracy.

Ranged attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
And that’s most likely a miss. But hopefully I got its attention.

Stay safe, SJ.

Also, this was a chemo weekend for me, I’ll try to get a post up tomorrow.

Thank you for giving ma a chance to have these two interact. :D

“I’m just saying, that if they had sent anyone other then you I wouldn’t have came along so quietly.”
Leon smiled across the small wooden table at Agent Sarah Rothman. Sarah looked back over the rim of her latte. She smiles back and teases him as she sets her cup down.
“Oh please, you were anything but ‘quiet’ when I brought you in. You had the right to remain silent, I just wish you’d utilized it.”
Sarah smirked and Leon chuckled.
“See, you’ve always been the only one willing to fire back… you know, without a gun.”
“You know I also carry, right.”
“Oh,I know.”

Leon smiled again.
“But you never needed it with me. Just those pretty hazel gems.”
Sarah gives him an incredulous look, but it doesn’t touch her eyes, which hint at something else. She sips at her latte again to try to hide a smile. Leon took a bite of his fries, enjoying the warm, seasoned goodness. Sarah sighs and sets her drink down and leans forward, elbows on the table.
“I hear you’ve been behaving yourself.”
Leon sighed in return.
“Really, do we need to all shop?”
“It’s the reason I gave them to justify coming out here again so soon.”

Leon leaned forward himself, giving her a smaller, more intimate smile.
“Admit it, you didn’t come that far.”
“What do you mean?”

Sarah asked in a quieter tone.
“You didn’t take very long to get here after I called.”
“I just happened to be in route to somewhere else.”

She offers, but Leon shakes his head slightly.
“Na, you weren’t on an airship. I didn’t hear the right background noise.”
Sarah swallowed as Leon leaned a little closer, his tone dropped to a more intimate tone as he leaned in closer. Sarah held her ground.

Suddenly screams breached the widow of brewery they sat in front of. Their chairs fell over in unison. The two were on their feet in a heartbeat.
“We just can’t finish a date, can we?”
Leon sighed wistfully, and he shot Sarah smile which she returned.
“Maybe someday you’ll manage to finish.”
She teased even as she pulled out both a gun and a phone. She was following Leon as he pulled every napkin and receipt from every table he could reach on his way out of the Rockslide Brewery. A paper staff was in his hand as he yanked the door open and ran out into the sidewalk.
Agent Rothman was by his side, already contacting Argus on a secure line. Paper settled his earpiece as he contacted HQ.
“MINO! You there? I got a situation downtown near the Rockslide Brewery. Moving closer to get a better look, I’ll keep the line open.”

Leon does his best to convince his love interest to join him on a date. The rest of his time he spends his days half job hunting and half bumming his way through bookstores and coffee shops. Occasionally hitting the HQ’s gym to keep in shape.

I’m okay with hand waving the fight.
We did have Argus support to back us up, so even if we were out number it wouldn’t have been so bad.

Still here

Paper

Paper was actually caught off-guard at the sudden attack. He was sure they’d have a little more banter before throwing gloves. He didn’t even get to insult any of them yet. How rude.

The skeletal man lunged at him and he tried to parry the attack but mistimed it.
He felt the man’s touch for the fraction of a second and felt the overwhelming power it held. Fear and adrenaline kicked into overdrive.
The paper felt his fear and reacted on its own to protect him. Paper swarmed from his pouches like angry hornets. In the next fraction of an instant a paper thin barrier slid between the two. The skeletal man’s finger finding only steel hard paper.
On his side, Paper pushed off the paper and skidded back a few feet in a three point stance. His free hand held out as a paper staff formed.
”Okay, no more mister nice guy. I’m the one that’s usually launches the sneak attack.”

Working on post. Just need to know the result of the counter to finish it.

HP to try to counter
Power check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Sorry for the delay

As a counter Paper could have the paper swarm out and create a small paper wall between them just as the villain touch’s him, giving Paper a chance to dodge back out of reach?

Figured I’d see how the failed Fort save turns out before posting

Literally can’t hit that. -_-
Fort save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Parry: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
ouch

Paper stood out in the open on the peak. Watching as the helicopter and flyers approached. His face half covered by a white domino style mask.
”They’re arriving.”
He spoke quietly into his comms without taking his eyes off them.
”Two flyers, chopper with pilot and three passengers. I’ll leave comms open.”
He added as the helicopter landed and he got a glimpse at the inside.

”I couldn’t agree more.”

Paper said as he studied the man.
”How about you save us all a bunch of trouble and just turn yourselves in.”
He suggests jokingly.

There, updated Paper's sheet, didn't realize I had been screwing myself. :p
Apparently, I'd mathed wrong before. Should be fixed now.

I really need to clean up Paper’s character sheet a little.

Edit: in response to the question in Gameplay, I can use a couple of the new points to add piloting to Paper’s skills.

Sounds cool!

The other two characters I have are a Dresden/Constantine inspired P.I. wizard called Blackstaff and a Witchblade/Darkness inspired alien symbiote user called Chimera.
Working on a battlesuit user called Predator.

6. PROFIT!

Seriously, I think it’s a pretty solid plan. I can’t think of anything to add so Leon’s just been quiet and listening to the others as they sort out the details.

Sure

”Mino’s right. It takes time to get better. Even then, there’s always room to improve.”
He patted SJ on the shoulder as he tried to reassure his teammate.

As MINOTAR contacted ARGUS officials, Leon texted his own inside agent with a dinner offer for the following weekend. It was a familiar song and dance, he offered, she’d agree, day before or day of she’d get pulled for an assignment somewhere else. He’d only managed to get her alone a handful of times since he had convinced her of his sincerity.
He was convinced someone higher up was doing it on purpose. If he even found out who it was… he probably sick her in them. She has a mean right hook.

Leon grinned to himself at the thought before putting his phone away and returning his attention back to the comms. He was glad they had a plan and might be able to put an end to the is soon.

Leon isn’t familiar with the area, so he wouldn’t have any other suggestions. I’m good to go then.

”That’s a good idea.” Leon agreed and chuckled.
”Wish I’d thought of it.”
He looked back at MINOTAR more seriously.
”That just leaves splitting the party. Who goes where?”

Sorry for taking so long to post. I’ll be honest it’s been a little hectic for me between chemo and other games. I will try to be quicker will my replies in the future. Though I admit the weekend after chemo I’m usually knocked out on the couch 90% of the weekend. -_-

Leon sat quietly at the meeting table. His feet propped up on the chair beside him, folding paper into tiny animals and shapes as he listened to the others.
”I doubt we could get them to agree to the local library or a bookstore.”
He joked as he set a paper crane on the table beside his other creations.
”Wherever we meet, if we can get there first we can lay a few traps of our own. We need to go full Batman on this and be ready for anything.”
As he spoke be moved one of his paper animals, a paper tiger, setting it beside a small paper box.
”We let them think they’ve got us where they want us, then…”
Leon snapped his fingers and the paper box opened like a set of jaws and in an flash it snapped out at the paper tiger. In the next instant the tiny tiger was caught in a small paper cage.
”And if we know they got muscle we just need to get some of our own. We could try calling in ARGUS to back up the ones being ambushed. I bet they’d love another shot at these guys.”

Paper winds back with the hammer and it collapses into a swirl of paper sheets then reforms into a vine like growth that snaps out at Mongo's legs attempting to snare him and pull him down onto the ground
"This is the part where you fall down!"

Snare: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19

With a pulling motion the paper flows back to him and swirls around. A few quick twirling motions and the paper grows out a long handle and into a large hammer head. With a final heave Paper lunges forward and swings the massive hammer at Mongo's side.

Paper Vs Mongo: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25

Sorry for not replying. I had surgery on Monday and thought I'd be out in just a few days, but complications afterwards kept me from getting home until yesterday.

Didn’t realize my saves were so bad. -_-
Fort save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Thank you, Lady Luck.

Paper hopped back away from the tiny hoard with a look of disgust.
“Do that again and I will drop you like a rock.”
He warns Cockroach not bothering to hide the disgust in his voice. Paper makes a lifting motion and the entombed truck lifts off the ground several stories.

Paper tapped a storage compartment revealing several reams of paper he hidden away on the JAVELIN. Grabbing one, he moved to the hatch. He watch Liberteen and Knightengale attack, to varying degrees of success. When the bugs swarmed the Amazonian, he shuddered a little.
Straightjacket jumped at the big guy with the obvious intention to try to grapple and Paper decided there was enough attention on the the bruiser. He looked over at Enigma, he wasn’t sure just what the other hero could do but hoped he wouldn’t wait too long. ”This is our stop.” He said, giving Enigma a smirk. ”Last one in buys dinner.” He chuckled and leapt out of the aircraft.
Half way to the ground he tossed the stack of paper below him. The sheets scatter and flutter as the swirl. A slide forms, catching Paper and depositing him safely between the pickup and the heroes engaging Mongo.
”Show’s over!” He yells at the bug-man as he thrusts a hand forward. The slide collapses and joins the rest of the paper as it rises up like a tidal wave to come down on the pickup, attempting to encase it in a paper shell.

Paper was still half wet as he ran for the hanger.
”Figures, right in the middle of a shower.” He growled angrily.
He tossed the towel on to a worktable as he entered the hanger. Pulling on a shirt as he took the steps two at a time into the JAVELIN. Dropping into the comms seat and strapping in just as MINOTAR initiated take off.
He scanned through the police and emergency bands for active chatter.

Leon had closed the hero profiles as the group entered the main control room. He stood to join MINOTAR and SJ by the conference table as MINO pulled up the files on the criminals in question. He was glad to see some enthusiasm from most of the newcomers.

Project M.I.N.O.T.A.R wrote:
"...SJ? Leon? Did I leave anything obvious out? The last thing I want to do here for everyone is to leave out anything pertinent."[/b]

"It sounds like you covered everything we have info-wise. We can adjust as we learn more." He agreed with Straightjacket. "Now that we have more hands, we can set up a watch rotation. Someone to man the comms while one or two patrol." Leon regards the newcomers. "If anyone has a job, wants to get a job or any other previous commitments let us know, we'll try to accommodate. Do any of you have questions?"

”Speak of the Devil.”
Leon thought as he sipped his coffee, watching with apparent dis interest as Wonder Woman introduced the new arrivals. From behind his cup he was sizing them up each in turn. He would have to pull up their files when he had a chance.

When WW mentioned the possible threats he straightened up a little. ”I’ll pull up their files and make sure everyone’s up to speed.”
Leon turned his attention to the ones left behind in the living space and gave a mischievous smirk. ”Welcome to the Justice League, time to sink or swim.”

Leon left MINOTAR to give the guided tour with SJ, making his way back to the command center. He was sure the tour would circle back around to there eventually.
Leon accesses the League’s databanks to pull up files on the two criminal elements Wonder Woman mentioned. While in the system he downloaded files on the newcomers to review later.

I was just piping up to let you know I was still here and add a little background for MINO.

”Acknowledged, MINO.See you when you get here.”
Leon stifled a yawn as he stood up from the console to fetch more coffee.
”Everyone? At least he’s optimistic.”
The corridors felt emptier after so many moved on. He needed to find a place in town to stay. Spending the nights here, while cheaper, just wasn’t very… welcoming.
Leon pondered this as he drained the pot and started a new one, before heading back to the control.

"Acknowledged, MINO. Let us know if you have an update, or need any back-up."
Paper came back over their secured comms. He sat back in the chair in front of the screens. He'd been monitoring all the live feeds and radio chatter they could access, frowning. Something just wasn't sitting right with him.
Paper started going back over all the footage, trying to isolate imagines of the villain MINOTAR encountered inside the building so they might be able to identify him.

I'm hoping I can get a Dev or Author answer to this as it's caused quite a stir in our game, which has caused some GM v. Players heated debates.

Focus 1
Uncommon, Conjuration, Magus, Teleportation
Traditions Arcane
Cast verbal
Range half your Speed

Description:
You tumble through space, making a short dimensional hop to better position yourself for an attack. Teleport to any square in range that’s within reach of a creature, and then make a melee Strike against one creature within your reach.

He is claiming "Line of Effect" is required for all spells and so since this doesn't list anything outside of "Teleport to any square in range" it is not in line of sight or anything. This would not allow a player to teleport through a closed window that you can see through, a crack in a wall, or a wall of force?

Thanks for your help!

Hello Paizo Team! This is less of a question and more of a request, but having a subscription model for buying the Foundry VTT releases would be awesome!

Foxfire: You gain a foxfire-ranged unarmed attack with a maximum range of 20 feet. The attack deals 1d4 damage of the chosen type (no ability modifier is added to the damage roll). Your foxfire attack is in the sling weapon group. Like other unarmed attacks, you can improve this attack with handwraps of mighty blows.

I have been thinking about this for a bit, but for a Kitsune Monk with Foxfire since Foxfire is considered an unarmed attack that is affected by Handwraps can this be used with Flurry of Blows? I feel like it would, but it's a unique situation and I'm curious about it now.

With the Additions of Bestiary 2 and all the new books being added, when will the Avid Collector Boons be updated for weapons like Wakizashi, Rhoka Sword, and plenty of other new Uncommon Items? The sanctioning character option site doesn't mention the Uncommon items from these books.

I am trying to take advantage of the sales today (I tried earlier in the week, which I guess it was failing then too), but it will get to Place Order in red and then never checkout. I can delete my payments, re-add them, and try different cards, but it will not complete. I see others having this issue and I feel like Paizo may need to upgrade their payment processor :(
